Back 2 U Lee Heeseung.

You fell in love for the first time on a sunny spring morning, at the age of 6.

"Hi, I'm Lee Heeseung!"

You looked at the small hand that had multiple paint stains of all colors that was extended towards you to take it. This was the first time you saw him and the first thing that caught your attention, apart from the fact that he was almost completely covered in paint making his clothes a rainbow, was his bright smile which was missing a tooth and his beautiful eyes.

"Hi." your voice was barely above a whisper as you shook his hand shyly, noticing how it left a red stain on yours.

The boy who said his name was Heeseung stared at you, waiting for you to keep talking so he could know your name. Only after a few seconds in silence did you realize why his eyes didn't even want to blink, in case he missed any detail, when you finished telling him your name you were already holding back a few tears due to the embarrassment you felt.

One of the first things your mom told you was that you should always introduce yourself to the children who approached you and it was the first thing you forgot.

"Nice to meet you! Do you want to be my friend? I was painting a drawing I made myself, if you want you can help me." if you had to be honest you never met someone so energetic and cheerful before. The friends you made up until now were the same as you and didn't dare to leave the comfort of your routine and relate to someone outside your small circle.

You remembered your older brothers and how they had plenty of friends and always went out to play in the street with them and sometimes you used to feel jealous about it, so you would give yourself a chance to make new friends even if it was hard at first.

So you accepted. But in the short span of a few minutes you were already on the floor holding your knee with some tears running down your cheeks, without any teacher around to help you.

Now you were beginning to regret making that decision, you were used to playing quietly or just walking through the halls while talking about anything with your classmates, so when Heeseung proposed to play hide and seek you got excited to try something new and more fun.

But the moment you couldn't find him anywhere, about 7 minutes into the break, you began to despair, you were running from one place to the other, you checked all the places you knew although it was useless because it's as if he had disappeared from the planet. Your little mind began to think unimaginable and exaggerated things but the nerves had won over you.

When your crying reached the ears of the boy who was even holding his breath so as not to be found, he came out of hiding almost running with concern marked on his face.

"Are you okay?" He knelt in front of you, looking sideways to see if any teacher would peek out so they could handle the situation. What could a child do to calm someone crying?

A small spotlight was lit on his head, he quickly checked the pockets of his pants and a big smile came to his face when he found what he was looking for, he put in front of your eyes a band-aid with drawings of panda bears to show you that he already had everything under control.

He used to fall and hurt himself quite often so his older brother had given him a box full of those so that he would start taking care of himself a little bit so as not to give his mother too much trouble.

He gently placed it on your injured knee, it was rare to see that in him because of how unruly he turned out to be at all hours. Your wound wasn't that bad but you still flinched at the touch, successfully making the small waterfall in your eyes stop.

"I couldn't find you anywhere." that bothered him a bit, he didn't like to see people get sad because of him.

"I'm sorry."

He looked down as he played with his hands only now noticing how dirty they were from the paint, the thought of painting your face pink flashed through his head. He mustered up some courage and you felt his lips rest on the band-aid he just put on.

you were startled and he didn't even give you a chance to say anything because he ran into the classroom at the sound of the bell.

Maybe you were too young to experience what love really was, but back then you could swear your heart was about to explode and you were scared to feel that way whenever you were with him.

A moment so sweet that later you wrote down in your personal diary with great detail, you didn't want to forget that moment for anything in the world.

It was something new and fresh, like lilies of the valley covered with drops of morning dew. But what could you know? You were just a little brat.

The months passed and whenever you shared a moment that made your stomach turn, you wrote it down and treasured it for yourself. You never told anyone about those emotions that made you feel more alive than ever.

After a few years being the best friends that could exist, you disappeared from the city without notice leaving Heeseung alone.

And from there you didn't know anything about each other.

The day you didn't come to school worried him a lot, but nothing compared to the feeling that shook his body when he went to your house only to see the "for sale" sign outside, with not a single piece of furniture inside.

It was as if all the memories you had shared together were shattered into thousands of pieces, just like his heart and the letter he had written for you, telling you even his deepest feelings for you.

The second time you thought you fell in love was a winter afternoon when you were 16 years old.

Spring was just around the corner but these days the cold hadn't given you a single break, today was your first day in a new high school and you already made the mistake of not bringing any coat and letting yourself be fooled by the sun in the morning because now your body was shaking from head to toe.

The snow melted days ago and if you paid attention to your surroundings you could see how the flowers began to bloom, decorating the streets a bit giving them joy, as well as a cute and innocent feeling inside your stomach that tickled your silly heart. The sun's rays fed and gave life to everything every new morning.

You took a deep breath trying to feel the early warmth of the season you loved the most.

And your body completely freezes at the smell of that perfume.

Was all this real? It's as if the whole world had stopped, time ceased to exist, the birds that were flying were frozen in mid-air, and all sounds disappeared, leaving only the rapid beating of your heart pounding your chest with force.

And all because you exchanged glances with him.

Heeseung had been so engraved in your memory and soul that today, after years, you could still recognize the typical smell of his perfume.

But had you really fallen in love again? He was the same person after all and it was as if all those butterflies were coming out of hiding that they refused to leave. They never left.

You watched as he said something to the boy next to him to walk towards you. With each step it's as if he is activating a bomb in your head not knowing what to do or say.

"Hey."

His voice made everything around you return to normal, letting time run again.

You couldn't say anything, there were so many things you wanted to say that in the end they got stuck in your throat. Both of your eyes already said a lot, although it was still not enough for two people who had loved each other so much and then stopped knowing about the other.

You let your body act by itself and quickly passed your arms around hisneck while you hid your face on his chest, the warmth of his body made you feel in paradise and when he passed his hands on your waist a chill ran down your spine. Feeling his touch after missing him for so long gave you goosebumps. It was overwhelming.

When you parted everything was uncomfortable, he raised his shoulders not knowing what to do and you just covered yourself using your arms because of the cold that penetrated inside your light clothes.

"Long time no see," it was as if you had become strangers, though practically You were "you're taller now."

You did your best to make the environment more comfortable, it was the first time you saw each other after years. His eyes were still the same as you remembered them, he was tall, much taller, his bright smile hadn't changed a bit but he was already a bigger person, you could tell just by looking at him that he wasn't still the same 12-year-old boy.

"Are you cold?" he noticed how your body reacted to being outdoors without any source of heat "I don't want you to get sick."

Heeseung didn't even let you reply that he was already taking off the hoodie he was wearing to put it on your head without hesitation.

"Oh but you don't need to!" he didn't even listen to you and from one second to another his hands were already on the edge of the hoodie making sure it covered you completely "now you could get sick."

"I care more about you." he said softly. His face was so close to yours that you had to hold your breath. He was so cute, he smelled so good and his smile mesmerized you in a way that you could die right there.

He was still the same Heeseung as always.

You didn't talk as much as you would've liked, at least you were able to spend a few minutes talking about what you had done with your lives in recent years, although you couldn't concentrate even for a few minutes, your head kept overthinking every action you did and your eyes couldn't stop traveling in his face trying to remember every last inch of him as if you weren't going to see him again for another long period of time.

Only when you got home did you realize how red your cheeks were, you were embarrassed to think that Heeseung saw you all the time with your face burning and your heart beating so loud, you were sure he could hear it.

That night you slept without being able to take off the blue hoodie with some yellow lines and letters that he gave you, it was a silly thought but you could tell that it was something he would buy the second he saw it. You smiled at that, you had missed him so much that you couldn't be able to get away from that smell that comforted you so much in the past and that remained engraved in the depths of your mind.

You hadn't thought about him going to your high school until that moment, he had the same uniform as you so that got you excited because maybe you can be close again and just thinking about being near him increased your heart rate. You felt like in a fairy tale and you hoped you could tell him what your heart been holding.

But when you went the next day he wasn't there. Nor was it the following days.

Even if you were dying of embarrassment, Heeseung was much more important to you, so you had the audacity to ask the person you saw him with, but he just told you that he had left there and he didn't think he'd be back anytime soon. You felt your heart break a second time for the same person.

Your anger spoke for you but you wished you had never seen him that day just to avoid feeling that unbearable pain you didn't want to remember for anything in the world.

It's as if Heeseung had never existed, being all a product of your imagination that so longed to live his love story.

Heeseung was like a loose leaf that had been wandering since autumn letting the wind carry it to no particular destination.

That's why the air caught in his throat when he saw you in the cafe he used to go to whenever he needed to clear his mind of it. He had never seen you there before and you didn't seem to be some new employee so he assumed it was because he always picked the times you weren't working.

Feeling so many emotions running through his body made him overwhelmed and dizzy. It was ridiculous that you always met after years in places you least expected, he was tired of that, he was tired of feeling how his heart shrank at your memory and how he cried when he saw you, it erased all the "progress" he was making trying to forget you and he went back 100 steps because he already convinced himself that you weren't meant to be together.

But looking into your eyes always gave him a little hope and he held tight to it, refusing to let go.

It was for that reason that he was too cowardly to approach you, and he simply turned around wanting to leave the place and his feelings as well once and for all. Inwardly begging not to regret his decisions later.

And it looks like the universe heard him for the first time in years.

"Heeseung?"

There weren't many people in the place and he was grateful for it because he could take off his mask and cap calmly without anyone recognizing him, but he was surprised how you could tell it was him just by looking at his figure, his stomach couldn't stop spin around.

Despite the fact that the few who were there stared at him because he had been standing for like 5 minutes without moving, he shrugged it off and walked towards you, with the counter being the only thing that separated you.

"Hey," he smiled at you, "I didn't know you worked here."

"I used to work in the mornings," you didn't know if it was because you hadn't seen him in a long time and you couldn't remember him as well as before but you noticed he was a little sad, you both looked at each other for a few seconds and stayed silent trying to distract yourselves with something "you want a drink?"

"Yeah, of course." Heeseung ordered for his usual.

Everything was damn awkward, you couldn't even talk like you did that time at the high school entrance long ago, everything was worse since you were practically strangers who didn't know anything about each other, just two unknown people who shared a past trying to talk, which would obviously end in embarrassing failure.

Both of you are left with many unspoken words about to come out of your throats, but you had to swallow them.

When Heeseung had his takeout order in his hands, he said goodbye to you and started walking towards the exit. With each step he took, new thoughts came to your head, you couldn't let him go like nothing like you did before, you had to do something to keep him by your side even for a few more hours or else you would regret not having done nothing for the rest of your life.

"My shift ends in about 20 minutes!" your ears turned red realizing you yelled at him, when you got his attention you continued "do you want to wait for me so we can talk?"

"I would love that." his grin dispelled all your doubts, he didn't even have to think twice.

You couldn't do your job properly while he waited sitting next to a window, your mind kept wandering to the image of him with the sun's rays lighting up his face. He was still the most beautiful person you've ever seen and you think you can never get over Lee Heeseung.

Getting him out of your heart is like an impossible mission, it was as if he had been created specifically to be inside you all his life.

"I still have the hoodie you gave me that day." you played with your fingers not wanting to see his expression.

Both left the cafeteria and headed to the first park you found, there were some children playing and running everywhere. You couldn't help but think about when you used to play with Heeseung until it got dark and your mother had to practically carry you home by the ears, you even avoided going home to drink water for fear that she wouldn't let you out again.

His giggle made you look up "I can't believe you kept it," he looked up at the sky, hesitating as to whether or not to say the words on the tip of his tongue, but he was tired of keeping things to himself so he let his mouth speak for itself "it's more yours than mine, it always was."

You tilted your head to the side, not understanding what he meant "what do you mean?"

"This is embarrassing," he tried to cover his face that was beginning to turn pink, "but I bought it with you in mind."

"Are you serious?"

"I've had it since I was 12 years old just because I wanted to lend it to you, so I bought it a few sizes bigger than it still fit me," your chest tightened at the memory "I never wanted to leave you." his sudden words confused you.

"What?" you tried not to stutter.

"That day I had to rethink what I wanted to do with my life several times just because I saw you again after years wondering what happened to you," he took a deep breath trying not to overwhelm his emotions "but I followed my dreams ignoring the deeper feelings, I became a trainee and now I'm here, being an idol. I'm sorry I left, but I don't regret it."

"You fulfilled your dream, of course you don't have to regret it, I would never want you to." your brain still couldn't process everything he told you, you just concentrated on the fact that he was able to fulfill what he told you so many times and you couldn't be more proud of him because your body couldn't contain so much happiness "I'm so proud of you Heeseung, I still remember when you-"

"Even though I don't even know if I like it that much anymore," he cut you off with tears welling up in his eyes "you're right, I fulfilled my dream, but everything is so difficult that I'm beginning to believe that there are more cons than pros in all of this."

You didn't know what to say, you didn't even know what was going on in his life right now, and fuck, you don't even know if you can consider yourself his friend after being apart for so long.

"No matter what I do or how hard I try there will always be bad comments that sometimes become so overwhelming that they far outweigh the good ones. I'm just tired," he looked into your eyes and a spark traveled through your body "and this may be silly but I really do believe that love doesn't exist. Or at least not for me, I don't know if I should give up."

How could he say that? How dare he say love didn't exist when you felt it with every fiber of your body every time you looked into his eyes? When that strong feeling took over your heart from the moment you met him? How dare he when he taught you what love really was even if he didn't know it? It's true, it wasn't always pretty and it used to hurt a lot to the point you want to tear your heart out in order not yo feel anything and forget everything, and you knew that better than anyone for all the years you spent away from him feeling abandoned, but you wouldn't change the love you feel for Lee Heeseung for anything in the world, even if it hurts and burns you inside you're convinced you will never be able to find something similar in your life. Love was what made you feel alive every day.

"You're wrong about that... Love is real. I know because I've felt it."

"Please don't say you love me."

But even if you were consumed with shame and with your pride broken, you decided to stand firm and stare into his eyes, those orbs that you loved so much and from which you had fled so many times.

Hearing that completely paralyzed you, had you been so obvious all that time? You wanted to get out of there, run away and never see him again.

This was the last chance you had to tell him the whole truth and stop being a coward for once in your life, you were going to fight for what your heart dictated, even if everything ended badly you wouldn't be left with that heavy feeling following you everywhere.

"I love you Heeseung, I always have."

He didn't even move, you could see his gaze change but you couldn't figure it out, it was an ocean full of doubt and he was drowning in it.

"Don't make this harder please." His lips were trembling, afraid to blurt out the next words "because I love you too."

You had to blink several times to make sure you weren't in some weird dream or misheard. You wanted to beat him until your hands got tired, you wanted to yell at him until you lost your voice. You were already preparing to be rejected and he told you that? You couldn't believe it, so many years thinking that your feelings were one-sided when in reality he felt the same? You wanted to beat yourself up too by not taking the risk sooner.

But maybe that was fine, probably if you had done it before nothing would have worked, you wanted to believe that the universe was responsible for bringing you together at the right time.

"Please tell me you really mean it." your eyes were watery, waiting for any answer so the tears could fall.

"I never in my life said something so serious." his tone of voice changed to a slower and softer one to make sure you were the only one to hear him, his hands slowly moved up your neck to position themselves on your cheeks and caress them with his thumb "I'm sorry I didn't say it before, I was scared."

Your fingers were on his, not wanting to stop feeling the touch of his fingertips on you, giving you goosebumps "scared of what?"

"Scared of loving you." he was getting closer and closer to you, now you could feel his breath caress your eyelashes "scared of being the only one who felt all these butterflies when we were together and ruining the only good thing in my life."

You repeatedly shook your head letting some tears fall, although there weren't many because Heeseung took care to wipe them all away.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you that I was going to move me out when we were 12."

"And I'm sorry I didn't tell you that I was on my way to fulfill my dream and let you slip out of my arms, you have no idea how much I wanted to see you again but I let you go."

"Don't worry about it, we're already together, right?" he nodded as your fingers played with his hair.

"Hold me again, I've missed your arms more than anything in the world, I can't let you go, not this time."

It was getting dark, the children were gone and the only thing left in the place were your butterflies that finally fluttered together.

You wrapped your arms around his neck as he wrapped them around your waist. Your heart was threatening to burst out of its cage, he was getting closer and closer and you closed your eyes waiting for his lips to touch yours. The euphoric feeling leaving you dizzy and dazed, wondering what would happen to you if he didn't hold you in his arms.

Your lips fit together like a perfect puzzle which have been searching for its missing piece for too long.

This was how it felt to truly love someone, your hearts never gave up and if you had to wait 100 more years just to feel the moment when your lips and hearts were fervently linked then you would wait as long as it takes. There is nothing in the world you wouldn't do for each other, you would go to space back and forth, burn down entire cities and plant millions of trees if it meant you would meet in another life over and over again until your souls lived through it all.

The first and only time you fell in love was that spring morning 14 years ago.

