You're disgusting and horrible.

A lil Endeavor rant.

Endeavor is an asshole. He's abused his kids and wife and didn't care who got in his way, he hurt more that just family. He was dead set on being the number one hero for years.

What happened when he achieved that? He became self aware. Everything suddenly came into view. He did abuse his family, he did hurt people, and he did so wrong. That determination to become the number one hero? It's changed. He's determined to atone as best as he can for what he did.

I am not stanning him. I'm a fan of how complex he is as a character as I RP him on Twitter. As someone who has suffered through abuse, I'd love it if my abuser had that single minded determination to fix what he did. However, things like that don't just heal. This can't just be forgiven and forgotten. I certainly wouldn't forgive my abuser, and that's the thing; it doesn't matter what we think or what we want. It matters what the Todoroki family wants.

Endeavor deserves to be redeemed, but only if his family believe so as well. If his wife, the woman he abused, can accept he is trying to change for the better, why can't everyone?

OC: Revamp

This is a description of an OC RP account I have on twitter.

TW, MENTIONS OF ABUSE, SELF HARM, GORE, AND DEATH. I will tag it appropriately.

Name: Azuma Tagaki

Age: 18

Quirk: Revamp

Appearance: Azuma is 5'5" and weighs 170 lbs. She has jet black hair that reaches her mid back and blue eyes. She has an average figure, but from her waist down is a little more muscular as she utilizes her legs when she uses her quirk. She has quite a few scars, the most notable being one across her right cheek, one that starts at her left eyebrow and ends mid-forehead, and one that goes over the corner of the left side of her mouth. She has one more on her right wrist, a carving of the word 'monster'. Her usual outfit consists of shorts that end mid-thigh and a long sleeved plain black shirt. She doesn't wear shoes for a reason I'll say in the quirk description.

Quirk description: This quirk is almost identical to Overhaul's, with a few exceptions. This variation can be used so long as skin makes contact with the surface in question, with the trade off being it's far weaker and has a limit. When Azuma reaches this limit, she will cough up blood and get cramps. If she goes well beyond this limit, her quirk can backfire or not work at all, and she starts to slowly get injured.

Backstory: Azuma's life has been nothing but tragedy. Her parents started having marital troubles when she was 8, as when her quirk developed it was different from one of the spouse's quirks, which made them both question and bicker eachother. They both saw their daughter as illegitimate, and that lead to abuse. It started as verbal, but soon became physical as they got angrier with eachother. Azuma always pretended she was someone else during these frequent moments. Someone who would deal with all of this for her, someone who was strong and wouldn't take this from anyone. That manifested as an alternate personality. One night the absuse was particularly bad, and this alternate personality had enough. Using Azuma's quirk, it liquified her father and pierced her mother through the gut with a flat blade-like tentacle of wood. Azuma tried to stop her, but she couldn't. She fled that night, and Azuma gave the personality her last name...the last name she hated so much. Dispite all of this, Azuma hates violence. Whenever Azuma fights, she uses blunt force instead of piercing like Tagaki does. Unfortunately for Azuma, Tagaki is usually in control, meaning she has to watch endless horrors through her own eyes yet be powerless to stop it. She prays every night that one day, she can regain control permanently and end Tagaki's reign over her life.

Endeavor: A Tragic Hero

         “A tragic hero is someone who is virtuous, although flawed, who commits, knowingly, or unknowingly, an injury or great wrong that will ultimately lead to his or her misfortune” Aristotle. 

  In this moment Endeavor went from being regarded as sociopathic or at least a highly immoral character to a tragic hero. The Hero Academia audience went from scorning Endeavor to pity him. Some may have problems calling Endeavor virtuous or a Hero, and considering his past actions its valid criticism. However Endeavor was viewed as #2 Hero so he must have done great good to be in that spot. From what we’ve seen to the public he behaves like a typical hero. 

