before & after

Okay, be safe and turn on your location so I can see where you’re at, just in case they’re not who they say they are.”
You chuckled at Ari’s worry, watching her as she placed a hand on her hip, squinting her eyes at you. You sighed.
“My location is already shared with you,” you reassured her with a small smile etched on your face. She nodded and pressed the button for you on the elevator. “I’ll be careful, I promise.”
“And if they try anything, call us and we’ll be there immediately,” Eunji sternly spoke, causing you to nod at their words. “And we mean it. We’re excited for you to eat lunch with them but it’s also important for you to be aware of any danger, okay?”
“Okay,” you etched on a serious frown on your face, pursing your lips to seem even more serious. They slapped your arms and you laughed. “Okay, okay, I know. I’ll keep you guys updated about anything, okay? Don’t worry.”
“You better.”
The elevator doors opened and you went in, waving enthusiastically at your friends who waved back with the same energy as you. You got out of the elevator at getting to Jimin’s floor, walking out towards his office while curtly waving at his assistant who looked not too happy to see you.
You walked into Jimin’s office, coming to see his figure already grabbing his blazer and putting it on. He turned to look at you as soon as he heard the door open, smiling at coming to see you.
“You made it just on time,” he smiled before gesturing you forward. You did so, sticking your arms out as his fingers immediately went around them, eyes sternly burning themselves intensely to see if you had gotten hurt. You thankfully hadn’t. Iseul was too quiet today. “How was your day, flower?”
“It was pretty quiet,” you answered just as softly as he touched you. “But it was great. Ari and I finished paperwork after paperwork and we just talked about how her mom packed me lunch again. Though, we got a bit worried because Iseul hadn’t bothered us at all today.”
“That’s good news, though, right?” He looked at you and you frowned, shaking your head. “You’re afraid that the silence might mean something?” You nodded and he frowned next, grabbing your chin that had your breath hitch in your throat. “Hey, listen, call me immediately if anything happens, okay? I don’t want you getting hurt, especially if she’s doing it under my nose. I’ll add in my phone number later on after dinner.”
You nodded, not trusting yourself to even speak. He chuckled a little at your obvious nervousness, letting his hand drop towards your hand. He grabbed it.
“Let’s go,” he spoke. “I’m sure the boys are already waiting for us.”
You two walked out of his office, and you quickly wrapped your hand around his arm, hiding behind his arm when you came to see his assistant staring at you. His hand tightened against your own, thumb rubbing against the back of your hand.
“Where are we going by the way?” You asked him as he pressed the floor to the main lobby.
“I actually do not have a clue,” Jimin answered. He passed you the phone he had been staring at, making you eye the messages he had been sent by Taehyung. “He said it’s a surprise. Though, judging by how he’s the one planning this, he’s going to take us to the restaurant he owns.”
“He owns a restaurant?” You gaped at him and Jimin nodded, putting his phone away to pay attention to you.
“He does,” he replied. “It’s right near here, almost 20-25 minutes away, I think. It’s the new restaurant, Stigma. Taehyung had learned about that word and became obsessed with it so, he named his restaurant that.”
You slightly laughed a little. “That’s cute.”
Jimin smiled down at you, your eyes already wandering around. You got distracted very easily, he noted.
When the doors opened, four men immediately headed towards you two, surrounding you both. You went the opposite way of the entrance, walking down the hallway that led to the parking lot. There was a car awaiting you two and the man in front opened it, making Jimin step back a little and helping you into the car.
He got in right after, his hand still clasped in yours. He never wanted to let go. You, on the other hand, were anxious. He was in a relationship. You shouldn’t be holding the hand of a taken man. You didn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable, much less his partners.
So, you leaned down and pretended to fix your shoe, allowing your hand to leave his grasp.
“Jungkook has already arrived at the restaurant,” Jimin said as soon as you leaned back, staring out the window. “They’re just waiting for us. Also, don’t be scared of the bodyguards. I’m sure you understand it’s for safety measures.”
You nodded. “Of course. I understand, don’t worry.” He patted your leg and you gulped a little. “Also, is it still okay to call Mr. Min, Mr. Kim, and Mr. Jeon by their last names? I feel rude to call them by their first.”
“Whatever makes you comfortable, flower.”
You relaxed against your seat at his words, ignoring the way your hand ached to be in his again. You wanted him to grab it, to rub his thumb on the back of your hand, to squeeze it and place it on top of his thigh. But, you knew that if you were his partner, you would not like it if he held the hand of another person that wasn’t you.
You two arrived to the restaurant and Jimin was right about the location. After all, Jungkook had confirmed his words, stating that they were eating at Stigma.
You both got out and headed inside the place, ignoring the way people glanced at you both. You hurried along Jimin’s long strides, feeling uncomfortable at the way women and men looked at you up and down.
Once you made it to the back of the restaurant, thankfully, where the others sat at, had much more privacy. Their table was farther away and no one could even glance at them. That made you feel a bit better.
“Y/n,” Taehyung, Yoongi, and Jungkook immediately said, greeting you before they turned to Jimin, each one kissing his cheek while he smiled brightly. “We were waiting for you two.”
“Figured you’d bring us here,” Jimin glanced at Taehyung, letting you slide to sit beside Jungkook. He sat next to you as soon as he saw you sat. “Boosts your ego a bit to see how many people are eating here, huh?”
Taehyung smiled. “You know it does.” He turned his attention towards you and the others turned to look at you, too. “Thank you for being here with us. Don’t worry about paying. It’s on me.”
“Aren’t you the boss of this restaurant?” Yoongi pointed out and Taehyung glanced at him before looking at you with a smile spread on his lips.
“Just don’t worry about paying.”
You smiled a little. “Okay.”
“How was work?” Yoongi asked you. They all turned to you, their attention not daring to waver away from you.
“It was good,” you responded, feeling nervous at the fact that their gazes wouldn’t move away from you. “Um, there wasn’t a lot of work to be done today and if there was, I would finish it. It was pretty relaxing.”
“That’s good to hear,” Jungkook hummed, looking down at you and you gulped at the way a strand of hair fell on his forehead. “You haven’t been having issues with your co-workers?”
“Not today,” you shook your head. “I haven’t gotten hurt ever since Jimin fired Minjun. Iseul and the others tend to… throw me words but, it’s—”
“Mr. Kim, I’m going to be your server for today…” the man who stepped forward to get your orders, stopped mid-sentence at coming to see that all of them were glaring at him. You minded your business, looking down at the menu in front of you. “Just wave at me when you’re ready.”
He quickly scurried away and you looked after his retreating figure with a confused expression. You frowned and Jimin patted your thigh.
“Continue, flower.”
“Oh,” you said before clearing your throat and continuing off, “um, I was just saying that I haven’t had anyone bothering me in any type of way.”
“I was telling her that as soon as someone, or Iseul to be specific, is bothering her, to text me,” Jimin explained. “I was thinking it would be nice for her to have our contact information just in case I’m not available.”
“Yeah, just give us your phone after dinner,” Yoongi nodded. Then others nodded in agreement and they finally waved the waiter over. The poor man was shaking as he lifted his notepad, making sure he wrote down what you wanted since the men surrounding you stared him down.
He left quickly after, bringing you and Jimin some drinks since you two came later.
“I’m surprised you invited me to dinner,” you started, looking at each of them, eyes meeting theirs. “I mean, I’m not someone of your status.”
Jungkook chuckled lowly beside you, his gaze on the cup he held in the hand adorned with tattoos. “We don’t really care about anyone’s status, Y/n.”
“We simply invited you,” Taehyung gestured to himself and Yoongi, “because we see how nice you treat our Jimin here.” You looked at Jimin as he smiled, looking down at his lap. “It’s very hard for us to make friends without people wanting money or more from us. We can’t speak to other women without them trying to get in our pants or flirt with us. It’s tiring.”
“So, you took me out to dinner because… I respect you as a human being, too?” You tilted your head curiously at them, small laughter and chuckles escaping their lips.
“Basically,” Taehyung nodded, agreeing to your words. “You see us as people and though we are your bosses, you still respect as people and not as objects waiting to be grabbed and basically harassed.”
“There was this worker once,” Yoongi began and you paid attention to him, “and she basically sat on my lap because I was “attractive” as she worded it. I couldn’t move her, not when cameras were on us and were encouraging her. It’s unusual to come across a girl or a guy without them wanting to take advantage of us, which they wouldn’t be able to do.”
“Well, I would never do that to you guys,” your brows were furrowed as you glanced at each one. “I mean, it’s just harassment what they do to you all like you don’t have feelings. I’m sorry you have to go through that.”
Jimin softly smiled beside you and the others looked at you before looking at him. He nodded and the table quieted down, watching you thank the waiter who brought the food.
