Imagine saving Steve in the upside downâŠ

The boat rocked slightly over the settled lake. It had been several minutes since Steve had bravely dunked himself down into the dark waters, something you admired.
You glanced to Nancy who tapped her knee nervously, watching as she smiled weakly your way, of course you were all still and quiet, you were waiting for Steve to reappear.
âGuys heâs gonna be okay-â you were cut off by a short huff from Robin. You instantly knew why, her and Steve were practically soul mates, but in a platonic way, with a capital âPâ.
âI know, But like what if he isnât, what are we going to do- there could be so many things lerking underneath this boat and-â
Nancy shushed her kindly, placing one of her fingers over her parted lips. You could hear the bubbles, which you assumed were from Steve, a wave of relief fell over you and others, all four of you glancing over the edge of the boat.
Everything stilled, quiet, the crickets hissing in the forest surrounding you. It didnât last long. Steve flung his arms over the edge of the boat, his hair drenched, latching onto his forehead and neck.
He sighed, breathing for air as he nodded with a proud smirk.
âI-I found itâ he quickly panted out, resting half of weight on the small boat. You chuckled, one of your hands clutching at his face before pecking his damp lips.
Eddie physically yucked at the sight whilst Robin proudly contacted Dustin over the Walkie he gave to you.
âDustin, you were right, your a goddamn Einstein, Steve found the gate-â
You were cut off by the echoing of police sirens, something that had fear settling in the pit of your stomach. You grasped at Steveâs arm, all five of you looking over to the dark crowd of treeâs, Max, Lucus and Dustin no where to be seen.
Steve still panted, looking up to you.
âItâs wild, itâs more of a snack sized gate compared to the momma gate- b-but still, itâs pretty damn bigâ he chuckles, eagerness lacing his voice, itâs like he wanted to check the danger out.
The boat rocks suddenly when Steve dips under water, his hands gripping the boat allowing it to rock. Steve turns to look behind him, the water still once again, but only for a couple of seconds before heâs dragged by somethingâŠ
He completely disappears from your view. You scramble to the edge once again looking down at the water.
âSTEVE!â Robin screams, fear and emotion filling the air as Nancy to joins you, both of you peering at the dark ibis underneath the water.
âWHAT THE HELL WAS THAT MAN-â Eddie shouted, the four of you remaining on the boat clutched to each other, you really had no clue what to do, but the urgency to go after him had taken over you like a spirit.
âNo no no what are you doing?!â Eddie questioned, worried and completely questioning the circumstances.
âJustâŠwait hereâ he trailed off watching as you began taking off your jumper, lighter layers would allow you to swim better. You dive into the water, both Robin and Nancy reaching out to your bodyâŠtoo late.
You used your arms to push your body towards the glowing red hole, the still water clinging to your clothes as you hesitated to swim through the gaping hole to the upside down.
ââââ
A loud bang rattles through the air, signaling your entrance, your grasping at the wooden pallete in your hand, smacking the flying gargoyle-like creatures away from a helpless Steve.
âHey thereâŠâ you chuckle as all four of you each take on a monster. You watch Steve struggling, his body stiff from a lack of oxygen. He reaches at the tale wrapped around neck tightly.
You immediately start smacking the creature as Nancy steps on the tail. Robin uses her torch, hitting the head, the creature screeched as all three of you began bashing it to nothingness.
âCome on!â Robin screamed, but it didnât seem to budge. Of course you had no recall of how many there were, one latching itself on to the back of a vulnerable Nancy.
She starts to shout, trying to grab onto it from behind her.
âROBIN GET IT OFF!â
Robin immediately grabs the flying demon, using the ground she practically tackles it into the floor, bashing itâs body whilst Nancu squishes itâs stomach with the Pallete.
Eddie helps by defending her back. You chase after Steve, hands wrapping around the creatures body before you started to pull at it.
Your startled by Steveâs urgency to move, the tail slipping itâs tightness as you pull and Steve pushes. Immediately his neck his free allowing him to rush up to his feet, grabbing the slimy tail from you he bashed the creature the ground as you began to trod on it, kicking the now weaker demon.
