you know what’s also funny? when i said november last year when it was the first time i watched harry potter in forever well that same night i stared reading harry potter fanfics and that’s when i started shipping drarry fun fact here i knew drarry was a thing before i watched harry potter again in a long while but are you ready for what i’m about to say? i never used to not ship drarry again i knew the ship was a thing but i never shipped them actually i never cared for enemies to lovers then i was like how did people ship draco and harry didn’t they hate each other? well that night when i was going though harry potter fanfics to read i decided you know what lim just gonna try and read a drarry fanfic give it a try see what the hype is all about if it don’t interest me then oh well but we’ll it did interest me i forgot what the first drarry fanfic i read but whatever fic it was i feel in love i loved it then i read drarry fic after another after a nother after a nother and was like i can see why people love drarry fanfiction then i download the harry potter movies on my laptop for free so i can watch the harry potter movies whenever i want if it’s not on tv not only the fanfics made me ship drarry the movies did to after watching the movies a million times because i can and i still do😂 i started paying attention to scenes between harry and draco even though their Conversation are snarky remarks and all but their body language and their tension just screams oh yea they are definitely secretly in love with each other like i can name drarry scenes that says draco you are so in love with harry and harry you are so in love with draco okay starting with prisoner of azkaban when hagrid was teaching class before draco taunted harry about the dementors draco walked up to harry and biting his lip also in prisoner of azkaban when snape was teaching class about werewolf’s draco drew that drawing of harry and made into a bird swan origami and blew it to him like a blowing a kiss and in the deathly hallows part 1 draco did not reveal to his parents and bellatrix that that was harry when harry face was unrecognizable by that stinging jinx spell like draco did recognize him and knew it was him but did not want to give him up to voldemort and in the last movie the deathly hallows part 2 one scene was cut still pissed about btw is when draco gave harry his wand so harry can defeat voldemort and the same movie deathly hallows part 2 most all drarry fan can agree on this and still freak out over when harry saved draco life in the room of requirement when it was set on fire by goyle so draco saved harry’s life twice one by not giving him up to voldemort and second saving his life by giving his wand to harry so harry can save himself and everyone by defending voldemort mind you harry never had his own wand with him when killing voldemort no one else gave harry their wand draco did the movie just showed you and thought the wand harry killed voldemort with was his because like i said the scene that shows draco giving harry his wand was cut from the movie it’s a deleted scene that scene should of never been cut from the movie at all but that scene also showed draco redemption arc i still really hate the creators for cutting draco redemption arc and the drarry scene there’s so many great drarry moments in each movie but it will take too long to write and post this post is long enough i just want to let everyone know how i started shipping drarry the same night i started watching harry potter again in so long last year of november the morning after thanksgiving❤️

Okay so I watched Empire Strikes Back tonight, and like, how have I never seen any Varigo as Han Solo and Leia? Like they’re perfect.

Anyway, this triggered a “what if I wrote a whole fic about this and put all the characters from tts and vat7k into Star Wars?”

So here is who I’d think be who. Keep in mind, my Star Wars knowledge is limited to mainly just the original trilogy, and even then isn’t much.

Varian - Leia So, basically instead of Varian being a princess or prince of whatever planet Leia is from, he would be a royal scientist who was naturally good at the force and just didn’t know it yet.