14 years and the flower that bloomed in your chest without hope of living long hasn't withered yet.

Your heart and spring would always go back to him.

⋆·: ̗̀➛ decisions┊lhs.

: Decisionslhs.

pairing: idol!heeseung x hair stylist!reader

genres: fluff to angst (sorray 😣) word count: 2.7k+

warnings: hand holding. there’s like one kiss. slight forbidden love. crying. arguing. reader has second thoughts about the relationship. reader forgets anniversary. break up. let me know if i’m missing any!

mentions: enhypen members specifically jungwon, jake, and sunoo. bang pd. heeseung’s cover of ‘off my face’.

author’s note: a little something to keep your waiting interesting 🥹 this is something i’ve written a long awhile ago; i changed a few things but nonetheless, i hope you enjoy! i apologize in advance but i promise (no promises) it isn’t that… bad 🫂 this was proofread like one time only!!!

: Decisionslhs.

“ (now all becomes clear) one in a billion… “ his voice smoothly carries out the final performance of enhypen’s comeback show. there’s a stupid smile on his face as he sees jake make his way to him.

“ dude! that was amazing! " he snickered at the compliment, rushing out back after thanking jake. his members shared a few confused glances at how quick he left but to him, there was only one reason why and it was for you.

as soon as the door separating the stage and backroom opened, your eyes light up when you saw his slightly sweaty silver hair and the genuine smile plastered on his face. your heart raced and you almost run into his arms but you realize the setting you both were in, better to not risk it.

you mentally sigh to yourself before calling out to him “ heeseung! let’s get you all cooled down “ you say, flashing him a small smile as he makes his way to you. he gathers himself up, thanking you as he sits in the chair in front of you. he takes hold of your hand, his thumb making small circular motions on your palm.

he opens his mouth to finally speak but the sound of the door creaking meant the members and staff were nearby. immediately he let go of your hand and the lingering excitement he had; a sulking expression now on his face because he so badly wanted your opinion on his improvised high note.

loud chatter filled the room and the small moment that could’ve been something, disappeared.

。・:*˚:✧。

this became a new routine for you. what is it that makes having an idol boyfriend so hard? well for one, you’re his hair stylist.

it’s been about a few months since you landed the job and the idea of almost getting caught and sneaking around with him makes it even more worthwhile. you get to sneak small pecks on his forehead, hold his hand time to time, and sometimes even feed him a few snacks when no one’s looking. yeah, definitely worthwhile.

the boys had finished another round of rehearsals for tomorrow, it’s been a busy month since their comeback. you slowly make your way to heeseung, bringing along the small electric fan to help him.

“ here, this will probably be better than the thin paper you just folded. “ you glanced over at him when you realize his hand was already on yours, eyes stuck on each other.

his eyes sparkled and you didn’t know if you could ever look away. however, he takes the fan out of your hands and acts like nothing happened. you two share a small moment before snapping back to reality, taking a deep breath.

you turn back around to the corner desk, practically ignoring everyone’s stares in the room. you couldn’t believe how obvious that interaction was. thank god, your shift just ended. your cheeks flushed with embarrassment as you picked up your bags and left.

。・:*˚:✧。

once you’re home, you place your things down and lean against the countertop. you really need to make some mental notes so this doesn’t happen again. this is the first job you’ve been able to land in so long and you really need it. despite all your talk about it being worthwhile because of him, you can’t get caught under these circumstances at the moment.

you make your way to the bedroom, taking in how your room smells like his cologne. it distracts you from any negative thoughts you might have, which then reminds you that you two have reservations tonight.

you take a quick shower before getting yourself all dolled up. you contemplated on what to wear but you always knew you were going go with the short purple dress. his favorite color besides ivory. you wanted to blow his mind tonight… for all the good reasons of course.

。・:*˚:✧。

after about 15 minutes, you heard the doorbell ring and you happily open the door to see your handsome boyfriend. he definitely cleans up well, as if he knew you were going to wear his favorite color… he was also wearing a purple shirt and a pair of black slacks.

he grabbed your hand almost instantly, intertwining your fingers with his after you locked the front door.

“ i missed you love, you left so quick earlier “ there was a small pout evident on his lips. you gave him a gentle smile, pecking it away as he opens the car door for you.

“ i know i know but if i didn’t, i would not look the way i do right now “ you replied, hints of sarcasm in your voice. he raised his brow towards you as he made his way into the driver’s seat, casually placing his hand on your thigh like it was a regular thing.

“ whether you left early or not, you always look beautiful to me “ he said softly, stealing a couple glances of you while trying to focus on the road. he still couldn’t believe that you were his; it seemed almost impossible for the two of you to be together due to the company rules but hey, rules are made to be broken and knowing him, he would do anything for you even if it costed his career and maybe… that’s where the two of you are really different.

。・:*˚:✧。

heeseung actually lied about the reservations. he had planned a whole candlelight dinner at the beach right off this cliff with the view of the dark blue ocean waves and he went all out for decorations.

he pulled out the chair for you as you sat down, making his way across from you. there was a huge smile plastered on his face and you could tell just how happy he was in this moment.

“ can you believe our one year anniversary is in a few days? it’s kept me up the past few nights, i mean it already feels like it’s been more than 5 years with you so it’s still a bit unbelievable “ he initiates the conversation, reaching for your hand. handing hold was definitely a must in your guy’s relationship; it’s a comforting, yet intimate thing you two agreed on.

you return the huge smile, gazing into his brown eyes “ you’re so silly hee! one year has definitely come quicker than we expected but i’m happy either way with you “ you send a flying kiss in his direction and he pretends to catch it.

light laughter erupts the beginning of the evening and as you sit across from the man you just expressed your feelings to, you question just how much this relationship really means to you and the lengths you’re willing to go.

。・:*˚:✧。

there were various dishes placed on the table and you couldn’t believe just how much food heeseung ordered for the both of you. you even realized that it was all your favorite foods.

“ no you did not! “ you exclaim happily, a feeling of disbelief evident in your expression. besides heeseung, there was nothing else that made you happier than food. heeseung has always been one of the people in your life who encourages you to eat, he wants you to be healthy and of course, happy in your own body.

“ all for you my y/n, thank you for being so patient in this relationship. i know keeping us a secret and sneaking around can get tiring but you have never given up on us and i am forever grateful. “

there’s a weird unsettling feeling in the pit of your stomach at his words but even so, your eyes water and you choose to ignore it as you reach to cup his cheeks and kissing his delicate lips. it was definitely worth the wait this week.

he kissed you back almost immediately, a grin forming on his lips between the kiss. “ i guess someone really did miss me huh? “ he teased you a bit as you playfully roll your eyes.

you two pull away, locking your hands together at both ends of the tables.

“ i love you, lee heeseung. “

“ i love you more, kim y/n. “

。・:*˚:✧。

it’s been a few days since the dinner date with heeseung and his words still haven’t left your mind. if a stranger were to tell you that someone could actually love you as much as heeseung does, you’d probably laugh in their face but you’re so thankful that this love was real.

it was about 7:30 am when you woke up, you slowly got out of bed and did your morning routine. you weren’t a morning person and heeseung has constantly nagged you about it but who was he to judge you for wanting to sleep in?

you got ready for the day and grabbed your essentials before running out your door, it was already 8:15 am and enhypen’s performance starts in an hour, you worried if you’d make it in time. you’re usually very punctual so maybe bang pd would ignore this first late warning.

。・:*˚:✧。

as you made your way into hype, you instantly felt intense stares from individuals in the lobby. you started feeling anxious, what the heck was going on? you brushed them off and made your way up to the back room, enhypen was already waiting there for you but heeseung was missing. worry started to fill your head but you had no time to waste so, you continued on with your regular schedule like your heart wasn’t beating out of your chest.

the clock stroke 9 am when you finished the boys’ hair and still no sight of heeseung. you started picking at your finger tips for awhile before you heard a voice speak up as if they could read your mind.

“ if you’re looking for heeseung hyung, bang pd asked to speak to him earlier this morning.. “

pause.

“ there were photos of the two of you a few nights ago, are you two really dating? “

you look up to see jungwon, concern shown all on his face. you were so taken back that all you could muster up was a small “ yes “, which caused him to furrow his brows.

“ you both know the rules, risks like this is not good for the both of you. “ hints of frustration could be heard in his voice, clear signs that he was not happy about the situation.

“ we can’t risk losing heeseung hyung so… please leave him be. ”

and with a guilty expression, jungwon walked off.

。・:*˚:✧。

bang pd had just left the backroom after he spoke to you. he was willing to give you one more chance to show him that you deserved this job and a part of you broke inside. how were you suppose to leave the only person who’s ever loved you more than life itself?

the music from the boy’s performances were blasting from the tvs in the back room but that was the least of your worries. even then, jungwon’s words wouldn’t leave your mind. it seemed like you had no choice but to not interact with heeseung.

and just like every time, enhypen’s performance ended and the normal loud voices eroded into the back room but this time, you couldn’t bring yourself to look up from the floor.

you fought tears that threatened to cascade down your face; you could clearly hear his voice and catch his cologne out of everyone in the room. the scent of him so comforting to you.

you took a deep breath and nervously made your way to the members, trying to make it seem like nothing bothered you. you walked past him, handing the small electric fan that you usually give him to sunoo. you couldn’t help but feel his eyes on you; the fact that you two haven’t got to talk to each other all day made the tension feel ten times worse. you felt your heart ache as you turned around, making eye contact with him for a small second and that was the only thing shared between you both.

。・:*˚:✧。

a few long minutes passed and everyone had left for a lunch break. you sat in the room, trying to collect yourself but the world stopped when you heard his voice call out for you “ my love… please look at me. “

his words tugged at your heart strings and automatically, you brought your gaze up to him. he made his way in front of you, towering over you with his 6 foot figure.

“ i promise you, this doesn’t have to change anythi- “ you stood up abruptly and cut him off.

“ yes it does hee, you know it does. we always feared that this would happen… it was inevitable. “ your voice softly lingered on, seeing the agony slowly build up on his face.

“ don’t do this y/n, it’s not what you want. “

“ i will not live with the guilt of being the reason why your career ends hee! “

“ i’m not asking you to be! “

“ then what are you asking me, hee?! huh? “ your chest heaves up and down at how the conversation went from 0 to 100 in the span of a few seconds. you shifted your gaze to the side, almost defeated.

“ you’re the only one keeping me going y/n, i can’t lose you. “

“ i need this job hee... i can’t. you know how hard it was for me to find a job, i’m- “ there was a tight grasp on your wrist as he cut you off, your back up against the wall.

“ i’m begging you y/n… you’re the only one i need, i’ll provide for the both of us. “ you could hear the crumbling desperation in his voice and the constant deep breaths he took as he looked down at you.

“ how can i do life without you? “ he barely managed to utter.

you could feel the immense emotions ready to burst out as you two locked eyes once you gathered the strength to look up at him again. you and heeseung didn’t even have to speak to know how each other felt. he already knew you made up your mind and it hurt to know that you could make a decision so easily.

“ i’m so sorry hee… “ your voice cracked as you saw the tears form in his eyes. you longed for his embrace but you know you’re the last person to deserve to be in his arms.

“ do you even know what day it is, y/n? “ his voice trembled. his question caught you off guard. he tried to look for any remembrance in your eyes but he couldn’t. he was in disbelief.

“ it’s may 30th y/n.. our one year anniversary. do you really not remember? “

the realization finally hit you. you couldn’t believe the words that just escaped his lips, how could you have forgotten? even through his chaotic schedule, he still remembered. it was this moment, you couldn’t stop the flow of tears that left your eyes.

“ that cover, don’t you remember it? the smiles that we shared, that day alone will always be my favorite… “ he swallowed down his sobs, his posture straightening as the pain he felt intensified.

“ i know you already made a decision love... i just wish you talked to me before you did. “ he brought his thumbs up to gently wipe away your tears.

“ hee, if i could go back just a few hours, i would’ve done this all differently. i’m so sorry…“ despite everything that just unfolded, you embraced him one last time.

you felt the warmth of his arms around you and the warm teardrops on your shirt. “ i will never stop loving you, lee heeseung. “

finally, he let his sobs through the moment he wrapped you up in his arms. maybe if he held you a bit longer, this would all of a sudden be a dream. that’s what he hoped for, at least.

“ i love you kim y/n… with everything i have. you are undoubtedly, the best decision i have ever made. “ he mumbled through his sobs as he finally let you go.

heeseung ☆ ask him for help

"can you open this for me, hee?"

on it.

"heeseung, can you carry this for me?"

already taking it out of your hands.

"heeseung, how do you do this problem?"

he appreciated that you think he's smart enough to help you with your homework, but truth be told, if you were struggling in this subject, then he'd be drowning.

there's something about the way you look up at him with wide, star-filled eyes, smiling along with your words as you asked him for help.

outwardly, heeseung would shoot you a smirk, maybe even tease you with a, "oh, you need me so bad, don't you?"

but inwardly, he'd be freaking out.

you, the most perfect person in the world, needed his help.

heeseung had always been the baby of his family, and even when he was with his friends, where he was the eldest, he found himself slipping back into the role of being taken care of.

but when it came to you, heeseung was more than eager to be the strong, dependable one.

and you asking him for help meant that you you saw him as reliable, that you could depend on him. it made his chest fill with pride.

but it also made heeseung feel so shy.

did you think of him that highly? he wondered what you thought of him when you asked him to open jars for you. did that mean that you wanted to marry him? you wanted a man that could take care of you right? did that mean that you wanted him?

"hee?" your voice broke him out of his thoughts.

shit. by the way your bright eyes gazed at him, a small smile playing on your lips, heeseung knew that you could see right through his smug facade. if not the red color of his face, or the way his hands gripped the hem of his shirt like his life depended on it, it was probably the way his eyes widened a fraction in sheer panic as he realized that you were chuckling at his dazed expression.

"y-yes?" perfect save.

you laughed, handing him one of your hard-to-open chip bags. "can you open this for me?"

"of course."

honestly, that hard-to-open chip bag was kind of hard to open, but heeseung would never admit that to you.

"thank you, heeseung," you gave him another one of your bright smiles, as he handed the bag of chips back to you, popping one of the crisps into your mouth. "love you."

then, you left.

you were so pretty.

wow.

wait...

LOVE?!

jay ☆ pull him by the collar

honestly, jay knew that he was being a bit of an asshole right now. he was tired, and so were you, but he tuned you out as you talked to him.

as the two of you stood under the streetlight, waiting for the pedestrian light to turn on, jay's feet ached. after spending an entire day out with you, his good friend, he was exhausted. even if he liked you a lot (a lot), even he couldn't ignore his fatigue.

"jay, are you even listening to me?"

"hm?" did you just say something? he had no idea, getting lost in the blankness of his tired mind.

"i asked you what you..." jay tuned out the rest of your sentence.

when he only nodded blankly, his eyes very clearly unfocused, you let out a huff.

you grabbed the collar of his shirt, harshly yanking him down so that he was eye-level with you.

"i said," you snapped into his ear, your tone annoyed, "what do you want to eat later?"

oh god.

that forced jay awake immediately. if someone dumped a bucket of iced water on him, he still wouldn't be as alert as he was now.

it was a combination of things: the way you gripped his shirt so harshly, the force at which you jerked him down, the way you looked irritated at him, how close your face was to his now... all of it.

jay heard your question, loud and clear, yet he couldn't register it properly, not when you were so close to him. his eyes were wide like saucers, a sudden wave of embarrassment washing over him. his lips parted, in an attempt to give you an answer, only to let out choked out stutters.

"i— w-well..."

you let out an annoyed sigh. you let go of his shirt, pushing his chest away, as you began walking the intersection, as the stoplight changed.

"whatever," you grumbled, rolling your eyes.

jay stood there stunned, under the streetlight as other pedestrians passed by him, watching your retreating back.

he'd always known that he was attracted to you. but this may have been the turning point.

you were rough with him, aggressive even. it made his heart plummet to his stomach.

when he realized that you were a good distance away from him already, jay snapped back into reality. his feet picked up, running after you.

"w-wait!"

jake ☆ run your nails along him + say he's strong

it was a friendly gesture. because you and jake were friends. and you saw him exclusively as a friend. was what jake told himself.

so why did he feel this way?

the two of you were just hanging out, talking about whatever came to mind, when jake randomly brought up the topic of working out. sure, maybe he was glazing himself a little bit when he was talking about how much he had bulked up in the past few months, especially because he wanted (and needed) to look cool in front of you. he didn't know what he was expecting, but you obviously got curious, asking him with owlish eyes if you could feel his arms.

of course he let you.

you started off with his biceps, feeling the hard muscle under your palms. you gave it a squeeze, giggling when jake flexed his bicep for you. in fact, you now got a good look of his entire arm now.

it was veiny and toned, the type where whenever he did anything you could see the muscle bulging from under his skin. you bit the inside of your lip, before you ran your nails along the length of his arm.

