Determination Is The Only Thing That Will Get You Where You Want To Be. Motivation Will Not, As It Is
Determination is the only thing that will get you where you want to be. Motivation will not, as it is temporary, people will not, as they do not have the same mind as you. You must be determined. If you can picture the life you want to lead, you have every capability of making it a reality, don’t let small things get in your way. Use the people around you as guidance and use motivation on those tough days, but remember, your determination will carry you through.

Best advice I’ve received so far
the time you take being jealous of other people’s success is the time you could be using to build your own
you’re never going to “feel like it”
doing and practicing now is better than waiting for the perfect moment
eliminate people with toxic habits from your life
you are in control. Everything you’ve done up to this moment led you here. Therefore, your future is determined by what you do now.
everything is as it should be and only later in life you can connect the dots.
self discipline will give you freedom. consistency will give you results
everything is temporary. You should find freedom in this concept
the rich stay rich acting poor and the poor stay poor acting rich
being healthy means finding a balance between the good and the bad
the people that outranked you have outworked you.
you can’t be grateful and negative at the same time.
Meditate on these statements. They are so very powerful! Xxx
![Tuesday Tips - Cape It Simple!](https://64.media.tumblr.com/790474a911d81ed9e8a0158b2f8716bf/tumblr_p6maxoBey41tugm28o1_500.jpg)
Tuesday Tips - Cape It Simple!
I don’t need to add too much explanation today. A cape, cloak or long coat simplifies the silhouette of most character, gives them a unique look or presence and conceals a lot of the overall anatomy. Keep track of the character underneath to know where to fold, drop or stretch the fabric. The fabric itself should play a role too. Different behave differently. Movement and gravity are key to “ground” your character in the environment and make it look believable. -Norm @grizandnorm #capeitsimple #100tuesdaytipsbook #100tuesdaytips #arttutorial #arttips
Eva’s LGBT Manga recs by LGBT authors that don’t include Miss Kobayashi’s or Citrus
My Brother’s Husband by Gengoroh Tagame- a manga for children and adults about gay men in Japan. told through the POV of a man who was estranged from his gay brother, and is suddenly surprised when his brother’s husband appears at his doorstep for the funeral. Explores growing up being gay in Japan, family and loss, and how children can learn and understand and help their parents understand.
My Lesbian Expierence With Lonliness by Nagata Kabi- goes into things like depression and realizing you are a lesbian in a very anti-gay culture. Nagata gets really deep here and goes into the nitty gritty of depression and anxiety, and doesn’t spare any of the details about her life being depressed and gay.
Please Tell Me! Galko-Chan by Kenya Suzuki- goes into girls in high school discovering sexuality through beautifully illustrated and colored twelve paneled strips. the gay is getting there atm but there’s a lot of discussion about girls and their sexualities without actually sexualizing the girls themselves; rather discussing the process of growing up and becoming best friends and eventually dating someone of the same sex who is also out of your social class. but it’s a comedy manga, so while there’s serious moments, the majority of it is funnies- but, the way the panels are structured and the way punchlines are set up is really amazing! it’s an acquired taste, though, considering the majority of it is dirty jokes. has very developed characters.
after hours by yuhta nishio- about a girl who owns a music store falling in love with another girl who she meets while clubbing. VERY SWEET! very fluffy and just the sweetest thing you will ever read. doesn’t have homophobia or etc, everything is good and it’s incredibly sweet.
bloom into you by nakatani nio- this is nio (a bisexual woman)’s first dive into writing same-sex love, so it’s a little clanky, but overall it’s amazing and very sweet! about a student council president falling in love with a pupil.
The Bride Was A Boy by Chii- a trans woman’s autobiography about her life as a child and growing up and eventually meeting her very supportive husband. VERY sweet!!!
feel free to add more!
if art isnt treating you right
- don’t erase the stuff you’ve already drawn, just make the layer invisible. if you’re anything like me then deleting in process sketches has a very light subconscious negative effect on how the drawing is turning out.
- don’t draw your sketches on white, especially if your brush is black. white is hard to draw on. change it to grey. trust me on this.
- if a sketch is almost there but not quite try mirroring it horizontally. the issues will be way easier to spot.
-if inking isnt your thing but you want outlines just paint your color over the sketch lines, then do the ink lines last.
- if you have lots of ideas but no patience with details like myself take to tiny tiny thumbnails. like im talking barely bigger than your thumb. it forces you to look at the whole picture and not just the details.
- if tiny doesnt work/you like detailing go opposite. draw REALLY huge and work your way through.
