I think when people say it moves too slow is because S4 doesnt have a big recurring threat.

I mean the diamonds obviously are gonna do some shit but theres nothing pressuring the gems.

S1 had peridot.S2 the cluster and malechite.S3 had jasper.There is no threat in S4.

And yeah we watch a show about stevens life but every other season had a looming threat that you knew at any moment could burst.Not in season 4.

I want to muse on this a bit because yes, you’re absolutely right, there’s no actual threat pressuring the Crystal Gems in this season, if you completely put aside the Diamonds. 

But the “enemy” of a story can always manifest itself in different ways. 

Sometimes the bad guy lives within yourself. It’s your depression. It’s your self-doubt. It’s your existential crisis. Breaking your spirit, eroding you slowly from the inside. 

It’s much worse than Jasper or the Cluster, because Steven is utterly alone in this fight. Nobody else can face his inner demons for him. The only person who has any inkling of what Steven might be going through, is Connie.

TL;DR: The focus this season is Steven’s mental health, and how he’s processing everything emotionally. And seeing as he’s the hero of the story, all of this so-called “filler” is 100% necessary, because it’s setting the stage for some real shit that’s about to happen–either later this season or next season. If our hero isn’t mentally prepared to handle it, then everyone’s fucked.

so many people proceeded to lose every last crumb of their shit about it, writing the most asinine crybaby articles ever where they were just. utterly horrified by the possibility that more and more women might become comfortable looking natural/plain and completely opting out of the expectation to look as appealing as possible at all times, even when all they’re doing is spending all day in a cubicle. that was bonkers. lmao.

The Umbrella Academy: Aidan Gallagher openly supported Israel on instagram with a post "I stand with Israel", post is now deleted

Deadpool 3: Shawn Levy, the director of the movie is a zionist

Dune 2: Timothee Chalamet made a joke on SNL about the genocide in Palestine

Any Disney movies and shows including Inside Out 2, PJO, The Eras Tour movie, Moana 2, Marvel content: Disney is funding Israel, it has been announced that a new Israeli superhero will be joining the MCU

If you support Palestine, boycott zionist companies and stop funding them. Besides, there are many ways to watch the newest movies without paying a cent.

I just started to think about how weird it is that Logan acts as a ‘Logic for everyone’ almost instead of Logic for Thomas because they can’t seem to fully decide what the sides are and how they work. I understand that Logan wants to be taken seriously and all that but at the same time if I was making a character based around a particular person’s logic, they would be based around how that person prefers to learn and best retains knowledge vs stereotypical smart characters within media and somehow attaining knowledge that just appears out of nowhere. Like, I adore Logan but once I started thinking about how I would go about this kind of character in a concept like Sanders Sides with less angst(because I am tired of the constant angst), that’s just where my thoughts went.