âFuck you!â You shout, anger filling your senses before you stomp on the head squishing itâŠfinally. Steve stands, blood leaking from his mouth. Your eyes glance to his chest, and eventually lower to view the bite marks that gaped on his abdomen.
âS-Steve-â you whisper, your hands lightly prodding at the marks, but he shakes his head.
âAre you o-okay?â You question, Steve leaning into you as support.
âW-Well theyâve taken a pound of fleshâŠbut other then that- never betterâŠâ you kiss him desperately, allowing time for Steve to kiss back, one of his hands cradling your cheek.
You pull apart hearing the relieved chuckles escape the others.
âIâm not going anywhereâ Steve whispers before you wrap one of his arms around your neckâŠthe crowd of hissing creatures approached you which given your current circumstancesâŠmaybe it was a good idea to run.
âRunâŠâ Nancy states, all four of you following her suit towards the forest, you clutch onto Steve, both of you giving each other smilesâŠAtleast he was okay, for now.
This sounds like something that would happen to me đ

poly! Sinclair's x reader summary: The boys have a new group of tourists coming in, only this time one of them is special. Special enough to keep.

"Thank you for giving us a ride" your sister spoke nervously beside you on her boyfriend lap as he wrapped an arm securely around her waist. You sat wedged between them and the mystery man from the pit. Warning: Death (non-main character), cursing, talk of schizophrenia, words used like hillbilly, and incest slurs
"aint no problem" he spoke, eyes glancing your group back to the road. your eyes stayed down cast, fingers fiddling with the rings adorned on your digits. "Quiet one aint ya" The man spoke.
You looked up giving a shy smile to the man. "Sorry, I get lost in my own head sometimes" you mumbled, trying to keep your eyes away from the window.
"How much farther" Your sister's boyfriend, Carter, chimed in. Annoyance evident in his voice. "Just around this bend" The man spot. Carter clicked his tongue but said nothing else.
A few seconds later the truck stopped, and the man let your group out. "Just head up the road and Bo will help ya out" he said, spitting to the side. Carter and your sister were quick to walk away.
"u-um thank you for the ride, and sorry about him. he's... not the best" you said, looking up at the pit man. He smiled and shrugged "people can't be helped" "names Lester by the way" he spoke, shooting a handout.
You smiled and shook his head, despite the dirt and dried blood caked on it "My names Y/n. again thank you for the ride" you spoke, pulling and looking over when your name was called.
"Be careful on your ride" you shouted and jogged to your sister as she tapped her foot impatiently. Lester watched in interest before stepping back into his truck and shooting Bo a quick text before driving off.
~~~~~~
"He's not in there" Your sister, Robin, spoke. Her hands covering her eyes to look into the shop. Carter scoffed and kicked a rock. "Told you that guy was a creep" He said.
"he wasn't, he said if Bo wasn't at the garage he'd be in the church" you spoke, picking at your satchel strings. Carter rolled his eyes, glancing at the church where more cars were parked.