Jungkook kept his gaze on your hand, rings adorning some fingers here and there. He eyed the vibrant pink bandaid over your white blouse, eyeing his own pink bandaid that was placed over the wound by his tattoos. He smiled to himself as he got to eating.
It wasn’t long before you all started speaking again. Well, it wasn’t long before they started speaking again. You were silently eating, admiring the scenery of the restaurant that had darker tones with not so bright lights. You liked the jazz music playing in the background and the way there were small murmurs. Though, the silence was long gone when a man and his friends came in, causing a ruckus.
Jimin and Jungkook both placed their hands on your thighs, the bodyguards for them immediately standing closer to you all for protection. Taehyung and Yoongi glared at the group of people, simply the men and women chose the wrong day to disrupt their dinner, especially when they had you there.
“Sir, they won’t leave,” a different nervous waiter hurried to tell Taehyung the news, staring at the group. “They claim they know the boss of this place.”
Taehyung eyed the people, not recognizing them. He turned to look at you all before his eyes set on your nervous figure, clearly anxious with the situation. Jimin and Jungkook gave him a look, feeling your shaky hands reaching to grab theirs under the table.
“I’ll be right back,” Taehyung spoke up, leaving his blazer behind. Yoongi followed after him, but Jungkook stopped him.
“I’ll go with him.”
Yoongi nodded and Jimin glanced at him, making sure his own gun was still by his waist, hidden away from you but closer to him for easy access.
“Flower,” Jimin sang your name, catching your attention as you looked at the group of people starting a fight with Taehyung’s restaurant security, “look at me.” You looked at him and he smiled reassuringly at you. “They’re gonna handle it, don’t worry, okay? We won’t let them hurt you or touch you in any way.”
“Just continue eating your food,” Yoongi called out, gesturing towards the food you left untouched. “They’ll be able to handle it.”
“Okay…”
You ate your food as they continued to talk. You hoped Taehyung and Jungkook were able to handle it. They seemed pretty pissed off when they headed over there but, you assumed the group of people will just be kicked out.
“Why am I being told you’re telling others you know me?” Taehyung appeared in front of the man who had been taken in the back of the restaurant, farther away from everyone. Farther away from you.
“It’s not that big of a deal,” the man shrugged, clearly not knowing who Taehyung was. Though, the man started to become nervous when he saw two friends of his being brought in, held by two men wearing all black. Jungkook came in and the man gulped at the tattoo sleeve, the earring on his lip, the serious expression on his face, and his fists painted with blood that belonged to his friends. The friends that stayed by his side while the others were told to leave.
“You came in on a bad day,” Taehyung stood in front of him, knife held between his fingers. “You see, my partners are here for the first time and there’s this girl. Well, you could only imagine the anger I felt once she started shaking out of fear when you and your friends came to bother.”
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” the man’s friend beside him immediately apologized, shaking like a leaf in the cold. “Please, it was his idea not ours.”
“And what was his idea?” Jungkook glared at him, his attention then wavering onto the other friend with the buzz cut who had spoken.
“He wanted to come here and steal from you, sir,” he explained and the man in front of Taehyung shook out of anger for his friends betrayal. “He was going to claim he knew you and then have us get rid of the guards.”
Taehyung’s head snapped towards the man, the knife inching towards his face. “Let them go. Pay them the money they need to shut them up.”
The guards nodded and took away the men, who let out a small sigh of relief. Though, they were to be shot and killed for money wouldn’t quiet them.
“What’s your name?” Jungkook mumbled loud enough for the man to hear.
“Daejung,” the man replied.
“Now, Daejung,” Taehyung sarcastically smiled at him and Daejung wondered how a good-looking man like him could be so sinister, “I’m going to kill you quickly. I have a dinner to get back to and you ruined it. I have the perfect men and a perfect girl waiting for me, for us, and you and your little friends ruined everything I had planned.”
“No, no, please, I didn’t know.”
“Of course you didn’t,” Taehyung snapped, his eyes holding such anger in them that Jungkook had placed a hand on his shoulder to calm him down. He did. “But you still need to face the consequences.”
Before the man could continuing spewing plea’s, Taehyung shot him in the head, humming with satisfaction at the body falling on the floor.
“Here,” Jungkook breathed out, passing him a couple of wet napkins in order to wipe away any remaining droplets of blood on his face. They both wiped anything that showed their actions and left the room with their guards getting rid of the body and the other ones.
“Are you okay?”
Taehyung smiled as soon as he heard your voice, watching as Jungkook sat next to you again.
“We’re okay,” Taehyung said, sitting down. “How was the food by the way?” Your eyes continued to wander around and Jungkook simply patted your thigh, making you look at him. He looked at Taehyung who chuckled. “I’m talking to you, y/n.”
“Well, it was hard to eat while I was worried about you two,” you awkwardly played with your food, not daring to look at the expressions on their faces. But Taehyung couldn’t wipe away the smile on his face while Jungkook had a ghost of a smile on his lips. “Do not start teasing.”
“We won’t, we won’t,” Taehyung and Jimin looked at one another before Taehyung laughed a little. “You were worried. That’s so cute.”
“This is the last dinner I’m going to attend with you.”
After dinner, Jimin had made sure you get home and now, your boss knows where you live.
The morning after, you woke up rather confused, not even knowing when you fell asleep. Of course, you woke up way before your alarm was supposed to ring which caused you to lay in bed, reminiscing about the events that happened yesterday.
You woke up and did what you needed, getting ready for work. You were grateful to just have time without rushing. As you looked at yourself in the mirror, you noticed your face, your body, the way your body looked in the clothes you were wearing, and you were so close to turning around, heading to your closet, and change out of them, when you received a message.
Jimin 😁: Morning flower, don’t forget to stop by as soon as you come to work. I’ll be waiting
You smiled at the message and texted him back immediately, letting him know you’ll be there like you have been doing for the past two weeks, which was hard to leave it has been.
As you walked into the building after some time, you headed towards the elevator and pressed on Jimin’s floor, eyeing the time to make sure you haven’t come early.
You made it to the floor and walked out, making sure to curtly wave at Jimin’s assistant who made sure to give you her normal glare that you always tried to ignore. You were simply being nice to her.
“Good morning, flower,” Jimin greeted you as soon as you opened the door, a smile lifted on his lips. You smiled back at him, closing the door behind you.
“Good morning, Jimin,” you said, lifting your arms. He took away the Barbie band-aid and hummed in satisfaction once he saw that the wound you had been given was slowly disappearing. The bruise had been gone yesterday before dinner and it was barely seen now.
“You’re good to go,” he said, dropping his hands from your arm. “Don’t forget that you have my phone number, I have yours. I will check up on you. The others have it, too, and will check up on you, too. They already saved their contacts on your phone.”
“Okay, thank you,” you slightly bowed. “But I’ll be going now, I need to speak to Ari and Eunji.”
“Ah, yes,” Jimin nodded, staring at his iPad before smirking, “tell them about how dinner went yesterday.”
“I-“ his smirk grew once he heard you. He heard you scoff. “We are not going to talk about that.”
“Mhm, sure.”
“Be quiet,” you shushed him before opening the door. “Have a good day, I’ll see you later.”
“Bye, flower. Have a good day.”
“Bye.”
You went into the elevator again, pressing on the button of the floor you worked on. You stepped out as soon as it stopped, your eyes looking for Ari and Eunji who were already waving you over. You hurried to them, holding onto your bag.
“How was it? Tell us everything!” They both rushed out, grabbing your arms and pulling you into Eunji’s office, closing the door behind them so you could all have some privacy. They sat you down and stood in front of you, waiting for some details, but you were still processing the fact the way they just threw you onto the chair. “What happened?”
“Not even a good morning or anything,” you shook your head, staring at them. They hurried you again. “Fine, fine. It went… great. I’m not even gonna lie… I might’ve developed a crush on all of them.” They both gasped. “I thought it might’ve been the fact that they were giving me attention, but they’re such nice guys. I felt so… protected when I was with them.”
“What happened during dinner?”
“Well, Jimin and I went to his car and we got driver at the restaurant Mr. Kim owns,” you started to explain to your overly enthusiastic friends, “the younger Kim. We got there and I saw Mr. Min, Mr. Jeon, and Mr. Kim already waiting for us so we sat. They asked me about my day, I spoke, a waiter came and interrupted me, they glared at him for no reason, waiter left, they told me to continue, I did, ordered food, a group of people came and started causing arguments and some even started to fight with security. It was scary. Thankfully, Jimin and Jungkook sat by me so they tried to comfort me by placing their hands on my thighs.”
“That’s so hot,” Ari commented, her eyes wide and mouth agape as she continued to hear you.
