Ok so i finished the Book of Bill, and though I won't spew out all my thoughts and theories right here, I did have a thought that I feel is interesting (or maybe its a stretch who knows)

Also spoilers for TBOB, just in case:

what if, besides from literally killing him, what if another reason Bill hates Stanley so much is that maybe....he reminds him of himself?

My reasons as to why?

Bill constantly refers to Stan as "inferior" or a "weaker clone of Sixer". I believe that he says this not just because he holds Ford on a pedestal, but also as a form of projection (something I don't doubt because he refers to himself as a "monster" when Ford asks what his home was destroyed by)

Despite not being outright stated, it is heavily implied Bill was outcasted by his peers for him not fitting the norm (3rd dimension talk and "mutation". Something that Stanley also dealt with from his peers (and father) too

At his core, Bill really is a con man. Making deals and invoking a sort of speciality in whoever he tricks. Even Stanley acknowledges that in a way "Look, take it from a master con artist- if a deal seems too good to be true, thats because it is!". Both him and Stan do it to get what they want (Money for Stan, and power for Bill), at least Stanley though has some morals when it comes to it

The only real difference between Stan and Bill is (besides of their idea of "deals" varying in extremity) is that Stan has, even when he thought they didn't care for them, has always valued for his loved ones. Bill took advantage of those who trusted him and/or left them behind for how he wanted to form himself, which ultimately lead to his spiral downward.
