To Outlive The Devil

To Outlive the Devil

Pairing: Jay Halstead x Reader

Summary: A good save and a case practically solved leads to intelligence almost losing one of their own. Can you get out before it’s too late?

Notes: Canon violence, nothing worse than a typically dark episode. This is a past and present cut together story and it’s just shy of 4k.

To Outlive The Devil

Now

Your bleary eyes open up to a cold and damp bedroom. An abandoned… apartment? The peeling wallpaper had given way to yellow stained drywall. From the small window on your left, it appeared as if you were several stories in the air, but there were no distinguishable landmarks that told you if you were even still in Chicago.

As you begin to come to your senses more, you feel the thick rope tied around your wrists and ankles. The rough material burns against you skin and you notice you already have sores.

How long have I been here?

Your memory is fuzzy and your head throbbed violently. It isn’t until you shift uncomfortably that you realize it’s a heavy metal chair you’re tied to.

Slowly your body begins to pick up on the danger your muddled brain had managed to identify and your pulse begins to quicken. As much as you try, your heartbeat continues to pound in your head as you try to twist your arms free.

The pain that responds is only a small price to pay for even the chance of freedom. Desperately, you continue to twist and pull until one of the knots manages to loosen up enough for you to squeeze your hand out. It’s just a short sprint to the front door in front of you.

You will your frozen fingers to work faster as you pinch and tear at each knot and then internally scream at your stiff muscles to carry you forward just a little bit more.

When your hand reaches the doorknob and it isn’t locked, relief floods your system. But when you’re able to wrench the door open, the person behind the door barely registers in your mind before everything goes black once again.

Then

Jay leans against his fist on his desk and tries to keep his frustration at bay. They’d been at this for two days straight and had been on the case for the last three months. “That’s two bodies in as many weeks. Is no one else starting to think…”

“That maybe hunting Chicago’s very own Criminal Minds level serial killer couple is out of our depth?” You interrupt, tilting your head towards him. “Doubt it.”

Planes, Trains, and Firetrucks

Pairing: Kelly Severide x Reader

Summary: What’s a polar vortex to a desperate sister trying to get home? With a little determination and the luck of a stranger, you might just be able to pull off a Christmas miracle.

Notes: So I got drunk with my aunt and uncle on Thanksgiving and watched the only Thanksgiving movie to both exist and be quoted in it’s entirety by my whole family. I woke up with a google note that said ‘Planes, Trains, and Automobiles but make it a love story.’ Kinda wished I had payed more attention to the movie now.

Planes, Trains, And Firetrucks

Pinching the bridge of your nose, you try to reign in your frustration. You had been all over this airport for the last six hours desperately searching for any way to get home. So far, you had only been strung along.

“Is there anything to Chicago at all? I’m just trying to be back for even a portion of Christmas. Seriously, at this point I’d saddle up a horse.”

The woman scrunches her nose as she scrolls through her computer, a sense of defeat looming over you until she smiles quickly. “I found a 5am to Detroit that connects…” She trails off and begins to frown again. “Just canceled.”

“Seriously?!” The word explodes from your mouth unwarranted and much louder than intended and your hand flies to your mouth in embarrassment.

Before you can begin to apologize profusely, you hear the man behind you mumble under his breath. “Probably because of the giant winter storm and white out conditions covering the entire North East.”

You whip your head behind to glare at him, but he’s too focused on his phone to even notice that you had overhead him. Defeated, you turn back around and quietly apologize before grabbing your phone and sulking away, the guy behind you chuckling slightly.

Mom: Your sister just got here, she’s so excited to see you!

Barely managing to suppress your groan, you lean against a nearby pillar to type a response that hopefully won’t break anyone’s hearts.

The man pockets his phone and approaches the counter. “Hi, can I get a hotel voucher?”

“We’re prioritizing vouchers for flying families and couples first.” She smiles.

“Really?” He groans, loud enough to grab your attention and hears your chuckle from what he assumes you think is karmic justice. But when he locks eyes with you, he gets an idea. “That is so kind of you guys!” He exclaims with a smile. “My wife will love that.”

