I’ve seen a lot of posts on my dash tonight about users who are threatening suicide, with other Tumblr members posting in effort to try to get ahold of them. I think you all should see this:

IF THERE IS EVER A TUMBLR USER WHO HAS POSTED A GOOD-BYE MESSAGE, SUICIDE NOTE, VIDEO, OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT, PLEASE FOLLOW THIS POST.

1. Scroll to the top of your dashboard.

2. See the circular question mark icon at the top? It’s the third one over from your home symbol. Click on that, and a screen similar to the one in the picture will come up.

3. Where you can type in questions, the box with the magnifying glass at the top, type in the word “suicide.”

4. Click on the first link that shows up. It should say, “Pass the URL of the blog on to us.”

5. Type in the user’s URL and tell Tumblr admin that the user is contemplating suicide and has posted a message indicating that they are going through with it or will be attempting. Hit send! Tumblr administration will perform a number of actions to contact the user and take the necessary steps to prevent the suicide.

TUMBLR: THIS COULD SAVE A USER’S LIFE. PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE SUICIDE THREATS.

Reblog this to keep other users aware. Suicide isn’t a joke, and neither is someone’s life. If you didn’t know this, someone else may not, either. Pass it on.

Real-life Avatar Part 1!

This is the first post of many, many more to come!

I’ve posted most of these comparisons before, but I’m just starting off with the most obvios ones. The comparisons will not be limited to fashion, but also various everyday items, geographic locations, cultural elements, and etc.

As a kid I kinda just went along with my older(mostly male) sibling and cousins and I didnt understand why playing with them was never fun. Then Katara blew up at Sokka, then Suki kicked Soka's butt, then Katara threw hands with Pakku and I figured out I was angry at the sexism i was facing, and my mom was never there to teach me what to do, but Katara and Suki(as well as other characters down the road) were. And it breaks my heart when people treat Katara the way the Ember Island Players did

TOP TEN TIMES ATLA TAUGHT US HOW TO DEMAND RESPECT 

in which the catalyst for this whole series was Katara calling out her brother on his sexist bs 

the correct response to someone devaluing your abilities because of your gender is to threaten to feed them to a giant sea beast 

Aang said “respect my fucking culture, people died here” 

In which every young girl who watched this show learned that you do not, in fact, have to put up with sexist bullshit from anyone. Even if they’re an authority figure or an adult, they are in the wrong and you don’t deserve to be devalued because of your gender. 

Hahn: is classist and devalues Sokka, disregarding the fact that the SWT had been reduced to a small village over the last century, Sokka’s family had been separated by the war, and the waterbenders of his tribe were systematically taken and killed by the Fire Nation 

Sokka: just fucking decks this punk ass bitch 

Zuko said “fuck corrupt cops” 

Smellerbee said “respect my pronouns or face my wrath” 

these assholes: make fun of Toph, who looks very cute after her self-care day

Toph and Katara: exemplify the epitome of Women Supporting Women with some bending action (and leave a giant hole in this bridge, oops) 

If we can be real for a second, this moment is so important for kids to watch. It is always important for kids to see how to establish boundaries in a relationship and that just because your partner is hurting doesn’t mean that it’s okay for them to mistreat you.
