A Noob’s introduction to Genshin Impact

Hello, and this is a noob's introduction to Genshin Impact.

This is Genshin Impact. (*ding*)

This 2020 game made and published by miHoYo using the Unity engine, has taken the world by storm, and if you somehow haven’t heard of it, then prepare to be introduced to the lore in the most absurd way possible.

Set in the world known as Teyvat, you, the player character, are the eponymous “Traveler”, a mysterious dimension hopping traveler (thus the name), stuck in the aforementioned world of Teyvat, due to getting smacked down by an Unknown God, alongside your twin. With your twin missing, you must search for answers in this world of Teyvat.

So, what is Teyvat? Teyvat is a world governed… BY THE GODS!!!

Specifically, there is a floating island known as Celestia, from where the Gods who uphold the vague “Heavenly Principles” live.

Not that they actually govern the world most of the time. The ones who actually govern the world are Gods that are collectively referred to as the “7” (because there are 7). These 7, are the Archons, who are not only gods, they are also the ones who lead the various nations of Teyvat, of which there are 7. Each Archon not only gets a nation to govern, but also gets to call dibs on an element. The old timey elements, there is no archon of carbon.

They are, as follows:

- Barbatos, the Anemo (see wind) Archon of Mondstadt, and God of Freedom (an interesting concept for divinity, but ok).

- Rex Lapis (also known as Morax), the Geo (see earth) Archon of Liyue and God of Contracts (because no matter where you go, there is still going to be a jerk that invents legalism).

- Beelzebul, also known as the Raiden Shogun, the Electro (lightning) Archon of Inazuma, and God of Eternity (a bit ironic for a lightning/thunder god, but ok).

- Lesser Lord Kusanali, AKA Blessed One of Wisdom, AKA Mahakusaladhamma, AKA Buer (goodness, that’s a lot of names), Dendro (plants… don’t think too hard about it)

- Archon of Sumeru, God of Wisdom. Focalors, Hydro (water) Archon of Fontaine, and God of Justice.

- The Lady of Fire, Murata, the Pyro (fire) Archon of Natlan, and God of War.

- And finally, the Tsaritsa, the Cryo (ice) Archon of Snezhnaya, and buggered if we know what she is the God of. (I’ve heard at one point that it was of Love, but that hasn’t been confirmed)

Now, what do these elements actually do? Well, the Archons/Celestia grant the mortals Visions, themed around the elements. These visions take the form of a colored gem, and gives the owner of said vision powers. Which they probably need, since there are many dangers in this world. Treasure Hoarder bandits, Hilichurls that are basically gremlins, the Abyss Order, a faction that woke up, and chose that the foe to defeat is everything that moves, and the Fatui, or as I like to call them, fantasy discount KGB.

So, take the dive into the World of Teyvat, and this has been a noobs introduction to Genshin Impact.

the sound of the iphone alarm rings throughout the bedroom. a mix of deep, raspy groans and soft whining fill the room, replacing said irritating noise.

you reach to tap the ‘snooze’ button but a hand grabs your arm. he stretches a hand out to hit it instead but missed 5 times before effectively shutting it off. he groans, wrapping his arms around your waist and burying his face into your chest.

“babe, get up. you’re too fat, you’re suffocating me.”

“‘s too early to get up, stop squirming,” he reaches a hand up to your face, trying to cover your mouth before you slap it away.

you wriggle in his grasp before stopping, surrendering to his warmth.

“morning, my sweet waffle with honey, maple syrup and berries on top.”

there was a good few seconds of silence to make you realise he’s not joking and genuinely calls you that.

upon imaging the image of waffles in your mind, the idea obviously makes your stomach grumble. you wanted to get up and make some but forgot about the tired guy on your chest.

with a loud groan, you drag him with you out of bed. you can definitely hear his quiet giggles as he brings the blanket with him, perched on his shoulders while you drag him around.

“i got it, i got it!”

“baby, let me pay for it!” you strain out, struggling against his tight embrace. you can feel the vibrations of his chest behind you as he captures your arms in one hand and tries to put the money in the machine with the other.

you squeal when you free your hands from his vice grip and he tickles you to prevent sticking your money in.

“babe, babe stop! i wanna pay, its my turn.”

“i got it, don’t worry. im not gonna let you pay, ill cover it,” he laughs, taking the cash from your hands and slipping it back into your wallet.

at this point, you’re thrashing around in his grasp, not harsh enough to hurt him though. he has his arms hooked under your shoulders to prevent you from moving forward.

“please, let me pay! i got it, its fine!” he protests through his own laughter.

you throw your head back on his shoulder, giggling while trying to free yourself from his grip. he leans downwards and presses several kisses to your face, successfully stopping your movements.

he paid for you again. hey, at least you tried, right?