"you're so strong, jakey," you mused into his ear, before your hands trailed up to feel his strong shoulders.

jake froze.

his chest swelled with pride, attempting to bite back a proud grin on his face to stay humble about it, but deep down, he knew that he hoped that you'd say that.

but the worst part was the way your hands had felt on him. when you ran your nails against his arm, a warm chill struck through his entire body. it was such a strange feeling. but he liked it. he wanted more.

feeling the tension in his shoulders, you ran your nails on the back of his neck, fingers brushing up against the muscles on his back.

"relax," you said, and he could feel your breath on his skin.

were you doing it on purpose?

jake felt like he was about to evaporate. you were so close to him, and even if your light touches were friendly, it sure didn't feel like it.

it's safe to say that the moment that you put your fingers in his hair, running your nails against his scalp, jake's soul left his body.

sunghoon ☆ show some love to his moles

sunghoon wasn't always a fan of his moles as a kid. kids liked to tease him, pinching his skin in an 'attempt' to take the 'speck of dirt' that was his mole off his face. and when he was young, his mom took him to some korean fortune teller, and the moment the lady looked at his face, she pointed out the mole below his temple. "bad luck," she said. even in high school, his classmates would point to the dark mole under his eye and call it Avogadro's Number, because it was a mole. ha ha, funny enough, but sunghoon would only frown.

"did you know that moles are where you were kissed the most in your past life?" you asked him one day. his head was lying on your lap, something that sunghoon had to fight himself to not freak out over.

it was a quiet afternoon, just the two of you relishing in each other's presence.

"who told you that?" sunghoon asked, his hands scrunching up the hem of his shirt. it made him a little nervous, the mention of his moles. what if you didn't like them? "what evidence do you have for that?"

"have some fun in your life, sunghoon." you brought your finger up to poke the mole under his eye. then, you dragged your finger across his face, to trace the two moles below his temples, then to the mole on the side of his nose. sunghoon let his eyes fall shut under your gentle finger.

"i love your moles, hoon," you finally said after a moment of silence.

sunghoon choked on his spit, jerking up to cough up a lung.

love? his moles? absolutely no way!

"are you okay...?!" you clutched his arm as he choked on his own coughs.

when he was finally done coughing up a storm, sunghoon whipped his head over to you, his expression painted with sheer horror.

"why do you like my moles?!" he asked, his tone laced with what could only be called offense (even if he wasn't actually offended).

you shrugged. "they're cute."

"cute?!"

sunghoon's world was crashing upon his shoulders. in a good way.

you didn't hate his moles? and you thought they were... cute?!

his cheeks flared with heat, while his chest filled with warmth. he swallowed down hard, before opening his mouth to speak, yet he couldn't form any coherent words. what he spent his whole life hating was something that you loved.

his hands were getting clammy.

"why are you so surprised?" you nudged him with your foot. "doesn't everyone love your moles?"

"not really," sunghoon frowned.

you stared at his face, assessing him, before you clicked your tongue. you grabbed his head, gently pulling him back onto your lap.

"they're clearly blind then," you muttered. "your moles make you so cute."

you continued to trace his face, connecting his moles together like they were constellations, completely oblivious to the fact that sunghoon was both completely fried in the head, yet still somehow consciously planning your marriage.

sunoo ☆ take care of him

you and sunoo were just hanging out in your apartment with a few friends, when someone suggested drinking.

and that's how sunoo found himself sitting in a circle, with five or six empty soju bottles in the middle, with the rest of his friends passed out. you were in the kitchen, grabbing a recycling bag for said empty soju bottles.

sunoo was the only one who didn't drink. not even a drop. even when they reassured him that nothing bad would happen, sunoo's resolve stayed. because he had one reason, and one reason only: he said, looked, and did dumb things when he was drunk. even if he had a relatively high alcohol tolerance, sunoo would rather die than run the risk of embarrassing himself in front of you.

you, on the other hand, had a few shots along with your friends, but remained sober.

you came back to where sunoo was, bag in hand. you muttered a small, "hi," at him, before you began collecting the green, glass bottles. sunoo wanted to say hi back, but his voice came out in an embarrassingly small whisper.

"why didn't you drink?" you asked him suddenly, quickly adding when his face pinched, "sorry, i just feel like i've never seen you drink before."

yup, and there was a reason for that.

"it's okay." sunoo only nodded understandingly, hiding his excitement to finally have alone time with you (as if he wouldn't die on the stop right now). "i do dumb things when i'm drunk, y'know?"

you blinked owlishly. "like what?"

sunoo felt awkward. it wasn't like he never spoke to you at all, but just that he felt so intimidated by you and your beauty. how could he not?

though, he couldn't help the twinge of jealousy that seeped into his chest as you brushed stray hairs out of jake's sleeping face, grabbing a pillow off your couch so that heeseung could sleep peacefully on your living room floor.

"i dunno," sunoo shrugged, his eyes fixed on the way you took care of your friends. "last time i drank..."

he trailed off, causing you to turn your head toward him, watching him for an answer.

"... i threw up all over the kitchen," sunoo grimaced at the memory. "it was nasty."

you smiled. "no shame in that. if you threw up all over my kitchen, i would have cleaned it up happily."

sunoo's ears burned. he loved that about you, how you were so willing to help people.

"my roommate wasn't so happy," sunoo frowned. "jungwon yelled at me, even when i got sick the morning after."

you crawled over to him, putting the bottles aside. "well, that's jungwon. i wouldn't mind."

you poked him, nudging him with your foot. "i'd have no problem taking care of you, sunoo."

you met his gaze, your hands reaching out for his, your lips spreading out into a smile.

sunoo flushed.

you? take care of him?

that would be a dream.

he could imagine you ruffling his hair as you tucked him into bed, pressing a kiss to his forehead as you told him good night. the thought of you petting his head, letting him bury his face into your chest after a bad day made him feel dizzy. the idea of being enveloped by your warmth and perfume had him trifling, fighting for his life as more and more thoughts of your tenderness attacked him.

"r-really?"

you squeezed his hand, you other hand coming up to brush his bangs out of his face. "of course."

sunoo was going to die!

jungwon ☆ eye-contact

jungwon knew that you had a bad habit of looking at people's hair or noses instead of their eyes when you talked, he knew it better than anyone because you'd confided in him about how shy some people made you.

he was happy that you trusted him enough to tell him about your troubles.

and he should now be happy that you felt comfortable enough with him to stare straight into his eyes when you talked to him. and he was. but now he felt like he was going to melt.

were eyes always this beautiful? how come he never noticed the way they shined so brightly, the way they creased into thin crescents as you smiled?

"jungwon, are you okay?" you asked, cocking your head as your eyes innocently blinked at him.

jungwon cleared his throat, sucking in a sharp breath. "y-yeah, i am."

you blinked again, your wide eyes filled with a little concern as they stared straight into his. "are you sure?"

"of course..."

and it was then that jungwon was hit with the realization that he was probably one of, if not the only, the people that got to see your eyes like this.

"w-wait, look at me!" he blurted, and your eyes flickered back to his. jungwon winced at his sudden outburst.

you smiled. "what's up?"

"i.. uhm.." jungwon didn't know what to say. he just needed an excuse to look at your eyes. "you.. uh.. you—"

"what about me?"

"you look really pretty today!"

you blinked slowly. in that moment, jungwon saw the way your eyes darted around his face, running away from his eyes as you processed his words.

you didn't meet his gaze when you said, "th-thanks."

no! did he make you uncomfortable? "wait—!"

as you've told him before, when you got shy or nervous, you avoided making eye-contact.

(if he used his critical thinking a little better, jungwon would realize that he, indeed, just made you feel shy. not because he was making you uncomfortable, because he just called you pretty, for goodness's sake!)

riki ☆ be mean to him

riki thought of himself as a fighter, the type of person that never backed down in the face of a challenge. sometimes, he did the exact opposite— he liked to fan the flames, letting the blaze that was his friends' anger rise so high that it burned everything around him, all for a little chuckle and a heightened sense of pride.

but as the two of you sat in class, you (who sat in front of him) sent him a glare, your gaze hardening as it met his, followed by your lips parting to mutter a soft, but venomous, "shut the fuck up," riki's breath caught in his throat.

it was weird and uncomfortable, the way that riki's face began to prickle with heat. his ears burned into a red color. he couldn't bring himself to look you in the eye after that.

at first, he thought he was just embarrassed, embarrassed that someone like you had to reprimand him.

but the more that that scene replayed in his head— the sight of you angry and annoyed at him, as poison laced your sharp tongue— the more he felt queasy inside. you looked so... attractive when you were angry at him. he liked the way your eyes were filled with so much displeasure and dislike for him. it made him feel so small, but it made riki's chest pound.

he squeezed his eyes shut, biting down on his lip to suppress a frustrated groan. alas, he couldn't keep it in, as riki buried his head in his hands, fighting off the warmth that was bleeding onto his face, letting out a loud, exasperated sigh.

your head whipped around to him. your brows crashed together, annoyed and irritated by his loudness.

"i'm serious, riki," you spat, kicking him with your shoe. "shut up."

riki flushed.

all he could do was mutter a soft (and slightly-pathetic), "s-sorry."

WELCOME BACK  ⇢ 𝒻. l. heeseung

WELCOME BACK . L. Heeseung
WELCOME BACK . L. Heeseung
WELCOME BACK . L. Heeseung

synopsis: very unlike you to be absent for one day let alone three… and your academic rival was assigned to give you your missing work.

genre: academic rival!au, enemies to ???, sfw, fluff-ish

warnings: mentions of blood (not gory)

notes: me publishing this heeseung drabble before my dozens of sunghoon one is a little insane to me, but let’s do it. originally wanted to do an e2l series with hyung line, but knowing me, it’ll take 500 years to finish, so i’ll take my time and post when i feel like it.

more under the cut!

“lee heeseung, can you please stop by y/n’s house today and give them the assignments they’re missing?”

strange.

really strange.

you haven’t been in school for the last three days. strange because you and heeseung were fighting for the perfect attendance spot for as long as he had known you. the first day you weren’t here, he thought you had been only a minute late. he waited for you to walk through the classroom door for him to gloat in your face about it, but you never came in.

one day was already a lot, but now that one day turned into three. normally, heeseung would refuse that kind of request especially because it involved you, but truthfully, the last couple of days he walked by your house, he too wanted an excuse to see what kind of state you were in.

“alright,” he said as he grabbed onto the small stack of papers his teacher handed over to him.

as soon as the bell rang, heeseung rushed to grab his bag and headed off campus. his curiosity grew more when he found his opportunity to find out what was going on with you. the moment he stepped onto your front door, he took a second to think of what he’d say, but that second was quickly taken away from him as your mother opened the door, startled to see anyone there.

“my goodness,” she shrieked with her hand on her chest, “i didn’t expect anyone to be there.”

“sorry, ma’am,” heeseung quickly apologized, “i-uh have some school work to drop off for y/n. are they home?”

“they weren’t able to discharge from the hospital yet. i’m off to go drop off some food for them now. did you want to come along?” she asked him.

“come… along?” wait, hospital?

remember that curiosity that was brewing? it was boiling now, because why was heeseung in the car with your mother… on the way to the hospital? heeseung stayed silent the car ride unsure if asking about you was appropriate or not. your mom had assumed that this was one of your friends so he must’ve known that you were hospitalized, so she didn’t bother bringing anything up to him.

when they got to the hospital, your mother had given him a bag of food and told him what room you’d be in. she had to head back to work before her break was over, and heeseung was now standing in front of the hospital entrance alone, wondering how he got himself this deep in this situation.

reaching your room number and seeing your last name plastered under it, he was growing nervous. what was he even doing here? you might actually think that he cared about you, which he doesn’t. he thought about leaving your things outside your door, but this was a hospital, not your front door. contemplating a little too long, a nurse snuck up from right behind him to see if he was lost.

“oh, no, this is the right room…” he mumbled before going through the doors.

“mom?” you called out when you heard some noise outside your room.

“nope,” heeseung said as he closed the door behind him, “just me.”

you thought your eyes had deceived you, because he was the last person you wanted to see and the last person you’d think would come see you. he was probably here to gloat in your face about the attendance record and how you’re never going to catch up to him with all your missing assignments.

for as long as you and heeseung went to the same school, he was your academic rival. everything was a competition with the two of you and never did you want to lose to him. if he scored even a single point higher than you, you wanted to slap that victorious smirk he’d give you every single time off his face after he had compared your scores.

“what are you doing here?” you asked.

“mr. kim asked me drop off these and your mom asked me to give you this to eat. she had to go to work,” he explained while placing everything on the table in front of you.

you looked at everything in front of you and then back at him. he too stared back at you, waiting for you to explain why you were even here, but you didn’t. it didn’t feel long for him to wait for an answer anyway, since his eyes were lingering at the wrap around your head.

“okay, you can leave now,” you spat before taking the food your mom gave you out of the bag.

“that’s it? no thank you?”

“… why are you even here?” you narrowed down at him.

“well, i told you…”

“not what. why… like why do you have my school work and the food my mom made me? or why did you choose to come here to begin with? are you here to make fun of me?”

“what? why would i do that?” he sounded offended you even suggest that.

“well, how am i supposed to know? we aren’t exactly on the nicest terms.”

“you haven’t been in school for three days. of course, i am curious.”

you crossed your arms and raised a brow at him.

“i fell due to fatigue and hit my head,” you gave you the shortest version of what you went through.

“and…” he waited.

“you’re kind of being nosy…” you glared at him.

“i… won’t tell anyone,” his voice softened enough that you had put your guard down.

biting your lips after a short debate with yourself, you sighed and decided to tell him.

“i have to work thrice as hard to be as good as you. you’re a natural when it comes to anything, not saying that you aren’t hard working, but i don’t have the same talent as you. i’m not a natural. i have to stay up until 3am every night to understand something that takes you one read through to understand… i’ve been doing that for too long and my body couldn’t handle it,” you explained while avoiding his face, “i fell due to fatigue but i hit my head so bad that i don’t even remember falling. my mom said there was blood when she found me on the ground, but i didn’t wake up until yesterday night.”

wow. heeseung wasn’t expecting all of that. although, he felt a huge relief knowing that you’re okay now and don’t have some terminal illness that kept you in here (the head wrap had his imagination running through scenarios). but still, he felt bad. heeseung didn’t have the slightest idea that you had to work that hard to even catch up to him. you never showed it. ever. you were always quick on your feet and was always able to respond to all the teacher’s questions, but the reality was you’d review lessons a few days prior from when they were being taught so you were able to do so.

“i’m glad you’re okay,” he admitted which took you by surprise.

your eyes widened and you wanted to clear your ears out to make sure you were hearing things correctly. he was glad that you were okay?

“i have to say school isn’t the same without bickering with you at least once a day,” he added.

“we do it more than once,” you corrected.

“now, i know you’re okay since you’re able to argue with me,” heeseung smiled.

you chuckled. you actually couldn’t believe you were chuckling with heeseung. although the two of you were always at each others’ throats in regards to academics, you can’t really say he doesn’t give you some sort of comfort. he’d race you to school from your house as soon as he sees you walking out your front door. after receiving any exams back, the two of you actually searched for one another to see who got the higher score. even though you’d both say you hated one another, you really didn’t… at all.

in fact, you probably understood each other more than you think.

“you know, if you ever didn’t understand something, you could come to me about it,” he offered, “i’ve been told i’m a good tutor.”

“you’re just saying that because i’m in a hospital bed,” you rolled your eyes and leaned further back into the pillow.

“no, i’m serious. i… i don’t like seeing you like this, and school is boring if i’m not fighting with you. so if it prevents you from sleeping past midnight….”

you searched heeseung’s features to find any lies, but it truly seemed like he was being genuine and your heart felt like it had stopped beating believing that he, lee heeseung, cared for you.

“thanks…” you whispered, feeling your cheeks getting warm, “i… really appreciate it.”

“are you blushing?”

“this is embarrassing, okay?”

heeseung laughed. the worry he had this morning was lifted off his shoulders and he truly was glad to have his enemy back.

THE GIRL FROM THE BAR Lhs (COMING AUGUST 6 @ 6 Pm PST)

It's an unusually quiet Wednesday night when you push open the door of the dimly lit bar. The cool air inside is a welcome contrast to the stifling heat of the summer evening. You make your way to the bar and take a seat, the events of your rough day still weighing heavily on your mind.

As you settle onto the stool, a man approaches, a sleazy grin spreading across his face. "Hey, beautiful," he says, leaning in closer than you'd like.

