Sometimes I like thinking about JJK as a meta narrative for emotions.

Sometimes I Like Thinking About JJK As A Meta Narrative For Emotions.

Curses come from negative emotions, those who are easily affected by them are empaths/notice negative emotions easily, can feel emotions strongly, or seem very unaffected by them (and therefore can help others)

THe system promises to rid of negative emotions via power. Power, however, makes you so insensitive to others... but at least now you can get rid of negative emotions.

Therefore justifications! Most have justifications (moral codes).

Sometimes I Like Thinking About JJK As A Meta Narrative For Emotions.

Gojo is a special case... I'd have to do a deep dive. Itadori's a bit easier. (But overall Gojo is the least forthcoming with his deepest desires and emotions out of the entire JJK cast. ANd the narrative itself reflects it. Gojo in particular never gets a ~deep impactful emotional~ scene where his internal world gets dissected. The closest we get is when Geto dies - where we don't see what he said - and in the airport scene - where... well... I'm going to do another analysis on that because there is a LOT of subtext in that scene.)

Sometimes I Like Thinking About JJK As A Meta Narrative For Emotions.

SHibuya incident would be an extreme flare up of negative emotions, causing Itadori to blame himself and consider offing himself.

The apathetic and... kind of dull? Vibe of the culling games would reflect how a lot of characters lose hope, Itadori himself being very apathetic at this point.

... I don't have the most developed thoughts about this right now. I'll have to do a few more rereads and overthink a lot more before I can do a full post thing about this.

But in essence:

Some of JJK's storytelling doesn't make narrative sense. This is because of (a) meta narrative and (b) JJK seems to be 'story first, readers second'. The exact opposite of the common storytelling rule of 'readers first'. (And I never agreed with 'readers first' anyways. JJK is amazing for this and all of its infodumps)

Sometimes I Like Thinking About JJK As A Meta Narrative For Emotions.

Anywhosies, any thoughts on this would be much appreciated! /not forced

This would also make Gege calling attention to Sukuna not using the fire arrow yet make sense...!

This Would Also Make Gege Calling Attention To Sukuna Not Using The Fire Arrow Yet Make Sense...!

okay, im catching up with the jjk manga and im about partway through 246 rn

i have a theory on what the fire technique sukuna used in shibuya was and if im right it will be so cool and i will be a genius for realizing

okay, so! sukuna has been in yujis body this whole time and he really hasnt gotten oppurtunities to fight in it other than in shibuya and at the highschool in the beginning. yuji as we know cannot use cursed techniques yet because hes just too inexperienced at the moment so he fights by channeling his cursed energy into his limbs right?

when sukuna takes over he can use his own cursed techniques like slash and cleave and when fighting as yuji this is basically all we see him use until the fight with jogo when he whips out the fire arrow technique. my first thought was that sukuna just has two techniques or has found a way to learn two techniques but i dont think this is the case now

when sukuna takes over megumi he like almost instantly starts using megumis 10 shadows which is interesting to learn he can do. it leads us to learn that sukuna can use his vessels techniques and apparently at much more advanced levels than the vessels themselves can as we can see during the fight with yorozu and gojo. also during the fight with gojo sukuna says himself that cursed techniques are written into the frontal lobe and basically just waiting to be unlocked/discovered by the curse user

so my thought is this, the fire technique wasnt just another technique or a specific way sukuna was using his cursed technique to create the fire arrow.

i think the curse technique is actually yujis technique that he just hasnt learned how to use yet!! it makes sense with all we have learned from how sukuna possesing a vessel works now that hes possessed megumi and it would also explain why he hasnt once used the technique again after switching from megumi! its because he physically CANT

If Kenjaku really is dead, how pleased do you think Uraume is now that they can finally cook that obnoxious person's brain?

Also, speaking of the brain, there was always assumption that Kenny is the brain. But what if the technique is about possessing the brain which in turn posseses the body? (Unless Gege already explained it and I forgot). I mean, people have different sized brains and skulls. We don't know anything about Kenjaku's original body but there should be some difficulty transplanting the brain into different people's heads. (But again, what do I know.) Actually now that I think about it, cursed techniques are stored in the brain, aren't they (or am i wrong about that too)? So if Kenjaku was simply possessing the body and getting rid of the person's brain, then they wouldn't be able to access the technique of the person they are possessing.

It would certainly be a nice little surprise; Yuuta thinks that he killed Kenjaku but they had already transfered bodies.

Imagine Kenjaku possessing Takaba's body. How romantic would that be, those two becoming one lol oh and what sort of menace would Kenny be with Takaba's cursed technique

But yeah, I've always wondered if Kenjaku is the brain itself, or if there is a twist to that too