Till I’ll find you again

Pairing: Bucky Barnes x reader

Summery: You finally find Bucky again.

This is set during 1x03 of “The falcon and the winter soldier”. So it’s canon compliant until then, and also there’s spoilers for the third episode (kinda).

 Till Ill Find You Again

“It’s not the time guys”- Sharon said while rolling her eyes. People were shooting at them, they were out of ammos and Bucky and Sam were wasting time arguing. They needed to find a way out and soon

And then silence...

No one was shooting anymore, there was completely and utterly silence.

Bucky, Sam and Sharon slowly came out of their hiding spot, still on high alert: it was impossible that everyone decided to give up on them.

“Hey baby”- a voice said.

It was a voice Bucky hadn’t heard in years, a voice he hadn’t heard since Bucarest. A voice he thought he would have never heard again.

He had met you in Bucarest while trying to enter your house, he had been an asshole and, after showing him that no one messes with you, you had showed him your best side. A side that not everyone got to see.

“Who the hell are you”- said Sam bringing Buck back to the present.

She was sitting on a compartment, her legs crossed with a machine gun in her right arm, like she didn’t have a care in the world. She was still as breathtaking as the first time he had met her

“Y/n?!”- Bucky said unsure

“Who the hell is Y/n?”- Sam asked

Y/n jumped of the compartment laughing and jumping in Bucky’s arm, her legs around his waist. She didn’t waste another minute and kissed the man she had been looking for years.

Fuck Buck had missed her

“I missed you Doll”- Bucky couldn’t let her think for even a minute otherwise

“Can someone explain to me what the hell is going on and who is this chick?”

“This is Y/n my girlfriend”- Bucky said to Sam

“Your what now?”- Sam was even more confused than before but neither of them cared at the moment

“I came back looking for you I promised. But they told me you were dead”- Bucky told Y/n while caressing her cheek.

“I waited for you but after a while I made myself some enemies, you know how I am. So I had to stage my death before leaving Bucarest, I didn’t want trouble following me. Beside back then you had been dusted and I... fuck baby I didn’t think you would be back. I’ve been looking for you ever since everyone was brought back”- you explained

“Ok ok time out. I really need more context here Bucky”- Sam wasn’t having any of it.

“I’m afraid we don’t have time”- Zemo was suddenly behind your back.-“more company is coming. Let’s go”

“You owe me Sam”- Sharon said before leaving. You had completely forgotten about her, you looked at her while she left. But before you could ask Buck about her, you heard people coming, you hadn’t much time left and you knew what you had to do.

“Go, I’ll buy you guys some time”- you said without a second thoughts

“I’m not leaving without you again”- Bucky said and damn it if you didn’t love this man.

“Don’t worry baby, I’ll find you again and sooner this time”- you kissed him with all the love and passion you had suppressed all those years during which you thought he was dead.

“This is lovely but we don’t have time for this”- Zemo said while running to the car

You could see Bucky didn’t want to leave you but you winked at him trying to be reassuring. Before they could leave though, you went to Zemo and harshly grabbed his hair

“You fuck with him and you’ll find out that there is worse than the Winter Soldier”- you said-“you heard me?”

“Yes”-

“Yes what?”- you smirked pulling his hair harder with one hand and pressing your nails to his face with the other

“Yes ma’am”

“That’s better. Now go”- you closed the car door and let them leave -“IT WAS NICE MEETING YOU SAM, ILL SEE YOU SOON BOYS. I LOVE YOU BABY”- you screamed before starting to shoot

 Till Ill Find You Again

“She’s crazy”- Sam said to Bucky in the car

“Don’t talk about her like that. She’s majestic”- Bucky glared

“She’s going to die”- Zemo smirked

“No she’s not... once again she’s majestic”- Bucky was smiling, he knew he would see you again, no one could stop you

“How did you two meet again?”- Sam asked, one thing was sure if this girl could make Bucky smile like an idiot in love she was something for sure.

