Ted Lasso Dialogue Dump

Okay so I thought it would be fun to try and write some Ted Lasso stuff cause the show is great and Ted talks in such a specific way, so here's what I think is the most in-character thing I've written for any character:

A while later, when a decent amount of people are walking about, enjoying life before work, I hear a “Howdy Sam, how are you doing?” from beside me. “I’m alright, Ted. You?” “Oh I’m doing fine. Hey, nice scarf by the way. Very stylish. Reminds me of my neighbor’s grandma’s cat that she used to doll up during parties and whatnot. Was very cute; kid’s loved it. Always suckers for animals in human clothes. Hey I wonder if they have stores just for animal clothes? Ya know, like a normal clothing store but instead of normal sized jackets and shirts and hats they’re all tiny so you can fit them on a dog or cat or—heck even a lizard! Hey, if you could have any pet, what would it be? C’mon, lets here it. Nothing too outlandish!” He pats my shoulder encouragingly.

I can’t help it when a smile forms on my face. Just who he is—it’s so infectious to me. I take a moment to ponder his question, then respond “I think I would like a horse. Not here, in the city, but if I lived out in the country I think It’d be nice. Be able to ride out into who-knows-where for half a day or something. Plus, you can give them a full-body hug instead of it just being a little thing you squeeze in your arms” I say, knowing he’d like that answer.

“Well, I’ll be darned, I was going to say a parrot cause they’re pretty cool and you could teach them tricks and whatnot, but you’re totally right about that huggin’ thing! Would be nice to be able to do that. Plus you can go places with a horse, whereas if ya let a parrot loose it would probably just get lost’r something.”
