Summary: As Ash’s journey comes to a close, Jessie, James and Meowth reflect on their own journey and come to realize that maybe it’s time to say goodbye to themselves as Team Rocket as well.

The sound of a doorbell rung from a little house in the town of Pallet. A woman excitedly opens the door to see a young boy.

”Ah! Ash! Welcome home! You’re just in time, dinner is almost ready!”, she exclaimed.

“Mmm! I can’t wait!”, the boy says hungrily, the door now closing behind him.

A rustle is heard from behind a nearby patch of thick bushes. A lavender-haired man pokes his head out of the bushes and glances around.

”Hmm…”, he grunts.

”James, what on earth are ya doin?”, a certain talking Meowth asks him.

”I wonder if that’ll be the last we’ll see of that boy and his Pikachu”, James said.

”Eh, probably not”, Meowth replied laying against the bush with his arms behind his head. 

The two-legged feline blinked and then glanced over at their other companion, Jessie, who was sitting on her knees while looking down at the ground.

“Hey, Jessie? You feelin Alright?”, Meowth asked curiously, now getting the attention of James.

”What’s wrong, Jess?”

Jessie was silent for a few seconds before finally speaking shakily, “I’m…not really sure I guess…”

James inched closer to her, “Well, something has to be wrong. You’ve barely spoken a word today”

“I think…”, she began, the hands in her lap clenching into fists.

”We need to discuss something…all of us”

Meowth and James looked at each other confused, but gathered around her to listen anyway.

”What did you want to discuss, Jessie?”, James asked.

“It’s about Pikachu…”, she mumbled.

”Pikachu?”, James and Meowth questioned in unison.

”Yes…I think…”, she looked up at the two of them with tears in her eyes.

”I think it’s about time we gave up on trying to catch Pikachu”

James gasped softly, “But Jessie, we’ve come all this-“

”No”, Jessie interrupted.

“It’s over. You’ve seen the bond between Pikachu and that boy…It’s unbreakable, and now that his journey is ending…well, I think it’s time to give up”

James and Meowth thought for a moment. Maybe Jessie was right, maybe with the end of the boy’s journey, it was time for theirs to end too.

“But what about Team Rocket?”, Meowth blurted out.

Jessie sighed, “Well, Meowth…I think it’s time we left Team Rocket behind us”

James stood up in shock, “You’re not saying we should go our separate ways, are you?!”

”No! Of course not! I want us to stay together forever, James!”

Jessie covered her mouth and blushed, she couldn’t believe she just let that slip.

“…Oh, Jessie”, James’s eyes filled with tears.

”I want to stay with you forever too”, he blubbered.

Meowth was crying now too, ”Me *sniff* too”

The trio huddled together for a group hug.

”We’ll never leave each other’s side…that’s what family is for”, Jessie said.

”Family?”, James inquired.

”We are like a family aren’t we?”, she replied.

James smiled and blushed, ”Oh…yeah”

Meowth suddenly got a smug look on his face, “Looooove is in the air”

”Oh quiet you!”, Jessie shouted, holding up her fist.

James simply chuckled in response before speaking again, “Alright, you two. Why don’t we put our notice in for the boss first thing tomorrow morning”

”I’m on board with that!”, Meowth said.

Jessie smiled, ”Me too!”

The three of them each got up, and together, as a family, emerged from the bushes and walked away on the sunset-lit path.

“Looks like Team Rocket’s blasting off for good!”, Jessie yelled, her arms out wide.

”Ooh! I like the way that sounds! Let’s all say it!”, James exclaimed.

Meowth liked that idea too, ”Okay! On the count’a 3! 1…2…3!”

“LOOKS LIKE TEAM ROCKET’S BLASTING OFF FOR GOOD!!!”, The trio shouted, a bittersweet echo sounding afterwards.

5 years later…

“James, darling, do you know where the movers put those boxes?”, A woman with a long crimson braid called out from upstairs.

”Which ones?”, said the man, who was struggling to carry a stack of cardboard boxes up the stairs.

”This one. Here let me help you”, she began to take the top box from his stack.

James hesitated, ”But Jessie, You’re-“

”Being pregnant isn’t going to stop me from helping set up the nursery, dear”, Jessie laughed, heaving a box into the unfinished room.

