general thoughts on Amicus? and ur thoughts on his relationship with Marco?
Well, let's open up a can of worms by looking at our favorite wolf emperor.

First off:
Awooga.
Ok, now that that's out of the way, let's focus.
Amicus is pretty cool as a character for a few reasons.
First, I think his figure is a nice view of a character who can be attractive but has, well, a beer gut! I'm not for the 'becoming unhealthily overweight' side, but some of the strongest farmers on my dad's side of the family, including my dad, have builds like him. Pudgy but strong enough to lift bail rolls of hay.
Second, dear god is Amicus a sheltered noble child. I mean, he's kind, but he is way too confused why Marco acts the way he does when he's abducted.
If anything, the interaction of the pet/servant system is requiring of deep diving, but I'll keep it brief here. Amicus is supposedly 'progressive' but his culture still tells him that non-uplifted races are worthy of this servant rank, and that they should consider themselves lucky for the opportunity. His confusion to Marco's push back lends more to his lack of raising outside of nobility, he literally can't understand why one wouldn't to because he hasn't interacted enough with other species.
Now, since he's a guy who doesn't seem to have lots of friends, he becomes extremely attached to Marco. Like, unhealthily attached. It makes sense, but it's not great when your emperor has such an easy pressing point.
Now here's the thing: I think this flaw is pretty cool. It's a fascinating flaw for a sci-fi civilization character to have, causes some interesting interplay, and causes the main drama of the story, so I'm all for it.
In due honesty, Amicus has plenty of cool aspects, and leans pretty hard into his kind strengths. If he was any different or less kind, I don't think the stockholm syndrome situation would have gone so cleanly in his favor. He's pretty lucky he didn't get his skull caved by an angry ape that first day on the ship.
BUT, he's luckily also kinda hot and pretty kind, so he's got that.
The Search for Civ
Lye's Personal Log: 9/15/2024
Civ has been missing for almost a week now.

His disappearance was completely random. Checking his belongings and room, there was no signs of him saying where he would be going. His friends and coworkers said he had gone home with no word of him planning on anything. When I awoke on Tuesday, we was nowhere to be seen, though I had noted he had come home the night before.
The cops have made the missing persons report. The local diviners are unable to find a trace of him. Even my own magical efforts show him to have all but been home one moment, and then gone the next, with only a magical error that seems to think he's somewhere in the sky. No magical teleportation traces or dimensional portals to be found. By all accounts, it's as if he simply vanished.
I wonder if the procedure I did was the problem. A month ago, I had found magical traces of the monster we encountered in the ghost town known as Echo within his mind. A slow leaking magic, one that started to get stronger with time. Nevermind Civ's mental state deteriorating over the course of the month, but I feared if this continued that the creature from Echo could be using Civ to expand its territory, which I had to stop.

I had performed a magical removal procedure to remove this magical infection. Alas, this procedure removed his memories of his visits to Echo, which I thought was a happy side effect, but it successfully removed the magical infestation. It was contained and safe.
But Civ was magically vulnerable post-procedure, and it wouldn't take much for an entity to overpower him in his state, something I'm starting to worried may have happened. Even now, I worry that targeting him with strong divining magic may harm him.
However, I've run out of options.
At this point, the only way to reach Civ would be to use something magically connected to him. As a magic-less being, Civ would typically make this inordinately difficult.
But...
This magical infestation, it has parts of Civ in it. Memories, a connection, the strongest magical item connected to him. It might be the only object capable of this level of magic.

To make matters better (but also somewhat worse), Kerry put me in contact with her families...special resources. Dealing with them will be dangerous...but they might be the only way to save Civ.
I will begin preparations for this magical ritual, but it will take time, time I will use to exhaust all other search methods first. I am fearful of what may come in the future, but hopefully it will be worth it to get Civ back.

civ for emperor!!! lets overthrow adastra's government!! put this otter in charge !!!!!!!!!
Hehehe, look at me! Emperor Civ sitting in the big chair!

Ok, imma get out of this before I get in trouble. I don't think the local wolf people will appreciate an otter Emperor. I'm here as a guest from one of the other dignitaries visiting the palace, so I probably shouldn't get on the Adastran's bad sides, at least for my dignitary's sake.
Besides, I heard that they're about to start the trials to choose their next Emperor, and I'm not sure I could successfully complete them. I've heard that it's two brothers that are vying for the position. One of them, 'Amicus', has a super rare pet called a 'simian', but the other, 'Cassius', is like a great debater. I don't think I could beat either of those two points unless there's a contest about designing city water infrastructure.
Oh well, one can dream, but I appreciate yall's support for plans for otter-world domination.