"guess we'll check it outâ Robin took his head, nudging her head for you to follow as they began to make their way to the church.Â
You took one step before you felt the familiar shiver run down your spine. You gulped and turned, seeing the ghostly figure of the deer standing in the brush, stomping her hoof she waited on you. You gulped and glanced at your group taking a deep breath and following the thing, ignoring the shivers running down your body.Â
Just as you stepped into the brush, the doe started hopping faster, encouraging your form to follow, you yelped and stumbled after. âW-wait where are you taking me!â you tried to patch speed with the deer but she continued to keep the same distance, only slowing down when you were too far behind.Â
You saw the familiar back roads from before coming up, you jogged to catch up, seeing the doe stop just across the road. You stepped into the road, hearing a horn and seeing Lester's green truck coming along. You squeaked and ran across the path, looking around for the doe, seeing her stomping her foot once again to your left. You huffed and jogged to follow her, not noticing Lesters truck stalling in the road. ~~~~~~
âFuck fuck fuck â Lester said grabbing his phone and dialing Bo number as fast as he could. âKinda busy hereâ Boâs voice spoke after a few seconds. âOne of the girls just ran across the road into the woods. I thought she was still with her sister and the boy ``Lester spoke, he could hear the growl in Boâs voice. âFuck, no wonder the other girl was whining about a sisterâ He huffed.Â
âOk ok, Iâll pretend to help look for em, just try to bring em back, dead or alive and clean ya hear me?â Bo said. Lester gulped âokay okay just let Vincent knowâ he said and hung up.Â
Lester quickly turned the truck off and stepped out, grabbing his gun and stepping into the woods. He normally wasnât one for the hunts but that didnât mean he couldnât do them but it was different. How could he shoot someone as nice as you, hell he could do it to literally anyone but you were nice to him, actually giving him the time of day rather than assuming he was some random creep.Â
Lester sighed and began walking through the forest, looking for your form and tracking the footprints along the ground ~~~~~~
âGod why canât she just listen to meâ Robin cried out, pulling on her hair. Bo lit a cigarette listening to the duo complain about you. âTold you you should have stuck her into the psych ward, did you even look at those pamphlets?â Carter spoke. Bo tilted his head over at the two, raising a brow.Â
âYour sister crazy or somethingââ bo asked, Robin gulped and wrung her hands. âN-no well not exactly. She claims to see these things, doctors claim schizophreniaâ she spoke. âShe's a damn nut who needs to be institutionalized before she hurts someone or herselfâ Carter spoke, Bo watched as the duo began bickering once more.Â
God you had to be something for these two to want to put you in a ward. Bo definitely hoped Lester would catch you alive.Â
~~~~~
You moved the branches out of your way as you followed the doe, the form becoming fuzzy. You could feel the blood running down your nose, dripping along the forest floor and hitting your shoes. âP-please wait '' you panted, running up to the deer who finally stopped.Â
You huffed and stepped closer, finally seeing what she wanted you to see. The human remains of a woman laid in front of you, a large hunting knife in her chest, her eyes staring into the blue sky.Â
You began to step closer to the deer kneeling down, before closing her eyes and setting her head on the woman's stomach, fading into the wind.
âThere ya are!â Lester's voice spoke, causing you to whip your head around. He slung his gun around his shoulder raising his hands up âwoah there girly, ya nose bleedinâ like a gusherâ he said, stepping cautiously to you. Him.him.him.him
They spoke in chants. Your eyes went back to the knife. âY-yeah i fell and hit a treeâ you said, stepping over to Lester, letting him help guide you out of the clearing. You didnât ask about the corpse, too afraid to ask anyhow.Â
~~~~~~
Lester's eyes kept glancing at your form, tissues tucked into your nose to stop the bleeding. Your eyes were distant but as they stared out into the passing scenery. âSorry to cause such a ruckusâ you muttered so quietly Lester almost missed it.Â
âWhyâd you go running off?â he asked.Â
âI-i umâ you stuttered.Â
âIâŠsee things sometimesâŠ.people think iâm crazy. Mama used to be able to see the same but the doctors said she was crazy so they locked her up. She killed herself in the asylumâ You admitted. âIâm sorry sweetheart,â Lester said, frowning.Â
