some of my favorite solas fanarts are when he’s drawn a lil skrunkly. like yes he is a pretty elf man but this is also what he looks like when he has to drink tea or talk to ppl he doesn’t like:
authors will always amaze me especially when they write stories and post a chapter at a time online and it's like you don't even know how the books gonna end yet but you went ahead and starting posting it anyway and then the story just comes to you or something????? like magic??? and i, the reader, just tune in to see where things go and it's like i'm reading someones brain. because there was a story in your head and you just wrote it down for other people to experience. and half the time for free!! you let me read your brain for free. and i love every second of it
I think one of the reasons the dwarfs are so interesting in Dragon Age is that they are the only race truly living in a post apocalyptic society.
Yes, blights have ravaged the surface of Thedas, but they have always managed to rebuild afterwards. The dwarfs have two cities left, and the rest of their cities, their homes are teaming with darkspawn, with the thing that killed hundreds of thousands of them. The surface gets breaks from the blight but the dwarfs never do. The surface gets to build and expand but the dwarfs have to fight for every inch of land they have and even then they rarely can clear it all. And yet they have to live with the knowledge that once upon a time they did have a nation that spanned Thedas, they had connections and roads and kingdoms which will never come back, which have been forever lost. That's so fucking interesting.
your honor, it was a crime of passion
one of the funniest lines in fiction is DA2's "Nice night for an evening.... isn't it"

You should only write in present tense with extreme caution.
not because it's bad or anything but because if you do it even once you're going to be editing the bits where you shifted tenses out of your writing for the rest of your life