You roll your eyes, not in the mood for this. "Not happening," you reply, hoping he'd take the hint and leave you alone.

But he doesn't. "C'mon, don't be like that," he persists, his persistence grating on your nerves.

Before you can respond, a voice cuts through the tension. "Pretty sure no means no."

You look up to see a man standing behind the bar, his gaze fixed firmly on the man bothering you. The guy scoffs, looking the man up and down. "Oh, and what are you, her boyfriend?"

His expression remains calm, but there's a steely edge to his voice. "No, but I don't need to be to know how to respect women."

The man's bravado falters, and he mutters under his breath, "Whatever, you weren't that hot anyway," before slinking away.

He turns his attention to you, his features softening into a concerned expression. "Sorry about that. We get the average asshole in here every night."

You're momentarily stunned by his beauty, the way his dark hair frames his face, and the warmth in his eyes, his lean build that wasn’t remarkably bulky, but just enough to make your mind race at the thought of being wrapped in those arms. It takes you a second to find your voice. "N-no, it's okay. Thank you for that."

He smiles, a genuine and reassuring smile that makes your heart flutter. "Can I get you anything to drink?"

You manage a small smile in return, feeling the tension of your day begin to melt away. "A gin and tonic, please."

"Coming right up," he says, his hands moving deftly to prepare your drink. You watch him, fascinated by the ease with which he works, the smoothness of his movements.

When he places the drink in front of you, you take a grateful sip, savoring the way the cool liquid seems to calm your frayed nerves. He leans against the counter, his gaze steady on you. "Bad day?"

You let out a bitter laugh. "You could say that. Work was a nightmare. Everything that could go wrong did."

He nods sympathetically. "I know how that feels. Sometimes it seems like the universe just has it out for you."

You raise an eyebrow, a playful smirk on your lips. "You? I can't imagine someone like you having a bad day."

He chuckles, a low, comforting sound. "Looks can be deceiving. I'm Heeseung, by the way."

"Y/N," you say, offering a small smile in return. "So, what brought you to bartending? Surely someone like you has other options."

He shrugs, a hint of a grin playing at the corners of his mouth. "I needed a job, and I like talking to people. Plus, it's a good way to pay the bills while I figure out what I really want to do."

You take another sip of your drink, feeling the alcohol begin to take the edge off your day. "And what do you really want to do?"

Heeseung's expression turns thoughtful. "I'm not entirely sure yet. Something creative, maybe. Music or art. I just know I don't want to be stuck in a nine-to-five grind forever."

You nod in understanding, your eyes sparkling with interest. "I get that. Sometimes I feel like I'm just going through the motions, doing what I have to do to get by. It's nice to meet someone who dreams big."

"Yeah, but sometimes you need to take a step back and figure out what makes you happy," Heeseung says, his gaze intent on yours. "Life's too short to be miserable all the time. And you seem like someone who deserves to be happy."

You feel a warmth spread through you, not just from the drink but from the unexpected connection you feel with this charming stranger. You continue talking, sharing stories and laughter, and as the evening wears on, you find yourself feeling lighter, the burden of your day lifting with each passing moment.

Heeseung leans in slightly, his voice dropping to a softer, more intimate tone. "You know, I don't usually see someone as intriguing as you walk through that door. It's a nice change of pace."

Your heart flutters at his words, and you can't help but smile. "Well, I'm glad I came in then. I think I needed this more than I realized."

By the time you finish your drink, you realize you haven't felt this relaxed in a long time. "Thank you, Heeseung," you say sincerely. "I didn't realize how much I needed this."

He smiles, a genuine, heartfelt expression. "Anytime, Y/N. Sometimes all it takes is a good conversation and a little company to turn things around."

You stand up, feeling a sense of clarity you hadn't had before. "I'll definitely be back."

"I'll be here," he says, his eyes lingering on yours. "Looking forward to it."

As you walk out of the bar, your spirits lifted and your mind clearer than it had been in a long time, you can't help but think about when you'll see Heeseung again.

Your heart flutters at his words, and you can't help but smile. "Well, I'm glad I came in then”.

Over the following weeks, you find yourself returning to the bar with increasing anticipation. Each visit seems to bring you closer to Heeseung, and your interactions grow more flirtatious and comfortable.

Heeseung greets you with a wide grin. “Look who decided to make my night again.”

“Couldn’t stay away,” you reply, sliding onto the stool. “I’ll have a gin and tonic , please.”

As he mixes your drink, he leans in a little closer than before. “You know, you’re quickly becoming my favorite customer.”

“Am I now?” you tease, meeting his gaze. “Does that come with any perks?”

“Maybe,” he says with a wink. “Depends on how many more times you show up.”

Conversation always came naturally in the time you found yourself spending with Heeseung. You’d find out something new about each other every time, like how he actually lived right above the bar. Perks of being close with the owner. It didn’t surprise you, his charms and genuinely good heart making it easy for anyone to love him.

You hadn't realized how much you’d come to rely on your nightly visits to the bar until your job started to get more demanding. The project you’d been assigned had become increasingly complex, with tight deadlines and a seemingly endless series of business trips. Each day seemed to blur into the next, and your usual escape—those comforting evenings at the bar—became a rare luxury.

One particular week, a major client needed hand-holding through a difficult negotiation, which meant back-to-back meetings and a whirlwind trip to a different city. You barely had time to catch your breath, let alone think about your next visit to the bar. The days were long, filled with endless calls and emails, and the nights were spent in sterile hotel rooms, far from the familiar warmth of Heeseung's presence.

As the days turned into a week, you couldn't help but feel a pang of regret each evening. You missed the easy conversation with Heeseung, the way his smile seemed to make your worries melt away, and the genuine connection that had formed between you. You wondered if he noticed your absence, if he missed you even half as much as you missed him.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, you wrapped up the business trip and headed back home. Exhausted but relieved, you decided to head straight to the bar, your need for familiarity and comfort driving you forward.

As you walked in, the bar was just as you remembered it, but something felt different. The usual hum of conversation and clinking glasses seemed more subdued. You made your way to your usual seat, and there he was—Heeseung, looking up from the bar with a mix of surprise and relief in his eyes.

"Y/N," he called out, his voice warm and welcoming. "Long time no see. I was starting to think ran off with a secret boyfriend "

You smile, feeling a weight lift from your shoulders. "oh yeah, couldn’t wait any longer we just had to elope." you joke back “don’t worry though you can still be my lover”

He laughs, the bright smile you missed bringing a smile of your own to your lips. "tempting. you think he’d be ok with that?"

You take a deep breath, his flirty response catching you off guard despite knowing it was coming. "what he doesn’t know won’t hurt him.” you flash him a smile, “seriously tho, It's been... a lot. Business trips, endless meetings, demanding clients. I’ve barely had a moment to myself."

Heeseung leans on the counter, his eyes soft with sympathy. "Sounds like you could use a drink and some serious relaxation."

"You have no idea," you reply with a tired smile. "I'll have my usual, please."

As he mixes your drink, you let out a long sigh, finally allowing yourself to relax. When he sets the drink in front of you, he doesn’t pull away immediately. Instead, he stays close, his presence comforting.

"So, tell me more," he says, his tone gentle. "What’s been keeping you so busy?"

You take a sip of your drink, savoring the familiar taste. "Where do I even start? This project I’m on has been a nightmare. We had to fly out to meet with a client who needed constant reassurance. The whole team is exhausted, and I’ve been living out of a suitcase for the past week."

Heeseung listens intently, his eyes never leaving yours. "That sounds rough. I’m sorry you’ve had such a tough time."

"Thanks," you say, appreciating his sympathy. "I’ve missed this place. I’ve missed... you."

Heeseung’s smile is soft and genuine. "I’ve missed you too, Y/N. The place hasn’t been the same without you."

You feel a warmth spread through you at his words. "Well, I’m back now. And I plan to make up for all the missed nights."

Heeseung grins. "I’ll hold you to that. You know, I was worried about you. It's not like you to disappear without a word."

"I’m sorry," you say, feeling a pang of guilt. "I should have let you know what was going on."

Heeseung shakes his head. "No need to apologize. Just glad to have you back."

As the evening wears on, you finish your drink, feeling the comforting buzz of alcohol mixed with the profound exhaustion from your grueling week. Heeseung has gotten busier, a rush of customers filling the bar and demanding his attention. He glances at you frequently, concern flickering in his eyes whenever he catches sight of you.

You try to keep your eyes open, but the combination of exhaustion and the alcohol makes it increasingly difficult. You rest your head on your hand, your eyelids growing heavier with each passing moment.

From your spot at the bar, you watch Heeseung expertly handle the crowd, his movements fluid and confident. Every so often, he throws a reassuring smile in your direction, but the bustle of the bar pulls him away each time he tries to come over to you.

Finally, the exhaustion becomes too much. Your head droops, and you find yourself struggling to stay awake. Just as your eyes begin to close, you feel a gentle touch on your shoulder.

"Y/N," Heeseung's voice breaks through the fog of sleep. "You okay?"

You blink a few times, trying to focus on his concerned face. "Yeah, just... tired."

Heeseung's brow furrows as he takes in your weary state. "Why don’t you come upstairs and rest? You’re not driving home like this."

You hesitate, shaking your head slightly. “No, it’s fine. I’ve been up longer before. I don’t want to intrude.”

Heeseung’s eyes soften, his concern evident. “You’re not intruding, Y/N. I insist. You need rest, and I have a spare room. Please.”

"Come on," he says softly, guiding you to the door at the back of the bar and up the narrow staircase to his apartment.

Once inside, he leads you to the spare bedroom and helps you sit on the edge of the bed. "Stay here. I'll get you some water and something for the morning."

You nod, too tired to do much more than mumble a thank you. Heeseung disappears for a moment, returning with a glass of water, a couple of pills, and one of his soft t-shirts.

"Here," he says, handing you the shirt. "You’ll be more comfortable in this."

You change into the t-shirt, the fabric soft and comforting against your skin. Heeseung returns with the water and pills, sitting beside you on the bed.

"Take these," he says gently, holding out the glass and pills. "They’ll help with the hangover."

You do as he instructs, feeling a bit more coherent now. "Thanks, Heeseung. For everything."

Heeseung smiles, his eyes soft with concern and something else you can’t quite identify. "Anytime, Y/N. You know I’m here for you."

You look around the room, taking in the minimalistic decor, the photos of Heeseung with his best friend Sunghoon, and pictures of his family. The personal touches make you feel closer to him, a warmth spreading through you that has nothing to do with the alcohol.

"You really have a nice place," you say softly, feeling a bit more grounded.

Heeseung chuckles, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Thanks. I’m glad you think so."

As you settle into the bed, Heeseung stands, looking down at you with a mix of concern and affection. "Get some rest, okay? I’ll be right downstairs if you need anything."

You nod, already feeling the pull of sleep. "Goodnight, Heeseung."

"Goodnight, Y/N," he replies, his voice gentle as he turns off the light and quietly leaves the room.

In the darkness, you let out a deep breath, the events of the past week finally catching up to you. But despite the exhaustion, a sense of peace settles over you. Knowing Heeseung is just a room away, that he cares for you enough to make sure you’re safe and comfortable, fills you with a warmth you hadn’t realized you were missing.

As you drift off to sleep, you can’t help but feel grateful for the connection you’ve found with Heeseung. And maybe, just maybe, there’s something more than friendship growing between you.

The next morning, you wake up to the soft light filtering through the blinds, your head surprisingly clear thanks to the water and pills Heeseung gave you last night. You stretch, feeling the comfort of his t-shirt against your skin, and remember where you are. The events of the previous evening come back in a rush, and you’re filled with a sense of gratitude and a hint of embarrassment.

You decide to freshen up, so you get out of bed and make your way to the restroom. Just as you reach for the doorknob, the door swings open, and you find yourself face-to-face with Heeseung, freshly showered, with only a white towel hanging low on his hips. His hair is damp, drops of water still clinging to his skin, and his well-defined torso is on full display.

For a moment, neither of you moves. You’re too stunned to speak, and Heeseung seems equally taken aback. His eyes widen slightly as he registers your presence, and then a slow, teasing smile spreads across his face.

"Good morning," he says, his voice a little huskier than usual. "Sleep well?"

You swallow, trying to maintain your composure despite the sudden heat rushing to your cheeks. "Y-yes, thank you. I was just... heading to the restroom."

He steps aside, still smiling. "It's all yours."

You nod, squeezing past him, trying not to brush against him too much. Once inside the restroom, you close the door and take a deep breath, trying to steady your racing heart. After a moment, you gather yourself and freshen up quickly.

When you step out of the restroom, Heeseung is in the kitchen, now dressed in a t-shirt and jeans, his hair still slightly damp but styled. He’s making coffee, and the rich aroma fills the apartment.

"Feeling better?" he asks, glancing up at you with a warm smile.

You nod, walking over to join him. "Much better, thanks to you."

Heeseung pours you a cup of coffee and hands it to you. "Good. I’m glad. I didn’t want you to go through today feeling like a wreck."

You take the coffee, savoring the warmth. "You’re really kind, Heeseung. I don’t know how to thank you."

Heeseung leans against the counter, his expression thoughtful. "You don’t need to thank me, Y/N. I’m just glad I could help. You work so hard; you deserve to take care of yourself, too."

His words touch you deeply, and you find yourself smiling despite the lingering awkwardness of the morning. "Well, you’ve definitely made a fan out of me. I don’t know what I would have done without you last night."

Heeseung chuckles. "I think you would have managed, but I’m glad I was here. Besides, I like having you around."

You both fall into an easy silence, sipping your coffee. The atmosphere is comfortable, and you feel a sense of closeness that goes beyond the usual bar conversations. It's as if the bond between you has deepened overnight.

"So," Heeseung says after a moment, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Do you have any plans for today, or are you just going to recover from the week?"

You laugh softly, feeling the tension of the past days finally lifting. "I think I’ll take it easy. Maybe catch up on some sleep, watch a movie, and just relax."

Heeseung nods approvingly. "Sounds like a good plan. If you need anything, feel free to hang out here as long as you like. Mi casa es su casa."

"Thank you," you reply, genuinely touched. "I might take you up on that."

Heeseung’s smile widens. "I hope you do."

As you both finish your coffee, the morning sun streaming in through the windows, you realize that this simple act of kindness has brought you and Heeseung even closer. The easy conversation, the shared laughter, and the mutual respect all make you feel incredibly lucky to have found someone like him. Friend or someone thing more.

Heeseung’s expression brightens, and he leans forward, his eyes twinkling with mischief. “How about we make today fun? I know you said you wanted to relax, but maybe we can do something together. It doesn’t have to be anything crazy—just something to take your mind off work.”

You feel a flutter of excitement at his suggestion. “That sounds great. What do you have in mind?”

Heeseung grins. “Well, there’s a little café down the street that makes the best pastries. We could start there and then see where the day takes us.”

You can’t help but smile back, the prospect of spending more time with Heeseung lifting your spirits. “I’d love that.”

As you get ready to head out, you glance around his apartment once more, the personal touches making you feel even closer to him. The photos, the simple decor, everything speaks of the man you’ve come to care about.

Heeseung grabs his keys and turns to you, his smile warm and inviting. “Ready?”

You nod, feeling a sense of anticipation. “Ready.”

The café Heeseung mentioned turns out to be a charming little spot with a cozy atmosphere and an enticing display of pastries. As you walk in, the smell of freshly baked goods and brewing coffee envelops you, making your stomach growl in anticipation.

Heeseung leads you to a table by the window, and you both take a seat. He smiles at you, his eyes sparkling with excitement. “What do you want to try first?”

You glance at the display, feeling a bit overwhelmed by the delicious options. “Everything looks so good. Maybe we should get a few different things and share?”

Heeseung nods enthusiastically. “Good idea. I’ll get us a selection. Be right back.”

As he heads to the counter, you watch him interact with the barista, his easy charm and warmth evident in every gesture. You can’t help but feel a surge of affection for him, grateful for his presence in your life.

Heeseung returns with a tray full of assorted pastries and two steaming cups of coffee. “Hope you’re hungry,” he says, setting the tray down with a grin.

You laugh softly. “I am. This all looks amazing.”

You both dig in, sharing bites and commenting on the flavors. The conversation flows naturally, the ease between you growing with each passing moment. It feels like the perfect way to unwind after the stress of your job, and you find yourself relaxing more and more.

After you’ve sampled nearly everything on the tray, Heeseung leans back in his chair, a satisfied smile on his face. “That was a good call. I’m stuffed.”

You nod in agreement, feeling content. “Me too. Thanks for bringing me here. It’s exactly what I needed.”

Heeseung’s eyes soften, and he reaches across the table to take your hand. “I’m glad. You deserve to have a break and enjoy yourself.”