“And Jungkook and Mr. Kim left to deal with the guys and Jimin reassured me that they won’t let the men touch me or hurt me in any way, which totally gave me butterflies,” you continued, your own cheeks and face flushing at recounting what had happened. “Jungkook and Mr. Kim came back, and they started teasing me because I was worried about the two, and yeah… that’s what happened. Oh! And then Jimin dropped me off at my house but nothing happened.”
“Oh, my God,” Eunji blinked, processing what you had told her and Ari, who was wearing the same expression as her. “They totally have a thing for you.”
You snorted. “They think of me as a friend and I don’t mind. I so far like having them as friends.”
“You’re gonna end up with them,” Ari breathed out, clearly freaking out about her friend getting such hot guys. “I’m calling it. You’re gonna be with them and I’m gonna be the godmother of your children.”
“Calm down,” you chuckled at her words. “Now, is that all you wanted to know?”
“Sadly, we have to get back to work, but we’re continuing this conversation during lunch,” Eunji pointed a pointed finger at you threateningly, squinting her eyes. “You better tell us more.”
“That was all to say,” you defended, laughing at the way they still looked shocked. “Come on, let’s get back to work.”
Lunch came just around the corner and it came very quickly. It caught you off-guard when Ari told you it was time for lunch, confusing you when you had assumed only an hour had gone by. 4 hours had gone by.
“I’m still trying to process everything,” Ari mumbled under her breath, running her hands over her hair. “I honestly never saw the day when my amazing, beautiful friend was going to have dinner with the CEOs of the company. I wonder if you’re gonna go out with the others because there’s more, huh? I’m already excited.”
You chuckled at her words. “Ari, calm down, please. Let’s not get too ahead of ourselves.”
“She’s right, y/n,” Eunji nodded at her friend’s words. “You might have lunch with the others since you already met half of the group. We’re just very happy for you.”
“Well, I’m not,” you sighed as you came to hear the shrilly voice of the one who despised you so much. Iseul. “Why are you having Dinner with Jungkook, Jimin, Taehyung, and Yoongi? Stop being creepy and stop bothering them, y/n!”
You ignored her as best as you could, but she continued to argue.
“Don’t worry, Iseul,” another worker spoke, “even if Y/n tried getting with the bosses, they wouldn’t even dare look at her when you see her stomach hanging from her pants.”
You looked down at your stomach as you stood with Ari and Eunji, about to throw your trash away, and you couldn’t help but feel agitated at the way your stomach did no such thing. It wouldn’t even be a bad thing if it did but, your stomach was barely seen because of your loose shirt underneath the blazer you had worn.
“Just leave us alone, Iseul,” you sighed. “We weren’t even doing anything to you.”
“You are doing everything to me, y/n,” she grabbed your arm and you cursed at her in your head. Why do they always aim for your arm? But, you felt a bit grateful she didn’t go for your face. “You know, my mother saw you with them and now, she wants to get rid of you and I agree! A person of your status doesn’t deserve to hang out with them.”
“Leave her alone, Iseul,” Eunji snapped at her. “I’m your supervisor, I will let Mr. Park know of what you’re doing to another employee.”
“Please, he won’t care,” Iseul rolled her eyes and you ignored the tears welling in your eyes at feeling the burning pain crossing your arm. She had very sharp nails. She smirked and looked around, your arm still in her hold. “Everyone! Y/n is trying to sleep with the bosses in order to receive a raise. She was seen hanging out with them yesterday after-hours.”
“Get a life, Iseul,” Ari glared at her, trying to take your arm away from her tight hold but, Iseul wouldn’t let go. You winced at the pain of her nails ripping the skin apart on your arm, blood starting to form. “You’re hurting her.”
“She got Minjun fired,” Iseul continued. “She’s a snitch and she’s doing this all for attention. She’s a troll and she think she’s better than all of us, obviously.”
“Aren’t you the one who thinks so, Iseul?” You breathed out, withering in her grasp. “Aren’t you the one who believed they are above us because we don’t have enough money like you do? Stop coming up with lies.”
“You deserve every insult,” Iseul glared at you. “You deserve to be called fat, a whale, a pig, because you are. Your clothes don’t fit you, y/n. Men don’t look your way because you’re too horrendous to look at. Your looks aren’t anything here because they’re non-existent. You are as ugly as they come and you will be nothing. Leave the boys alone because they… will never accept a fat girl like you.”
She let go of your arm and you winced even more, holding onto your arm while blood pooled on the palm of your hand. Eunji and Ari came to your side.
“We need to take you to Mr. Park,” Eunji mumbled, taking you to her office so you three could be farther away from everyone.
“Can you text him on my phone, please?” You asked them, hearing and feeling them immediately grabbing your phone from your pocket. They texted Jimin and made sure to text the others if they were busy because your arm was bleeding… quite a lot, surprisingly. Iseul had really sharp nails. “I swear she files them to be sharp enough.”
“Jimin said to go to his office,” Ari announced and they grabbed you, leading you towards the elevator as if they were your bodyguards. They pressed on the floor to Jimin’s and you eyed the wound.
“Are her nails knives?” You grimaced. “She made me bleed a lot.”
“She hurt you badly, y/n,” Ari frowned, making sure not to hurt you.
The elevator dinged and Jimin was already out of his office, staring at you three as soon as you came out. His eyes slightly widened at your bleeding arm and grabbed you, leading the other two inside.
“What happened?” He asked, making you sit on his chair while he grabbed his kit.
“Iseul happened, Mr. Park,” Eunji bit her nails, watching your arm. “She got pretty mad that y/n was hanging out with you and started insulting her.”
“Press on your wound, flower, please,” he gave you some things to place over your wound and you nodded, watching the way he hurried. He grabbed his phone. “Tell guards to grab Iseul in my division. They already know who she is…” He paused. “Tell them they need to kick her out. She’s fired.”
“Are you sure that’s okay?” You asked him. “It’s just… a scratch.”
“A scratch?” Jimin scoffed at your words. “Flower, that’s more than a scratch. I’m a bit more worried you might need some stitches. The wound is pretty open.”
“And she did that with nails,” Ari clenched her teeth at eyeing your pain. “You should have them take pictures of your hands and nails. They could still have blood on them.”
“Don’t worry, I had cameras installed,” Jimin said, kneeling in front of you. He grabbed your arm. “I started to have them installed once we needed evidence in order to get her fired. Now we have it and I can fire her.”
“It’s scary that she could do this with just nails,” you breathed out, watching Jimin work on your wound. “It doesn’t even seem real. Just a few minutes ago we were eating lunch and she did this.”
“Jungkook and Taehyung are coming,” Jimin told you. “They got worried because of your text messages and they want to check on you.”
“Hey, tell Taehyung I might feel better if I went to his restaurant and I tried the food,” you joked. “It was the best food.”
Jimin chuckled at your words.
“Now, flower, you know Taehyung will do anything. Just as Jungkook and I are close to doing something to Iseul. We just need to keep Jungkook away from her because he will get mad.”
“No, I don’t want drama,” you shook your head. “I’m going to get shit on so much tomorrow once everyone realizes Iseul got fired. I’m actually scared.”
“I’ll give you a guard,” Jimin looked at you, still kneeling in front of you. He grabbed your hand and Eunji and Ari noticed it looked like a proposal, if it wasnt’t for your bloodied arm. “I’m being serious.”
“I know, I know,” you breathed out. “I just would feel weird to have a bodyguard next to me.”
“Look, we’ll talk about this later. In the meantime, I need you to rest. Jungkook and Taehyung will be here shortly.”

“What’s that in your hand?”
“H-Huh?”
“The flower,” Seokjin beckons at the rose he has in his hand, his tall figure and deadpanned eyes staring down at the man, it almost leaves him wanting to pee his pants right on the spot. “It’s not for the baker, now is it?”
Six more pairs of eyes stare directly down at him and yet he still has the audacity to say; “Yes, it’s..it’s for miss Y/N.”
“Ah.”
Suddenly the air in the little shop shifts and a sharp, cold breeze rushes through the room despite the fact that today should have been nothing but a pleasant breeze. Little ashes of smoke begin to appear from the thin air of the floors of the shop, sauntering around as customers sitting in their designated seats pick their feet up out of fear, their whispers of panic raising, and the man at the center of the demons’ wrath feels sharp ice crawling all over his body.
“It seems you want trouble,” Jungkook says as he takes a step forward, causing the man to step back, and so Jungkook keeps following along until he backs himself against the counter, trembling in sight while the rest of the people hold their breaths, too frightful to make a move in fear of being on the receiving end of the demons’ wrath.
“I-I don’t want trouble,” the poor man stutters.
