My answer to every question: why not both? I argue semantics because specificity matters, and I tend to take things literally because my brain is spicy as heck. Also, I can't spell. My job is library. I'm moospen on AO3, if you like fanfic.

I Agree With This. Most Of Us Who Read FF Are Committed To And Engrossed In Our Fandom To A Level Not
I agree with this. Most of us who read FF are committed to and engrossed in our fandom to a level not met by the average viewer/fan/reader.
As an example ive just spent the better part of 4 hours tracing a series of events through a small segment of the BTS timeline. I'm talking a period of 3 weeks that happened over 5 years ago. I've put together notes about interactions and screenshots and links becuaseof course it all needs to be referencd otherwisewhats the point? If I'm going to search thought random footage to trace an exact line from A to B, I want to be able to ahow receipts because you never know who's goibg to queation you when you reference a particular incident in an airport in Thailand.
(Nobody, that's who. There's next to no chance anyone else in the fandom - or the world - cares one iota about this.)
I think one of the big strengths of fanfiction as a medium is that it can, on average, assume the reader has a way higher degree of familiarity with canon than like…canon can. If you’re in the Star Wars AO3 tag you probably like Star Wars enough to remember more things about it than the average Star Wars-enjoying-ten-year-old. Which makes it way easier for fanwriter a to get to the juicy stuff and really engage with the worldbuilding or minor characters without having to spell out like. Who Wedge Antilles is for everyone who forgot or never noticed him in the first place. You could write a book about Wedge in the old EU because EU readers could also be assumed to be serious fans, but you can’t make a new canon Disney+ show about him. Those cost money to make and are intended for a broader audience.
And all this means that like. A good fic writer can and often will surpass canon when it comes to like. Thematic resonance and stuff, because they can really dig into something. Star Trek 2009 gave Kirk a new, more generic tragic backstory because it couldn’t expect the average moviegoer to be familiar with Kirk’s old, way more interesting tragic backstory. (Frankly, I’m not sure jj abrams knew about TOS Kirk’s backstory) whereas I have read a LOT of well-written, interesting, deeply resonant fanfic examinations of Tarsus IV, and what it means for Kirk’s character that he’s a genocide survivor. Star Trek 2009 answers the question “why did Kirk cheat on the kobayashi maru?” With “‘cause his dad crashed a spaceship when he was a baby.” A close examination of TOS canon implies the answer is “because he lived through a real-life Kobayashi that did have a win option, but which wasn’t taken.” BUT—and this is significant—even the TOS canon movies can’t really assume knowledge of the full TOS tv show, so that implication is never examined or made explicit. Instead it’s fanfic (and maybe spin off novels? Idk I’ve only read 2 trek books, if there’s one out there that covers this that would be really cool) where we get dives into that thread, where Kirk gets a commendation for original thinking because he can look a testing board in the eye and say “I’ve seen what happens when someone is entrenched in this kind of thinking, and I cannot let it happen to me. I understand the lesson, but it’s not hypothetical anymore and it never will be. I did what I had to do.” And that’s interesting! That’s meaningful! That can’t happen in a summer blockbuster. But it can happen in fic, easily, and that’s a strength of fic, I think.

Jimin Of BTS Talks About His Solo Album In New Interview With W KoreaSahil PrasharJanuary 18, 2023Comments OffOn Jimin Of BTS Talks About His Solo Album In New Interview With W Korea1289
Jimin has been making lots of headlines recently, with the rumor of his solo release in February, the announcement of his association with Dior, and his collab single release with Taeyang of BigBang. Jimin also recently surprised fans with a solo magazine cover with W Korea which seemingly marked the beginning of his solo era. Jimin looked amazing in the pictures for the magazine, dressed in all Dior. Jimin is also confirmed to be attending the upcoming Dior show at Paris Fashion Week, which will also be his first fashion show appearance of his.
Jimin talked about a variety of topics in his interview with W Korea magazine.
Jimin was asked about his parents his’reaction when he first told them that he was going to become a Dior ambassador. He answered, “My parents always say with a happy expression, ‘I’m really proud of my son.”
Q – Did you find the answer to ‘what I want the most’, which will be the starting point for Jimin’s solo album?
ans – “I couldn’t find a grandiose and clear answer. I don't think there's a more appropriate expression other than 'I just want to do my current job better for a long time'. So I’m looking back one by one, reflecting on my past feelings and organizing them”
About PJM1: “I’ve been asking the producers, ‘what about this?’ ‘what about that’. I've been working on music. I definitely felt a lot of 'enjoyable' feelings ^^ The more I did it, the more I enjoyed it, so I thought that our members told me 'I wish I could work on music' so that I could feel these things ^^ Connecting it to creation and work was another matter. It wasn’t that easy or fun”
Q – You can imagine and draw your future for a while. What do you expect and hope for Jimin as time goes by?
ans- “I want to be a person who can afford it. If I want to be able to relax in things like music or the stage, I have to become a person who is good at it In order to be able to afford it, my heart must be as strong as that, and I need to create a more solid environment. I want to become a person who can keep my promise to be that way”

Min yoongi is the universal bias wrecker. He's an infinite loop of attraction. the mobius strip of biases.... even if he IS your bias, Min Yoongi can still wreck you.
