Monica Rambeau Reading List
Bold is the important stuff, links in names
This is just to get people started. Obviously, she’s in more stuff, but she’s rarely the main character. The titles here she is a main character or it is important for her story
Spider-Man Annual 16 (Monica’s Introduction & Origin)
Avengers (1963) #227 (joins the Avengers) #279 (Is given lead of the Avengers) #291-293 (Why she departs the Avengers, fair warning what happens is a little fucked up)
- I’ll do a more comprehensive list of the Avengers stuff on another post, honestly, you can skip this stuff and read like an overview I still haven’t read it all.
Captain Marvel (1989)
- Two One-Shots, nice read, about the closest thing she’s gotten to a solo run :/// A warning though the second one is about racism
Avengers Unplugged #5
- Honestly not a great comic. But you learn why she changed her codename so I guess it’s important or something
Avengers: Infinity
- Super cosmic stuff, sets a precedent really (Stern again)
New Thunderbolts #8-9
- She’s in one panel in 8 so just like find that panel then skip through. and she’s in like a little bit of 9. Literally just here for another name change because Genis-Vel is a dick Like the first time understandable, dare I say valid, this time, dick move
Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E.
- So Nextwave is sooo good. While reading you must remember that it is all non-canon/retconned and is in comic limbo, but it is important later on!
Marvel Divas
- Fun, short comic. It’s so nice to see Monica doing normal things with friends
Heralds
- Like Marvel Divas, but like not as good
Mighty Avengers & Captain America and the Mighty Avengers
- She basically leads them, fair warning Spider-man is Doc Ock at the beginning of Mighty Avengers and at the beginning of CA and the Mighty Avengers Sam Wilson and Luke Cage are affected by Hate Waves so they’re all dicks at the beginning, but it’s okay because it gets fixed. Do not read this without reading Nextwave I’m begging you. It’s actually an important plot point
The Ultimates (2016) & The Ultimates 2
- I’m not even kidding when I say this is one of my favorite comics if not my favorite. The team is Monica, Adam Brashear, T’Challa, America Chavez, and Carol Danvers. It is literally the best line-up ever (Except maybe Luke Cage’s Mighty Avengers). They solve the big problems that no one else can (like Galactus!!) This and (Captain America and the) Mighty Avengers are written Al Ewing and he’s such a good writer for her
So I put together a sort of TimKon Starter Pack of comics that I think cover the base of the Tim/Kon relationship.
This works best if you have an idea of what’s going on in the universe in general, but I added a little more explanation to this list. A basic reading order is included in the zip. All files are cbr/cbz. Tell your friends, spread the joy, fire up your fic!
TimKon Starter Pack (240mb)
Short TimKon Canon Reading List:
World’s Finest Three #1-2 - Tim and Kon’s first meeting.
[Then comes Young Justice, which is optional because it’s not very shippy but it’s super-cute. Then some angst happens and Young Justice disbands.] (not included)
Teen Titans (vol 3) #1-2, 6, 13-14, 24-26, 32-33- these issues have a lot of Tim and Kon interaction and also cover a lot of important plot points that come up in fanfics.
Infinite Crisis #6 (Kon’s death) (optional, mostly here just to keep up with the plot) (not included)
[After Kon’s death, Tim does not deal well and tries to clone him.]
Teen Titans #37- The culmination of Tim’s attempts to clone Kon.
[Then time passes, Tim continues to be super-angsty and quits the Teen Titans and Batman “dies” and Tim becomes Red Robin and goes on a quest to find him, but Kon comes back to life!]
Adventure Comics #3 - Kon goes to find Tim after he returns.
Red Robin #9 - Kon visits Tim in Gotham (hugs!).
Red Robin #20 & Teen Titans #92 - Tim joins up with the Teen Titans again.
Young Justice reading order 👀

Robin Plus Impulse #1
WF3: World's Finest Three (Superboy/Robin) #1-2
Superboy and the Ravers #7 - Kon and Bart
Impulse #28, #41 - Bart and Cissie
And then we get into the actual Young Justice content:
Young Justice: The Secret #1 (1998)
JLA: World Without Grown-Ups #1-2 (1998)
Young Justice vol 1 (1999) #1-2
optional DC One Million tie-in: Young Justice #1,000,000

Heck's Angels crossover: Young Justice #12 / Supergirl vol 4 #36 / Young Justice #13 / Supergirl #37
Young Justice #14 - tie-in to Day of Judgement
Young Justice #15-19
Young Justice had its own event, Sins of Youth, with a bunch of oneshots for various characters. Honestly just pick the ones for characters you're invested in:
Young Justice: Sins of Youth #1
Superboy vol 4 #74
Young Justice: Sins of Youth Secret Files and Origins
Sins of Youth: JLA, Jr. #1
Sins of Youth: Aquaboy and Lagoon Man #1
Sins of Youth: Batboy and Robin #1

And then we finish up the series (with a couple extra notes to keep you up to date on the solos):
Young Justice #20-34
Our Worlds at War tie-ins: Young Justice: Our Worlds at War #1 / optional Superboy #89-90 / Young Justice #35-36 / Impulse #77 / optional Superboy #91 / Young Justice #37
Young Justice #38 - tie-in to Joker: Last Laugh
Young Justice #39-44
World Without Young Justice: Impulse #85 / Robin #101 / Superboy #99 / Young Justice #45
optional Impulse #86
Young Justice #46-55
The team ended with Titans/Young Justice: Graduation Day #1-3. At that point, half the members faded into the background and the other half moves over to Teen Titans vol 3, found over in my Titans reading order.