âRobin is scared the same is gonna happen to me but..she doesnât understand I guess. Carter just wants me goneâ you looked up at the road, Lester patting your knee âsometimes the supernatural is scary and sometimes it's beautiful. Gotta pick a side to see darlinâ he said. You smiled a little at himÂ
âThanks for listening and thank you for the kind words, I'll remember them,â you said. ~~~~~~
âThank god you're ok!â Robin said, pulling your form into a hug. You wheeze and let her hold you for a bit. âI told you to stop wandering off. Now look at you, your nose is all bloodyâ she said. Your eyes went to the ground âwhere did you go?â she asked. You went to speak but Carter butted in.Â
âProbably following those stupid hallucinationsâ he scoffed. Your hands tightened on your shirt. âCarter, shut up, stop being an assholeâ Robin spoke. You kicked the ground and looked up when a new pair of shoes stepped into your line of view.Â
âReally know how to get a girl worried,â the man said. You smiled sheepishly âsorry, you must be Bo. Iâm sorry to cause such a ruckusâ You said, Bo watched you, flicking his cigarette off to the side before smiling. âIt's fine sugar, gotta have some entertainmentâ he said, patting you on the shoulder.Â
âNow, since we have all the kiddos here, how about I show you the Wax museum while Lester brings your car hereâ Bo said, wrapping an arm around your shoulder and ushering you all to the wax museum. ~~~~~~
âWow, these are amazingâ You spoke out loud, looking around the many figures that were in the foyer of the museum. âVincent made them all, trudyâs boyâ Bo spoke, gesturing to the news clipping behind the desk. âAnd he didnât get famous from this?â you asked, looking at the cobwebbed articles. âSadly not, after Trudy passed away, the place stopped being so interestingâ Bo said.Â
You hummed in thought looking around. Ignoring Carter's glare on your form âhow long is that Pit guy gonna be?â he spoke. Robin hit his chest glaring âhis names Lester and he shouldnât be longâ Bo spoke, you glanced at his form before looking at the art.Â
âI told you we shouldnât have gone to some rundown museum. Who knows what these hillbillies will do to my carâÂ
âCarter stop!â
âWhat did you say?â Bo said, stepping in front of Carter who squared up with the Mechanic. âYou heard me, you and your cousin fuckin brother out there are probably ust distracting us and stealing parts off my carâ He hissed. Your eyes widened as you watched the two begin to step closer to one another.Â
âCarter stop! They're trying to help us!â Robin spoke. âWe wouldnt be in this mess if you just admitted that your sisters crazy instead of taking her to some fuckin doctor half way across the statesâ Carter growled.Â
You froze and looked at your sister ây-you said we were going on a road trip before you went to your internship in washingtonâ You spoke, stepping closer. Bo side eyed your form as you stood next to him. âYou lied to me?âÂ
âN-no no! I didnât lie we are going on the road trip, iot just so happens to end at this doctors officeâ Robin spoke.Â
Your jaw tightened as you stared at your feet. âYou think iâm not fit to raise myselfâ you huffed. Robin fell silent as she fiddled with her hands. âIâm. Not. Crazy!â You finally snapped. Your blinked and the knife from the corpse was in your hands, you felt you werenât inm control/Â
âW-woah! Y/n calm downâ Robin spoke, her hands raising. âNO! Iâm tired of you always walking on eggshells around me! I know what I see and what I donât!. Just cause you put Mama in the ward does not mean I will go next!â You growled.Â
You felt like you were on autopilot. You could see yourself standing on the sidelines as you tackled your sister, the knife going through her form and out her back. Tears fell down your cheeks as your mind caught up. The corpse in the woods was your sister, that's why Lester didnât ask.Â
He hadnât seen it. Why he didnât notice his knife missing from his belt when he dropped you off.Â
You sobbed as you moved off your sister, her weakened sobs breaking the empty air. âYou crazy bitch!â Carter screamed but his throat was slit by a man with long hair, a mask covering his face. He stared at your form as you sniffled and sobbed into your bloody hands. The knife falling from your grip and hitting the wax floor with a dull thud.Â
âIâm sorry, Iâm sorry Iâm sorryâ You sobbed, Bo pulling your form into his chest as you cried your heart out. âHey hey now sugar, it's okayâ he said.Â
âThis is my brother Vincentâ he said, turning your teary eyed face up to his twin. âT-the artistâ you sniffled, mind in disarray. âYup that's him, he really liked your compliments. Vincent kills just like you did. We all do sweetheart. You protected yourself, that's what we do '' Bo said, it couldnât hurt to sprinkle a few lies onto his story.Â