Your heart skips a beat at the tenderness in his voice. “Thank you, Heeseung. For everything.”

He gives your hand a gentle squeeze. “Anytime, Y/N. You know I’m always here for you.”

As you both finish your coffee, the café begins to fill up with the lunchtime crowd. Heeseung glances around, then back at you with a playful glint in his eye. “How about we take a walk? There’s a park nearby that’s really nice.”

You smile, feeling excited at the prospect. “I’d love that.”

You leave the café and head to the park, the sun shining brightly and a gentle breeze rustling the leaves. As you walk along the winding paths, Heeseung keeps the conversation light and playful, making you laugh with his witty remarks and stories.

At one point, you come across a small pond with a few benches nearby. Heeseung leads you to one of the benches, and you both sit down, enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

He turns to you, his expression thoughtful. “You know, I’ve really enjoyed spending this time with you, Y/N. It’s nice to see you relax and have fun.”

You smile, feeling a warmth spread through you at his words. “I’ve enjoyed it too, Heeseung. You make everything better.”

Heeseung’s eyes hold yours, a hint of something deeper flickering in their depths. “I’m glad to hear that. You mean a lot to me, Y/N.”

Your breath catches at the intensity of his gaze, and you feel a rush of emotion. “You mean a lot to me too, Heeseung.”

For a moment, the world seems to fade away, leaving just the two of you in a bubble of shared feelings and unspoken words. The connection between you feels stronger than ever, and you realize that what you have with Heeseung is something truly special.

Heeseung breaks the silence first, his voice soft. “I’m really glad you came into the bar that night. It feels like we’ve known each other forever.”

You nod, your heart full. “Me too. It was the best decision I’ve ever made.”

The following week, after a particularly easygoing day at work, you decide to stop by the bar for your regular visit. The familiar sight of the dimly lit interior and the hum of conversations usually bring you comfort, but tonight, something feels off.

As you walk in, your eyes immediately land on Heeseung behind the bar. Relief washes over you, but it’s short-lived. Standing in front of him is a blonde girl, effortlessly beautiful, with a radiant smile. She's leaning over the counter, clearly flirting with him.

You freeze for a moment, feeling a pang of something sharp and unwelcome in your chest. Jealousy. It's a bitter taste, one you’re not used to, but there it is, gnawing at you as you watch them. The blonde girl is everything you feel you’re not—gorgeous, confident, and completely at ease.

Heeseung laughs at something she says, and it’s a sound you’ve come to cherish. But hearing it now, directed at someone else, it feels like a punch to the gut. You glance down at your work attire, feeling frumpy and out of place compared to her chic outfit.

Taking a deep breath, you steel yourself and walk towards the bar, determined to act like everything is normal. As you approach, Heeseung’s eyes meet yours, and for a brief moment, his smile falters. He quickly recovers, but you can see the flicker of surprise and perhaps guilt in his eyes.

"Hey, Y/N!" Heeseung greets you with his usual warmth, but you can’t help but notice the way the blonde girl glances at you, her expression curious but dismissive.

"Hi, Heeseung," you reply, forcing a smile. You sit down a few seats away from the blonde, not wanting to intrude but unable to completely leave.

Heeseung shifts his attention to you, his gaze lingering as if trying to gauge your mood. "The usual?" he asks, already reaching for a glass.

"Yeah, thanks," you say, your voice coming out steadier than you feel.

The blonde girl pouts a little, clearly annoyed by the interruption. "I was just telling Heeseung about this new club that opened downtown," she says, trying to pull his focus back to her. "Maybe he could come check it out with me sometime."

You feel your heart sink further at her words, but you try to keep your face neutral. Heeseung, however, surprises you. He doesn’t immediately respond to her invitation. Instead, he finishes making your drink and slides it over to you, his hand brushing yours ever so slightly.

"Here you go, Y/N," he says, his voice soft. Then he turns to the blonde girl, his smile polite but distant. "I'll think about it, but I’m pretty busy these days."

The blonde girl looks disappointed but doesn’t push further. She lingers for a few more minutes, trying to engage him in conversation, but Heeseung’s attention keeps drifting back to you. Eventually, she gets the hint and leaves, though not without casting you one last curious glance.

As soon as she’s gone, Heeseung leans across the bar, closer to you. "You okay?" he asks, concern evident in his eyes.

You take a sip of your drink, the familiar taste grounding you a little. "Yeah, just a long day," you reply, managing a small smile.

Heeseung studies you for a moment, then nods. "Well, I’m here if you need to talk," he says, his voice gentle.

You nod, feeling a bit better knowing he cares. The jealousy still lingers, but seeing the way he prioritizes you over her, even subtly, helps ease some of the sting. For now, that's enough.

Over the next few minutes, the bar starts to fill up, and Heeseung gets busier, but he still finds moments to check on you, giving you reassuring smiles or quick touches on your hand whenever he passes by. It helps, but the image of the blonde girl still lingers in your mind, gnawing at your insecurities.

You watch Heeseung work, marveling at his ease and grace. He moves behind the bar with practiced efficiency, chatting with customers, mixing drinks, and flashing that charming smile. It’s clear why people are drawn to him.

“Another drink?” Heeseung asks, stopping in front of you.

“Sure,” you reply, handing him your empty glass.

As he makes your drink, you can’t help but blurt out, “She seemed nice.”

Heeseung glances at you, a small smirk playing on his lips. “Who? Amelia?”

“Yeah, her,” you say, trying to keep your tone casual.

“She’s a regular. Comes in every now and then,” he explains, sliding your drink over. “But I wouldn’t read too much into it. She flirts with everyone.”

You raise an eyebrow. “Everyone?”

“Everyone,” he confirms, his smirk widening. “It’s just her way.”

You nod, feeling slightly better but still uneasy. “Well, she’s really pretty.”

Heeseung leans closer, lowering his voice. “So are you, Y/N.”

You blink, caught off guard by his comment. “I—what?”

“I mean it,” he says, his eyes sincere. “You’re pretty, and you’re interesting. I enjoy our conversations a lot more than random flirtations.”

You feel your cheeks heat up, and you look away, flustered. “Thanks, Heeseung.”

“Anytime,” he replies softly.

Just then, a group of rowdy customers enters the bar, and Heeseung has to attend to them. You take a deep breath, letting his words sink in. It feels good to hear that from him, to know he sees you differently.

As the evening progresses, the crowd in the bar begins to thin out. Heeseung wipes down the counter, glancing at you with a playful smile. He sets down his cloth and approaches you, the energy between you two crackling with unspoken words.

“You know, Y/N,” he says, leaning closer, “I’m due for a break. Mind if I join you for a bit?”

“Not at all,” you reply, your heart racing with anticipation.

Heeseung slips around the bar and takes a seat next to you. He stretches his legs out and leans back, looking more relaxed than you’ve ever seen him while working. His scent infiltrates your nostrils. The cologne he was wearing wasn’t remarkably strong, but it mixed with the scent of fresh laundry and a little sweat. You thought the combination worked quite well. “So, how’s your night going so far?” he asks, his eyes twinkling with mischief.

“It’s better now that you’re here,” you say, your voice soft and genuine.

Heeseung laughs, a sound that sends warmth through you. “Glad to hear it,” he says. “It’s nice to get a break and actually talk to you without having to rush around.”

“I was thinking the same thing,” you say, feeling a growing confidence. “It’s good to have some uninterrupted time with you.”

Heeseung’s eyes lock onto yours, and the intensity of his gaze makes your pulse quicken. “I’ve been looking forward to this all week,” he admits. “It’s like the highlight of my Fridays.”

You smile, feeling a thrill at his words. “Really? I didn’t know I had such an effect on you.”

“You have no idea,” he says, his voice dropping to a low, intimate tone. “I find myself thinking about you more than I probably should.”

You laugh softly, feeling a blush rise to your cheeks. “I guess that makes two of us then.”

Heeseung shifts closer, his arm brushing against yours. “You know, Y/N,” he says, his voice husky, “I’ve been wanting to ask you something.”

“What’s that?” you ask, your breath catching.

“Do you want anything to eat?” he asks, his eyes searching yours.

You feel a little disappointed at his question. You’re not quite sure what you expected but if your were being honest, you were hoping he’d finally ask you out. Moving past the disappointment, you feel a sudden surge of boldness, you lean in slightly, your lips curving into a mischievous smile. “You,” you reply, your voice barely above a whisper.

Heeseung’s eyes widen slightly in surprise before a slow, delighted smile spreads across his face. “Is that so?” he murmurs, his voice thick with amusement and something deeper.

“It is,” you confirm, holding his gaze.

The playful banter between you intensifies, and Heeseung inches closer, his face now mere inches from yours. “you sure you can handle me baby?” he says softly, his breath mingling with yours.

For a moment, the world around you seems to disappear. Heeseung’s eyes are locked on yours, and you can feel the magnetic pull between you. He inches closer, his breath mingling with yours, and you realize that this moment could change everything.

“Wanna find out?” you ask, your heart soaring with anticipation.

Heeseung takes hold of your hand, leading you through a door at the back of the bar, up a narrow staircase that creaks under your feet. The air grows warmer, and the intimacy of the space makes your pulse race.

Heeseung unlocks the door and pushes it open, revealing a cozy, modest apartment. The soft glow of a lamp casts a warm light over the room, highlighting the simple, comfortable furnishings. It feels like a sanctuary, a place where the rest of the world fades away.

Heeseung turns to you, his expression serious but tender. “I want you to feel comfortable here,” he says. “If at any point you want to stop, just let me know.”

You step closer, reaching out to touch his arm. “I trust you, Heeseung,” you say, your voice steady despite the butterflies in your stomach.

He smiles, a mixture of relief and desire in his eyes. “Come here,” he murmurs, pulling you into his arms.

The embrace is electric, and you feel the tension between you dissolve as you melt into each other. Heeseung’s lips find yours in a kiss that is both gentle and passionate, a promise of everything you’ve both been yearning for.

He leads you further into the apartment, his hands never leaving yours. The world outside fades away as you step into the intimacy of his space, every touch and whisper drawing you closer together.

Heeseung guides you to the couch, sitting down and pulling you onto his lap. The feel of his body against yours is intoxicating, and you lose yourself in the sensation of his hands exploring your back, your sides, your face.

“You drive me crazy, you know that?” Heeseung murmurs against your lips, his voice filled with a raw honesty that makes your heart ache.

“I know the feeling,” you reply, your fingers threading through his hair.

You leaned in and kissed him again. The kiss becoming hungrier, the both of you unfraid to show how needy you were for each other.

You could feel his growing length pressing against your clothed core, the both of you letting out a small moan when you ground your hips against him.

He reached down and pulled up your skirt, slipping his fingers inside your panties and finding you wet and ready for him “shit baby you’re so wet”. You gasped as he stroked your clit, his long, slender fingers applying just the right amount of pressure to get you squirming on top of him.

“shit, seung feels so good” his fingers slide down your folds, prodding at your whole. Without warning he slips one in, that singular finger reaching places you haven’t with your own. “You’re all I’ve wanted since I met you”, Heeseung tells you, his words making you clench around him , “m-me too”. He quickens his movements inserting a second, and then a third, the coil in your lower belly snapping at his “seung im cumming” you hardly manage to get out.

“let go for me baby, show me how good I make you feel” without another word, you’re coming undone.

Desperate for more, you reach to unbutton his pants pulling out his hard dick. It was long and thick. You didnt deem it possible for a penis to be considered pretty, but that’s the only word you could think of at the sight in from of you. You couldn't wait to feel him

“like what you see?” he asks. confidence in his voice, it was a stark contrast from how gentle he was towards you on your frequent visits to the bar. It made him all the more desireable. “mhm more than like”

You wrapped your lips around his mushroom tip and sucked him deep into your mouth. His length being enveloped bya warmth that had his eyes rolling to the back do his head. “shit baby”.

You clench around nothing, the newfound nickname one you never watched to stop hearing.

He groaned and grabbed your head, running his fingers through your hair, gripping it. You could feel him getting closer to cumming, but You didn't want him to just yet. You pull away and His eyes shoot open, looking at you with confusion “are you okay?” you smirk at him, climbing up from your spot and straddling his lap “mhm i’m more than okay”. You guided his dick to your entrance, teasing the tip on your slick. You slowly sank onto his cock, a low groan escaping his throat at the newfound feeling of your tight, wet heat.

“hee” you moaned, digging your nails into his shoulder at the feel of him stretching you so deliciously. “I got you pretty, s-shit you feel so good around me” He smashes his lips against yours, capturing you in a hungry kiss.

He pulls out slowly, whining at the loss, only to let out a loud moan as he slid back in, inch by inch until he was buried to the hilt. He repeated the action several more times until you grew frustrated with the pace. “Hee, please go harder”. At your plea, he snaps his hips forward, faster and harder, making you cry out in pure pleasure.

He grabbed your hips and thrust up into you, harder and faster, “y/n… come on baby cum for me”. You could feel yerself getting closer to cumming. You leaned back and ground your hips against him, rubbing your clit against his pelvis.

“hee i’m so close”. He reached up and squeezed your tits, pinching your nipples “so close, I can feel it”. You moaned, your pussy clenching around his dick. Felling you come undone around his cock, he couldn't hold back any longer. He grabbed your hips and pulled you down, cumming deep inside you. “f-fuck baby. so good”.

You pull yourself off his lap, collapsing next to him onto the couch, He joins you not a minute later, pulling you to him, your heard laying on his chest, hearing the quickened beats of his heart begin to settle down back into their normal rhythm. You lay there, panting and sweaty, for a few moments.

"I’ve been wanting to do that since I first saw you” He confessed. You couldn’t help but laugh at his honest revelation. “yeah well, at least i’m not the only one”, you tell him, a smile spreading across your face, as you look up at him.

He grinned down at you leaning in to press a soft kiss on your lips. "so…" he started as he pulled away, “I don’t want this to be a one time thing… but I also don’t want it to be casual”.

Your heart skipped a beat the moment you heard his confession. You’d fallen for him the moment you met, and the time you spent together did nothing to but increase those feelings. “well it’s a good thing I feel the same way then”, You smile, your big brown eyes bright, filled with promise as you kissed him again. The promise that you wanted him just as much as he wanted you.

THE GIRL FROM THE BAR Lhs

Heeseung smiles, a genuine and reassuring smile that makes your heart flutter.

Heeseung leans against the counter, his gaze steady on you.

"Well, I'm glad I came in then”.

HOW TO (NOT) BE A BROKEN HEART.

PROLOGUE. LOVE ISN’T A EASY THING..

Saying that romantic relationships were one of your strong points will most certainly be a huge lie. You've never really had a serious relationship, and your last relationship was a few years ago now. So obviously, saying that you were currently dating Beomgyu, one of the most popular boys in your high school, was quite strange.

Beomgyu was one of the best students in his class, if not one of the best. He was a member of a rock band with four other students in his class who happened to be his best friends, and of course, being a popular student means countless girls interested in him. And, looking at you next to him, you didn't know what to think, you were a shy girl, who spent most of her time reading books. The complete opposite of Beomgyu, so obviously he was quite curious to know that you were going out with him.

When your relationship was made public in high school, all the girls who were interested in your boyfriend gave you a number of dirty looks, and you quickly understood that they just wanted your relationship to end quickly. Apart from the girls, the boys around never took their eyes off you, well... no one took their eyes off you because the scene was so unimaginable.

Your hand was in his, and just feeling all his eyes on you, you felt a lump forming in the pit of your stomach because of the stress and unease you felt inside of you. In truth, you only had one desire since you entered the high school establishment. To hide.

Noticing your discomfort and your slight withdrawal when Beomgyu advanced through the corridors, he let go of your hand simply so that his arm came around your shoulder while he whispered in your ear. "Don't worry about all the looks you want to get okay? They're just jealous to know that such a beautiful girl as you is finally taken by the most incredible boy in this school.." and, onwards from what he had just said, a kiss had been placed on your cheek.

But unfortunately, beomgyu's words had done the opposite rather than reassuring you. You looked up at him, and without knowing why you felt almost your whole body trembling, imagining what you could potentially feel as the day progressed simply because you knew how much girls could be pests when it was about the boys. And unfortunately, Beomgyu was one of the most popular with girls.

"Beomgyu.. I don't feel comfortable.. all the girls are looking at me.." you started to explain while you felt close to crying while tears were present on the corner of your lips. And right now it was at this very moment that you hated being more sensitive than normal. "I've already explained to you... the girls will possibly hate me if she doesn't already hate me and... I'm afraid of what could happen to me during the day when you're not with me.. "

"Don't worry, I promised you that at least one person would be with you all the time when I wasn't there.. Taehyun is in your class, right?" beomgyu asked you, and after a few seconds you ended up nodding your head, responding with a yes. "In this case I would tell him to pay attention to you during lessons, and to defend you if ever necessary, but believe me you wouldn't have any problems, okay?"

