Rain
Shippo looked up at the tall man that had unceremoniously placed him down, "Did you just spit on me?"
Sesshomaru's brow furrowed, "Tch, who do you take me for kit?"
Kagome's head jerked upwards, "I think that was a rain drop."
Not two seconds later, the sky opened up. Kagome quickly leaned over little Rin, "MAMA I THINK IT WAS RAIN!"
The heavy roar of the sudden rain storm muffled her laughing at her boy. She tugged at her shirt desperately, trying to keep the little ones dry as she herded them under the thicker tree line.
Her eyes darted about, heavy with raindrops, "Where's Sesshomaru?!"
This prompted Shippo to come from beneath her, the basket on his head. His eyes spotting the demon easier, "Hey! SESSHOMARU!" He waved his little arm, "Over here!"
He scurried back to Kagome, "Should we wait?"
Shippo shook his tail, "Wait here, Mama."
"Wait, Shippo," but the boy quickly bounded back into the heavy rain.
Quickly running towards the tall silver beacon that was the elder, Sesshomaru. "Sesshomaru," he shouted, "What are you standing here for?!"
He lifted the side of his pelt, the boy quickly clinging to his leg. His gleaming yellow eyes narrow, "The humans."
He peeked up at him, "Forget them! Mama will keep waiting for you- AND ME! So we NEED to find shelter!"
The rain was not going to relent. He dipped quickly, scooping up the boy and tucking him into his large pelt. He found her easily. She was soaked, "Come, a storm approaches." She nodded, glancing over his shoulder when his hand took her elbow, "Quickly."
She walked as quickly as she could, given the odd angle she kept to keep Rin as dry as she could.
He should have stopped her. Taken it upon himself to shelter them. But she continued her silly antics to keep the children in high spirits. Only hearing their laughter and the harsh rain.
She was a good mother.
Did he admire her for that?
