Get to Know Your Character

Here are some questions to consider for character development:

It still REALLY pisses me off that a good chunk of the Undertale community still paints Chara as the bad guy of the game, after three years... -_-

SAME. I actually stopped looking a long time ago for blogs to follow because I’m too tired of it.

I just want to take your ask as an opportunity to point out something I consider to be really important that a lot of people ignore.

You can do every horrible thing in the game and still meet the minimum requirements to get a True Pacifist, then go see Asriel and he STILL SAYS THE THING. What he says about Chara is not behavior related. (You can also do a murder run up until Asgore, reset and because Asriel remembers everything he KNOWS what you did and yet still says it)

I drew a thing about that

Unfortunately a lot of the fanon built up about Chara is spread by people who didn’t research. There’s more evidence of Chara being a quiet kid who loved the goat family than anything else. (Even more so if you believe in Narra chara)

Also the genocide route has way more Asriel/Flowey influence than Chara. The “but nobody came” music is actually Floweys theme slowed down, the faces are actually named after Flowey.

Most of the sprites that involve chara are just named “Chara” (Unused Chara sprites, the actual chara spites and even Frisks spites have Chara in them) there isn’t any with C besides these music files and yes, they are to do with the murder run but only the spooky music when we face Chara (Except for one called spr_Spaghot_c… but that’s surprisingly unrelated because it’s the burning pan in Undynes date)

The mus_f_wind is the wind we hear at the end and post murder run wind when Chara talks to us, funny how Asriel has more association with it than Chara does. Even in his Hyperdeath form he’s obsessed with erasing the world and starting over again just to play with us

Speaking of faces- During the fun run, Flowey gets scared of Frisk doing a creepy face and says they have a sick sense of humour, despite the fact that Asriel only ever laughed at Charas creepy face, meaning they are different faces.

literally most things that people write off as just ‘textures’ to use in graphics are stolen & unsourced material created by artists or photographers NOT meant to be used as elements in projects without royalty payments. you can say ‘it’s just random tumblr posts they don’t care’ but you wouldn’t want someone to take your work and edit into their work so they can be praised for their beautiful style and creativity even if they just post it on social media w/o profit, would you?? so maybe if you browse pinterest or google images for pictures without finding the original source, you’re using images that you’re not allowed to use without realizing it.

you see it on here a lot especially in (i won’t link anything but i’m sure you know what i mean) those album track ‘aesthetics’ posts, au ‘aesthetic’ posts (you see these less in kpop, but where people use non-royalty free images to kinda craft a visual au), and even just rather typical graphics that have a lot of ‘texture’ elements. and texture packs too!! that’s often where the problem starts; people just collect images (often literal art), compile them in a folder w/o sources, then insist no one can repost those images w/o crediting the person who compiled them. what???