Despite everything Beomgyu could tell you to reassure you about the day ahead, your mind kept creating many horrible scenarios where you found yourself the victim of several things because of the girls in your class who were jealous . And just with what you imagined you already hated the fact of having agreed to reveal your relationship in broad daylight, but just at this very moment, with all his eyes on you, you felt extremely bad at it. You were comfortable and you really didn't feel in your element. You just wanted to hide far, far away from everyone. It wasn't even eight o'clock yet when, deep down you knew, the day was going to be very long.

Noticing every detail about your discomfort, Beomgyu tried once again to reassure you, but nothing worked, you were stuck on the idea that, after leaving Beomgyu to join your class, you will be the victim of everything the girls can tell you. to suffer, despite the presence of his best friend in your class.

The corridors starting to empty due to the first ring that would soon be heard, Beomgyu took your face in his hands and delicately placed his lips against yours, a smile appearing lightly on your lips at this contact that you liked so much , but he finally cut contact a few seconds later, delicately caressing your cheeks. "see you at lunch break okay sweetie? and don't worry everything will be fine i promise, taehyun will be there for you" he whispered before quickly running towards the stairs to get to his classroom.

And you had to do the same thing since the time was getting closer and closer to the start of classes.

The halls were now almost empty, and you said surprised to notice almost no one in the halls you had taken to get to your classroom. When you looked up, you noticed that Taehyun was leaning against the wall, his phone in his hand, probably waiting for you, as you had told Beomgyu before he disappeared. And your stress decreased slightly while a smile appeared on your lips, reassured.

Except that, as soon as you raised your hand to wave at him, you were pulled to the right suddenly, and it took you several seconds before you understood where you could be. But noticing the walls and the numerous sinks, you quickly realized that you were in the girls' bathroom. The only problem was that you had just been dragged here, and you hadn't just gone there alone, so obviously this stress had quickly taken over your body.

Without even having time to understand, you were locked in one of the cabins present and, despite all your efforts to get out, you couldn't do it. Your stress began to turn into fear as you began pounding on the door, hoping that the people who brought you inside would let you out. "Hey, that's not funny! Let me go, classes will start soon!" You shouted but no response was heard in return.

The only thing you heard was much too high-pitched laughter and running water. And you froze almost instantly as you realized what was potentially going to happen, while the girls on the other side of the booth seemed to be laughing a lot more as it went on and were whispering among themselves. Your hands had started drumming against the cabin door again but still no way to get out. "It's not fun let me out!!" Did you scream a second time hoping they would let you out.

"Don't dream, we're not going to get you out now!" Had said one of the girls before their laughter resumed, the water still flowing, and just hearing the sentence made you hate the girl no matter who she was.

Despite your many efforts the door still didn't seem to open and, after what seemed like long minutes, the sound of water finally stopped. Which quickly made you panic since you imagined the worst, and unfortunately you started to cry because of the anxiety.

"Go ahead and do it, she deserves it anyway!" A girl's voice said from behind the cabin door.

"But I'm not bad! It was Syeon's idea! She should be the one to do it!" A second girl's voice said as you really wondered what was happening.

But you didn't have enough time to understand that you received the contents of a basin filled with water on your head, which directly wet your hair and completely ruined your uniform.

From the other side of the cabin, the girls' laughter had started up again as they couldn't believe that one of them had finally just thrown all the water at you. And quickly the laughter had faded in the toilets since they had finally left, but one of them had stayed longer since you could still see her converse through the space which separates the floor from the door of the bathroom.

"That's because you're dating Beomgyu." she said without any kindness present in her voice, and as the bathroom door opened she added. "We'll start again soon, don't worry about that."

And then, there was no more noise around you. Except that, even if you tried, you couldn't open the cabin door.

Only two minutes had passed, and you ended up sitting on the toilet and just letting the tears roll down your cheeks while you didn't even know what to do. It hadn't even been an hour since you made your relationship with Beomgyu official that girls were already starting to make you experience this type of thing? No, it wasn't possible... you weren't one of his daughters who boasted about going out with a popular boy... you were actually quite the opposite.

Your hope continued to make you imagine many things and your hands, which were resting on your knees, tightened on them, gripping your tights. You weren't angry, you were just... completely lost and on top of that you were going to be late for the first class, or weren't even going to be able to show up in the classroom.

Your cries could be heard throughout the restroom, but when the door opened again you tried to make as little noise as possible, trembling at the idea that it was one of his daughters again. come to humiliate you once again.

"Is anyone there?" Came the voice of a girl who didn't seem to be mean at all and understanding this you got back up and knocked on the cabin door. "Yes..! I.. I was locked in a cabin by some girls.. I can't get out.."

"Oh...! I'm going to find a teacher and I'll be right back!" She replied before the door closed again and you found yourself alone in the room again.

After about ten minutes, and the bell announcing the start of classes, the bathroom door opened again and the voice of a teacher was heard on the other side.

"Are you sure there's a girl stuck in the Chaeryeong toilet?" She asked as she walked towards the cabin you were stuck in.

"Yes...! It was towards that cabin...!" She replied.

And almost immediately the two girls had noticed something blocking the door handle of a cabin so quickly, it was removed and the door in front of you opened.

Chaeryeong brought her hands to her lips to cover her mouth, noticing the state you were in while the teacher took you out of there, taking your bag at the same time. And although you were happy to finally leave the bathroom stall your crying hadn't stopped as you left the bathroom.

But you were quickly stopped because a boy's voice had shouted your name, and when you turned around you were surprised to notice Taehyun who had quickly arrived towards you.

"My god, what happened to you?!" He asked when he saw the state of your uniform, drops of water falling against the floor. "Do you want me to talk to Beomgyu about this?" He asked you and strangely you shook your head to mean no, probably too humiliating for your boyfriend to know about this incident.

"Mr. Kang, please go back to class," said the teacher next to you, who was holding your arm, "Chaeryeong will come with you, she is also in your class, and tell your teacher that your classmate is in the infirmary please."

"Yes Ms. Yang.." he both replied before they left towards the classroom, leaving you alone with the teacher.

You went down the stairs and after several minutes you ended up in the infirmary. On the way, the teacher asked you many questions to find out what had happened to cause you to unfortunately find yourself in a state like this, but the lump in your stomach that you had felt a little earlier had you completely prevented from speaking.

Fortunately she didn't insist, and when you were in the hands of the nurse she left you, leaving the infirmary to go to her classroom.

And it was at that precise moment that you understood that, unfortunately, the day was going to be very, very long. But you also understood something else...

There was absolutely nothing easy about love.

And that, only because of his daughters who were completely jealous of the idea of you being in a relationship with Beomgyu..

HOW TO (NOT) BE A BROKEN HEART.

CRUSH LEE HEESEUNG

The sound of the school bell could be heard in the crowded hallway as students talked among themselves before hurrying to their classes upon hearing it. Before moving away from you and heading to her own classroom, the girl you were speaking with waved her hand. You waved back.

just as you turned around your face collide with something, or rather someone. You assumed that their chest was what you bumped into. (Fortunately, you did not stumble too much.)

"I'm so sorry. I wasn't—" your words got stuck in your throat as you faced the person.

Lee Heeseung

In all of his glory, Lee Heeseung was standing in front of you. the morning sun kissing his skin. his flawlessly natural disheveled hair resting slightly above his eyes on his forehead. His brown eyes are staring into yours. A smile that resembles a smirk forms on his gorgeous lips.

You stand there staring at each other for a few seconds or longer before you tell yourself to stop losing yourself in your crush's gaze.

Now that you were no longer lost in his eyes—

his oh so gorgeous eyes. the way they always have spark in them. his Bambi eyes. He's so beautifu—

wait- Y/n this isn't time to get lost in him. You remind yourself.

You averte your gaze from him. —now that you weren't lost in his eyes, you suddenly feel nervous. There was not a perticular reason as to why you feel nervous around him.

His presence was enough to make you nervous.

Everyone feels nervous around their crushes, right?

Before you get the chance to speak Heeseung beat you to it "careful, princess" he's heavenly voice call out. the endearment name causing the butterflies in your stomach to go wild. you look at him one last time before nodding and sprinting towards your classroom.

you were the last person to arrive at class, as you expect. You sat besides your best friend, haerin. The aforementioned girl did not even raise her head from her notebook. You give her a glance before giving her a shoulder tap. She observes you. As a silent greeting, you smile and wave your hand. She gives you a quick smile of her own before returning to her studies.

You are accustomed to it because that was typical Haerin behavior.

The professor soon arrived and began the lesson, which you could not understand, but it was okay because you had Haerin, so she would explain things to you later.

She breaks down these tedious lessons into understandable chunks so you can ace every test and pass with a "A."

You yawn with sheer boredom.

Lee Heeseung is someone you wish you could take a class with so you could just admire and gaze at his beautiful form. However, your bad luck because he was a year ahead of you.

When recess time rolled around, you found yourself in the school cafeteria with Haerin and your other female friends, Garam and Eunchae. These two were in the middle of an argument when Garam asserted that she was older than artificial intelligence, or rather, AI, and Eunchae was trying to convince her that AI had existed long before she was born. (You and haerin can end the their banter by saying eunchae is right but chose not to. this was funny to you)

Your gaze stray before settling on Lee Heeseung, who is seated a few tables away from you with his friends.

God, even just sitting there, he looks so ethereal. He was laughing over something his friend had said. He has such a lovely smile. the way his eyes crinkle. Ah he would be the death of me—

It was not until Lee Heeseung made eye contact with you that you realised you were staring. His brow lifts, and a small smirk forms on his lips. you were unable to resist your eyes automatically locking onto his lips. Your eyes dart back to his, which were now glimmering with playful teasing. Your heart pounding in your chest, almost like it wants to burst. You avert your gaze from him.

Lee heeseung is so fucking perfect for his own good.

Everyone says that once you leave school And graduate, you'll miss your high school life but you don't think so. School is boring. Like what do you mean you have to get up early in the morning just for boring lessons and tests?

If it were not for Lee Heeseung, you would not even bother to come to school.

(Just kidding. You are concerned about education and attendance.)

The primary reason, though, would be Lee Heeseung.

Just like that the last ringing of the day could be heard indicating that you can leave school now. Hufff finally.

You bid your friends goodbye as they did the same. You proceed toward the exit gate.

You ventured outside and followed a similar path until you saw a familiar figure leaning on a bike. awaiting your arrival.

Lee Heeseung.

He said, "Hey princess," holding out his hand for you to take, and you did once you were close enough.

Your brown iris shyly peering into his dark, beautiful one. Your mouth quivering into a tiny, uncontrollable smile. You say "hii" in return.

Your hands, which you were unaware were on his chest, slide up towards his neck as his one arm slides down to your slender waist. With his hand around your waist, he pulled you into his eagerly anticipated, firm yet cozy embrace.

Breathing in your cent that drives him crazy, he closed his eyes. His hand caressing the back of your head, mindlessly stocking your silky hair. He can feel his heart thumping in sync with yours as if they've realize they were closer to the one they desire. His lips gently brushing the top of your head, planting a kiss.

Your insides flutter at what he did. You feel yourself falling for your lee heeseung a little bit more.

you slightly looks up at him. Your eyes meeting his for mere few seconds as you cannot, for your life, hold his gaze. You get on your toes to shyly press kiss to the area of his jaw you could reach with your short height.

He encircles you with slightly tighter arms.

You both stay like that for few more moments, not wanting to pull away just yet, before pulling away from the embrace. His hands finding yours.

Saying "common baby," he assisted you in donning the helmet before he pulled you toward his bike.

You firmly wrapped your arms around his waist from behind once you had both get comfortable on his bike. As he starts the bike, you feel the warm wind against you.

You rest your head on his back, closing your eyes.

You feel heated by the heat emanating from his body, so even though the winds are getting colder over time, it does not affect you.

Gosh You love and adore times like this one with him, or you simply adoree him so much that you value and cherish and love every moment you spend with him.

You just love Lee heeseung so much.

 HAPPINESS IS A BUTTERFLY.

THE CITY LIGHTS OF SEOUL CAST A DIM GLOW THROUGH THE CURTAINS, GIVING THE LIVING ROOM A SOFT, MELANCHOLIC HUE. you sit on the edge of the couch, your fingers gripping the cushion fabric tightly as you watch heeseung pace back and forth. the tension in the room is unavoidable, a storm brewing between you both that you can no longer hold back.

“i just don’t understand why you can’t see it from my perspective, y/n” heeseung’s voice breaks through the silence, his frustration evident. his normally warm eyes filled with love are now filled with a mix of anger and hurt, emotions that you rarely see in him.

you take a deep breath, trying to steady your racing heart. “it’s not that i don’t see it, hee. it’s just that you never listen to me either. it’s always about your schedule, your fans, your career. what about us? what about me? it’s unfair…”

he stops pacing and turns to face you, his brows furrowed in confusion and disbelief. “are you fucking serious? you think i don’t care about us? everything i do, i do it for us, for our future.”

“do you?” you ask, your voice trembling at the visible anger in his voice. “because it feels like i’m always the one compromising. i’m always the one waiting, always the one understanding. when do you make time for me? you can’t expect me to just sit here silently and take all this.”

heeseung runs a hand through his hair, a gesture you know he does when he’s stressed. “you knew what you were getting into when we started this, i warned you. you knew my life would be demanding and time consuming.”

“i didn’t know it would be this hard,” you whisper, tears welling up in your eyes. “i didn’t know i would feel so lonely even when i’m right here with you.”

the room falls silent, the weight of your words hanging heavily in the air. heeseung looks at you, his hard glare softening as he takes in your expression.

he takes a step closer. “i never wanted you to feel lonely honey, i thought… i thought we were okay.” he says placing his hand on your cheek as you softly take it off, heeseung noticing the gesture as he looks down in shame.

you wipe away a tear, your voice breaking. “we’re not okay, heeseung. we haven’t been for a while, and you know it. i’ve tried to be strong, to support you, but it’s exhausting. i miss you even when you’re right here, i miss the old you, not the heeseung who acts like spending time with me is an obligation.”

heeseung kneels in front of you, taking your hands in his. his touch is warm, familiar, but it doesn’t bring the comfort it used to. “i miss you too baby, i promise I’m still the same heeseung” he says as his voice breaks, his voice barely above a whisper. “i’m so sorry baby, you know i love you.”

you look into his eyes, searching for the sincerity in his words. you see it there, but it’s not enough to mend the damage that has been done in your heart. “missing each other isn’t enough, heeseung. we need more than that. we need to actually be there for each other.”

he squeezes your hands gently, his eyes pleading. “tell me what to do. tell me how to fix this. i don’t want to lose you, i’m not letting you go.” tears brimming in his eyes, desperate.

you sigh, pulling your hands away. “i don’t know if it’s something you can fix hee, i think… i think we need time apart to figure out what we really want and need.”

heeseung’s face falls, the colour draining from his cheeks. “t-time apart? you’re breaking up with me?”

“no,” you say quickly, your heart aching at the sight of his heart broken expression. “i just… i need space to think. we both do. maybe then we can come back and make this work, all we do is argue, heeseung.”

he stands up slowly, his shoulders slumped in defeat. “if that’s what you want.”

“it’s not what i want,” you say, your voice cracking. “but it’s what we need. i love you, heeseung, but love isn’t enough right now.”

he nods, swallowing hard. “i get it. i don’t like it, but i get it.”

you stand as well, wrapping your arms around yourself as if you’re trying to hold yourself together. “i’m sorry it’s come to this.”

heeseung steps forward, hesitating before pulling you into a tight embrace. you cling to him, burying your face in his chest as the tears you’ve been holding back finally fall. he rests his chin on top of your head, his own tears rolling down his cheeks, dampening your hair.

“me too, honey” he whispers. “i’m so sorry.”

you stay like that for what feels like an eternity, holding each other as if it’s the last time as the dim lights of seoul shine down on you. in some ways, it feels like it is the last time you’ll be in each others embrace. when you finally pull away, the distance between you feels even bigger.

heeseung walks you to the door, holding his tears back as his hand lingers on the doorknob. “take care of yourself, okay?”

“you too,” you reply, giving him a small, sad smile. “i hope we can fix this, hee.”

“me too,” he says again, his voice barely audible.

you step outside, before you could walk away you feel a grip on your wrist.

“i love you, i always will.” heeseung whispers.

you give him a broken smile as you pull your arm out of his grasp.