Genshin impact x male god reader

The first god to ever be sent from the heavens, living with dragons and the like from the start. Living with the Seven Sovereign, an honorary dragon he became. He learned to love all life, being older than most of the Archons that live now. Only for his memory to be wiped as his mother died. Only the rage and resentment of the man that took his mother's life. As he sought out the man, he started to adopt the children that were abandoned and hurt by their families. Now new memories replaced those that he lost. But his power was still there, small in strength as the full extent of them was locked behind the memories he needed to regain. But a traveler comes along and helps him get back the life he lost, to become the most powerful god in all of Teyvat.

Okay I kind of feel bad for putting this poll out because I have a few Female genshin characters I want to be as love interists like Ei and Yae Miko but what I will do is I will add the npcs but limit the female characters that are love interists depending on the result

Would you guys be okay with some genshin girlies being love interists? Ie: Raiden, Yae, Kokomi, Lisa, Jean, and others? Just because of Y/n's backstory i think it would work for some of them to have romantic feelings directed.

Y/n has the power to see people's future, but it is just a brief vision, and it is always changing. Y/n forgot the powers he once had due to his mother hiding away his memories. His memories were hidden out of fear of his powers being used against him and being too dangerous for Y/n to handle on his own. Y/n see's ghosts and often helps those that want to move on. He also connects with them and brings a sense of happiness to lonely spirits. He is able to use the elements, but once he remembers his past. There is a reminence of the elemental power, but it isn't as strong as they used to be. Y/n knows all the gods, both before and after the Archon war and morns those that died during the war. He is often seen wearing a white two piece with a short crop top and a skirt, to resemble what his father once wore. It is mistaken that he is the ghost of Windrise because of his white apparel and his singing. Y/n wears more loose close that flow in the wind because of his brother and father.

However, after seeing how the living conditions weren't good for him, Y/n had started to rebuild and refurnish his home. When Erin was a little older, he had helped Y/n with the rebuilding. ~Character Story~ Mei's father is from Snezhnaya, her mother is from Liyue, her father moved in with her in Liyue, where their daughter was born later. Due to an accident in childhood, which gave Mie the Vision (and the sidelong glances of passers-by), she grew up preferring reading books and having small hobbies, including drawing, to communication. Mei's family lived in two countries until her parents decided to settle in Snezhnaya, and Mei stayed in Liyue, working in the local library and archive. Her position seemed perfect to her until she realized that she was gradually being dragged into the swamp of routine and fatigue from the bustling port city. Deciding that this could no longer continue, she quit, collected all her savings and moved to Mondstadt, buying a small apartment on the attic floor of one of the houses in the city. Earning money by errands in the Guild and a part-time job in the library, Mei started to draw more and more. She sent paintings and illustrations to Liyue and Snezhnaya, looking for a job, and soon began receiving orders, finally living the life she had always aspired to.

~Vision~ One day, walking through the forest in Snezhnaya late at night, little Mei fell off a cliff and got her hand into a wolf trap. The child did not have enough strength to uncoil the springs, let alone try to pull out his hand. Night was falling too fast; after a few minutes of fruitless attempts to free herself, Mei noticed shadows among the trees - wolves were approaching her. Feeling the horror growing inside, choking with prayers to Her Majesty the Tsaritsa, she made a desperate attempt to pull her hand out of the trap. A sharp pain shot through her muscles, immediately replaced by a burning ice. A bright flash lit up the forest, and a pack of wolves turned into ice statues. The Cryo Vision glowed in Mei's palm; her arm, freed from the trap, was covered with ice up to the elbow. Mei hardly remembers this story - but her icy hand does not allow her to completely erase it from her memory.

In Snezhnaya, children with white or gray hair are called "kissed by the Tsaritsa." The icy hand, Cryo abilities and the nickname because of the color of her hair - all this affected the fact that Mei always treated Her Majesty with special love and reverence, believing that it was she who turned her gaze on her and saved her from death in the night forest.

TEYVAT ACADEMY

Teyvat Academy. Incredibly large and famous school divided into seven sectors: Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, Sumeru, Fontaine, Natlan and Snezhnaya.

Each of these parts has its representative in 'Celestia' (this is the name given by the students to the school council). These people are called 'Archons'.

Besides them, there are also the presidents of the sectors concerned, who, unlike the 'Archons', are elected by the students. Like representatives of the sectors, these are usually students from the oldest third grade.

There are also many clubs, interest groups and sports teams at the Academy. Clubs are open to students from each section, but there are so-called closed clubs. One of them is for example 'Knights of Favonius'. Its members are elected by Mondstadt chairwoman Jean. They help her keep order and help the students. However, there are also some that are not entirely well-intentioned. The 'Fatui' from Snezhnaya have members in each of the sectors. They serve their 'Archon' - Tsaritsa. Nobody really knows what exactly they want, but it's probably not any good.

The school itself is located next to the dormitory. There is also a street nearby with many shops, cafes and restaurants. Most of the students meet there and spend their free time there.

Teyvat Academy may seem stiff, but there's a lot going on in it. But you don't have to take my word for it tho.
