Thoughts of friends crossed their minds more than once since the apocalypse started. Originally, Shawn and Grant had been part of a survivor group led by Joey.. but then a sudden zombie attack caused them to get separated from the rest of the group. There was no way of telling if anyone else had made it. They hoped with all their heart that the rest of the survivors made it to safety.

“I-I hope Wally and Sammy are okay..” Grant said as he tried to get a signal on his phone. He hadn’t been able to call anyone since this all started. Mostly because of no signal or the person they tried to call had no signal.

“I’m sure they’re fine. Sammy’s going to make sure Wally stays out of trouble. They look out for each other. No matter how many times Sammy tries to deny it.” Shawn was cleaning a hunting knife that he found yesterday in a store for camping supplies. It had been used more than once to stab through the skulls of the dead.

“O-Okay.. what about Norman and Wendy? Do you think they’ll be fine too?” It was difficult not to worry about those two. Norman was smart, but Wendy was just a little girl. An easy meal for the infected. Shawn had tried to contact Norman a few days ago but the call wouldn’t go through.

“Norman is smart.. he probably just can’t get any cell reception on his phone like us. They’re fine.. he’d do anything to protect his sister.” Deep down, Shawn wasn’t really sure. There had been times where he and Grant had been able to get a signal on their phones. So shouldn’t Norman have been able to call at some point too?

“Y-You’re probably right..” The younger man was still worried, but he didn’t want to press this any further. There was no doubt that Shawn was hurting too even though he tried to hide it. Not knowing where everyone was scaring them both.

So far only Lacie and Henry had been able to get back to them on things. They called Shawn, instead of him calling them. Although that was a few days ago. Every time he tried to call back it would end in failure. Lacie was staying with Bertram and they apparently had found a rather good place to hide. Unfortunately that was the last they heard from them. As for Henry.. he and a friend happened to be heading back into town to surprise everyone at the studio when the outbreak started, and just like with Lacie and Bertram, that was the last they had heard from him.

“Grant. I think that’s enough worrying for now okay? Why don’t you go get cleaned up. I’m pretty sure the shower in this place works. I’ll be fine.” Usually the best things to do in times of worry, was to focus on something else, and currently they both needed a shower.

“Y-You sure? I-I don’t mind helping you keep watch..” Grant insisted. Wanting to be of some help to his friend. Shawn couldn’t be strong all the time. Grant knew that.

“No no. It’s fine really. I’m good. You just focus on getting cleaned up. I’ll go after. We’re both a mess..” He smiled, patting Grant’s back like he always did to cheer him up.

“A-Alright.. j-just let me know if you need help..” The young man then left for for the bathroom. Still, he knew what he saw. The sadness behind Shawn’s smile. He had to be just as worried, if not more than Grant. He wished that he could comfort Shawn in return.

Okay! I’m so glad I managed to finish another prompt! Sorry if it isn’t very good though! I kept getting a little distracted. Plus I’m a little sleepy. I didn’t sleep so well last night. But I’m glad I got to do this! I really hope you like the story! Sorry again if it isn’t good though. I tried my best. 😅😅😆😆
