He has weekly/biweekly dinners with the gaang so they can catch up and hang out

He promotes the guard, Ming, who was nice to Iroh in prison. He makes her one of his personal guards for when he’s out and about. She’s a good 15 yrs older than him and remembers how sad and angry he used to be as a tween and is so happy for him for turning out just like his uncle. She is instantly ride-or-die for Zuko the second Zuko promotes her bc Iroh has already talked to her abt the good he’s done and she’s SO ready to protect the first nice Fire Lord in centuries/ever

Zuko sending scouts out to search for Azula because he worries about her every day and just wants to know if she’s at least alive

Zuko feeling super weird abt eating at a giant table with one or zero ppl with him so he just makes meals a part of his servants’ pay and tells the cook to make enough for everyone. He integrates some of his servants into the same mealtime as him and rotates it so he can chat with them daily. Every servant has a meal with the Fire lord once or twice a week and the entire time he asks about them and is generally sweet and this helps them feel more at ease with him.

Zuko insisting on days off, vacation days, and as much paid time off for parents as possible. Zuko sitting down with his workers and getting honest answers about what their true needs are as far as being an employer goes and making that happen

Zuko always saying please and thank yous to his servants and bowing to them as equals instead of making them bow exclusively to him

Zuko starting that thing some medieval rulers are seen doing where he has allotted time every day for any citizen to come in and ask for help, propose laws that would help the people, and generally honestly telling him how he could improve the Fire Nation. Zuko having someone take notes for him during all visiting hours so he can bring them up in meetings as leverage

Zuko having bright vibrant festivals and balls, some of them in the palace, and generally putting in more effort to make the Fire Nation a fun and lively place. Zuko showing up at every ball to greet his guests and being very involved with making sure everyone is comfortable and cool

All of these listed social things putting Zuko WAAAY out of his introvert comfort zone but after talking to Iroh about it he realizes it’s all essential so he puts in the time and effort even though he ends every day emotionally and physically exuausted but being at peace knowing it helped heal his nation a little more

Zuko turning into one of those introverts who masquerades as an extrovert by day and hits the blunt at night just so he can go to sleep but sleeping well knowing he did the best he could

Ok my fellow tumblrs! Remember Area 51 meme? And how people turned up for it? I say we bring it back for 2020! We got a few months before October ! Same day as September ! We storm Area 51! We have a little more info this time. I say we do the raid every year,sometimes switching the day or month! This year as I said we do it in October! Um, so this was just an a weird idea I had and it required me to make my first soulmate piece so, uh yeah. It probably sucks but here you go.

Virgil and Roman were rivals. It was as plain as anyone could see. They fought over everything from the messages in Disney films to the best way to romance someone. Most arguments never seemed to have a clear winner. It had been that way since the first day of freshman year when a Roman entered his new school. He had quickly made friends with soulmates Logan Sanders and Patton Brady and was chatting with them excitedly about Disney when a snarky voice cut in with, "You do realize, Princey, that there are some darker messages in those Disney movies you enjoy so much." Roman had stopped and turned around to face the emo disaster who dared interrupt him. 

It would be the first of many arguments between the two of them. And it would become a great source of entertainment for the rest of the school. A compilation of their arguments had been compiled on YouTube and gained quite a few views. Their arguments edged dangerously between the line of playful, flirtatious teasing, and heated verbal fights. It left everyone on the edge of their seats. And this time was no different. 

"How could you possibly think that the Newsies movie was better than the Broadway version?!!" Roman screeched at Virgil in the middle of the cafeteria. 

Virgil rolled his eyes. "Why does it matter so much to you, Princey? It's not like my opinion is going to affect anyone else's."

Roman's eye twitched. "Are you kidding me?!?! It's an outrage!" Roman fumed. "It's just-ugh!" Roman threw his hands in the air. "You're so frustrating!" 

Virgil snorted. "You're even more frustrating." Roman stomped his foot and pouted. "Aww is the little Prince throwing a fit?" He snickered. Virgil reached a hand out to pat Roman's head. "Aww it's okay," he cooed teasingly. Virgil would have continued to tease Roman if it weren't for the sudden pain in his eyes causing him to jerk back and cover his eyes with a wince. He heard Roman wince as well. When the two opened their eyes to look at each other, they quickly slammed them shut as a burst of brightness blinded them. 

Slowly, ever so slowly, the two carefully opened their eyes and began to adjust to their newfound view on the world. Roman let out a gasp as pigments he had only ever heard of had colored the world before them. It was like looking at the after photos of a coloring book. His eyes meet the crystal colored eyes of his high school rival, Virgil.

"And they were soulmates!" Remy heard a woman say as she walked past on her phone. 

Remy turned to his soulmate, Emile. "Oh my god, and they were soulmates."

So there’s a lot of “citizens of Ba Sing Se freak out when Lee the tea servant turns out to be the Firelord,” but consider the alternative. What if Zuko is just chilling at the Jasmine Dragon one day and sees an old regular and addresses them by their name but said regular does not remember him at all and is just like “wait what the fuck why does the Firelord know my name?”