Taehyung clicks his tongue in irritation while Jimin scoffs.
“Clearly you do,” Namjoon says. “You uttered her name. In the demon world, no one is allowed to utter someone’s name so carelessly. Only if they mean something to you and if the person has allowed you to utter their name.”
“I-I’m sorry sir, I-I didn’t know.”
“And giving roses,” Yoongi plucks the flower right out of his fingertips, “means an eternal love you are willing to spend the rest of your life with.” He burns the petty little thing right before the man’s eyes, all the while keeping his glare pointed right at him, causing the guy to visibly shallow a hard lump.
“Do you understand where you’re wrong?” Hoseok threatens, an arm propped up against Yoongi’s shoulder, hovering.
“I-I-” He looks like he’s about to piss his pants.
“Do you, understand?” So Hoseok reiterates, deeper, darker, graver. “Yes or no?”
“I..y-yes, yes—”
“What are you doing?”
A voice.
A sweet, sweet voice more precious and sweeter than the nectar the butterflies flock themselves onto, than any blood that can satisfy a vampire, than the sun that gives humans light and nutrients. A voice they love more than anything in this world.
Except the woman herself whom it belongs to.
They turn in an instant, ears perking up, head snapped, to find you standing before the door that leads to the backrooms, holding onto a tray of desserts they know you’ve made just for them, and their faces immediately soften.
The room brightens up, the shadows beginning to melt away into thin air in the same way they appeared, and Jimin is just about to rush up to you if it weren’t for your eyes suddenly shifting from them.
Your attention isn’t on them.
“You’re scaring the poor man!” You quickly say as you put your tray down onto the counter, rushing to untie the apron strings from behind, rushing in between them and the gentleman, an arm extending as you force Jungkook to back off. “Not just him but my customers!” You turn to address the guy. “Are you alright sir? I apologize for everything.”
He takes one glance behind you and instantly freezes up once more, quick to shake his head vehemently at the dark eyes staring straight into his soul — unbeknownst to you.
“I-I’m okay! I’m okay!” He blurts out before simply scurrying out the door before you can get another word in.
You stare at the scene, blinking at his sudden rush, before turning around to place your hands upon your hips, all the while the boys are quick to change up their expressions, acting as if they’ve been innocent all along.
“You just lost me a customer. Would you like to explain why you were interrogating the poor dude?” You start, brows furrowed, shoulders tense, chin slightly protruding and they know you’re trying to be all high and mighty but in their eyes, you just look like an upset bunny trying to fight seven wolves. “You really need to keep yourselves in check and stop summoning your shadows to show up out of nowhere, you know that scares people. How are my customers supposed to eat and drink and have a calm peaceful day if you just show up out of nowhere and deliberately make a scene?”
“M-miss Y/N, we’re fine but please—” An older woman tries to appease you, her approach timid as she holds her hands up, trying to calm you down in fear of the men in the room who’re the reason for your anger. “You don’t have to stand up for our sake.”
“We’re fine, you don’t have to do this.”
“I’d really love it if I didn’t have to witness our favorite baker in town—”
“What are you talking about, ma’am, they need a proper scolding,” you say otherwise, clearly unaware of the public’s concern for your life, being as you’re literally standing up against seven tall, masculine men who can literally bend the Earth and destroy this town with a flick of their wrist.
“Miss Y/N, please—”
“It’s alright, just go back to your coffee. I assure you I can handle this.”
“No please—”
You ignore their pleas to turn back around, that business smile fading the second you meet their eyes and they frown, hating the way you sounded kind to your customers and yet don’t bother to send them a smile.
“So then, what do you have to say for yourselves?”
“It’s not even that big of a—”
“Excuse me?” You cross your arms before your chest, looking up at them with a serious expression and they know they can’t not listen to whatever you say.
Only you can ever make them bend a knee.
“Sorry,” Jimin grumbles under his breath but you pretend you didn’t hear it.
“What was that?”
He sighs and steps forward, snaking an arm around your waist and pulling you in close, much to the audience’s dismay, and pepper kisses upon your cheeks. “You heard me darling, I said I was sorry.”
“Sorry. We’re sorry,” Jungkook joins in, a hand on your head as he presses a kiss to your temple.
You feel your heart lighting up, a smile waiting to creep up but you know not to give in just yet. “And to my customers?”
Namjoon crosses a hand over to his heart, giving the people a light bow. “We apologize for the inconvenience, dear customers of Y/N’s,” he says, and while they simply look back with mouths agape and widened pupils, frozen in their spots, he turns his head back your way, a cheeky little grin spread across his face as if asking for a compliment for doing the thing that you asked him to do.
You bite back a grin, seeing how obedient they are when it comes to you, but you know that if you let them see even the smallest bit of that, they'll disregard the people around them and simply coddle you to their heart’s content.
So you take Jimin’s hand and lead him into the backrooms, knowing the rest are quick to follow along, all the while leaving your customers blinking and rubbing their eyes, wondering if what they had just seen was right or if it had been simply a figment of their imaginations.
After all, everyone knows demons would never yield to a human that easily, much less care for them in the way they just treated you.
“Someone looks stressed.”
Once you’re finally left alone with your demons without any eyes kept on you, you let your guard down, smiling ruefully as you take a good look at the seven of them. Demons don’t live on sleep in the way humans need it, they get their energy elsewhere, but sometimes there are days you feel as if perhaps taking a nap will help them.
They look so tired.
“But that still doesn’t mean you can come around here and demand things out of my customers.”
Yoongi grunts, rolling his eyes at your words like a child hating to be scolded. “I get it, I get it,” he repeats exasperatedly when he walks over to place his head against your chest, letting you run your fingers through your hair to coddle him.
“But he was trying to give you roses,” Taehyung says as he clicks his tongue with irritation, that glare he has on is always enough to kill someone if he could, and for a good while you were scared of it yourself, but luckily you’ve gotten used to it. Taehyung would never hurt you after all.
And you know exactly what roses mean in the demon language. It was what they gave you when they confessed their undying love to you after all, a day you will never forget, a day they swept you off your feet and the very day you became forever theirs. You can never forget what those roses mean to them because to demons who’re almost incapable of feeling, much less love another, if a rose is given by them unto another, it is something one must never doubt.
“You do understand that roses aren’t as significant as they are to us humans, don’t you?” You remind them, a light chuckle leaving your lips when Taehyung drops his head onto your shoulder, asking for the same attention you’re giving to Yoongi. “I mean they mean a lot to me because they mean a lot to you but to humans in general, roses are just another sign of love.”
“Exactly, love. That’s a universal language and he was trying to steal you away from us.” You feel Hoseok’s arms slide around your waist from behind, lips pressing onto the nape of your neck.
“He didn’t know,” you try to excuse the action of the poor man who you didn’t even know was trying to confess to you just a few minutes prior.
But they’re having none of that.
“Who goes around professing their love to someone they don’t even know that well? Did he really believe a pretty girl like you would remain loveless by men all around her?”
You laugh awkwardly at Seokjin’s words. “What’re you trying to say by that?”
“He should know his place,” he says as he takes your chin from under his fingertips, bringing you forth to his face, “and that you, who is beloved by many, wouldn’t have already stolen the hearts of others around her. You attract after all, and just like those pretty little sweets you make every day before the town can even wake up, a simple glance at you can cause quite the addiction.”
“I..” You avert your eyes, cheeks heating because you know exactly what he’s trying to imply. “I don’t think I..”
“You don’t?” The eldest raises a brow as if daring you to further challenge his belief.
“W-well…” You stumble on your words before clearing your throat. “Sometimes too many sweets can be bad for you.”
“Well, luckily I have a sweet tooth.” A small little smirk curl along the corner of his lip, a low chuckle leaving him just as he leans in to capture your lips, leaving your heart to skip a thousand beats faster than its initial pounding.
He doesn’t kiss you for too long but even then, once he leaves you, you’re a blushing mess.
“Heart’s pounding rather fast,” Yoongi states, and you’re stumbling over your words once again.
“I..I-I wasn’t…”
“How long has it been? You’re still swooning over such a small thing?” Jungkook teases.
“It’s alright, I quite like it actually,” Seokjin says, his hand reaching up to tuck it behind your ear. “It’s quite refreshing seeing what we do still makes her react like this. You love us that much, huh darling?”
“If you’re here just to tease me, please just return to whatever it was you were doing before coming here.”
“Hey, don’t act like you don’t like it,” Namjoon pulls you back in when you try to run away to hide your embarrassment. They hold you in close, grips so steady you know there’s really no chance you’ll ever be able to escape.
Not that you want to.
And seeing those looks on their faces, you know they know that fact more than anyone else.
