Me when i show up in episode 19 but i came back Wrong

Notes under the cut bcuz im normal

SO FIRST OF ALL. The descriptions of torbek as he breaks into twigs inn shocked me because it was such a contrast to the 18 straight episodes of pure nonsense so i tried to channel that here

When i heard abt his elongated limbs my first thought was "stereotypical analogue horror" and went with kind of a body horror uncanny valley vibe that they use to jumpscare you in the middle of those found footage videos

ALSO WOLVERINE CLAWS (cool as hell man)

Something else that stuck with me was the description of his irritated, red, swollen flesh around his drug tubes so i tried my very best there but it was a little difficult because i also attempted to paint in a monochrome color palette (minus the gold ignore that!!!!!)

All in all, he was a little freak and i got through two more episodes while painting this

Heres the original sketch as a treat for reading my little nonsense design notes (i painted over everything on one layer like a madman)

legends of avantris is one of those d&d channels you can't really fully enjoy as only audio, because you'd miss half of what's going on.

from derek's physical comedy, to the small little details like mace wearing suspenders when he's playing gideon or andy having a cigarette lazily hanging on his lip when he's playing pyke. the way mikey's gaze hardens when jericho switches to vergil. mace constantly leaning against richie when they're playing kremy and gideon. the way andy makes sure to always have a scowl on his face when he's playing marius. also him pulling a motherfucking banjo and actually singing tunes as booker. stuff like that makes the characters feel more alive and i love them sm for doing it <3

¡¡Minor Spoilers for Episode 9 of Icebound!!

So we all saw that One Scene™ the same way right( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)? I just know I CAN'T be the only one

Icy blue comic panels lay against a dark blue background. Taishen(Chinese wish dragon-inspired dragonborn) and Jornir(a shaman firbolg) are the characters featured.

Top Left: Jornir and Taishen are in a panel, struggling in an icy river. Jornir's face is buried against the back of Taishen's head, his eyes squeezed shut. Taishen is bracing against the cold, his face twisted in pain and fear as the word "Ack!" hovers above his head

Mid Right: A close up of their eyes in varying degrees of panic

Bottom: An icy blue waterfall expands across the entire bottom of the canvas, with ice chunks floating across it and falling over its edge. Stretching into the distance is the river below, the stream getting thinner with small trees dotting along the banks

Top Center: Primary focus on Taishen as he stares ahead at the waterfall in terror, the water rushing around his shoulders. Jornir is beside him, his face partially cut off by the panel and only showing the lower half in a nervous grimace. His arms remain wrapped around Taishen

Bottom Right: Jornir bends down to fully embrace Taishen, his eyes squeezed shut and his hands emitting their own teal magic as he tries to protect Taishen in return. Taishen has lifted his face up slightly as they huddle close together, tears still in his shut eyes. The magic they used flows around the canvas, with Taishen's golden scales floating in the top left, while Jornir's teal leaves flutter along the mid/top right

Full shot of Taishen and Jornir in a free fall against the same dark blue background, but now with hints of inky blackness. Only their lineart is in color, with Taishen in the same hues of gold and Jornir in teal just like their respective magic. They still hold onto each other, as luminescent icy tears fall upward from their obscured faces