“She kicked my ass in Bucarest”- Buck shrugged -“and then she let me stay at her place for a while. It’s where you and Steve found me later”

“She kicked your ass?!”- Sam smirked and Zemo gulped scared of you a little bit now. “How come she wasn’t with you when Steve found you”

“I knew I was being followed, so we separated, I promised her I would come back for her after a couple of weeks once I had lost you, but then you know what happened after that. I thought looking for her before going to Wakanda but... anyway then I got dusted, so it didn’t matter. When they brought us back, I went looking for her finally, but rumors said she was dead”

“What is she?”- Zemo asked and Bucky glared

“She’s not a super soldier if it’s what you’re asking. Beside you touch her I kill you, I don’t care how useful you are”

“You’re perfect for each other, she threatened me too”

“I know”- Bucky smirked

 Till Ill Find You Again

“What the hell it’s happening?”- Sam was so confused: a chick, Bucky’s chick apparently, came from nowhere, saved their asses and now Bucky was smirking... it was stranger than aliens

Note: Reader is a mutant in my head, I decided not to go into the specific of it, because I don’t know if I want to write more of this in the future.

Anyway... this is my first Bucky fic 😱

English is not my first language so I’m sorry if there are any mistakes.

FEEDBACK IS ALWAYS WELCOME AND APPRECIATED ❤️

Worrying For Two

Your eyes widened as the door opened and your two boyfriends were almost carrying each other through the door. Bucky had a cut over his left eye and a limp on his right leg. Clint looked like he lost a fight with a rhino. He had a huge bruise over his right eye, a split lip, a limp and was crouched over as if his ribs were hurting him.

“Oh my God!” You jumped from the couch, heading straight for them, “I thought it was just training today not a mission?”

Viking Sy Au Part 3

syverson x you

Part 1, Part 2, Masterlist

Word Count: 4.4k

TW: Fluff, tiny bit of angst

So I wanted to end it in this Part but the scene I wanted in there took up the whole Chapter so I will have to extend it to another Chapter to fit the rest of the story in. (I could not write for the last few days bc I moved and then I had to clean everything. It usually takes me a good 6h to write and edit this. (English is not my mother tongue and I am dyslexic so writing can be hard sometimes.)

gif not mine!

Viking Sy Au Part 3

You were standing with your father when Syverson came over to you. He silently held out his arm for you. You looped your arm hesitantly with his. You did not know what it was about Syverson but he enthralled you in a way that was unfamiliar and almost invasive to you. He was silent as you climbed the stairs, seemingly in thoughts. At once he looked down at you, with an unreadable expression on his face. It frustrated you to no end that you could not figure out what he was thinking. Suddenly the doors of warhorse opened and a handful of people came out. Each carrying a tray of bread and what you guessed was mead. Syverson put his hand over the one in his arms. He stroked it softly before realizing you.

He stepped up to a woman with long grey hair. “Welcome Captain Syverson.” The woman said while handing him a piece of bread. He took it bowing. “Thank you Alfhild.” Before eating it. Then she handed him the mead. He turned around, raising the cup. People had gathered at the bottom of the stairs. The people cheered choruses of Welcome home Captain and Hail Syverson Captain of the north rung out. He drank the mead at once. Before he reached for the other cup on the tray. The other servants began to distribute the bread and mead to the surrounding people. Syverson held his hand out to you. Your heart started to race. You could feel the people's eyes on you. This was the moment they would see their future tribe leader for the first time. You had hoped to freshen up before you were presented. Your clothes were dirty from the journey and your joints ached. Mustering up a smile you took his hand. He led you up a couple of stairs so you stood directly in front of the doors overlooking the village. Syverson felt your hand tremble in his and gave it a tight squeeze, before handing you the mead. Another servant came over handing Syverson a new cup. Then he began to speak with a strong voice that rang throughout the village. “It is with great pride and honor that I greet our brothers and sisters from the south.” “Hail.” Came a chorus of voices and people took a sip from their cup. You quickly followed their lead. It was stronger than what you were used to but warm and soothing in the biting cold. “With even greater pride I stand beside Y/N Lady of the south.” All eyes were on you, it made your chest feel tight, the instinct to run was making your legs twitch. So you did the only thing you thought of. You turned to Syverson, who stood proud and strong, like a leader should. When his eyes met yours you felt a sense of calm, his eyes softened. As if had sensed that you needed his strength he grabbed your hand in his again. “It is my greatest honor to announce our engagement.” He took another sip. Watching you over the edge of his cup, he gave you a soft smile before turning to the people again. “We will be wed tomorrow. Solidifying the bond between our people. Strengthening us for all that is to come.” At that people began to cheer. While Syverson drank the rest of his mead as did you. It pooled warm in your stomach, giving you courage enough to smile.