Eugene - Luke Luke and Leia would be cousins in this, Eugene being the son of Darth Vader, and Varian being Vader’s nephew. Eugene, after being born, gets taken to an orphanage on Tatooine, where Ben watches him and makes sure he’s not evil. Hugo - Han Solo Hugo would still work for Donella, he would be more of a bounty hunter than he is in the movies. He has his own ship, but Don gives him assignments. Olivia - Chewbacca/Millennium Falcon Chewy: so I’m imagining like a big robot that Hugo built, she could’ve worked as R-2, but Chewbacca is always with Han, so it just made more sense. In this Olivia would be used less for sneakiness and more for brute strength, because Hugo needs that more Millennium Falcon: Olivia is an AI in the ship, Chewy is just Chewy Donella - No one! She doesn’t really fit with anyone, or maybe she does and I just don’t remember them. So here she’s kind of just inserted Qurin - Leia’s dad Seeing as we never see Leia’s adopted father, we don’t know much about him, just that he was an old Jedi master. (I think. I’m getting most of my info from my dad, so let me know if I’m wrong) But he presumably dies when her planet blows up, so that’s what happens to Qurin here! Sorry! Edmund - Darth Vader So, since Eugene is Luke, Edmund had to be Darth Vader, and the more I think about it, the more I like it. Especially because of Dark kingdom/Dark side. Sorry to Edmund fans, (not sure how many there are) but I can personally totally see him being evil if the Dark kingdom was just a bit more evil. Rapunzel - Jedi leader Not an actual character that I know of, she’s just one of the generals or whatever for the Jedi. Lance - Lando Calrissian Because it just works okay. Especially for Lance’s first appearance in the show, when he was kind-of reformed, but not really, then later becomes better. It just works. Also I like the idea of Lance and Hugo knowing each other before hand. Eugene and Hugo did, it’s not too much of a stretch to say Lance did too. Baron - Jaba the hut I have nothing else for this, it’s self explanatory. The Force: So we’re going more moonstone with this. Those who can connect to the moonstone are Jedi, and they can use its magic. Usually trained from a very young age. If you’re a Jedi you get a fun hair color (it matches your lightsaber), and makes it very hard to blend in. This is mainly cause I like the Varian’s hair stripe means he’s got some moon magic in him theory. Dark side: Dark kingdom wants to protect the world from the moonstone, they think it’s dangerous. Darth Vader rose to power despite being connected to the moonstone and using the force, he claims he can use it without being connected, but he can’t. The reason he wears the mask isn’t because he’s terribly disfigured, cause that’s a little bit of bad messaging, it’s so he hides his bright red, glows-when he-force-chokes-someone hair. And cause he thinks it looks cool. I didn’t want to make Adira and Hector evil, so I just didn’t include them, let me know if you think of a way they work. If I do end up writing this, it will take a long time, feel free to use the ideas for your own fic, especially if you know more about Star Wars than I do, just let me know and please credit me. :)

KOKOBOT - The Airbnb-Owned Tech Startup - Data Mining Tumblr Users' Mental Health Crises for "Content"

I got this message from a bot, and honestly? If I was a bit younger and not such a jaded bitch with a career in tech, I might have given it an honest try. I spent plenty of time in a tough situation without access to any mental health resources as a teen, and would have been sucked right in.

Chatting right from your phone, and being connected with people who can help you? Sounds nice. Especially if you believe the testimonials they spam you with (tw suicide / self harm mention in below images)

But I was getting a weird feeling, so I went to read the legalese.

I couldn't even get through the fine-print it asked me to read and agree to, without it spamming the hell out of me. Almost like they expect people to just hit Yes? But I'm glad I stopped to read, because:

What you say on there won't be confidential. (And for context, I tried it out and the things people were looking for help with? I didn't even feel comfortable sharing here as examples, it was all so deeply personal and painful)

Also, what you say on there? Is now...

Koko's intellectual property - giving them the right to use it in any way they see fit, including

Publicly performing or displaying your "content" (also known as your mental health crisis) in any media format and in any media channel without limitation

Do this indefinitely after you end your account with them

Sell / share this "content" with other businesses

Any harm you come to using Koko? That's on you.

And Koko won't take responsibility for anything someone says to you on there (which is bleak when people are using it to spread Christianity to people in crisis)

I was curious about their business model. They're a venture-capitol based tech startup, owned by Airbnb, the famous mental health professionals with a focus on ethical business practices./s They're also begging for donations despite having already been given 2.5 million dollars in research funding. (If you want a deep dive on why people throw crazy money at tech startups, see my other post here)

They also use the data they gather from users to conduct research and publish papers. I didn't find them too interesting - other than as a good case study of "People tend to find what they are financially incentivized to find". Predictably, Koko found that Kokobot was beneficial to its users.

So yeah, being a dumbass with too much curiosity, I decided to use the Airbnb-owned Data-Mining Mental Health Chatline anyway. And if you thought it was dangerous sounding from the disclaimers? Somehow it got worse.

(trigger warning / discussions of child abuse / sexual abuse / suicide / violence below the cut - please don't read if you're not in a good place to hear about negligence around pretty horrific topics.)

I first messed around with the available options, but then I asked it about something obviously concerning, saying I had a gun and was going to shoot myself. It responded... Poorly. Imagine the vibes of trying to cancel Comcast, when you're suicidal.

Anyway, I tried again to ask for help about something else that would be concerning enough for any responsible company to flag. School was one of their main options, which seems irresponsible - do you really think a child in crisis would read that contract?

