Non-native fishermen have destroyed and stolen thousands of dollars worth of fishing equipment owned by fishermen of Sipekne'katik First Nation. (You know I’d really like to know where are all the people crying over how vandalism in protest might as well be cold-blooded murder now.) This comes in addition to forming blockades and threatening to ram boats. Businesses across the province are denying services to Mi’kmaq in support of these terrorizing acts. Online, people are sharing horrible threats. It is blatant racist violence and discrimination, and the fishermen/media continues to call our people the lawbreakers.

“The gear that we were collecting was what was in violation of the law,“ Sproul said. "There’s nothing more to show that fishermen have the true, just, lawful position here than the fact that we conducted that activity yesterday and nobody stopped us.”

The fact that the RCMP have done jack shit to stop the non-native fishermen destroying Mi’kmaw lobster traps has painted a very clear picture. It’s the same picture that’s been hanging on the wall for centuries, and surprise surprise, flowery talk of #reconciliation doesn’t change that. And the quote above is a perfect example of how fully aware these fuckers are of their privilege.

Anyway someone should tell Sproul that a) the Mi’kmaq have the legal treaty right to hunt, fish and gather for a moderate livelihood, b) the traditional lobster season for our people is in September and October, and c) that the only people breaking the law here is his ignorant ass and his cronies.

So I’ve noticed that people always talk about Latino and Black people hate crimes. As well as focusing on how police brutality and the criminal Justice treats them differently from others but there’s next to nothing being taught about how systematic racism harms Native Americans. Like, I wrote and entire essay (tried to share on here but couldn’t) about police brutality directed at Natives but I never see the news or schools teaching about things like this. There’s also next to no classes about Native people but there are classes about Black and Latino people.

It’s weird.

What is or isn’t a slur can be highly contextual, y'all.

“Jonny Sims bummed a fag off my ma” doesn’t contain a slur, but “What are you, some kind of fag?” does.

“Queer studies”, “the queer community” and “I’m queer”? Not a slur. Some bigot calling you a “dirty queer”? Slur.

“Be gay, do crimes” and “He’s gay” ≠ slur, but “Ew, that’s so gay” = slur.

In conclusion, stop buying into this fucking “q slur” bullshit. Queer people talking about the queer community aren’t using it as a slur any more than a gay man calling himself gay is using that term as a slur.

After watching watching countless dateline episodes, scamumentaries, and having personal experiences on this-I see that men who can’t nor want to provide are the most depraved individuals you will encounter. If you make more money than a man, they will hate you no matter how much they pretend to like that you’re “independent”. Their ego literally cannot handle having a woman in a higher tax bracket. Not only will they seethe at this but they will also leech off you through your finances, love, and spirit. They will suck you dry and leave you miserable, broke, or worse… I don’t care how much you think you love them, it is not worth it in the end because a true man will WANT to provide for you no matter how much you have or make. As women it’s in our nature to be nurturing and for men it’s in their nature to provide. I’m not saying just date/marry for money but I’m saying survey their income before you take any serious steps with them. AFTER they prove to you that they are capable of taking of you then you can share your assets with them(maybe).