She then walked over and threw open the dusty curtains that had been hooked to the window, revealing the bright sunny morning upon them.

”She sure is in high spirits today”, Meowth commented from behind James.

James nearly dropped the boxes he had been holding, “Goodness, Meowth! Don’t scare me like that!”

”Also, this baby ain’t gonna replace me, is it?”, he asked.

James rolled his eyes playfully, “We’ve been over this a thousand times, we would never replace you”

“Hey! What do they think they’re-“, Jessie suddenly blurted from the other room.

”What is it, Jess?”, James asked placing the boxes down at the top of the staircase.

”Look at these two kids! Thinking they can just loiter on our property!”, Jessie huffed.

James looked out the nursery room window to see a scruffy, dark-haired teen laughing and flirting with a tall red-headed girl on the stone fence connected to their house.

”Well, this house was unoccupied for a long time, maybe they don’t know”, he said.

”Ugh! That’s besides the po-…wait a minute”, Jessie paused.

“What?”

”Do they…look familiar to you?”

James took another look at the young couple and noticed that they indeed looked familiar.

”That boy…and the girl too…are they?”

Jessie smiled, “Yes, yes they are”

The two of them watched the two of them for another minute before the red-haired girl planted a kiss on the boy’s cheek, making him blush.

”WHAT?! WHY ARE THEY KISSING?! HOW OLD ARE THEY?!”, Jessie yelled out of shock.

James tried to quiet her down, ”Relax, Jessie. They’re-“

The two teens must have heard Jessie’s yelling because they suddenly swiveled around from where they were sitting to see what all the commotion was about.

”Wah!”, the two shouted, immediately closing the curtain so they wouldn’t be seen.

Jessie turned to face her partner, “Did they see us?”

”I hope not”, he replied.

”What’s all the yellin about?”, Meowth asked, strolling into the nursery.

“Uhh, nothing…nothing at all”, James said, now getting back to carrying the boxes.

Meowth raised an eyebrow suspiciously and yet, suspected nothing, “Okay…”

As soon as he left the room all was normal again, but Jessie couldn’t help herself. However, when the old cloth curtains sprung open once more, the teens were gone.

Instead of being upset, Jessie smiled fondly and put her hands on her hips, “Well, it seems our boy has grown up quite well, hasn’t he?”

”I couldn’t agree more…I hope ours grows up just as well”, James replied.

Saeran Choi x Sizeshifter MC

It's almost winter break which for me means playing Mystic Messenger because I actually have the time to do so. I was feeling inspired so I wrote a little scenario that I've been thinking about for awhile now. This is very self-indulgent, but I hope that you enjoy.

MC was strange. Ray had known that since the beginning. They had answered his call and allowed themselves to be blindfolded and taken to a place they had never been. They never doubted his sincerity when he lied about RFA, and continued to trust him even after he admitted to lying about it. They never once stopped believing in him after Saeran came out and starved them. It never occurred to him why MC acted this way. All he cared about was the love that MC had given him. His second chance at life. Of course, in order decide what his next step in life would be, the newly whole Saeran needed to get he and MC away from Mint Eye.

They had been running for hours now. The abandoned cottage was within their sights, when MC suddenly let out a pained yelp and fell to the ground. Saeran asked MC if they were alright before actually turning around. Looking at them it was clear to him that MC was not alright, as they were on their hands and knees with a vacant look in their eyes and a pained expression on their face. He knelt down beside them, but before he could say anything MC let out a pained groan. And that's when the growth started. Saeran stared in shock as he watched them grow. He had to crane his neck and move backwards more and more just to keep looking at them. They were clearly in pain, but Saeran was helpless as he watched their face get farther and farther away from his. Then, just as suddenly as it started, the growing stopped. Saeran just stood there, his mouth agape, staring up at his lover who now towered over him. MC began to blink, trying to bring clarity back to their vision. When they finally locked eyes the comparatively tiny Saeran below them, MC's face turned from pained to terrified. Saeran could feel their breath wash over him as they muttered to themself things like, "Why is this happening again?" and "I thought this had stopped." Tears began to well up in MC's eyes, worrying Saeran even further. Things had just gotten a whole lot stranger.