“i love you too..”

you reply as you finally leave the apartment along with the love of your life. the cool night air hitting your tear-streaked face. as you walk away, you can’t help but glance back, seeing heeseung standing in the doorway, watching you go. the sight breaks your heart all over again, you want to run back to him, to be with him forever, but you force yourself to keep walking.

back in the apartment, heeseung closes the door and leans against it, sliding down to the floor. the silence is deafening, the absence of your presence a constant reminder of what he’s lost. he covers his face with his hands, finally letting the sobs he’s been holding back escape.

the record player continues to spin, a melody echoing off the walls of the empty room;

"happiness is a butterfly

try to catch it like every night

it escapes from my hands into moonlight"

his body shakes with his sobs as the song plays on, your favourite song. heeseung realizes that happiness, like a butterfly, is fragile and fleeting. and in that moment, he vows to do whatever it takes to catch it again, to hold onto the love that he wholeheartedly knows he can’t live without.

 CIGARETTE DAYDREAMS

YOU WIPED AWAY THE TEARS STREAMING DOWN YOUR FACE, BUT IT WAS A LOST CAUSE. the rain was pouring harder than ever, soaking through your thin jacket and leaving you shivering.

school had been unbearable today, as it often was. the whispers, the taunts, the constant reminder that you didn’t belong.

you were the poor girl, the one with hand-me-down clothes and an empty lunchbox. it didn’t help that your family’s financial troubles were well-known; kids could be cruel, and they nitpicked every single thing about you.

you trudged along the sidewalk, the weight of your wet backpack pulling at your shoulders. you didn’t even bother taking the bus anymore. it was just another place where you were an easy target. walking home in the rain was better than enduring more whispers and laughs.

lost in your thoughts as your body shook with every cry, you didn’t notice the sleek black car pulling up beside you until the window rolled down. you glanced over, startled, and your eyes met a handsome boy with big, round bambi-like eyes.

he was sitting in the back seat, looking at you with a mixture of curiosity and concern. his pristine uniform and polished appearance was definitely a contrast to your bedraggled state.

“hey,” he called out, his voice soft but warm over the sound of the rain. “are you okay?”

you wanted to shrug it off, to say you were fine, but the lump in your throat made it impossible to speak. instead, you just shook your head, tears mingling with the raindrops on your cheeks.

the man’s expression softened. “do you want a ride home? you look like you could use one.”

you hesitated. accepting help from someone like him, a rich student from a private school, felt strange. but the genuine look of kindness in his eyes made you nod reluctantly, praying to god that this wasn’t some other sick joke. besides, how could it get any worse?

he opened the door, and you climbed in with hesitation, you felt the warmth of the car enveloping you immediately.

the boy’s driver started the car again, and you sat in silence for a few moments, the tension easing as the heater dried your clothes.

“what happened?” he asked gently, breaking the silence.

“why were you crying?”

you sighed, the weight of the day pressing down on you. “it’s nothing. just...school stuff.”

he frowned, clearly not convinced. “doesn’t seem like nothing. you can talk to me, you know.”

the sincerity in his voice surprised you. you didn’t expect someone like him to care. “it’s just...i don’t fit in,” you admitted quietly.

“people make fun of me because i don’t have nice clothes or money. they make me feel like i’m less than them.”

his jaw tightened at your words, and he looked out the window for a moment before turning back to you. “that’s not fair. you’re worth just as much as anyone else, we’re all human at the end of the day.”

his words made your heart ache. you wanted to believe him, but years of bullying had destroyed your self-esteem. “thanks, uh..” you whispered, not knowing what else to say as you didn’t know the boys name.

he let out a soft giggle as he stuck out his hand to shake yours,

“lee heeseung.”

from that day on, heeseung made it his mission to look out for you. he would find you after school, waiting to walk you home or offer a ride. he became a friend, a protector, and a source of comfort to you.

slowly, you began to open up to him, sharing your hopes and dreams for the future.

in turn, he shared his life with you, showing you that wealth didn’t shield him from loneliness or pressure.

 CIGARETTE DAYDREAMS

one afternoon, heeseung came to pick you up from school, his usual smile immediately replaced with a concerned frown as he saw the scene in front of him.

two boys from your class were leaning on you, laughing as they made you carry their bags. you were struggling under the weight, your face flushed with humiliation and discomfort.

“hey!” heeseung shouted, storming over. “get away from her, assholes.” he said with an unfamiliar, dark gaze- different from the soft and gentle look he always gives you.

the boys looked up, surprised to see someone like heeseung at your school, his private school uniform almost mocking them.

they sneered, “why help her man? she’s just some broke bitch, don’t concern yourself-“

but before they could continue, heeseung was on them. he grabbed the nearest boy and shoved him away from you, his eyes blazing with fury as he got on top of him and threw punches after punches onto the man begging for him to stop.

“touch her again, say anything or even look at her again and you’ll regret it,” heeseung growled.

“i’ll make sure you’re expelled and sued. you think you can mess with her because she doesn’t have money? think again.”

the boys, realizing they were outmatched, scrambled away, leaving their bags behind. you stood there, stunned, watching heeseung’s chest heave with anger. when he turned back to you, his expression softened immediately.

“are you okay?” he asked, his voice gentle again as he felt his eyes well up with tears as he thought about you having to endure this everyday.

you nodded, tears welling up in your eyes. “thank you, heeseung. you didn’t have to do that- no one’s ever done that for me..”

he shook his head, reaching out to gently touch your shoulder. “of course i did. no one should ever treat you like that again with me around.”

seeing the cuts and scrapes on his knuckles, you frowned as you you took his hand and led him to a nearby bench.

“let me take care of you now, hee.”

you pulled out a small first-aid kit from your bag, one of the few things your mother insisted you carry after she saw you come home with bruises from a bully.

you cleaned his wounds carefully, your fingers trembling slightly. heeseung watched you, his gaze intense but still comforting you.

“why are you so nice to me?” you asked quietly, not looking up from his hand.

heeseung was silent for a moment, then he sighed. “because you’re special, y/n. you deserve better than what you’ve been given.”

your heart skipped a beat, and you finally met his eyes. there was something there, something that made your chest tighten with a strange feeling you haven’t felt before.

“i like you, y/n,” heeseung confessed, his voice barely above a whisper.

“i’ve liked you since the day i saw you walking in the rain. you’re strong and kind, and you don’t deserve to be treated like this when you’re the warmest soul i’ve ever met in all my years of living, i’m so in love to the point where i feel sick.”

tears spilled over your cheeks again, but this time they were tears of joy. “i love you too, heeseung. you’ve been so good to me, you make me feel like life is more than living in agony, you taught me that people can have good in them too.”

he grinned at you with a lovesick look as he leaned in slowly, giving you time to pull away if you wanted to. but you didn’t. you closed the distance between you, your lips meeting in a gentle, soft kiss.

you cupped heeseung’s face as he grinned and wrapped his arms around your waist- not planning on letting you go anytime soon, now and forever.

the feelings going through you were completely indescribable- you know the feeling of watching fireworks go off at a summer carnival at the very top of the ferris wheel? that’s how you felt kissing lee heeseung.

as you pulled back, heeseung smiled, his eyes shining with love and happiness.

“i’m not going anywhere, y/n. you’re stuck with me now.” he said nudging his nose against yours as you giggled.

you felt a warmth spread through your chest. for the first time in a long time, you felt hopeful.

you had someone who cared about you, someone who saw your worth. and with heeseung by your side, you weren’t gonna let the words from your classmates get to you anymore- you knew your worth.

walking home that day, hand in hand, you felt the world around you shift. it wasn’t perfect, and there would still be challenges ahead of you. but with heeseung’s support, you felt stronger, braver, and hopeful.

the rain had stopped, and the sun was beginning to peek through the clouds, casting a golden glow on the path ahead.

you glanced at heeseung, his face resting with a grin and looking content. he looked back at you, squeezing your hand gently.

in that moment, you knew that no matter what happened, you wouldn’t be alone anymore, you didn’t have to suffer anymore.

you had found a friend, a protector, and even something more.

and that made all the difference in the world.

the months you spend healing with lee heeseung, after your marriage with park sunghoon comes to an end.

if you enjoyed reading ‎⸝⸝ please reblog and like <3

 MY ONLY ONE

you truly had thought sunghoon was it for you, until the last month after you caught him cheating of course.

his messages come in waves, each one crashing against the resolve you've built.

"i love you, y/n. i want a family with you. i'll change, i promise."

but these words have lost their worth to you, worn thin by repetition and unfulfilled promises.

it's a sunny saturday afternoon when you and heeseung find yourselves at the local grocery store. the sunlight filters through the large glass windows, casting a golden hue over the aisles.

you're laughing at something he said, your heart lighter than it has been in months. heeseung smiling down at you as your laugh pulls at his heart strings.

you try reaching for a can on the top shelf, and when you can’t reach it, heeseung towered over uou, holding your waist gently as he put the can in the cart, you couldn’t help but admire the ease with which he moves, the quiet grin in his smile which you know he’s holding back.

your phone buzzes again in your pocket, but you ignore it. you know it's another message from sunghoon.

you truly don’t know why you haven’t blocked him yet, is it cruel that you liked seeing how desperate sunghoon was when that was just you a couple weeks ago begging for him to make it home in time for dinner?

you don't need to look to know the pattern by now; declarations of love, pleas for another chance, and promises of change. but here, with heeseung, those messages feel like echoes from a past you’ve already to leave behind.

as you round the corner to the produce section, you spot the last person you wanted to see, sunghoon. his eyes widen in surprise, he looks horrible, you think. the dark circles under his eyes, his unwashed hair, and the wedding ring still on his finger.

he then narrows his eyes at you and heeseung in a mix of hurt and jealousy.

heeseung quickly notices your change in demeanor and follows your gaze. his hand gently finds your back, his touch reassuring you in a gesture of support that makes you feel grounded.

"y/n," sunghoon says, stepping closer.

there's a desperation in his voice that tugs at something deep inside you, but it’s muted, distant.

"can we talk?"

heeseung's hand remains a steady presence. you draw strength from it, from him.

"sunghoon, there's nothing left to talk about. i’m moving on."

his eyes dart to heeseung, and then back to you.

"with him? really? you know, hes always wanted you for himself!"

you take a deep breath, feeling the weight of the moment. the disrespect he had directed at heeseung sparked anger within you.

"yes, with him. and you know what sunghoon? i’m happy. for the first time in months, and at least he wants only me, he isn’t going around making out with his coworkers while i wait at home.”

sunghoon’s face crumples as you see the tears building up in his eyes, and for a moment, you almost feel sorry.

but then you remember all the times you felt alone even when he was right beside you, all the promises that turned to dust, all the times he slept beside you in your bed after what he did to you. you stand taller, more confidence radiating off of you.

heeseung, sensing the tension, steps forward slightly, shielding you from the sight of sunghoon.

"let's go, y/n," he says softly, his voice a soft wave to your frayed nerves.

sunghoon watches you both walk away, his heart slightly cracking at the sight of heeseung kissing your forehead, his presence lingering like a fading storm.

as you and heeseung leave the store, the air outside feels fresher, the sun warmer, you feel closure.

over the next few weeks, your relationship with heeseung deepens in the most unexpected ways. it's in the small moments; the way he remembers your favorite coffee order, the gentle teasing that makes you laugh until your sides hurt, the silent understanding on the nights where the pain comes back, when words aren’t necessary.

one afternoon, you find yourselves passing time at the park, sitting on a bench as the sun sets. heeseung is telling you about a childhood memory, his eyes sparkling with nostalgia.

you watch him, feeling a warmth spread through your chest.

it's not just attraction—it's comfort, safety, sanctuary and something that feels an awful lot like love.

he catches you staring and raises an eyebrow.

"what? do i have something on my face?"

you laugh, shaking your head.

"no, it's just... i’m happy. really happy, i haven’t been this happy in.. so long"

he smiles, a slow, genuine smile that reaches his eyes.

"me too, y/n. me too."

now it’s months later, your relationship with heeseung is strong, the relationships that feel like they were born out of a fairytale.

there’s a gentleness in his love, a steady reliability that makes you feel cherished.

you're both sitting on your couch, a movie playing in the background. heeseung has his arm around you, and you lean into him, feeling the steady rise and fall of his chest.

you turn to look at him, and he meets your gaze with a soft smile, as he caresses your cheek.

"i love you, heeseung," you suddenly say, the words feeling right and true.

his eyes widen slightly, then soften. he leans down, pressing a gentle kiss to your cheek.

"i love you too, y/n. more than you’ll ever know."

in that moment, surrounded by the quiet hum of the movie and the warmth of his embrace, you know that you've found something real, something lasting.

and as you drift off to sleep in his arms, you know that this is just the beginning of your story together, one without pain and tears.

 L(INKED) TO YOU

YOUR PARENTS’ VOICES ECHOED THROUGH THE HOUSE, their harsh words slicing through the tension-filled air like a knife.

you had always been the "good girl," the one who followed the rules, got good grades, and never stepped out of line, that came along with having super religious parents.

but tonight, everything had changed. the argument had started over something small, wanting to get a tattoo and had quickly escalated into a full-blown fight.

their threats of kicking you out of the house had stung more than you cared to admit. — more under cut !

in a fit of rebellion and hurt at the fact that they would go that far just because of a tattoo, you stormed out of the house, your mind racing in rage and anger.

you had wanted a tattoo for a while, but your parents had always forbidden it.

now, with their words still ringing in your ears, you decided it was time to take control and stop playing the role you’ve been entertaining your whole life to please your parents.

you headed to the tattoo shop downtown, determined to make a statement.

as you pushed open the door, the smell of antiseptic and ink filled your nostrils.

the place was dimly lit, and intimidated you at first with the sight of a place your father would be sure to call “hell on earth”.

with the hum of tattoo machines and low music creating a surprisingly calming atmosphere. you walked up to the counter, your heart pounding in your chest.

"hello, anyone there? i'm here for a tattoo," you called out, your voice wavering slightly.

a figure emerged from the back room, and your breath caught in your throat as you realized who it was.

lee heeseung, the quiet boy who had sat next to you in high school. he had always been shy, rarely speaking and always absorbed in his drawings, and you won’t lie — you had a big crush on him, but he always avoiding speaking to you, turning the other way or putting in headphones to avoid you completely.

now, he looked different—confident, almost cocky, with a smirk playing on his lips, staring you up and down shamelessly.

"no way in hell — y/n?" he asked, his eyes lighting up with recognition.

"lee heeseung?" you replied, equally surprised.

"am i in the right place?"

he chuckled, leaning against the counter.

"you are. what brings you here, y/n? decided to get a little rebellious?"

you felt a blush creep up your cheeks in embarrassment, seeing him under these circumstances.

"something like that. i had a fight with my parents and… i guess i wanted to do something for myself and not for them.."

heeseung's expression softened for a moment before his confident demeanor returned.

"well, you're in good hands. do you know what you want?"

you nodded, pulling out a piece of paper with a simple design you'd been dreaming of for a few months now.

a delicate floral design with a butterfly on your arm, heeseung grinned as he thought of it completely suiting you.

heeseung studied it longer, then looked back at you, his eyes gleaming.

"perfect choice. but are you sure? it can be pretty painful."

you hesitated, the fear of pain momentarily overshadowing your resolve.

seeing your uncertainty, heeseung stepped closer, his voice dropping to a soothing tone.

"don't worry. i'll take care of you."

his words sent a shiver down your spine, and you nodded, allowing him to lead you to the tattoo chair with his hand touching the bare skin of your waist.

he instructed you to lie on your stomach, and you felt a rush of nerves as he prepared the equipment.

his touch was gentle as he positioned you, his fingers brushing against your skin and sending sparks through your body.

as he began the tattoo, you were hyper-aware of every sensation and touch on your skin.

heeseung's touch was surprisingly tender, his hands steady and sure. despite the initial sting, his presence was comforting, and you found yourself relaxing under his care.

"so, tell me," he said, his voice low and teasing.

"what made you, the 'good girl,' decide to get a tattoo?"

you sighed, the pain of the needle mingling with the emotions of the day.

"i've always wanted one, but my parents were against it. they threatened to kick me out if i ever got one. tonight, i just... i had to do something for myself."

heeseung nodded, his focus never wavering from his work.

"well, i'm glad you came to me. i've been wanting to talk to you for a really long time."

your heart skipped a beat at his words as confusion slowly laced your thoughts.

"really? you never seemed interested in high school, you always avoided me!"

he laughed softly, the sound sending warmth through you as you fought back your own smile.

"i know, i’m really sorry. i was shy back then, but trust that i've changed."

as he continued, the air between you grew thick with tension.

heeseung's teasing remarks and the way his fingers brushed against your skin made it hard to concentrate on anything else.

the pain became secondary to the electric connection forming between you.

finally, he finished the tattoo and gently cleaned the area, his touch lingering on your skin.

"all done, it looks beautiful on you.." he announced, his voice soft as he grinned down at your excited face.

you sat up, admiring the new ink. it was perfect, and you felt a sense of gratefulness and empowerment wash over you.