“Y/N, this is Alfhild. The cook of this hall.” The elder woman looked you up and down, uncertainty behind her eyes but bowed. Out of the corner of your eyes you saw the affectionate smile Syverson gave the old woman. She must be important not only for the hall but also to Syverson. If you knew one thing then it was to never anger the woman who was in charge of the house. So you greeted her with a small smile on your lips and acknowledged her with a nod. “Alfhild, it is an honor to meet the lady of warhorse.” “The honor is all mine my lady.” Her voice was raspy as if she had shouted all day. “Now boy will you not bring her in? Look at her, she is practically frozen to death. Common boy or did you forget your manners?” She shot Syverson a hard look. And you had to suppress a giggle. Oh yes this woman was important. You thought there was no man or woman in all the lands that could scold a man like Syverson but as it turns out he looked a bit like a boy caught with his hand in the cookie jar. A light blush adored his face. “Alfhild.” His voice was annoyed but the woman only shot him another look before walking into the hall without another word. Turning to you he offered you his arm again. Nodding for the servants to take care of your father and his man. “Shall we?” Allowing yourself to enjoy the momentary embarrassment of the Captain you exclaimed: “Please Captain, I fear any longer out here and I will lose a toe.” He shot you an unamused look. You were no longer able to keep the smile of your face and let out a small laugh. It made him roll his eyes and mutter something under his breath you could not quite catch.

After Syverson had led you to your room and introduced you to the young woman Adelis. She was your maid from now on. She had promptly made you a bath and chattered away. You liked her. She was a sweet girl, and judging from her hands hard working. You were desperate to ask her questions about Warhorse, Alfhild and of course Syverson but you kept quiet. You were not sure yet if the girl was to be trusted with such questions. You were very well aware that whatever you did would find its way to Syverson but you wanted to make sure that if such information came to him it was out of the mouth of a friend. One wrongly phrased question and you could be in trouble. Sitting here now on the big bed you felt warm and rested, leaving room for your dark thoughts to come out such as the strong sense of isolation that spread through your body. From the ornaments carved into the woods to the fur that adorned the bed and floor, the roaring fire and the unfamiliar smell. Everything made you feel like an intruder. Not for the first time today did you long for your mother or Kali or Raga, any of the women in your village to be here and pour your heart out to them. Ask them questions, look to them for guidance. But here you were alone. No one to fall back to. Tears shot into your eyes at this realization that you truly and utterly were alone. And come two days no one that you knew would be here. No you could not cry.

Quickly you grabbed the fur cloak Syverson gave you and made your way out of your room. It felt like the walls were closing in. You desperately needed some air. You made your way down to the corridor. You were convinced this was the way to the front doors. But when you were faced with two more corridors, one to the right and one to the left you were not so sure after all. Hastily you turned right but instead of being greeted by the great hall and the front doors you found yourself in a small garden. It was already dark and the moon was the only light source. But you could not help explore. It smelled familiar to the herb garden behind the bathhouse.

You walked through the garden for a while. Clearing your thoughts. It had been a long day and now that you were outside it felt less like the world was ending. Sitting down on a bench your thoughts wandered to Syverson. He was an enigma to you. He seemed kind like your mother said but also so incredibly infuriating. Throwing you over his horse? What a Brut. But then you had to admit a rather handsome one. Sighing you looked up at the stars in hopes for some guidance. You were truly out of your depth. What was expected from you tomorrow? What will happen? Gripping the cloak tighter you tried to remember what the women had told you and what you had overheard over the years. Everything would have been much easier if you had already been with a man. At least then you would know.

