No. 3 and No. 4′s rivalry is so well-written but also gut-wrenchingly PAINFUL because you can absolutely tell that No. 4 doesn’t quite feel it on the same level as 3. He doesn’t completely grasp the root behind it, that No. 3 feels so damn inferior and that his attempts to help him grow by allowing him to be the Attacker while he took up being a Gunner felt like pity??
He genuinely cares for his comrades, that’s visible in how he treats them, how he’s the first to check on them if Black isn’t--He’s vice leader, possibly the oldest, he certainly acts like he’s the oldest in the group, and behaves with that same maturity and patience. I cannot put into words how much knowing how much he hurt No. 3 unintentionally really broke him apart??

in this entire play and even then
its one sided
and confirmed that No. 3 didn't love No. 4 he just wanted him to acknowledge him
and see him as an equal
and he genuinely did not know how deep that pain ran for 3 uNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE AND THAT HURTS ME