After all, these days can sometimes be rare; the days when they show up before you unexpectedly, most times without ever telling you beforehand. These days are the days you cherish the most, when you can be in their arms just like this, without ever feeling as if they would ever let you go.
Not until it’s time for them to leave. Not until they have to leave.
And it’s in those moments when they do have to leave do you feel the most lonely. When you have to stay behind, taking a moment to gather yourself, remember their holds and kisses, before returning to your baking with a customer smile on your face so no one knows just how lonely you are when your demons leave, knowing you can do nothing but wait until their next visit.
There are times when waiting takes days, weeks, and sometimes even a whole month and you’re always left wondering just where they are and where they’ve gone and what they’re doing.
But you know you’d never tell them just how lonely you really are when they’re gone.
After all, the times they visit are for the times of loving and holding one another. It isn’t a time to dwell on things that don’t matter, it isn’t a time to cry and wish and to hope. It’s a time to cherish what’s before you before they have to leave.
Only when they’re gone can you actually dwell on your loneliness.
“If something ever goes wrong or if you simply need us, you can call us anytime.”
You stare at the little bell shaped into a red rose one lonely night while standing under the stars in the middle of your garden.
It’s the garden of red roses they created for you, a garden that can never wilt no matter the seasons, time, or period. It dies only when the owner who received these flowers dies.
It will wilt only once you’ve wilted.
“Just how long will you continue to live, little ones?” You hold a hand out to feel the soft petals of the roses upon your fingertips, smiling at how pretty they are. Not even one petal is torn or hurt. They all look alive and well, alive and flourishing.
Jungkook says they reflect their owners’ age as you know that one day in the far future, these flowers will probably begin to look dainty and frail as well, and yet you don’t wish to ever see these flowers growing old with you.
Growing old means nearing death.
Growing old means wilting.
And then what will happen to the ones you’ll be leaving behind? The lifespan of a human does not last forever after all, and the more you think about it, the more you come to understand that they’ve got all the time in the world, hence they don’t ever look sad or griefed whenever they come to visit days or weeks or months later.
It is because to demons, the passing of time is simply but a second walking by.
Yet to you, every ticking second means a second closer to wilting away.
You let out a sigh, turning from the flowers to take a step forward towards your house when a harsh wind passes by, causing your shawl to fly off, and in an attempt to grab for it, you’ve forgotten about the bell you had in your hand, causing the little flower shape to fall from your hand and jingle as it hits the ground.
You gasp as you freeze in place because in just mere seconds, you know you aren’t alone anymore.
Seven presence right behind you.
Who would have thought it’d work this fast?
You quickly pick your bell up, eyes scanning forward at the shawl that flew off onto a rose bush, and rush forward to take it back because of how cold the night air has gotten.
“Well someone most certainly called us here on purpose, didn’t she?”
You turn back at Yoongi’s sarcastic comment once you’ve gotten your shawl to wrap it back onto yourself.
“Sorry! It was the wind,” you quickly say as you rush back to their side. “The bell was in my hand and when my shawl flew away, I forgot about it so when I went to reach for my shawl, the bell fell out and now here you are, summoned by the jingle.”
“So you’re not in immortal danger?”
At Seokjin’s question, you take a look around, wanting to laugh a bit at the situation. “Uh nope! Looks like I’m perfectly fine.”
“So you’ll only call us if you’re in immortal danger? How disappointing.” Jungkook lets out a heavy sigh, his lips pouting.
“What? You want me to call you if I miss you or something?”
“Yeah, why not?”
“Ha ha, very funny.” You place the bell securely into your pocket then tighten the shawl around your body. “Anyways, it’s pretty cold out here. You should get back to what you were doing. As you can see, I’m not hurt nor am I in any danger. In the meantime, I think it’s time for me to head to bed.”
You begin to walk off to your door again when Namjoon stops you.
“What were you doing out here?” He asks and you stop in your tracks, shrugging.
“Just thinking.”
“Thinking?”
“About immortality and stuff.”
“Immortality?” Jimin steps up to drape an arm around your shoulder in order to turn you back around to where they’re standing, at the same time helping you to keep warm against the night breeze. “What’s got you thinking about immortality, darling? Are you finally thinking about how to become one?”
“You know I like my human life.”
“Yeah, yeah,” he rolls his eyes. “Something about growing old is part of what makes human life so beautiful or whatever.”
“I don’t understand why death is beautiful to you,” Taehyung says.
“Well on the other hand, don’t you think immortality is somewhat of a curse?” You ask and they look upon themselves as if they’ve never given that idea a chance before.
“Why would it be a curse?”
“Well…” Your words trail off slowly and yet they wait for your explanation, eyes steady on you, ears open to whatever you have to say, and you play along with your fingers, nails digging into the skin a bit. “When I die…you’ll still have thousands of years left to live.” You avoid their eyes, staring down at the ground. “...Won’t you miss me?”
They grow silent.
Everything grows silent and you hear nothing but the little breeze that passes by ever so often, as well as the cicadas out in the night, singing their sweet songs, a melody mirroring the birds in the early morning.
“So you’re saying,” Hoseok begins, “that you’ll die before us.”
“It’s inevitable,” you say, looking up again. “Forty years may not mean a lot to you but forty years into the future means me getting old and gray and my health deteriorating. Humans are living and dying at the same time. I get closer to death with each passing day.”
“Don’t say that.”
“You know it’s true.” You watch as Jungkook turns to look at the flowers in the garden, his hand reaching out to touch one of them. “I’d never want to die and let you live through years of heartache. I’d never want to leave you behind in this world and no matter how happy we will be, death is something that is inevitable to come for me, you know that. Though I wouldn’t ever want you to follow along either. I don’t want to die together.”
“So you love your human life but you don’t want to die and leave us behind, but you also don’t want us to choose our own death in following you right behind, and you don’t wish to become an immortal.” Namjoon takes a step forward into your proximity, their expressions more grave than any other times you’ve ever seen them — except in those moments when you’re in immortal danger right before them. It frightens you a bit wondering what’s going on inside their heads, but what frightens you most is the inevitable future threatening to tear you apart.
“What is it that you want, Y/N?” Namjoon asks and you take a moment to think.
What is it that you want?
Why’re you thinking about immortality and death? Why was the wind listening to you when you were left to yourself in this garden? Why did it hear your silent plea in wishing to see them and therefore taking your fate into their hands and causing you to accidentally call for your demons?
Why does any of this even matter?
“I don’t know…” You look down at your feet, fingers unable to keep still, the vision before you blurring. “I-I don’t know,” you admit truthfully and when you look up again, their eyes widen at the sight of tears brimming along your waterline, waiting to fall down any second now. “I don’t want to live forever but I don’t…I don’t want to ever leave you behind and…and…I don’t know what I want. All I know is that…is that even though I enjoy this human life, I hate how different we are. I hate how different we think because to you, a day passing by means nothing. A week, a month, maybe even a year. A year without me is nothing to you. You can let time go by and it wouldn’t mean a thing because you get to live forever but to me…to me….I..”
You swallow the lump that wishes to cut your voice off, forcing the words out. “I hate waiting. I hate not knowing when it is you’ll be visiting again. I hate each day that passes, I hate it when you leave me, I hate being lonely and empty, I hate it when I have to wait. I hate it. I hate all of it.”
“Why didn’t you tell us?”
“I don’t know,” you cry, ignoring the tears that slip by when they close in on you. A few hiccups threaten to leave your voice behind but you continue talking through it all. “It’s just…I-I didn’t bring it up because I know you get busy and even if you aren’t so busy, I…I thought that, well, if the passing of time doesn’t affect you, why should it affect me?”
“You should have spoken up, my love.”
“You know if you asked for the world, we’d give it to you in a heartbeat, right? Why would you think we wouldn’t stop anything and everything if you just asked to be with us?”
“I don’t know,” you cry again, letting the last syllable drag out as more tears fall from your eyes and they’re quick to panic, realizing their reassuring words probably sounded more like them scolding you.
“It’s alright, it’s alright. You don’t have to cry anymore.”
“We know. We know now so it’ll be alright.”
“I’ll tell you what, become one of us.”
Your cry falls silent as only sniffles and small hiccups leave your lips when you hear those words. You blink up at Taehyung, slightly confused. “..What?”
“You heard him, become one of us.”
“I told you I don’t want to live forever.”
“You don’t have to live forever, darling.”
“I..I don’t?”
Yoongi shakes his head. “We can live together for as long as we want and when you get tired of life, when you get tired of immortality, just say the word and we’ll make it happen in a heartbeat.”
“...Really?”
“Of course.” Namjoon presses a kiss to your forehead just as you feel Taehyung’s hands wiping your tears away and Seokjin handing you a tissue he created from thin air. “Hoseok said, didn’t he? You could ask us for the world and we’d give it to you without question.”
