I am naturally very strong, I bulk up quickly. But the last time I was sick I had to be inactive for a long period. That left me weak and slow.
Suddenly I can work out again, and as I said I am bulking up quickly. Already I can feel new muscle mass moving under my clothes, a feeling I had become unaccustomed to. Already people trying to keep up with me in the gym are falling behind. They fix the weights to match mine on their machines, and find themselves stopping after 20 reps as I progress to 60 on each.
It is not that I work out harder, it is just genetics, I know that. But it is so good to be the strongest one in the room again.

The Invisible Man starring David McCallum. A solid sci fi mystery adventure series that did not get anywhere near the attention it deserved.
1999 starring Edward Woodward. Simply the best dystopian future England expansion on 1984 ever. One too brief season.
Lexx seemed to rule for a few years. Everyone loved it. Now, no one is talking about it. So fresh and original, shows what can be done with a limited budget.
Dark Angel starring Jessica Alba. Was supposed to be the next big thing, just kind of drifted off.
Never been comfortable with the narrative that Killing Joke and Dark Knight are part of some woman in a fridge grouped cycle. Mainly because I remember reading both Killing Joke and Death in the Family at the same time. Jason Todd and Barbara Gordon are part of the Batman Family, the Joker was used to kill them off because, reasons...lots to speculate about there. Were Robin and Batgirl embarrassing reminders of the godawful 60s? Was it really just an experiment in shock value? No idea.
Re: Killing Joke, assuming that was a semi-serious question: Presumably for at least two reasons, one being creepy + 'it's aduuuuuult see comics r srs bsns.' The other reason is that if you remove the pointless fridge-trauma Barbara Gordon suffers, the rest of the comic is a psychodrama about Joker trying to actually communicate and reach out for help, while being Joker. The fridge bullshit is what most people think of, for good reason, but there is good Alan Moore writing as well. :/ Comics! :/
The Dark Knight TRIED to do a similar “this is how the Joker works” story without the grosser sexual aspects, but it still ended up fridging a lady. I’m starting to think the “better” Joker stories only work if we get to see HOW ZANY AND CRAZY AND OUT OF CONTROL THE JOKER IS but just so long as it’s targeted towards someone expendably female. The dudes are too important for something like THAT to happen to.
And, yeah, that bullshit is what I tend to think of.
At least the last time there was a major Joker story, it was Alfred who got to suffer the requisite body horror???? thank you scott snyder for making joker’s shock value targets more gender balanced i guess