  Endeavor wants to be a Hero through his own merits. Its not clear why Endeavor wants to be #1 considering he is wealthy, famous, & powerful. Thus, its assumed he wants it for no other reason than pride. The fact that he couldn’t beat All Might was a blow to his pride, which caused him to corrupt his heroic principles. Endeavor refused to abandon his goal of being the #1 Hero even if it meant he had to create the next one. 

 Aristotle lists 4 factors in a tragic hero in which Endeavor has all: 

Hubris: Excessive Pride

Hamartia: A flaw or error in judgment 

Peripeteia: A reversal of fortune 

Anagnorisis: Recognition that the reversal was caused by the hero’s own actions 

 Hubris: Endeavor’s entire character omits excessive pride down to the design. The way he looks, postures, moves, speaks is all prideful. Endeavor is built like a greek statue. Endeavor keeping his quirk on is prideful. The Hero has fire all over in particular around his face. The fire acts as the Hero’s mask always on to make sure there is no Enji only Endeavor. The fact his quirk is fire fits his personality well. Fire attracts attention and it has a duality to it. Fire can be a sense of comfort or dangerous consuming everything in its path. Endeavor may bring comfort to society but to his family he is very damaging. The mere fact that Endeavor believes his offspring should be #1 shows excessive pride. 

Hamartia: Endeavors flaw in judgment is envy of All Might. Envy is born when pride is wounded. Once Endeavor realized he could never close the cosmic gap between them it was a direct hit to pride. Rather than accept this Endeavor chose to give into envy. Endeavor acted out a heinous plan by creating an offspring to accomplish his broken dream. Envy taunted Endeavor in doubts sprouting a wicked plan. Endeavor created multiple children abusing them in hopes of finding one strong enough. From Endeavors perspective he saw the abuse as a sacrifice for the greater good. Endeavor believed he was training a hero stronger than All Might who could protect society to a degree unimaginable. So, regardless of abuse to Endeavor its excusable since overall society would greatly benefit. 

Peripeteia: By Endeavor & his son being robbed of the #1 hero spot through merit was a reversal of fortune. Endeavor believes being the best means absolutely nothing unless it comes with a piece of mind that you actually are the best. By All Might having to retire Endeavor’s dreams felt worthless. By Endeavor coming to terms with this we are now seeing the atonement of his actions (192 BNHA). 

Anagnorisis: During the rescue mission Endeavor has a flashback and its the first time we see his humanity. Witnessing Endeavors dreams evaporate humanized him. Endeavor is shown stripped of the flames surrounding face showing the broken man underneath. Underneath his pride is a wounded heart with a broken dream. For Endeavors ambitions he was willing to pay any price, but once he got a taste of victory its not how he wanted it. The price he paid wasn’t worth it in the end.

Name: Katsumi Satou, hero name Flakker

Age: 16

Quirk: Flak Cannon

Appearance: Katsumi is 5'7". She has blonde shoulder length hair that she often puts into a ponytail when training. Her build is toned, but not ripped. Her casual outfits are tomboyish, and her hero outfit is a black bodysuit that end before the knees and elbows to allow her to use her quirk. Her outfit has a blue cannon with a gold outline on the front of this. She is currently working on another hero outfit.

Quirk description: her quirk is called Flak Cannon. This quirk manifests as cannons that jut out from her elbows and knees. They are similar to the cannon Guts has that juts from his wrist, and aims from the humerus. The leg cannons jut out from the femur.

Backstory: Katsumi was raised like anyone else. She had a relatively boring life until she learned how to use her quirk. She was praised for her strength, but never let it go to her head as much as others would. She worked her ass off and subsequently is admitted to the hero course. She's determined to become the hero everyone wants her to be.

Likes: Udon, sparring, blue flowers

Dislikes: Rudeness, dust

So I’ve talked a bit about these new MEKA designs with some friends, and I’ve been seeing people asking for a bit more depth to the analysis of their design features, and how MEKA would work as a team unit! So with my love of all things fictional engineering, I decided to take a crack at it.  Going from L > R I’m gonna talk about different noteworthy aspects of their designs, and how that’d reflect their roles in a cohesive unit.
