A Defending Jacob Theory (I didn’t read the book)
So while I was getting over Knives Out, I stumbled upon this Youtube video :
The director, Rian Johnson, explained some scenes in the movie and said something interesting. It may ruin every modern mystery murder movie that we’ll watch in the future. So this is a warning. Do not read further if you don't want to know.
He said that Apple allows for iPhones to be used onscreen... except by the bad guy.
Going back to Defending Jacob -- I saw Jacob using an iPhone (in multiple episodes) and realized that Patz was using an Android one (around at the end of episode 2) and Derek's phone seems to be an Android one too (episode 6).
I’m not sure if the show is exempted from this “rule” since Rian said that it’s for movies AND the show is in Apple TV+, so I’m still doubting if my speculations.
But then again, on the latest episode, the last scene was either the actual answer or this will lead to something sketchy.
He looked fantastic in this series, doesn’t hurt the series was amazing. Wife me!