"thank you, heeseung. it's amazing, exactly what i wished for.." you whispered in awe and amazement.

he smirked, leaning in close.

"you're welcome sweet girl, but you still need to pay."

you immediately looked down and reached for your wallet, flustered at the nickname, not wanting him to see the pink on your cheeks.

he put his hand on your wrist — stopping you as his eyes locked in with yours as he smirked at your state.

"you can pay me in another way."

before you could react, heeseung closed the distance between you, capturing your lips in a sudden heated kiss, he bit your lip as you felt yourself melting into his embrace.

his confidence melted away as soon as he felt you pulling back, a shy smile replacing his earlier bravado.

"i'm sorry if that was too forward," he mumbled, his cheeks tinged with pink.

“it’s just.. i’ve wanted to do that since high school, i had the biggest crush on you.”

he mumbled caressing the nape of his own neck, a habit of his you had picked up in high school, he did that when he was nervous.

you giggled in adoration, your heart swelling with affection.

"no, it was perfect — and i always liked you as well, hee.." you whispered before leaning in and placing your lips against his again, this time savouring the moment.

you both took your time as you got swept away into the comfort of each other and arms on each others body.

when you finally pulled away, heeseung gave you a love sick grin as he handed you a piece of paper with his number scribbled on it.

"call me soon?" he said, his voice hopeful.

“i’d like to take you out sometime, i mean — if it’s okay with you!” he rambled making you giggle.

you nodded, a smile spreading across your face.

"it’s more than okay hee, and i will."

as you left the shop, you couldn't help but feel that something significant had shifted in your life.

the tattoo was more than just a symbol of rebellion; it was a reminder of your newfound courage and even finally expressing your true self.

and of course, the unexpected connection you had with heeseung.

with his number in your hand and the fluttering in your heart,

you knew this was just the beginning of your life, of something beautiful.

THE SILENCE TAKING PLACE IN THE APARTMENT WAS SUFFOCATING, each passing moment amplifying the distance that had grown between you and heeseung.

it had been days since the last fight, a mix of hurtful words and angry glances, ending in heeseung taking his pillow and blanket to the couch, needing space away from you.

the echoes of your argument lingered in every corner, a constant reminder of the rift that now separated you.

you sat on the edge of your bed, the weight of your emotions pressing down on you. your eyes wandered to the photograph on your nightstand, - more under cut !

— a picture of you and heeseung, captured in a moment of pure happiness, your wedding. his arm was draped around your shoulders, both of you smiling so brightly it was as if the world had paused to revel in your joy.

the image was a harsh contrast to the current reality, and the ache in your chest grew unbearable as you struggled to hold back tears.

we keep this love in a photograph, we made these memories for ourselves...

tears welled up in your eyes, the dam finally breaking, you missed him.

you missed the way he made you laugh, the way he held you close every night, the way he kissed you, the way he whispered sweet nothings in your ear.

the arguments and misunderstandings seemed so insignificant in the face of your overwhelming love for him.

you can keep me inside the pocket of your ripped jeans...

you buried your face in your hands, your shoulders shaking with sobs, the thought of losing him was too much to bear.

you knew you had to do something, anything, to bridge the gap that had formed between you.

with the sudden determination to be in heeseungs’ embrace again, you wiped away your tears and stood up, making your way to the living room.

heeseung laid on the couch, his form barely visible under the dim light of the room. his face was relaxed in sleep, the lines of stress and anger softened.

you hesitated for a moment, the fear of rejection holding you back.

but the need to feel his warmth, to be close to him, overpowered your doubts.

gently, you lifted the blanket and slipped under it, pressing your body against his. his familiar scent enveloped you, a mixture of his cologne and something uniquely him that nobody else could possibly replace.

you wrapped his arms around your body, seeking comfort in his embrace.

the sobs you had tried to stifle came back with a vengeance, your body shaking with the force of your emotions as the feelings you had been hiding away deep in your heart coming out.

heeseung stirred, his brows furrowing as he woke up. the sensation of your tears on his bare neck and trembling body against his jolted him fully awake.

"y/n?" his voice was thick with sleep and concern.

you couldn’t find the courage to respond to him, scared he would banish you back into that room which felt like a prison without him in there.

"baby, what's wrong?"

"i'm sorry," you managed to choke out between sobs.

"i'm so sorry, heeseung. i miss you. i don't want to fight anymore."

“please…”

his arms tightened around you, his warmth seeping into your cold, weary body.

"shh, it's okay," he whispered, his voice soothing.

"i'm sorry too. i've been so stubborn, leaving you all alone like an idiot. i didn't want to hurt you, i’m so sorry baby."

you buried your face in his chest, feeling his own tears soak your neck as you both cried in each other’s embrace, feeling safe and seen after the suffocating few days.

the steady beat of his heart grounded you.

"i love you, heeseung. i love you so much. i can't stand being apart like this ever again."

"i love you too, princess," he murmured, his hand gently stroking your hair.

"we'll get through this. we can overcome anything as long as we're together."

you felt at ease in this very moment, nothing mattered as long as you were in the arms of lee heeseung, the man you loved.

wait for me to come home...

the weight of your emotions began to lift, replaced by a strong feeling of hope.

in heeseung's arms, you felt safe, loved, and understood.

the fight seemed like a distant memory, a hurdle that you had overcome together.

heeseung pulled back slightly, his eyes searching yours as he gave you a soft, reassuring kiss on your forehead.

"let's promise each other something," he said softly.

"no matter how tough things get, we won't let it come between us. we'll talk, we'll listen, and we'll work through it together."

you nodded, tears still streaming down your face but a small smile forming on your lips.

"i promise," you whispered.

"always."

heeseung leaned in, pressing a soft kiss on your lips, relishing in each others touch after being deprived of it for so long.

"always," he echoed.

the two of you lay there, wrapped in each other's arms, a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there was always a way back to each other.

GROWING UP, YOU HAD ALWAYS BEEN THE GOLDEN GIRL. — completely on the top of your all your classes, effortlessly charming, and admired by everyone at school.

heeseung, on the other hand, was the bad influence type boy with a magnetic allure that drew whispers and gazes wherever he went, even having his own fan club.

your paths had rarely crossed throughout all of high school until that fateful afternoon when you found yourself in the same detention room, sentenced to spend an hour together.

the moment you saw lee heeseung in the room, you knew it was going to be one long hour for you. — more under cut !

heeseung leaned against the wall, his expression unreadable as he watched you cautiously take a seat across from him.

"no way— if it isn’t our little golden girl, y/n!" he drawled, breaking the silence with a smirk.

"what trouble did you get yourself into, walking into class two seconds late?"

you shot him a playful glare, feeling a rush of adrenaline at his sudden proximity.

"maybe i just wanted to see what the bad boy was up to,"

you countered, with the boldness of your words, even surprising yourself as you muttered the words out.

his smirk widened into a grin, somehow resembling a cheshire cat as his eyes sparkled with amusement.

"curiosity killed the cat, you know."

but despite his teasing demeanor, there was a flicker of something in his eyes when he let out that genuine smile — a vulnerability that made your heart skip a beat.

and a smile you’re sure you haven’t seen in your four years of attending school together.

as the minutes passed, you surprisingly found yourselves sharing funny stories, telling jokes, and learning unexpected common ground about each other.

you quickly realized after that hour with lee heeseung, he wasn't just the bad boy; he was witty, perceptive, knee-slapping hilarious and somehow very kind beneath his tough exterior.

when the bell signaling the end of detention finally rang, you both hesitated, reluctant to part ways after bonding so well, you both felt a connection you just couldn’t ignore.

"same time tomorrow?" heeseung asked nervously, a hint of hope painting his tone.

you nodded, unable to suppress the smile that spread across your face.

"well, why not? but only if you promise to behave not to get into too much trouble before then."

heeseung chuckled, a deep, magical sound that sent shivers down your spine.

"deal."

over the following days, your secret meetings in detention became the highlight of your everyday routine.

you laughed together, quarrelled over dumb things, and slowly unraveled the layers of each other's personalities.

the golden girl and the bad boy— total opposites yet you two couldn’t possibly deny that you drawn to each other like magnets.

on a rainy afternoon, as you sat together in comfortable silence, heeseung turned to you with a deep look in his eyes that made your breath twitch.

"you know," he began softly,

"i used to think being the local delinquent was my only role in this world. but then i met you, and suddenly, everything feels… different."

your heart raced, literally feeling it pump in your chest as his words hung in the air, charged with unspoken thoughts and emotions.

without thinking, you reached out and intertwined your fingers with his, feeling the electric warmth of his touch against your skin.

heeseung's gaze softened at the sight as he let out a soft smile, his thumb gently tracing circles on the back of your hand.

"i don't want to be the bad boy anymore,"

he confessed, his voice barely above a whisper.

"not if it means i can't be with you."

in that very moment, the world around you faded away, leaving only the two of you and the strong intensity of your connection.

with a surge of courage and impulse, you leaned in, cupping his cheeks gently and pressed your lips to his, almost feeling like a silent confession, a promise.

heeseung responded eagerly, his kiss gentle yet filled with a passion that ignited a fire within you.

time seemed to stand still as you lost yourselves in each other, the feeling of your body’s pressed together and souls intertwined.

the weight of unspoken words and shared feelings finally making its way out in the sweetness of your embrace.

when you finally pull apart, breathless and cheeks flushed pink, heeseung leans in once again and smiles against your lips.

a smile that signified and spoke of newfound possibilities and a future together filled with sweet moments like this.

"i think i'm done being the bad boy," he murmured, his voice tinged with a certain softness and wonder.

“really?” you asked with a hint of amusement on your face.

"mmh, because with you, i’ve finally found something worth being good for."

you let out a soft grin as you leaned into his embrace once again, the rain tapping softly against the windows, the rain blocking out your intimacy and vulnerability you could only share with each other out from the rest of the world.

you knew that this— whatever it was between you, was just the beginning of a love story written in whispers and stolen kisses.

THE STERILE SCENT OF THE ANTISEPTIC FILLED THE AIR AS YOU SCRUBBED IN FOR ANOTHER GRUELING AND TIRESOME SURGERY.

as a cardiothoracic surgeon at one of the top hospitals in the country, you were used to the high-pressure environment.

however, one thing you could never get used to was working alongside lee heeseung.

heeseung, with his sharp intellect and even sharper tongue, and his annoyingly angelic face— contrasting to his devilish personality was your professional rival.

as much as you hated to admit— he was as brilliant as he was infuriating, and every time your paths crossed, sparks flew—mostly in the form of heated arguments.

today was no different. you glanced at heeseung through the glass of the scrub room, noticing the way his jaw tightened as he prepared for the surgery. — more under cut !

he caught your eye and held your gaze for a moment longer than necessary with a small grin before it faded into a cocky smirk looking away, a silent challenge lingering in the air.

as you walked into the room, you felt yourself immediately grow agitated already at heeseung’s words.

“are you sure you should be near this patient, it would be a shame to put him at risk because of some dumbass with no surgical skills whatsoever..” he finished as the nurses around you sighed at the bickering to come.

“come on lee, you’re annoying everyone in the damn room. shut your pretty mouth and put those hands to use.”

“oh i know how to put these hands to use alright—“

“oh my fucking god, lee heeseun—“

before you could rebuttal, the nurse interrupted.

“um— the patient is under now.. could you do your job and talk about ‘putting those hands to use’ later?”

you winced at how informally you were talking in front of the nurses— lee heeseung sure does bring out the worst in you, alright.

“right… I’m sorry everyone!”

as the surgery began, you fell into the familiar rhythm, focusing on the delicate sutures and balance required to save a life.

the patient, a middle-aged man with severe coronary artery disease, was in an extreme critical condition.

every move had to be precise, every decision planned and flawless.

despite the tension between you and heeseung, both you and heeseung were professionals, completely focused on the task at hand.

the surgery proceeded smoothly until a complication arose—an unexpected tear in the arterial wall.

"we need to act fast," you said, your voice steady despite the panic and urgency.

"i know," heeseung replied tensely. "suction, now!"

you worked in quiet, the room silent except for the beeping of monitors and the soft clink of instruments.

finally, after what felt like an eternity, the crisis was under control, and the patient's condition stabilized.

as you stepped back, heeseung's eyes met yours again.

"good work," he said, but there was no warmth in his tone, only a grudging edge.

he was usually in a positive mood after a surgery had finished, but today something different— cold, almost angry sparked in his bambi eyes, leaving you in a sour mood.

the surgery had taken its toll, and you were completely exhausted.

you headed to the break room, hoping for even a small moment of peace with your growing headache, but heeseung followed you.

you could feel his eyes boring into your back as you poured yourself a cup of coffee.

"do you ever think before you act?" he snapped, breaking the silence.

you turned to face him, frowning at his accusatory tone.

"what are you on about now, lee?"

"if you hadn't hesitated, maybe we wouldn't have had that complication," he said, his words like a slap to the face.

you felt your blood boil. "are you seriously blaming me for that? we both know it was an unpredictable complication."

heeseung's eyes flashed with anger. "maybe if you paid more attention to the patient's history, you would have anticipated it."

“are you kidding me, heeseung? please, i can’t do this today—“

unfortunately, heeseung failed to notice the trembling in your voice and continued the growing argument.

“you can’t do this today? be so serious y/n, that man almost died today— you almost killed that man!”

the argument escalated quickly, voices rising as accusations flew back and forth.

finally, heeseung said something that cut deeper than any scalpel.

"maybe if you were more competent, our patient wouldn't have been at such risk of death because of you and you only!."

the room fell silent. his words hung in the air, heavy and unforgivable.

you felt your throat tighten, tears threatening to spill. without another word, you turned and walked out, leaving heeseung standing there, a look of shock and regret on his face.

days passed, and you avoided heeseung like the plague.

you switched shifts, took your breaks at odd times, and even walked the long way around the hospital to avoid running into him.

you knew it was petty— but you couldn't help it.

his words had hurt more than you wanted to admit.

heeseung, for his part, seemed increasingly frustrated. you could see him out of the corner of your eye, his gaze following you whenever you were in the same room.

he tried to approach you several times, but you always found a way to slip away before he could say anything.

your colleagues noticed the growing tension and ultimately decided on avoiding the two of you in the same room altogether.

it wasn't until you found yourself alone in the on-call room that heeseung had finally managed to corner you.

you were resting on the stiff bunk bed, trying to catch a few minutes of sleep when the door swung open.

to your surprise— heeseung stood in the doorway, his expression a mix of determination and desperation.

“oh, you’ve got to be kidding me—“

"we need to talk, y/n.." he said, closing the door behind him.

you sat up, crossing your arms defensively.

"there's nothing to talk about."

"yes, there is," he insisted, stepping closer.

"look— i didn't mean what i said the other day. i was angry and tired, and i took it out on you. it wasn't fair, and i'm sorry."

you looked away, the hurt still fresh. "you can't just say something like that and expect everything to be okay."

heeseung sighed, running a hand through his hair.

"i know. and i don't expect you to forgive me right away. but it hurts when you ignore me. we work together, and i... i can't stand the thought of you hating me."

you felt a pang of sympathy despite yourself.

"heeseung, it's not that easy. you really hurt me this time."

"i know," he said softly.

"and i'd do anything to make it right. even if it means losing all my dignity saying this."

you couldn't help it—a small giggle escaped your lips.

the idea of the usually stoic heeseung talking about losing his dignity was too much.

heeseung's eyes lit up at the sound, and a soft smile spread across his face.

"there it is," he said gently.

"that's the smile i've missed."

you shook your head, still smiling.

"you're impossible, lee heeseung."

heeseung took a step closer, his expression earnest.

"i mean it. i'm really sorry. can we.. start over?"

you hesitated for a moment, then nodded.

"okay lee. but you owe me."

heeseung grinned. "anything you want. just name it."

"how about a date?" you suggested, your eyes widened, surprising yourself with your boldness.

heeseung's eyes widened in surprise, then softened. "a date? i'd like that."

he reached out, his hand brushing against yours. the touch was warm, comforting.

slowly, he leaned in, his lips nearly touching yours as he looked into your eyes with a gentleness.

“can i…”

“get on with it already, heeseung—“

suddenly his lips crashed against yours, meeting yours in a soft, delicate kiss.

it was gentle, feeling all the unspoken words and feelings from all these years of working together, bickering and the childish arguments.

when you finally pulled away, heeseung was smiling.

"so, about that date... when are you free?"

you giggled, the tension between you finally broken.

"how about tonight after our shift ends?"

"it's a date," he said, his eyes sparkling with genuine happiness and adoration.

as you left the on-call room together, you couldn't help but feel that maybe, just maybe, things would be different from now on.
