okay so like, i wasn't at tyria pride this year, i didn't personally witness anything that went down, plus i'm white and it's not really my call what people should or should not be comfortable with vis-a-vis depictions of policing institutions to start with.
but. there is one thing i've been seeing that's annoyed me quite a lot, and that's people going "it's just a game, why are you taking it so seriously?"
because every year that i HAVE gone to the march, i've seen players who aren't marching ask things like "why are you bringing politics into a video game?" and in THOSE cases, people at the march explain that things that affect them irl are relevant in online spaces as well.
if you can understand the connection between fiction and reality when it comes to lgbt+ topics, but NOT when it comes to topics of racism and/or the police, then that kind of seems like it says something about where your priorities lie.

im all for vaccinating chickens against salmonella BUT i want to note that poultry is not the only vector for salmonella to infect humans! even if chickens are required to get vaccinated against it, you still shouldn't eat raw batter/dough.
salmonella (and other foodborne illnesses) can get on produce too! including wheat! it can absolutely contaminate flour. wash your produce, and bake your flour!
Told all my life that raw chicken = salmonella poisoning like that's just natural but no, it's just because it's not something food companies are legally required to control at their end and America is only NOW considering classifying it as a "contaminant?!" Meaning it would become a violation of federal law to sell meat with any detectable presence of it?? We could have fucking done that all along???

speedrunners getting a kick out of the demon and devising a category where instead of going oob, they glitch the demon INTO the map and have to evade it for the whole run
Implementing strict out-of-bounds checking in my 3D platformer, but instead of actually forbidding the player from going out of bounds I just use it to create a demon that chases you around the OOB space, and if it catches you it engages you in a lengthy unskippable dialogue about the tabletop RPG it's writing, thereby killing your speedrun.