~~~~~~
Bo guided you to his home, his twin cleaning up the mess in the museum while you cleaned yourself up. âA-are you sure itâs ok for me to stay here?â you sniffled, fixing the rather large sleeping shirt on your form. Bo smiled and nodded âsure is sweetheart, your special, too special to let us let you goâ he said.Â
That night, Bo let you lay in his bed while he worked on helping Vincent. Lester stopped by with some food as he checked in on you. âYou doin ok honeysuckle?â He asked. You nodded as you ate the sandwich. âI-iâm not as sad as I should be. I-i mean i did just murder my sister and now Iâm staying with a bunch of other murderers who turn people to waxâ you said.Â
Lester chuckled and nodded âyeah weird world we live in huh?â he joked. You gave a small smile before handing him the plate. He stood up and took her hand, kissing the back of it quickly before leaving you to your devices.Â
Bo stopped in after a few hours, making you scoot over so he could sit. He fully introduced you to Vincent who Bo said couldnât speak due to a deformity at birth so he did sign language. You did your best to understand Vincent in sign language, only learning some when you were in highschool.Â
Vincent left to finish his work and Bo laid in bed with you, giving you space as you both laid in silence. âYour gonna be safe from now on sweetpea, aint no one gonna hurt you ever againâ he spoke, head turning to your form, sleep already overtaking you.Â
Bo smiled and wrapped you in the blanket, kissing the crown of your head and leaving you alone to sleep through the night. Already discussing future plans with you to his brothers. Like he said.Â
You were too special to let go.Â
Too special to let anyone else have.

Steve Harrington x Male!Munson!Reader
(can we talk about how adorable this gif is.. the way he sways and he looks so focused <3)
itâs fluffy stuff, but there is like parts containing the scenes of the Russian base part of s3, so wounds, injuries, blood, all that stuff
other warnings: an argument, sort of internalized homophobia?? uh panic attack..
iâm a big fan of angst to fluff âŠ
some of this might not make sense, sorry if it doesnât, i like writing so i kinda just word vomit
â
Steve Harrington didnât like men. He liked girls. You could ask any semi-popular girl at Hawkins High if theyâd hooked up with "King Steve" and youâd get a yes.
Thatâs where everything went wrong. You liked Steve Harrington. Now, after heâd gotten out of his King Steve persona at school, and started working at Scoops Ahoy, you two became friends since you were working there as well.
You and Robin had grown close before that time â both of you being gay and outcasts, after all. Well, Robin wasnât that much of an outcast, but she certainly wasnât popular.
Being the brother of Eddie Munson kind of just came with being an outcast and occasionally bullied. Steve and his friends were no exception, only.. Steve didnât really bully you. Heâd tag along with his friends, but he would never do anything physical to you. Maybe a few comments here and there, but that was it.
That always made you curious, but you never asked him about it. When you first got a job at Scoops, you told Eddie immediately.
"Eddie! I got a job at Scoops Ahoy!" You yelled as you entered the trailer, a happy smile on your face as he exited your shared room and pulled you into a hug.
"Thatâs great! You workinâ with anyone?" He asked, pulling away and leaning against the wall.
"Yeah, Robin and Steve from school."
He knew Robin, but Steve? Steve Harrington working at Starcourt Mall? "Steve? As in Steve Harrington?"
You nodded, and your brother shook his head, disbelieving. "No way." You laughed. "Itâs true! You can come see yourself."
"Maybe." Eddie shrugged.
Now, you were trapped in the underground Russian base with Robin and Steve, except you were the one that was tortured by the Russian guards while the other two stayed only captured.
When you had been thrown into the cell with your coworkers, barely conscious and badly beaten, Steve and Robin frantically tried to get to you from within their restraints.
"Y/N? Y/N, are you okay?" Robin called out, shuffling to you in her restraints, while Steve was immediately filled with anger. "What did you do to him? Did you kill him!?" He yelled at the Russians, but was only met with a mocking laugh.
As they checked over you, you weakly lifted your head, groaning softly which caught your friendsâ attention.
"Y/N?" Steve asked with both relief and slight disbelief.
