yknow what? hazbin hotel DOES feel very 2014. and i think that's wonderful. i love the edgy, complex designs, i love the heavy handed color scheme, i love that alastor is this shameless so-deliciously-bad showman, i LOVE the goofy gangster/ballerina/joker/steampunk/object head aesthetics!

it DOES feel like a teenager's passion project. it feels like something a kid loved so much they kept polishing and reworking it for more than a decade, never once succumbing to cringe, and so many people shared that love and joined in that it finally, finally came to fruition. what a joyous thing that is! how beautiful! how wonderful would the world be if more teenagers could do the same!