There was an unexpected snap behind you. You sprung up turning around but you could not see. It was too dark. Instantly you were aware of your vulnerability. A place where you knew no one, in the dark and no sense of direction. Fear started to curse through your veins. “Hello?” you breathed out shakily, “Is someone there?” Just then another snap and a broad figure stood in front of you. “Captain Syverson.” To your confusion your heart rate did not slow. “I am sorry my lady. I did not mean to startle you.” You remained silent, watching him come closer. “I saw you leave the hall.” You knew it was a lie. You might have been in thought but you were well aware that you went undetected. Your maid must have told him that you were not in your room. You ignored the lie. “I was in need for a bit of fresh air.” You sat down on the bench again gesturing for him to sit. “I understand.” No you do not, you thought. You pushed down your tears. You both remained silent for a while when Syverson spoke again. “I hope everything is to your liking.” You nodded. “Yes, it- it is different from what I am used to.” “Different, how so?” Syverson turned to you. “It is colder. At home I would need furs only in winter not in fall. And the sea. I have never seen it before. I thought it would be smaller. Stupid is it not?” Smiling at you he shook his head. “No it is not. The sea is wild and big. If I had not grown up here I would hardly believe it myself.” Looking up from your hands you started at Syverson. As usual his eyes were on you, trying to take in every movement even in the spars moonlight. Seemingly he saw something in your eyes, he got up at once. “I did not mean to intrude. I will leave you to your thoughts.” He turned around his back stiff, the darkness had almost swallowed him whole when you exclaimed in a small voice. “I have never been kissed.” It made him halt. You did not know why you said it. It was true you had never kissed a man. You had never felt the desire to. But now you wished you had. The thought of receiving your first kiss from a practical stranger in front of so many people filled you with sadness. He turned around, watching your small form, as you sunk into yourself. Something tugged at his heart. Was that why you were out here? Were you worried he was going to hurt you? When Adelis had told him earlier that you were not in your room he had sprung up in panic. He did not know why but he needed to find you.

Slowly he walked back to you. He saw tears in your eyes. Silently he sat down next to you. He could practically hear your mind working. Taking a deep breath he asked a question he was not sure if he wanted answered. “Do you not wish to marry me?” Your head shot up, your eyes wide. “No, no that is not what I meant.” Taking your hand in his he pressed on. “Then what is it?” His hands were warm. It seems like he always was warm. “I just thought that when I received my first kiss it would be different.” You did not have to say more. He knew what you meant. Meeting a boy at a feast, sneaking out away from your fathers watchful eyes, kissing under the moonlight or maybe he would woo you for weeks before you let him kiss you. So many scenarios went through Syversons head. And every single one was impossible. Because he was not some random boy, he did not know you growing up, he had no time to woo you properly. He was your future husband assigned by your father, and to be married off to by tomorrow. He felt a heaviness in his chest. “I am sorry.” You looked up at him questioning. Promptly he got up. He walked to one of the bushes nearest to him plucking a balloon flower. He put it behind your ears, the blue looked beautiful on you. “If I had been a lad in your village I would have never let you go unkissed a day in your life.” You could hardly breath. The soft touch of his fingertips as he brushed your skin behind the ears sent shivers through your body. He truly was a handsome man, and you found if he had been a lad from your village you would not have minded if he had kissed you. And you would not mind if he did now. Slowly as if in a trance you leaned closer to him. He was leaning down taking your face into his hands. Your lips were about to touch when “Y/N are you out here.” The loud voice of your father rang through the garden. You shot up at once. Springing back from the Captain as if you had done something sinful. “I have to go.” You gave a small courtesy and ran off to find your father.

Syverson watched you go. Once you were out of sight he let out a groan. Of course the old man of yours had to come right at this moment. Git, he thought. His fingers still tingle from where he touched you. He wanted to sit here all night. Just thinking. You were an enigma to him. So soft but there was strength in you. One that maybe even you did not realize. But then he remembered. Your father had properly called you because it was time for your welcoming feast. Heaving a sigh he got up making his way into the great hall, after all as Captain of his tribe he could not not be there.

