I meant to post this earlier. It’s from Gilgamesh’s first interlude “What’s Worthy.” Since he’s a limited pickup Servant, not everyone have access to read this. Do you notice something odd compared to some previous encounters? Not the typo, that’s on the localization. Not just Roman behaves in a casual way with Gilgamesh, almost poking fun at his behavior, rather than throwing a “Miss/Mister” out of courtesy, but Gilgamesh’s reaction is the complete opposite to Servants like Cu or Drake who looked down Roman and praised you and Mashu. Gilgamesh doesn’t question Roman’s position as leader of Chaldea nor his role in his mission to save humanity, he questions his Master’s and Mashu’s worth to be chosen by the doctor, and of course Ritsuka’s capacity as his Master.
We know that Nasu had a direct hand on Gilgamesh’s interludes, so I thought this was something every FGO fan must be aware and read. The dynamic reactions are very different too. Ritsuka panicks when Gilgamesh demands something in turn for his loyalty otherwise they would become enemies.What he wants is to be showed you can grant him an “entertaining victory.” There’s a lot of stammering and panic from Mashu and her senpai. Meanwhile, Roman who comically ‘freaked out’ in some singularities?
He’s in complete control and reminds Ritsuka that Gilgamesh is their Servant, which annoys Gil because he got “the last word” but he admits the Doctor’s right and he has a contract so he’ll follow instructions.
