Since we’re all doll collectors here, I figured some might appreciate seeing a well loved doll.

This was my mom’s Kewpie doll. This doll would most likely have been made in the late 1950s or early 1960s, as my mom was born in 1955 and received this doll as a child. According to her, she loved her Kewpie so much that she destroyed the original plush body for it - my grandmother sewed this one with the blue fabric, and I’m assuming the matching hat as well.

This Kewpie’s head is very scuffed, very worn from both the decades that have gone by and from the playtime with my mother as a child. I remember my mom keeping Kewpie on her bed when I was a child, though eventually Kewpie was put away in her closet. I plan to display this doll now that my mom has passed.