You made your way to your room. Your father had informed you that the welcoming feast would begin any moment. Your heart was still pounding. Would you have kissed if your father had not interrupted? At least you think you would have. It felt like what Raga described when she had her first kiss. There was this kind of magic in the air, she had said. You had not understood back then but you did now. It had been the thing you had longed for, it was what you meant when you said that it was not supposed to be like this. A first kiss in front of an audience could hardly have this kind of magic. Your hand touched your lips. Would you ever feel it again?

“My lady there you are.” Exclaimed Adelis. “Here let me help you. I thought it would be nice for you to wear the blue dress, the color of the sea.” You had not noticed Adelis, to occupied with your thoughts. “It is the Captains favorite color.” She added nonchalant. “Then I shall wear it. Thank you.” Adelis made quick work and in no time you were dressed and ready to attend the feast. The dress was long and flowing fitting tight around your chest before fanning out. Your sleeves were down to your elbows, a lighter shade of blue was attached to the end falling off your elbow almost down to the floor.

There was a knock on your door. “Daughter are you ready?” You opened your door, your father stood there waiting for you. “Shall we?” He offered you his arm walking with you to the great hall.

You could already hear people talking and laughing. Straightening up you entered the hall. As soon as you entered you could feel eyes on you. Some even stopped talking when you walked by too busy looking at you. You were not sure if they were approving looks or not. Focusing on your breathing you smiled at people as you made your way to the high table. You would be sitting next to your father tonight who would sit next to Syverson. Speaking of Syverson it did not seem like he was here yet. But some of your fathers riders were. They looked a bit apprehensive at the already rowdy crowd. One thing you had learned being here only for a couple of hours was the northern folk liked their mead.

You had just made it to the riders when promptly the talking stopped. And without looking you knew why. You could feel tingles on the back of your head, the same tingle you always felt when he was looking at you. You turned and there he was. Making his way through the hall. A white tunic was stretched across his broad chest, above a vest made out of leather. A sword was strapped to his waist and dark pants were tucked into boots. His beard seemed a bit more kempt. There was no denying that the Captain was handsome. You had almost forgotten how to breathe when he stood in front of you. “My lady.” He bowed. “Captain Syverson.” You fell into a courtesy. This was the extent of your talk for the rest of the feast. And you longed to be back in the garden with him.

Once the dinner was over people shoved the benches and tables aside making room to dance. Once again you were reminded how wrong you had been. The northerners were not cold nor rude. People came up to you to talk and greet you, some men even asked you to dance and every time you danced with one you could feel the tingle on the back of your head, telling you he was watching. After the 5th dance you were out of breath and in desperate need of refreshment. You went in search of the nearest honey mead when you felt someone directly behind you. You could feel the breath on your shoulder when he leaned down to whisper into your ear. “Meet me outside in five minutes. Do not be late.” Shivers ran down your body and when you turned around he was gone. Quickly you poured yourself a glass before downing it at once. You observed the room trying to find your father. The five minutes were almost up and you slowly made your way to the doors. Finally you spotted your father sitting with some of his riders and some elderly north man at a table drinking. He was fully engaged in conversation. So hastily you slipped out the door. Two guards stood there but you paid them no mind. Some men were outside too but they were too drunk to pay attention to you.

Suddenly an arm was around you pulling you into a dark corridor. You gasped and started to push against the hand. “Shhh, it’s me. It’s me.” Your body went slag when you recognized Syversons voice. He let go of you and immediately you turned to him. You hit him in the chest. “Syverson, you scared me.” He chuckled, pulling your hands on his chest again. “And I thought you would not come.” “I had to see if my father was watching. I doubt he would appreciate me sneaking out.” He tugged you closer to him. “So did he see you?” You shook your head smiling. “Good.” He raised his hand stroking a hairstrand out of your face. Your hands were still on his chest. “Are you enjoying yourself?” “Yes, although the mead here is far stronger than I am used to.” “Well then it is good that I intend to abduct you.” He grinned wolfish, wrapping an arm around you and spun you around. He took a peek around the corner. When he saw that the guards were distracted by some drunk men, he dragged you out of the dark corridor, sprinting down the stairs. If it was not for Syverson holding you up, practically carrying you with him, you would not have been able to keep up.