“We’d burn the world if it means making you happy.”
“But what if I just want you and not the whole world?”
Soft smiles appear upon their faces, softening their features, whispering sincere affirmations of love.
“Oh darling, you already have us.”
“And you’ll have us even after death takes us all away.”
“But…I thought…” with the last remaining tears wiped away, you take a small little glance towards the rose bushes, eyes scattering off with confusion, “doesn’t immortality mean…forever? How would I..-How would we just…leave this world?”
“There is always an answer to everything,” you feel warmth seeping through the palm of Yoongi’s hand when he caresses your face, “and just like the stars that burn bright in the night, lasting for eons on end, they too have their beginning and ending and one day they will burn away as well.”
“Then, technically..you aren’t cursed with immortality?”
“Well technically, yes, but in theory, going against the ways of life means going against the laws of the world, which also means throwing things off balance, so it also means receiving death sentences for throwing off said balance.”
You take a moment to blink, trying to comprehend what Jungkook just said, before simply letting out an “Oh.”
They chuckle at your silence and you feel Jimin ruffle your hair. “Though of course we’d never let anyone touch you, not even the world. There are other ways to leave an immortal life but it’ll happen when we get there so don’t worry your little head off about how everything works.”
“You just have to trust us,” Seokjin agrees.
“You’ll trust us, won’t you?” Hoseok asks.
You take his hands in yours, eyes determined without a glint of hesitation. “I trust you with my life and until death do us part, it is yours to keep.”
Taehyung chuckles at the sentiment before repeating the vow you’ve just spoken. “Until death do us part.”

before & after

“What if we don’t get to her in time?”
Jimin was freaking out. Turns out that the tracker of the bracelet was left in an abandoned place that didn’t have you in it. He was freaking out the most while the others had your sister and basically had her and her husband zip-tied together. Your mom, father, and Iseul’s mom weren’t far from them.
Namjoon grabbed Iseul’s mom’s arm harshly, pushing her in front of him. “Where’s your daughter, Haneul?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” said woman shrugged as if the man in front of her wouldn’t kill her.
Namjoon took out his gun, pointing the barrel of it on the front of her forehead. “Where is your damn daughter, Haneul?” Silence. He let out a low chuckle. “You want to place this game, huh? Okay then.” He turned to look at Yoongi. “Call Mr. Kim. I’m sure he’d love to hear what his wife has been doing behind his back.”
Yoongi nodded and grabbed his phone, quickly dialing the number of the older man, who answered not even a second later.
“Mr. Min, nice to hear from you,” the man greeted, a chuckle escaping past his lips as he talked to someone on his end. “I’m hoping the shipment has gone well.”
“Mr. Kim, we have your wife right here with us,” Yoongi stoically said, not even greeting the man. “Your wife and step-daughter have our girl, kidnapped her. If your wife doesn’t give the location of where she is and where your daughter is, too we will stop all business with you, you will not have Bangtan’s protection, and we will turn every alliance with you against you.”
There was a beat of silence. The conversation in the backgrounds was silenced, almost as if Mr. Kim moved somewhere else.
“Pass me Haneul,” Yoongi passed Namjoon his phone, who later gave it to Haneul. She wasn’t happy about his actions and snatched it, hands slightly shaking once the object was tightly held in her hand. Her shaky ‘hello’ let the man know it was her. “What the hell is wrong with you? You do not get to take the girl of Bangtan. Don’t you realize they protect us, that they are the reason we have what we have!”
“I get it but—”
“No, Haneul, you do not get it,” Mr. Kim continued to rant as the others listened intently to the conversation. “They are my bosses! I work for them. I give them the shipments they need, they get it and they give me money. My alliance with them gave us protection and money. You doing what you did with your spoiled daughter is harming that and we will have nothing. Do you want to work, Haneul? Do you want to be killed?”
“No.”
“Good, then give them their girl at once,” Haneul passed the phone to Namjoon who hovered it by his lips.
“Hello?”
“I’m sorry, Namjoon,” Mr. Kim apologized profusely. “I really am. If they do not give you the location, I will step in and take literal actions. Let me know if they’re not cooperating and let me know if I can do anything once you find your girl. I am indebted to you.”
“Good. You better hope she’s alive and well for your sake, Kim.”
Namjoon hung up and passed Yoongi his phone, gaze still stuck on the older woman.
“Where is she?” Hobi asked next, glaring at her. Jin stood next to him, his eyes set ablaze as he felt the longer they spent trying to get information, the more time Iseul and her little boyfriend spent hurting you.
“She’s with some guards at Daeseong’s place,” Haneul breathed out, gulping at the glares she received. “I’ll give you the address but please, don’t kill my daughter.”
Namjoon didn’t give her an answer so, without hesitation, she gave the man the address of the place, hoping that her incompetent daughter will not be killed.
Jimin buttoned up his blazer nervously, walking towards the car with the others while some guards stayed behind to look over the people held hostage. They’ll let you talk with them first before letting them leave.
“I hope she’s okay,” Jungkook muttered, holding Jimin’s hand tightly against his. “We didn’t prepare her a lot for situations like these.”
“She’ll be fine, Kook.”
And fine you were.
“Your wife should be appreciative of you. You work so hard!”
“That’s what I have been thinking, too!”
You didn’t know how you ended up in this position, but so far every guard that worked for Iseul has been coming to you for advice. You ended up from being beaten a little, blood coming out from your nose, to now being apologized to and looked for so they could talk to you about their problems.
As of right now, one of the guards, Jake, was sitting in front of you, talking about his issues with his wife, who resembled your mother a lot.
“Since you’ve tried talking to her,” you started as you drank out of the juice box they had given you, “I might sound mean but, be straight up with her. Tell her that you’re going to leave her if she also doesn’t stop using drugs. You’ve been there for her every step of the way, but it’s just become overbearing for you.”
“You’re right,” Jake breathed out, nodding slowly as he let out a sigh. His agape mouth closed and he then smiled at you. “Thanks, Y/n. Sorry for beating you up by the way. I thought you were the bad guy.”
“Ah, Iseul just wants to kill me because I got her fired,” you shrugged as if it was nothing. “Bullied me and physically harmed me very bad.”
“Yeah, I’m only doing this because her dad is the big boss but now, I don’t think we’re even getting paid,” you snorted and nodded with his words before the other guards came in. “Guys, y/n is pretty cool.”
“I got the gift you told me to get,” another guard, Spit, who admitted that the nickname he had received was embarrassing and that he and his wife had been arguing about it, called out from the crowd. “She forgave me and we talked about it. You were right, though, flowers and an apology from the heart fixed it.”
“You all need to be mindful of your spouses,” you announced to those who came forward about simply problems based on their husband and wives. “Blade, your wife just wanted a simple dinner and you made her seem like she wanted so much more. You’re going to her or else I’ll tell my boyfriends to make you beg in front of her, okay?” You wouldn’t do that but it seemed to spook him. “Good. While others, do not let your spouse walk all over you. You deserve better, not someone screaming in your ear you’re nothing, hitting you, no more abuse. Walk away from that situation, but if you have kids, do not leave them with that person. Got it?”
A chorus of “yes ma’am”’s ran around the room and you snorted to yourself at the situation. The boys would think you were in danger but here you were, giving advice to those who were supposed to torture you.
“What the hell are you all doing?”
All of you turned to look at Iseul and Daeseong who came forward, disbelief spread over their faces at the fact that you weren’t being harmed at all.
“You need to leave me alone, Iseul,” you breathed out, letting out a sigh shortly after once she snapped her neck to look at you. “You having me here isn’t going to do anything to me. If anything, I’m safer here.”
“You guys are all being paid to do work,” Iseul snapped, glaring at each man in the room, even Daeseong. “Do not tempt in taking back that money.”
“Iseul,” you spoke, her gaze now on you, “your dad doesn’t have a single idea as to what you’re doing. You use his money so, how are you going to pay these guys?”
“What do you mean my dad doesn’t know?” Iseul scoffed, hiding her nervousness. You arched an eyebrow at her words, sipping your drink. She eyed it before taking it away, though, she couldn’t get to you as the men protected you by standing in front of you.
You peered over the man’s shoulder in front of you, coming to remember that he was called Bear. His friends had let you know that despite his 6’7 figure along with his cold exterior, he was so warm like a teddy bear. You weren’t surprised that he protected you. He had told you that you resembled his daughter who Iseul had threatened. You reassured him that your boyfriend’s had connections with her father and they weren’t going to let her get close to his daughter. That was all he needed to hear.