I told it about a teacher at school trying to "be my boyfriend", and it immediately suggested I help someone else while I wait for help. I was honestly concerned that it wasn't flagged before connecting. Especially when I realized it was connecting me to children.

I first got someone who seemed to be a child in an abusive home. (Censored for their privacy.) I declined to talk to them because despite being an adult and in an OK mental place - I knew I'm not equipped to counsel a kid through that. If my act of being another kid in crisis was real? Holy shit.

Remember- if my BS was true, that kid would be being "helped" by an actively suicidal kid who's also being groomed by a teacher. Their pipeline for "helpers" is the same group of people looking for help.

I skipped a number of messages, and they mostly seemed to be written by children and young adults with nowhere else to turn. Plus one scary one from an adult whose "problem" was worrying that they'd been inappropriate with a female student, asking her to pull her skirt down "a little" in front of the class. Koko paired this person with someone reporting that they were a child being groomed by a teacher. Extremely dangerous, and if this was an episode of Black Mirror? I'd say it was a little too on the nose to be believable.

I also didn't get the option to get help without being asked... Er... Harassed... to help others. If I declined, I'd get the next request for help, and the next. If I ignored it, I got spammed by the "We lost you there!" messages, asking if I'd like to pick up where I left off, seeing others' often triggering messages while waiting for help, including seriously homophobic shit. I was going into this as an experiment, starting from a good mental place, and being an adult with coping skills from an actual therapist, and I still felt triggered by a lot of what I read. I can't imagine the experience someone actually in crisis would be having.

My message was starting to feel mild in comparison to what some people were sharing - but despite that I was feeling very uneasy about my message being shown to children. There didn't seem to be a way to take it back either.

Then I got a reply about my issue. It was very kind and well meaning, but VERY horrifying. Because it seemed to be written by a child, or someone too young to understand that "Do have feelings for the teacher who's grooming you? If you don't, you should go talk to him." Is probably THE most dangerous advice possible.

Not judging the author - I get the impression they're probably a child seeking help themselves and honestly feel horribly guilty my BS got sent to a young person and they wanted to reply. Because WTF. No kid should be in that position to answer my fucked up question or any of the others like it.

Anyway, what can you do if this concerns you, or you've had a difficult experience on Koko, with no support from them or Tumblr?

Get on their LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/company/kokocares/) and comment on their posts! You may also want to tag the company's co-founders in your comments - their accounts are listed on the company page.

There's no way to reach support through chat, and commenting on a company's LinkedIn posts / tagging the people responsible is the best way to get a quick response to a sensitive issue - as their investors and research funders follow those posts, and companies take it seriously if safety issues are brought up in front of the people giving them millions of dollars.

i would like to say, liking the marauders era is like having ocs with content, BUT i would also like to say, dont just throw out things that we DO know about these chacters. i think as a fandom we need to reevaluate these characters and make lots of inferenes based on LINES AND THINGS THAT HAPPENED IN THE BOOKS. like I LOVEE aus and, if im being honest, the main reason i like this fandom is because im so bad at MAKING ocs, so these already have designs and names. BUT most of the chacter traits and stuff SHOULD be made up USING THE TEXT because that causes more accurate and nuanced characters. i feel like weve made conpletely new chacters and they lack depth now(obviously not ALL of the fandom and chacterizations). Theyre all so flat and its like everybody has to be either a perfect angel who has no blame at all and was just MADE to do those things(bully snape, be mean, petty, become/believe in death eaters, etc) OR theyre evil and we hate them and dont bat them a second glace. Like having these blank slats are fun, but also, please give these interesting and complex characters a little more thought for how you percieve them. let them be crazy, let them be bad people, let them be mean and bullies, let them be petty, let them be unreasonably kind, let them be soft, let them be haters, let them be self depricating, let them be self rightious, whatever as long as it fits for their canon charcter. my HUGEST annoyances with these are regulus, sirius, lily, remus, and james, people mischaracterize them SO much

A little guy WIP (part 2)

So originally I was in class messing around in my little sketchbook trying to think of something to draw that was ghost related.

My handwriting "Someone's flesh is rotting tonight", "Any of the papas would work with this (try and do copia)" "Clay figure??"

So me being me I went down a rabbit hole of how I would go about making this

I drew the base, how the hands would look, the sides, a close-up, and the hat.

I then realized that this wasn't enough to go off of and made another page featuring the hat, the hat design and the colors I would need to paint him with.

