LIGHT:

OMG he’d be mad, but also maybe a little intrigued. It would not compute to Light Yagami that he could possibly be relegated to a non-romantic interest by anyone he’d set his sights on. He’d turn up the charm 1000% more and treat it as a personal challenge, become incredibly seductive and hard to resist. If it still didn’t work he’d find a way to convince himself he never wanted to be with that person in the first place and they were totally beneath him, and then come up with a zillion sneaky ways to get revenge on this person and make their life a complete living hell, all while appearing to be incredibly friendly and innocent.

L:

He’d probably just become extremely persistent and obnoxious, also treating their disinterest in him as a personal challenge. He’d slyly tease the shit out of them and come up with a million ways to manipulate the environment/situation and force them to spend time with him. If it still didn’t work he’d eat a tub of ice cream and sulk like crazy and then abruptly cut off all contact with them, forever and ever, amen.

NEAR:

I think he’d shrug it off fairly easily. He wouldn’t be pushy, and he’d probably be cool with just being friends. He might think cranky/judgy things about them if he was in a bad mood, but he has good self-esteem and isn’t that egotistical, so though he might be sad about it he wouldn’t do anything underhanded or vindictive.

MELLO:

This kind of rejection would jab him directly in the inferiority complex. I don’t think he’d instantly flip out about it, but he’d be spurred on to prove that they made a big mistake by passing him up. He’d probably hold a huge grudge and end up doing something incredibly dramatic to get even with them years down the road.

MATT:

He’d kind of expect it, maybe? Try to weakly laugh it off as “HAHA JK I WASN’T SERIOUS I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU FELL FOR THAT” and then go shoot a bunch of zombies on his Playstation and get drunk and call Mello to complain.

BEYOND:

He’d be extremely passive aggressive about it and try to make them feel sorry for him in roundabout ways whilst acting like he was totally fine. He’d find a zillion reasons to come by their house and pretend it was for any reason other than the actual one. He’d constantly drop innuendos and suggestive remarks into most conversations, thinking he was being witty and subtly inciting romantic ideas within them subconsciously instead of just being extremely awkward and annoying to hang out with. Once he actually got the hint for real, he’d probably just make himself scarce and go listen to angry emo music alone in his room while singing dramatically into the mirror and feeling sorry for himself.