Maybe it was the alcohol but you started to giggle uncontrollably. Syverson could not hold his laughter even though he was trying to shush you. You had no clue where he was taking you and you would definitely not find your way back without him. Finally, out of breath you came to a pier. “Wow.” You had no word for this sight. The moonlight was reflected in the water. creating the impression that parts of it were shining. The sky was clear and lightened with stars. “It is beautiful.” You turned to him. “You like it?” You nodded smiling up at him. “Good. It was my favorite spot at night when I was a boy.” You held your breath wishing for him to go on. He looked at the sea watching it. “It was the most peaceful place. I used to wait for my dad to come back from his adventures sailing the world. Until one day he did not.” He did not know why he had brought you here. But he always came here when he needed silence. The pier was out of use for a long time. No ships could dock here so it was the perfect place to be undisturbed. “He died at the hands of raiders. Yet, I still came here. Waiting.” Shaking his head he looked at you. “Maybe I should not have brought you here.” You grabbed his hands, squeezing them tightly. “No you are right. It is peaceful. So much has happened in the last weeks. I feel like I had not one moment to breathe.” He nodded in understanding. A shiver ran through your body. You wished you had gone to your room to grab his cloak. “Are you cold?” he asked, pulling you closer to him. “A bit yes.” He drew his cloak open, he had been smarter than you grabbing one before leaving. You put your head on his chest. “You are always warm. How come you are always warm.” He let out a small chuckle. You could feel it rumbling through his chest. “And why are you always an ice block?” You pulled back a bit looking up at him pouting. “Well it is not my fault it is so bloody cold here.” He watched you with soft eyes, one hand reached out again caressing your cheek. “Good thing I promised to keep you warm.” Slowly he leaned down until he was only inch away from you. “Then warm me up.” This was all he needed. He pressed his lips against yours, pulling you into him as tightly as he could. His beard scratched your face leaving a tingly sensation on you. His lips tasted of mead. Making you moan. He pulled back, putting his forehead against yours. Syverson licked his lips, his eyes still closed. Your lips were so soft on his, making him long for more. You fit so perfectly against him. You were slightly out of breath leaning into him when he started to nuzzle his nose with yours. Raga was right, it was magic and you wanted more. You grabbed Syverson's neck pulling him down to you. Syverson complied immediately, growling at the feeling of your lips against his. He tenderly licked at your bottom lip. You were not sure what you should do but trusted your body and slowly opened your lips. You could not hold back a moan when he tangled his tongue with yours. His hands grasped your face pulling back. You bit your lips trying not to grin like an idiot. He watched you, admiring you. Your lips were swollen and your eyes were still closed, you practically glowed in the moonlight. He had never seen a woman more beautiful than in this moment. He peppered your faces with kisses savouring the moment. He did not want to get back but he felt how cold you were and he would not let his wife freeze to death. He held in a second, it was the first time he had referred to you as his wife. He found that he liked it.

He pulled off his cloak wrapping it fully around you. “Common it is time to go back.” You knew you had to but you desperately wished you could stay. As you made your way up to Warhorse again you felt how tired you were, leaning into Syverson for support. He put an arm over your shoulder rubbing your arm. “I can carry you if you want to.” Chuckling you said: “I have no doubt you can but it would be better if not. My father would not appreciate it.” You could not see but Syverson rolled his eyes when you mentioned your father. He was not too fond of the man and even though he wanted to tell you that he did not care, he did not want to pressure you. He had a lifetime ahead where he could carry you. There was no need to rush. So he settled on a kiss on the top of your head and a “As you wish my darlin’”.

You sighed in relief when you had finally climbed the last step. Right before the hall he pulled you into the same dark corridor as before. “You should go to bed now. Long day ahead tomorrow.” Humming you put your head on his chest. “Now common little star. If you fall asleep on me now I will have to carry you in, in front of everyone.” He threatened playfully. Syverson had no problem with it but he guessed you did. Pouting you pulled away. But before you could leave he took your hand in his. “I know it was not like you wanted it but I hope your first kiss was still good.” Smiling softly at him. You took his face in your hands leaning up to kiss him. “It was better than good. It was magic.” With that you turned around going inside. You slept peacefully dreaming of rough hands and honey mead lips.
