Okay I know I just made a post about how I don’t like that a core part of fanon Destiel is making Sam inferior to Dean but LEMME TALK MY SHIT because this has been ONE OF MY MOST HATED LINES EVER.

In season 6 when Dean successfully calls Cas down from heaven after Sam says he’s been trying to for a year and Cas explains it as “Dean and I have a more profound bond” I know it’s used as THE destiel line but like it’s kinda,,, out of place in context??? Like what the fuck you mean more profound bond Castiel you somehow reached through the bars of an inescapable prison to rescue Sam from Lucifer. The cage is Litterally THE prison and Castiel rescued him ALONE. Like how the fuck did he even do that,

BUT onto my shit talking, I think it would’ve been so much more interesting as well as set up for the soulless reveal if Castiel couldn’t hear Sam. Like Cas is a celestial being that is as tall as a skyscraper and is constantly filtering out angel radio, if souls are pure energy and noise then a body without a soul trying to pray would be,,, silent. Would be just incoherent static that would be filtered out with all the other sounds of empty space. It could have been so creepy, and got so well with the unnerving vibe they were going for with soulless!sam. It could’ve also been foreshadowing for the Castiel rescue reveal, as when Sam argues that he’s been praying to Castiel every night we could’ve had a shot of Castiel from behind guarding his expression from Dean, desperate to not give anything away now that he knows something has gone wrong.

And yeah I could keep watching, there’s still a lot of other people I like on the server but there’s such a loud silence now that never had to happen.
