McCree has been Renamed: Cole Cassidy

Alright, the Overwatch Team announced McCree's official name now to be Cole Cassidy. The name change will be implemented on October 26th. His name in the hero gallery will be Cassidy.

I actually really like this name change, especially the last name change. Cole is a fine first name, but I think having Cassidy being his last name is pretty cool. I would assume that it is inspired by Butch Cassidy who was a famous train/bank robber and gang leader from the Old West as well as Hopalong Cassidy who was a fictional cowboy created by Clarence M. Mulford in 1904(If you are interested in learning about either here is the link for Butch Cassidy and Hopalong Cassidy). Both people probably were some of the original inspirations for Cole Cassidy.

Anyways, sorry for not posting at all since the start of the Halloween Event. It's the end of the first quarter for me, so I have kind of been bombarded by homework. With that being said, I just want to remind anyone who sees this post that we only have about 3 more days to get the Einherjar Zarya. ~ Nova.

I understand if people don't like the name because of what the name is, I get, that's just your opinion on the name itself. With that being said, if you are unhappy with the name because it was changed, I really encourage you to read this.

Quick Question: Nail Colors...

So, I wanted to put this in a different post since it isn't Overwatch-related. I just have a question.

The way my county's school system works, I'm not in high school with any of my close friends, so we only really hang out together outside of school. Our winter break is starting soon, so I am going to go get my nails done with a friend of mine. The issue with that is that I have no idea what color I want to get my nails painted and I was wondering if any of you guys do anything like this and have any ideas.

I want to do something Christmas/holiday-related. I was thinking either green and red or white and gold. I don't really want to do anything with blue since that is the color of my nails now, I'll include an image or two of what color I have now for reference; it's a kind of robin egg blue.

So, yeah. Do you guys have any ideas or recommendations for colors or color combinations?

Overwatch Events: Clown Roadhog

Alright, it's week 3 of the 2021 Halloween Event, so it's time to get the creepy skin. For the rest of the week(today - Nov. 2), you will be able to get the skin by playing enough games to get 27 points(2 pts for a win, 1 pt for a loss). Good luck, I'm going to need it...

Overwatch 2 News: Sombra and Bastion Rework

Alright! It's been a bit. I'm sorry this took so long to come out, school has been kind of rough. With that said, I thought I would just talk about my opinions on the new OW2 reworks. So, let's get into it!

Overview: Sombra is actually my favorite DPS to play, so I do really like this rework. Although, it is definitely really overpowered and will need to be nerfed a little to make sure Sombra isn't overused at the Overwatch League level of play.

Specifics: For her passive ability: I like it because it will make it easier for her to finish targets. I like that it is going to make Sombra a stronger DPS. For her EMP(ultimate): This is similar to my previous point, I like this change because it is focusing more on her damage output. I also like that they are tuning out some of her CC. For translocator: I'm glad they didn't change anything. For her hack ability: I think that this is such a cool change! I like that they are tuning down the CC, but are giving Sombra more chances to hack people. I also think that giving her wallhacks is going to be fun to play. For her stealth ability: Like her hack, I really like this change. I'm glad they are making the fade-in time faster, that's going to make escaping situations easier. I also like that she can hack while invisible, I think it fits with her character well. I hope they incorporate it into future animated shorts.

Overview: I like Bastion's rework, but not as much as I like Sombra's. I like the change to his appearance. Although, I think his ultimate is actually weaker in OW2 than it is now in OW.

Specifics: For his recon configuration: I like that they are forcing Bastion to be longer range, and I like the reduced weapon spread. I think it will make him feel like even more of a hitscan. For his sentry configuration: I think the movement speed makes sense and I think giving him unlimited ammo is cool. I like how he looks more like a real-life tank now, I am wondering how much of an effect that reduced damage will have. For his artillery configuration(ultimate): I think it's alright, it's just a reworked version of Doomfist's ultimate. I think that it is worse than his current ultimate because of how vulnerable he will be while targeting locations. For self-repair: I think that it makes sense that he is losing this ability, but I am interested to see how it changes how Bastion interacts with healers, specifically Mercy. For his tactical grenade: I think that it is cool, but I feel like it doesn't match with his character super well. It feels like more of a sci-fi weapon while Bastion has always seemed more based in reality.

Anyways, I will (hopefully) be posting about the 2021 Halloween Terror Event sometime soon. Based on the other dates when the Halloween Terror Event happened in the past, I believe that the event should start on the 11th, but we'll see what happens.

Overwatch Events: Cassidy's New Blood Challenge

Alright, Cassidy's New Blood Challenge has begun! It will be live from now until November 23rd. If you play during the challenge, you will be able to win a player icon, a spray, and skin. If you want any Overwatch Twitch streamers during the event you will be able to get 6 sprays via Twitch drops.

By playing 9 games, you will win the Sandstorm Player Icon. By playing 18 games, you will win the Old Friends spray. By playing 27 games, you will win the Sandstorm Cassidy skin.

If you watch 2 hours of Overwatch Twitch streamers you will get the Back to Back spray. If you watch another 2 hours (4 hours overall) of Overwatch Twitch streamers you will get the Talon Spotted and Cute Bike sprays. If you watch another 2 hours (6 hours overall) of Overwatch Twitch streamers you will get the Determined, Hat Tip, and Tea Break sprays.

I thought that we would be getting a short story to go with this event, but we are actually getting a comic series for Cassidy called New Blood. Since I have a bunch going on this week, I will be covering the first issue of the series later this week or next week, but from what I've seen, as well as Cassidy, Ana and Pharah are going to be in this series.

Anyways, like I said, I will be covering the first issue of New Blood and there is a piece of Overwatch League news that I might mention, but I need to think about it first. With that being said, have fun playing if you try to get the event items, and good luck!
