let me try and rearticulate this one since I've been feeling like a belligerent cunt for the last 48 hours: the military is like a big murder cult, and we let the big murder cult exist because it makes us nice promises about safety and access to resources, among other things. if someone in a cult commits suicide in a spectacular public fashion and blames the cult as they do it, I think the burden of public scrutiny should be placed on the cult. people who are currently being victimized by the same cult should not be criticized for having feelings of respect, cameraderie, or admiration for the dead person.