"Yâ Yeah..?" You groaned back, your entire body in pain. "Oh my god, are you okay?" Robin fretted.
"Iâmâ Iâm fine.. if you donât count the fact that my entire body hurts." You muttered with a wince.
When you all had been drugged, and had gotten to the bathroom, you widened your eyes as Robin told Steve that she liked girls.
You knew already, but you werenât expecting her to tell Steve. He distracted her from her worries, cracking jokes that made all three of you laugh.
The drugs were wearing off, but you still had a bit in your system. Steveâs reaction to Robin coming out made you want to as well, but you used all of your willpower to not do it, knowing that youâd end up exposing your crush as well.
When Eddie had heard the news of the mall fire, he knew you were there, and drove recklessly to the mall, hoping you were okay.
You were sitting in the back of a firetruck when he got there, and your brother ran to you, a hand gently pushing your chin up as he looked over your wounds. He hadnât even noticed that Steve was sitting beside you.
"Holy shit, Y/N, what happened?" Eddie asked breathlessly, his eyes wide and worried.
You didnât have the energy to respond, the adrenaline far gone from your body.
"The fire got him worse than any of us." Steve spoke for you, making Eddie finally notice him.
"Harrington, these arenât burns. What the fuck happened?" Your brother repeated, a protective feeling taking over him as he glared at Steve.
The male sitting beside you didnât take offense to the glare, though. If he was in Eddieâs shoes, heâd be protective too.
Steve decided to just be blunt, "Russians beat him up."
"Okay, now youâre just lying though your teeth. What. Happened." Eddie demanded, trying his best to keep his anger to a minimum.
You didnât like where this was going, and spoke up, though your voice was still very quiet.
"Steveâs not lying." You muttered, and Eddie looked back down at you, still hesitant, but he nodded, deciding to leave it alone for now. Heâd bring it up later.
"..Fine." Eddie sighed, looking around and seeing the friends youâd mentioned so often all in different fire trucks.
"Can you walk? We need to get you home. Wayneâs going to be worried." Your brother asked, and you shook your head, your entire body still in pain, even when you breathed.
Eddie just nodded, glancing around again. "Okay.. Iâll just carry you to the van, then." He shrugged, more to himself, about to pick you up when Steve spoke.
"Uh.. I can carry him, if you want." Your friend offered, and Eddie hesitated, but the way you were already leaning against Steve made him agree.
Your brother nodded to Steve, who shifted slightly to the side and picked you up, then stood up so that he wasnât sitting in the fire truck anymore.
Eddie led him to the van, and Steve set you down in one of the seats.
"Thank you, Steve.." You spoke softly, and he nodded, giving you a small smile as he closed the door. After he did, you leaned your head against the window as your brother drove off.
That night was the one where you were sure that you had a crush on the straightest man in the world.
From then, you avoided Steve, which was easier since he had graduated. Though, he dropped Robin off at school every day, and you had shifts together at Family Video.
About a week into school, Robin noticed how you avoided Steve. On a day where only you two were working, you two were sorting tapes when she spoke up.
"Why have you been avoiding Steve?" She asked bluntly, not casting you a glance as she continued to sort.
"..Uh, I havenât."
"You definitely have. Even heâs noticed, and you know how clueless he is." Your friend sighed, shaking her head.
"Okay, fine, maybe I have." You admitted. "Why? He didnât do something, did he? Did you do something? Whâ" You cut her off, "Robin."
"Sorry." She knew she was rambling, but you smiled at her, letting her know that it was fine. "Donât worry. Iâmâ avoiding him because, uh.. I think I like him." That made Robin stop her movements, fully turning to you.
"Likeâ you have a crush on him?"
"Yeah, but he wouldnât spare a glance my way. Maybe if I was a woman." You laughed dryly, and Robin shook her head.
"Y/N, one time him and Dustin were talking about having women âand moreâ and he quite literally said, âI like more.â I think youâre fine." She laughed at the memory, bringing a smile to your face as well.