“Your dad doesn’t know, Iseul,” you continued, your drink in hand. “It’s just you and your mom. You already know how important Bangtan’s business is to your dad and he wouldn’t be with you in this if it meant it would harm his own business.”
“You don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“You got fired,” you frowned at her actions when she tried reaching for you. “You hurt me badly. You were a bully and it sucks, Iseul. You’re such a beautiful girl and you were just never given attention to until now.”
“Shut the fuck up, Y/n,” Iseul fumed at the words you spilled over her life. You sighed, knowing it wasn’t your business either to tell her about her life when you didn’t know her personally. “Listen, I’m going to kill you in front of them. I mean, I had been wanting them for so long and all of a sudden, all of a sudden, you come and they immediately take you into their relationship. You’re nothing and I have everything.”
“You’re saying that in front of Daeseong?” You gaped at her words, surprised that she admitted to wanting the men in your life in front of her boyfriend. Even Daeseong was surprised at her admission. “Look, I get you want them, or wanted them, but you’re harming everything your dad has built.”
“He’s not my dad,” Iseul spat out.
“He actually is.”
Everyone turned to look at who spoke and there they came to find 7 angry men, their eyes set on Iseul and Daeseong. You let out a sigh of relief at coming to notice their figures, running towards them. Jin was the first one to grab a hold of you, arms going around your waist to hold you tightly against his body.
“You’re okay,” he breathed out, a hand placing itself on the back of your head. “Did they hurt you?”
“They protected me against Iseul and Daeseong,” you murmured against the nape of his neck and he nodded, letting Jimin hug you next and hold you. He turned to look at the men.
“You protected her?” They all nodded.
“She was a great listener,” Jake said and the boys frowned at what he meant but, they knew you really must’ve impacted them since they were defending you.
“You’re all working for us,” Namjoon glanced at them. “You will be paid and get protection for your family. Because of your protection to her, you will now be Y/n’s guards.”
“Yay,” you let out, dragging the word out.
“And you,” Namjoon then turned to look at Iseul and Daeseong, “you two suck at kidnapping. No one was guarding the outside.”
“I told you to leave people out there,” Daeseong hissed, staring at Iseul who rolled her eyes at his words, waving him off.
“Your dad wants to speak to you,” Jungkook grinned, finding it amusing that Iseul is going to get in trouble by the man she deemed worthless since Mr. Kim wasn’t her father.
Yoongi passed her his phone. She ignored it so he went behind her, pushing Daeseong into Taehyung’s arms. He grabbed her wrists and zip-tied them.
“Hey! Let me go.”
“After you kidnapped her,” he looked at you before glancing at the side of Iseul’s face, “you’re coming with us. That’s going to be nice, huh? Now here.”
He placed his phone on speaker, hovering it by her face. You listened as her father answered, feeling Jungkook kissing your neck while Namjoon instructed the hired men to grab your parents, sister and her husband, and Iseul’s mom.
“What the hell were you thinking, Iseul?” Mr. Kim’s booming voice sounded out loud but you were focused on Jungkook’s kisses, along with Hobi and Jimin who stepped forward to also hold you and kiss you. “I had to find out from Namjoon about your dumb, stupid decisions.”
“They were not dumb.”
“They were dumb if you fucking got caught,” Mr. Kim continued to scold her and the other boys who weren’t kissing you, watched as she glared at the phone. “I want you to come home but, I already gave the boys permission to take you with them. While you’re with them, the cards that you have will be frozen. You have to make me trust you again and you’re not getting money until you do so.”
“But, Dad!” Iseul whined, stomping her feet. “I have outfits I need to buy.”
“You would’ve lived in the streets if their girl even got hurt or killed, Iseul,” Mr. Kim continued scolding her. “Like I told your mom, they’re my bosses. They give us what we have.”
“I don’t care, she deserved it.”
Mr. Kim sighed. “Yoongi, Namjoon, send her to me, please. I’ll punish her here. In the meantime, I found out from her bank statements that she was transporting money to someone named Nabi.”
“Oh, God,” Jin groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose. He breathed in. “You worked with Nabi?”
“She worked for me,” Iseul confessed, glaring at you. Jimin pushed you behind him, grabbing his gun. “I paid her to get to you, even told her how to get through security. She wanted in because she wanted more money so, I gave her what I could all while she was getting to you but no, Y/n was already weaving herself into you all. I had to try harder.”
“So it was your fault she got hurt?” Taehyung scoffed. He grabbed his gun, too, holding it closer to Daeseong’s back. “What do you know, little Daeseong?”
“I’m not telling you shit,” he mumbled, looking away. He heard the click of the gun and let out a shaky breath. “Nabi was my sister. Well, step-sister. I didn’t meet Iseul until Nabi introduced me to her. I didn’t want to be included in this until I found out my sister was killed by him,” he looked at Jimin, “and later my best friends were killed. They were the ones in the bar. I’m surprised, though, that you never noticed I lived next to you.”
He looked at you now and you let out a shaky breath, anxious at the fact that he could’ve killed you so easily.
“I was the neighbor that Jimin noticed staring at you,” Daeseong continued. “Nabi had been stalking them 7. I told her to let it go but, she went on. She found you as a threat, though, when Jimin had hired you, stared at your picture for days. She was there when he chose you. She knew. She found out where you lived so she made me move.”
“You always watered your plants,” you muttered, processing the information told to you. “I always told you to have a good morning because you looked miserable.”
“Yeah, because I was just staring at you and making sure what you were doing. I should’ve killed you since the first day. Such a fucking burden.”
You turned around and placed your face on Jungkook’s chest, his arms wrapping securely around your body.
Taehyung leaned in to whisper in his ear, pressing the barrel of the gun against his skin until he made sure it would bruise.
“You wanted to kill someone I love, huh?” He chuckled sarcastically, eyeing the way your hands slightly shook. His jaw tightened as the boys calmed you down. “I’m not going to spill what I’m going to do with you but, you will be conscious once you get killed by me.”
Daeseong gulped at his threats.
“We’ll take Iseul to you, Mr. Kim,” Namjoon spoke, gesturing towards the men holding your family to come in. “It’s time we bring our girl back to our place either way.”
“Apologize to her for me,” Mr. Kim sighed. “I will be sending a new shipment to you and new jewelry for her. I’m sure you’ll love to see her in it.”
“Thank you,” Namjoon hung up the phone for Yoongi before turning to look at your mom. “I’ve been wanting to kill you since I heard Y/n’s memories about you. But, I will ruin your life as much as you ruined hers.”
“Y/n, what the hell have you gotten yourself into?” Your mom immediately yelled at you. You sighed and rolled your eyes, ignoring her words as she tried coming at you.
You looked at Hobi and Jungkook. “Can we go?”
“Come on, beauty,” Hobi kissed your head. You turned to look at your sister and dad, who were being told they could leave, a frown forming. “Go. They could come with us if you want.”
“Can they really?” Hobi smiled as he came to see the sparkle in your eyes. He nodded and you walked towards the family you loved. Your mom quickly tried getting to you, but everyone raised their guns at her that prevented her from moving forward. You hugged your sister before hugging your dad next. “Come with me to talk about what happened, please? We need to catch up.”
“Yes, we do,” your sister chuckled, quieting down. “I got so scared once I didn’t see you and just saw bodies.”
“I’ll explain what happened. They’ll take you to their home but, Jimin told me before that newcomers get blindfolded so, expect to be blindfolded.”
They nodded and your sister’s husband stared at his brother, shaking his head, disappointment coursing through him. You looked between the two and your sister reassured you that she will talk to him.
You walked towards the rest of the boys waiting for you, Jimin immediately grabbing you back into his arms, too afraid to let go while those who hurt you were in the same room as you
In a flash, you made it back to the car, tiredness consuming your body at the state of events that happened. You could only relish in the calmness of your surroundings and the warmth that radiated from Jin and Jungkook’s bodies, Jimin was in front, your hand in his.
“Go to sleep, baby,” Jungkook softly said, his hand gripped your thigh while the other was around your neck. “I’ll be here to hold you.”
“Keep me safe, Kook.”
“I will. We will.”

before & after

So he calls you flower? I call that him being in love with you.”
You sighed at Ari’s words and shook your head. “Yeah, right.” You stuck the fork of food in your mouth, thinking about Jimin’s words. “Hey, did you know that he and the other bosses are dating?”
Ari and Eunji glanced at one another before turning to look at you with raised eyebrows. You gulped your food and mouthed a small ‘what?’, intimidated by their expressions.
“Y/n, it’s well known,” Ari answered, chuckling under her breath. “They are seen holding hands, together in every event, kissing, whatever. Their relationship is not so… hidden. It’s no secret.”
