Sapphire's Adventures In Mixology - Tumblr Posts

To pass the time in lockdown, l have decided to learn how to make cocktails/mocktails. Today I made Tsukasa's Grenadine and tonic from Dr Stone. It turned out really well! I made the grenadine myself, super easy btw and way cheaper. It tastes pretty good! Very refreshing and nice to look at.

Continuing on my quest to make sure the booze I bought doesn't go to waste (seriously alcohol in Australia is so expensive), today I made a Hot Toddy using a recipe by the YouTube channel How To Drink.
I like it. Not gonna lie the whiskey taste is strong but the bitters hit you at the end and leave a nice after taste. This is definitely for people who like whiskey. If you wanna make this use a whiskey you like. This is NOT a "let's use the cheap stuff cause you won't taste the alcohol" drink.

Hot Toddy part 2!! It's really cold today so I wanted to make another toddy but I don't think I can go for more of the first one I made. It's so boozey. So instead I made one following a recipe by Jamie Oliver.
Mine's a little different. I didn't have any star anise or cloves but I did have cinnamon sticks and nutmeg. I also used twists of lemon and orange. Otherwise I followed the recipe.
Not gonna lie mate it was bland at first. Then I added extra whiskey and GAGGED! But after brewing it in the teapot for a bit and adding a bit more honey it was quite nice. I love whiskey but the ones I own don't seem to work in toddys. The cinnamon and honey saved the day. Jamie said 3 minutes to brew. Nope. Waaaayyyy longer. Otherwise it's a waste of spices.
Maybe I'm just bad at toddys. But I'm not giving up just yet! Next challenge, The Manhattan!

So I went to a gin tasting event for my 20th birthday. Lucky me, I won the door prize! A bottle of limited edition Nosferatu Blood Orange Gin!! I love classic monster movies and Nosferatu is one of my favorites. I had no idea what to do with the gin so I look in the company's website and found a recipe for this drink The "Nosferatu Sour". It's easy to make and tastes amazing! It's easy to drink so be careful.

Today's cocktail is the Silver 75! It's so fancy lookin'!
So good. The cherry adds a nice flavour! It tastes stong but still sweet.