"Even then.. weâre friends." You shrugged, and Robin sighed. "You should see how he looks at you. He carried you to Eddieâs van on the night of the mall fire, and let you lean on him." She rambled about every time that was âproofâ that he liked you, and you let her, though didnât quite believe her.
"Thanks, Rob.. but Iâm not going to say anything to him about it, just in case." You replied, and she nodded.
"Promise me that youâll stop avoiding him? Heâs been dying to hang out with you again."
"I promise." You agreed, and she seemed satisfied with that answer.
You didnât uphold that promise. You just couldnât bring yourself to see Steve. Heâd waved to you, tried to talk to you, but each time youâd either just hurry off before he could talk or come up with a lame excuse.
He didnât give up, though.
The night that Chrissy died, you were with Eddie. You watched the entire thing happen, too shocked to do anything.
Eddie grabbed your hand, and pulled you along with him as he bolted.
"Câmon, letâs fucking go." He muttered as he started the van and drove off, both of you shaken up.
"Where are we going..?" You asked quietly, your hands shaking.
"Where my dealerâs staying. Heâs in jail, so.. he wonât mind." Eddie replied, his grip on the steering wheel so tight that his knuckles were white.
You were unsure of the location, but you assumed it would be temporary. "Okay."
When you got there, there were empty and old beer bottles around the place, and Eddie grabbed two, breaking them both, making you flinch each time.
"Sorry, but here." He replied, handing you a sharp edge of the broken bottle. "For defense." He explained, and you nodded, grasping the dull side tightly.
You both were hiding under the tarp, grasping the bottle pieces tightly as you held your breath. You held back a wince as someone started to hit the tarp with something.
Dustin. You heard Dustinâs voice suddenly, and Steveâs name. Steve was here? You tensed even more at that, and shrunk further into yourself. Suddenly, Eddie jumped up, and did something that you couldnât tell, but something hit the wall.
You stayed hidden under the tarp, unable to bring yourself to see Steve, not even in these circumstances.
By listening, you gathered that Eddie had Steve pinned against the wall, and was holding the bottle shard against his neck.
You stayed still, and eventually you heard collective sighs of relief from the entire room as Eddie let Steve go. Max and Robin were here too.
Steve looked around, rubbing his neck, and he realized you werenât here.
"Whereâs Y/N?" He asked Eddie, both worried and confused.
Eddie hesitated, still staring at his hands, though he spoke up. "Y/N, itâs fine to come out." He spoke, his voice a gentle urge, which you couldnât deny.
You slowly got out of the boat, standing in front of it, your body trembling with both fear and adrenaline, your eyes darting around the place.
Steve couldnât help himself, he walked forward quickly and pulled you into a tight hug. You froze, not expecting the hug. After a few moments, Eddie narrowed his eyes at the two of you.
"Harrington, let go of my brother or I will put this shard to your throat again." He spoke coldly, and Steve let you go, giving you a nervous smile.
Robin was smirking to herself.
While you were walking through the Upside Down, Steve had caught up to you.
"Hey." He murmured.
"Hi." You stared at the ground, making sure to avoid vines, and eye contact with Steve.
He was slightly awkward, sighing quietly before he spoke. "So.. would now be an okay time to ask why youâve been avoiding me?"
"I havenât been avoiding you." You let out a slight huff, still staring at the ground.
"Right, so thatâs why you barely talk to me during our work shifts, you rush off whenever I walk towards you, or you lie about something you have to do whenever I ask you to hang out?" Steve spoke, and guilt ate away at you, knowing you hurt him.
You couldnât let him in, though. Heâd hate you after he found out. "Maybe I just donât want to be friends." You said harshly, and immediately regretted it, feeling even worse as his steps faltered. You were glad you werenât looking at his face.
"Fine." He said coldly before walking off, and you didnât watch him to see who he was walking with now.
Eddie walked up to you after a few minutes. "Whatâd you say to piss Harrington off?" He chuckled, but the noise died down as he realized how upset you were.
"Did he say something? Iâll get the bottle shard." He offered, and you shook your head.