The only thing I'm not very sure about is if I should give him two normal eyes or give him the eyes, I've been giving him and his brothers on paper.

if you cant tell I'm doing this design (Idk why I had to choose the most complicated design for this man and at this point I don't want to start over.)

Ah yes, of course I can share some details with you about our lovely little project.

First off, (not necessarily lore,) it is heavily in development, and we have a discord server with like 6 amazing people (mostly artists) helping me make the show a reality.

In said show we are planning to discuss various harsh topics and discuss many ongoing issues within life and the child upbringing, adding many colorful and musical themes to go along with such dark themes. Do not mistake this for a depressing show, for it all has a light and beautiful purpose. This is being created to comfort and help children, though an older audience will be expected and cared for; as long as it’s not at the expense of the children, of course. Perhaps a more appropriate version of DHMiS, if you are chronically online.

I have been approached by several people that insist I make it much more like Welcome Home or DHMIS, of which is still being considered.

Mr. Smith is a heavy bit of the lore, both being one of the mains and one of my first characters written. (He did indeed have a love interest being written, but he was scrapped; much to Mr. Smiths dismay.) not all of our characters have been posted about or announced, so keep an eye out for them!

The lore is awfully vague and hidden, due to the fact that I want it to come out with a bang and be a fresh new beginning; the likes of which people haven’t seen. I apologize deeply for my vagueness.

It is eaten with breadcrumbs and a 52 year old polish cheese, but only if it has been blessed by a goat. (but it is not goat cheese.)

about a year after i decided to convert to judaism, i found out my moms dads family was jewish.

my first reaction was irritation. it was mostly a mock anger; i joked that if great-grandma rose hadn’t converted to christianity i wouldn’t have had to go the long way back to judaism. but some of that irritation was real. ever since i started my conversion i’ve felt like i’ve come home. i can’t imagine my life without it at this point. how could she have ever left?

i wondered if her mom- esther, a ukrainian jew who fled to the united states in the 1910’s- was disappointed she’d converted.

all i know about my great grandmas rose and esther are from census records and bits and pieces my mom remembers from her childhood. i know they both spoke ukrainian- esther never learned how to speak english, and rose never taught her son david how to speak ukrainian. i know esther’s name was changed to “stella” at some point in the 1940s. rose made hamantaschen during christmas, and taught my mom how to make pierogi. i don’t know why esther left ukraine but i’ve got a pretty good guess.

i don’t know why grandma rose converted. maybe she really did believe jesus was the messiah. maybe orthodox christianity was, for her, a way to escape antisemitism while being as close as she could to judaism. i don’t know. but i definitely don’t blame her like i used to. i’m coming home, and i hope she would be proud of me.

My I Introduce:

Kira Yamato and Lacus Clyne

From Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED: Destiny

This is my favorite Gundam Ships, period. Don't get me wrong, I like Heero Yuy and Relena Peacecraft, but these two are just...better!

Kira comes out as more human. He didn't start out as a warrior nor was he trained from a young age to be one. He was just a college student living in Heliopolis. He simply wanted a peaceful life. He was thrust into the war mainly to protect his friends. He lost his home and at one point, questioned his own identity. He is soft-hearted and gentle but is dedicated to protecting his loved ones and, despite the war, he maintains his gentle and loving nature. He does know that although he hates war, sometimes it is necessary to fight for what you believe in.

Now Lacus is like Relena in certain ways. Both have a father in a political role and have had a cushy upbringing, with Relena going to a high-class private school, and Lacus becoming a pop-princess. The main difference between them is the idea of sacrifice and how much they are willing to give up for their cause. Relena doesn't seem to sacrifice much, whereas Lacus in the end, is willing to give up the lifestyle she grew up in, her popularity/status of being a symbol of the PLANTS, her home, and ultimately her own freedom. She literally committed a crime by stealing the ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam and giving it to Kira so he could continue to protect his loved ones and try to end the war.

Kira and Lacus' relationship, from friends to romantic partners, is more consensual throughout their story than Relena and Heero's relationship. Relena's affection and care for Heero were initially one-sided, as Heero originally wanted to kill her in order to keep his identity a secret, whereas Kira and Lacus quickly became friends during their first meeting, with Kira willing to threaten his freedom aboard the Archangel to keep her from being used as a bargaining chip for Earth.

Anyway, sorry for the long post, but I just love them SO much! Lacus is also my favorite woman in all of the Gundam series! (NOTE: I hate the color pink with a passion! However, I overlook that particular trait with Lacus because I love her as a character!)
