2023 Goals - Tumblr Posts
What’s on my Radar
I wanna take the rest of the year to wind down and focus on a work/life balance.
We are coming up to the holidays which means lots of traveling to see family. I’ll be wfh up north and escape the warmth! But I want to be more present during the holidays and enjoy this time because it doesn’t happen often.
Health
Consume less Social Media
I have to be more conscious of the content I’m consuming
I can only take the other sites in small doses
Personal Finance
Advice - 401K Matching
Whatever the max is that your company will match you should strive to match it.
For instance, if the max your company will match is 6% on your end raise your percentage to match that 6%
Travel Plans
Upcoming Trips
Houston - MLK weekend (Flight booked ✈️)
NYC - Holidays (Flight booked ✈️)
Planning a city date with my sister for the holidays, more to come 😏
Productivity
Develop a Personal Knowledge Management System - Obsidian
Still loving obsidian, I’ve been using it to record personal notes but it’s mostly work notes as I’m trying to get myself up to speed.
Im committed to using a folder system to organize my notes and making MOCs to organize the contents in the folders.
Self care
Fun and Recreation
Start traveling on a more frequent basis, maybe quarterly? I actually want to use my vacation time but not over do it. (I have so much fun planning trips financially but I don’t follow through 😅)
Start reading for fun again
I need to start making time to read for pleasure and building a healthy routine. Even just 15-20 min a day would be beneficial. I forgot what it feels like to just read for fun. Lately, I’ve mostly been reading self help books but I want a good entertainment read yk?
I started reading a book in my library that I haven’t read yet and it feels so good to just read
Academics/Certifications/Career
Apply to mentorship at work
Finance mentorship
Waiting applications to open up, manifesting I get a certain exec
It’s 12 months long but you meet once a month (its gives Big Brother/Big Sister vibes and I actually like that)
Apply to Emerging Leaders Mentorship Program
This program is only 6 weeks and it’s jammed packed with interesting session for leadership skills and goal setting (Finance mentorship is less structured)
Apply to CPA Board?
rethinking if I even want my CPA. There are so many other certifications out there that I don’t NEED to get my CPA to be a successful accountant but I do want to get something
Career planning
For each job I like to have a goal of what I want to work on and for my current position is my business communication skills
I also want to start thinking of what I want to do after this position (this team only has but so much growth opportunities)
I like the niche I’m in and I can make a career out of it
Looking into the skills needed to effectively do my job and can be transferred to a new role
Misc.
Learn how to effectively meal plan and improve my diet consistently
Create weekend routines
Find a hair stylist that heat trains natural hair
Finish Degree
Plan trip to graduation 👩🏾🎓

If you don’t like yourself then start working on becoming someone you’ll be able to love and be proud of. If you’re already at your lowest point, all you have to do is start making decisions that will improve your life little by little, even if it’s just working out once a week or actually listening in class. Change isn’t gonna come on its own. And if you already do love yourself, keep working on becoming your dream girl because the self improvement journey never stops.
1 January 2023 - Happy New Year!
Hey ya’ll!
It’s, definitely, been a minute...
I’m really sorry for the inconsistency in posts these past few months. Life got chaotic again, but I’m back (again) and in time for the new year.
I, finally, finished creating my 2023 intentions and vision board yesterday. I made my vision board the background for both my laptop and my phone’s lock screen. To be honest...I did not achieve a majority of my 2022 goals. Looking back at my 2022 vision board was painful. I was extremely disappointed in myself when I realized how little I accomplished on the list I created for myself at the beginning of last year. All that time spent for nothing...
However, I really feel like this year is going to be different. I’m feeling, cautiously, optimistic. I was a lot more specific with the intentions I included on my list, as well as with the images and quotes I chose for my vision board. I think that is going to be very beneficial in the long run.
Overall, I’m ready for 2023. I’m ready to stop settling for less than what I deserve out of life. I’m ready to stop self-sabotaging. I’m ready to stop getting in the way of my goals. I’m ready to stop letting other people’s opinions and negative energy get in the way of my goals as well. This year is going to be the year of focusing more on myself and putting myself first. This year I’m prioritizing my own needs. This year I’m being more selfish (and there is nothing wrong with that).
This is going to be a year of healing, abundance, and prosperity. I can feel it in my soul.