"No.. Iâve been avoiding him." You said, which only confused your brother more.
"Why?"
You tensed up at that question, but it was sort of obvious that Eddie knew you liked men already. He was your brother, after all.
"I like him." You admitted, your voice significantly lower now, and Eddieâs eyes widened.
"Harrington? Really?" He sighed, and you playfully glared up at him.
"Yes, itâs Steve." You muttered.
Unbeknownst to you, Steve heard the entire thing. You liked him, really? You were sort of right.. he did like women. He liked men, too, though. He just didnât bring it up. He wasnât supposed to like men.
When you all got out of the Upside Down and went into Maxâs trailer, Steve didnât waste any time, grabbing your hand and pulling you into the bathroom, shutting the door behind you both.
"Steveâ what?" You were confused, pulling your hand away from his.
"I heard your conversation with Eddie." He said bluntly, getting straight to the point, looking into your eyes for the first time in what felt like forever.
You were shocked, sudden panic hitting you. He heard? He knew that you liked him? He probably hates you now.
You turned around, opening the bathroom door and quickly getting out.
"Noâ No, Y/N!" He called your name, sighing as he ran his hands over his face.
Everyone was confused as you ran out of the trailer, and Eddie got protective again. He shot a glare at Steve before following you out of the trailer.
You were sitting on one of the steps, your breathing choppy and tears blurring your vision. Eddie crouched in front of you, grabbing your hands.
"Y/N? Y/N, can you hear me?" He asked softly, and when you nodded, he continued speaking.
"I want you to listen to my words, alright? Breathe in." He instructed, smiling gently as you listened to him.
"Okay, now hold for 5 seconds. Then breathe out for another 5." He did that until you could breathe properly, though there were still tears running down your cheeks.
"Alright, good. Now, I want you to tell me five things that you can see."
"YâYou, um.. the stairs.. your hands, a sign, a-and the road.." You said, and your brother nodded.
"Five things you can hear?" He encouraged, still clasping your hands tightly.
"Uh.. your voice, theâ the wind, the door.." He let go of your hands at that, furrowing his eyebrows and looking up at the door, his expression hardening as he saw that it was Steve.
"Go back inside, Harrington." Eddie moved you slightly behind him, protective and angry.
Steve ignored Eddieâs remark. "Is he okay?"
"He will be, go inside." As you heard Steveâs voice, you looked over Eddieâs shoulder, and Steveâs heart broke as he saw your glossy eyes and the tears pooling in them, knowing he caused that.
"Just.. let me talk to him, Munson." Steve sighed, and Eddie shook his head, about to respond, when he felt your hand touch his shoulder. He looked back at you, and when you nodded, he hesitantly got up and went back inside.
"If I come back out, and heâs worse than before, I swear, Harrington, count your days." Eddie threatened before walking inside the trailer and shutting the door.
Steve didnât respond, turning to you and crouching in front of you, grabbing your hands. You tensed up, nervous, turning your head away as a tear slipped down your cheek.
He let go of one of your hands, tilting your face up gently and wiping your tears away.
"Hey, listen to me. Iâm not mad about what I heard, okay? I promise." He swore, and you were taken aback.
"Youâ Youâre not? You donât hate me?"
"I could never. Before you ran out of the bathroom, I was going to say that I like you too, Y/N." He confessed, and your eyes widened.
"You do? But youâ"
He cut you off. "No buts. I do like you, no matter what that head of yours says." Steve confirmed, kissing your forehead gently.
When you both went back inside and settled on the couch, Steve was beside you and Eddie was on your other side. You locked eyes with Robin, and she subtly pointed at you then Steve, and you nodded. She smirked before looking back at Nancy.
Eddie leaned closer to you, whispering in your ear.
"Do I need to get the shard for Harrington again?" He offered, in what you hoped was a playful tone.
"No, itâs okay." You whispered back, giving your brother a grateful smile, heat rushing to your face as you felt Steveâs hand slowly reach over to your thigh and take your hand into his.
