Lackluster and lazy writing that holds itself back, has a really good basis for some cool lore that it doesn’t really utilize to the fullest, plot twist that rips away the agency of a character, decided to be bland, “safe” and cookie cutter instead of trying to tell a great message that could have landed if they just went through with it (the movie should have ended with ruby managing to get Chelsea to see vengeance will only hurt her even more, Chelsea processing her grief by letting ruby console her alongside her family, and grandmama realizing her error in her hate and bias and vowing to do right by Chelsea and the mermaids to start a more peaceful and mutually respectful era between their kinds).

My day today was ass. Going to class was almost pointless. AND on top of everything, i'm sick again because people in my class have no immune system and don't bother being careful for the sake of others.
