I absolutely LOVE the trope(?) where the love interest can shape-shift into an animal but the main character doesn't realize that so they treat the love interest as they would the animal they shape-shift into. It is just AMAZING!

Why does the power to shapeshift always seem to come with eidetic memory in media? Just once I want to see a shapeshifter get into a Situation because they shapeshifted into the guy they saw once for 30 seconds with the wrong eye color.
Really tho anyone not choosing shapeshifter is a fool, you can be everything else from this poll.

I know I have drawn this shape so often already, but the process of drawing it is so soothing.
And for that, I have drawn a kind of step-by-step guide how to draw that shape in the top of this drawing:
(from left to right: ) [sorry in advance if I make it sound more complicated than it actually is. If you want to draw it, I would advice you to focus more on these illustrations rather than on my gibberish-text.]
1. draw a 2-dimensional Cartesian plane - or, in other words: just draw a cross like depicted
1.1. mark 2 points on the y-axis/vertical line with same distance to the coordinate origin, then mark 2 points on the x-axis/horizontal line with the same distance to the coordinate origin. (The markings on the y-axis need to be farther away from the origin than the markings of the x-axis)
2. connect the 4 marked points like depicted above. This is a function plot of a tractrix. (it has two mirror symmetry axes. )
3. draw an ellipse and connect the two markings on the x-axis. This becomes a kind of "belt" for the pseudosphere (4th picture)
4. part the ellipse into whatever-amount-you-want of partings (like you would cut a cake) and slightly mark these.
5. now imagine you cut that shape horizontally on the outer surface. (In the 5th picture I depicted that with red-ish pen across the pseudosphere. ) -
6. then the cut shape needs to be "(shape) shifted". For that we use a set of marked points we did in step 4). Furtherly, we "cut" the ellipse open, and push one end of it to the top, and the other end to the bottom. (depicted in picture 6 )
7. Then we connect the rest to get that shape:

shapeshifting is the best super power because you can have any haircut any time you want, you can turn into a hotter version of yourself, you can turn into a dragon, you can turn into a robot, you can turn into a shambling mound of abstract shapes and sulk outside your estranged father’s house at night while chanting ominously about his sins,
watching nimona as a trans person has me rethinking how every oc i've ever made with a power of some sort has been a shapeshifter...like some subconscious connection to that ability to change with a thought what i will never be able to

I really love this. It looks like he is in the middle of shifting from one shape to the other. It’s also rather casually done and not as it it bothers him.
We need more fanart of Loki being comfortable in his skin(s).

“You lookin’ for something?” the furry hunk casually asked me with raised eyebrow, “…Or someone?”
“Um –” I stuttered, trying not to check him out too much, “I’m looking for my dad. I thought I saw him come back around here, but now I can’t find him.”
“You brought your dad to Leather Fest?” he questioned, still with that sexy raised eyebrow, “You must have a pretty cool dad.”
I shuffled my feet a bit. “Yeah, he really wanted to come this year. It was kinda weird.”
“I don’t think it’s weird,” he replied, “Maybe he just wanted to spend some time with you. Maybe he’s been trying to figure out if he’s gay, too, and wanted you to show him what it’s like.”
I had let the hunk circle around me, lost in his deep brown eyes, deeply turned on by the way his harness hugged his hairy chest, and the way his pants created the perfect bulge. Suddenly, I was the one up against the wall, and this gorgeous man was leaning in closer and closer.
“I really should try and find my dad…” I whimpered as he slid a hand up my shirt, feeling my abs, reaching for my nipple.
“You already found him,” he grinned.
He pulled back just a little bit and squeezed his eyes shut. There was a look of deep concentration on his face. Then, his features started shifting and rearranging right in front of my eyes. All of the sudden, I was looking at this hunk in front of me, but he had my father’s face.
“What do you think?” The hunk’s voice came out of my father’s mouth.
“Oh fuck!” I tried to push him away, but he managed to hold me there, telling me to calm down as his face shifted back to the handsome, scruffy face that he had been wearing before.
“I can explain all of this later,” he said, “Just try and forget it’s me inside of here, OK? Let me spend the day like this, and I’ll tell you everything when we get home.”
I reached out to touch his face, and he let me. I looked into his eyes, and couldn’t help but see my father now. I didn’t know why, but it fucking turned on knowing that this sexy guy was actually my dad.
“What should I call you?” I asked him.
He paused for a second. Maybe he hadn’t thought it would get this far. “How about ‘Chris?’ And, just so you know, we don’t have to do anything physical if you don’t want to. I kind of got carried away back there.”
I bit my lip and pulled him in for a kiss, feeling his scruff against my smooth face. I don’t know how my dad knew what my ideal man looked like, but somehow he had nailed it with the way he looked now. I made sure to lean in a little bit so he could feel my hard cock poking up against him.
“I like 'Chris,’” I said. I kissed him a few more times, and then took him by the hand. We spent the rest of the day together at the festival. It was one of the best days of my life.
