It has been years…

and i know it’s been a long time since we last spoke. it’s been a while since i realized you never really loved me like i loved you. and that we’d never get another chance. but every once in a while, i think of you, because i see bits of you in every experience, in every place i go, in everyone i meet, i see you through little lenses of longing. of wondering, what would life had been like had it been with you? if everything had worked out instead of going sideways? if we were actually meant for each other, if we were as meant to be as it felt like to love you? if i could have everything i wanted, and i could have you? what would life be like? where are you now? will i ever get over you? will there ever come a day where i don’t think of you, when not even a single beat of my heart is dedicated to you? where i don’t see you in glimpses and i don’t cry these tears for you anymore?