“I feel like I should keep up since all of you, except me, knew about that,” you breathed out, thanking the waiter for the quick refill they brought you. “I don’t know, it’s so… questionable why out of everyone, Mr. Park chose to talk to me.”
“You’re kind, y/n,” Eunji started. “You have a kind heart, it’s no surprise to me or to Ari. I think him forming a friendship with you and feeling so comfortable is nice. He and the others tend to… self-isolate themselves and aren’t as kind as they were to you.”
“I agree,” Ari nodded her head rapidly. “My cousin met them once and they just watched as she fell on her own. They literally walked past her. She was made fun of.”
“Poor her,” you winced at feeling the second-hand embarrassment, visualizing the situation. “Is she doing okay now?”
“Yeah, she’s fine now,” Ari replied, “after deleting all her social media. She was ridiculed.”
“There was a rumor, well, not exactly a rumor but,” Eunji immediately let out, remembering the situation that had happened. You and Ari stared at her as she continued, “supposedly, they got into a relationship with an older worker, but the worker left them for another person. She was fired from our division.”
“She was a worker in our division?” You gaped at your supervisor, shocked at the revelation. “I didn’t know that.”
“Me neither,” Ari said.
“It’s just within the supervisors,” Eunji explained, just as interested in the rumor as if she’s just hearing about it. “But, that’s why the bosses stopped interacting with us all and why supervisors are the only ones allowed to take up the documents.”
“How did that rumor even come to existence?”
“Well, Hana, the supervisor of the first division,” you three leaned in closer, “she noted that one of my workers was always seen in Mr. Jeon’s office. I got worried because I have never sent her up there but, I figured she had a complaint or just… something. I tried justifying her actions. I started noticing her slacking on work, getting to work late, and I told her she needed to stop getting her personal life get in the way of her work. Well, I got a complaint and I went to Mr. Kim, the eldest one, and he just told me not to get into their workers life.”
“What a jerk,” Ari scoffed, “and she’s such a bitch! You didn’t even do anything.”
“I thought so, too!” Eunji exclaimed, her head shaking side to side. “But, Mr. Kim thought I was getting into the employee’s lives. I was simply telling her to separate her personal and professional issues from one another because she wasn’t doing any work. At all.”
“It seems like this wasn’t even a rumor,” Ari frowned, processing the news just like you were. “What happened next?”
“I almost got fired but, Mr. Park came in and said they needed to talk so, I had to leave,” Eunji continued. “After that day, she was fired and in an hour, her desk was gone and no trace of her.”
“Do you think she had a thing with them?” You asked, your chin resting on your propped up arms.
“Definitely,” Eunji nodded, taking a sip of her beverage. “It wasn’t unusual and she and I were the only ones who knew what I had said. I never told any other worker what I told her or butt into their lives because they all did their work.”
“Was she there when we first joined?”
“No,” Eunji responded, “she was there a couple months prior to you two. As soon as I hired you, she was already gone.” She turned to look at you. “If anything is to happen between you and them all, don’t lose yourself like she did. I’m your friend, yes, but don’t start giving up on everything else because of your relationship.”
You chuckled at your friend’s words. “I will never, Eunji. But don’t worry, nothing will happen.”
“Mhm, sure, flower,” you playfully rolled your eyes at hearing Ari’s teasing tone. “I still find that name cute. But, hey, how were the other bosses?”
“Oh, God,” you breathed out, exhaling from your mouth. “They’re all so… ethereal. Literally.” Your friends laughed at you. “I’m not even kidding. I met all of them, Namjoon, Taehyung, Jungkook, Hoseok, Jimin, and Yoongi. I haven’t meet the other one.”
“Ah, Jin,” Eunji commented. “Yeah, he doesn’t show his face a lot. He’s the scariest out of all of them in my opinion. Probably has to do with him being the eldest.”
“Well, I met him and such but he wasn’t… entirely too happy to see me with Jimin,” you explained, recounting what had happened. “I didn’t exactly think much of it. I thought maybe he was just trying to be professional or something.”
“Yeah, or something,” Eunji gulped down the rest of the food before leaning back against her chai, thinking. “Does Mr. Park know about Iseul?”
“He wants to catch her in the act,” you answered. “I told him about Ari and we took pictures of her wound but, we didn’t catch her doing it.”
“And whoever saw is afraid of her so, no witnesses,” Ari shook her head out of annoyance, pinching the bridge of her nose. “I don’t believe in violence—”
“Yes you do.”
“—but, I want to punch her.”
“I think half of us want to do that,” Eunji agreed, letting a sigh escape her lips. “But, in the meantime, let’s hope that she doesn’t bother us as much. Her mom already called me saying she’ll have me fired, I can’t do much.”
“Her mom needs to mind her own business,” Ari huffed, clearly just as irritated as you at hearing the news. “At her old age and she’s staring drama because her daughter is rude.”
“Let’s just hope she gets caught.”
After dinner with your friends, you headed home, not too excited to go to work tomorrow. You also thought about getting a pet, it was getting lonely coming back to your apartment with no one eager to greet you.
But as you wandered to sleep after a long shower, you could only think about Jimin’s face and the way he would get close to you.
Heading to work, you immediately sat on your chair by your desk, avoiding Iseul as best as you could. You ignored the other group of men and women whispering amongst themselves, glancing at you while they laughed.
Now, you looked down at your clothes and judged yourself even more.
“Y/n,” Eunji headed towards. “Mr. Park called me. He said you didn’t go up like you usually do.”
“I’m going, I’m going.”
You did your usual routine going up and the elevators opened to reveal a young woman by Binna’s desk, saddening you that your new friend has now gone on maternity leave.
“Yes?” The woman asked you, looking you up and down and you wondered if the outfit you wore (a black blouse, with black high waisted trousers, heels, and a belt) was a bad decision.
“I’m here to see Mr. Park,” you told her, watching as she typed away on the computer before glancing at you and looking at the screen.
“I don’t see him having something planned right now,” she said. “I’m sorry but if there’s nothing that indicates Mr. Park has an appointment with you then I can’t see you let him.”
You nodded out of understanding. “Can’t you call him and ask him?” She made a very fake pity expression, her eyebrows furrowing as she shook her head.
“I’m sorry, but I’m sure he wouldn’t mind you making another appointment,” she smiled at you and you sighed, nodding. You can deal with not seeing him for a day.
“Okay then, just let him—”
“Y/n.”
You looked to the side and saw Jungkook coming out of Jimin’s office, putting on his blazer over the black button up he had on.
“Mr. Jeon,” you bowed to him and he did the same, his eyes raking themselves over your body figure and the way you looked so beautiful. “Uh, can you let Jimin know I’ll see him when he writes me down?”
“You don’t need an appointment,” Jungkook furrowed his eyebrows before glaring at the new worker. “Y/n is allowed to walk in.”
“Sorry, sir.”
“Um, thank you, though,” you thanked her as Jungkook turned around, the glare the new assistant had thrown at you only seen by you. You shook your head. People really didn’t like you.
“There you are.”
You looked up to see Jimin sighing in relief at the sight of you, thanking Jungkook who had opened the door for you.
“Sorry, I forgot that I needed to come here,” you softly defended yourself. “But, I’m here now.”
“Let your assistant know that she doesn’t need an appointment to see you,” Jungkook said with his usual deadpanned expression. “If I wouldn’t have come out, you wouldn’t have seen her in days.”
“I’ll let her know,” Jimin nodded before he watched Jungkook make way to the couch, even though he had been told by the man that he was to leave because of a meeting. He sighed and turned to look at you, his fingers finding their usual place to your arms.
He raised your sleeves, the cool feeling of his rings against your skin sending shivers down your arms, raising goosebumps. He chuckled at seeing the effect.
“Has Iseul been bothering you?” Jungkook spoke from his space, not glancing at you in any way. Jimin stared at you, clearly just as interested.
“Well, it’s only the beginning of the day,” you shrugged, flinching a little when Jimin peeled off the new bandaid you had put on. You had accidentally scabbed at the wound and it started to bleed when you had been brushing your teeth.
“Did you pick at it?” He asked, scoffing under his breath as he looked back at you. You puffed your cheeks and shook your head, clearly lying. “Flower, I don’t tolerate lying.”
“Flower?” Jungkook’s head perked up at the nickname. Jimin rolled his eyes. “Hmm, that name suits you.”
“I know, I came up with it,” Jimin said, not looking at the youngest and you looked back and forth between them, watching Jimin place a new bandaid on top of the wound.
“Not you, Jimin,” you looked at Jungkook as he stared at you before looking away, clearing his throat. You watched as he took off his blazer, raising up the sleeves of his button up and then did you realize you were matching with him. Well, with he and Jimin.
“Oh, by the way,” Jimin started, taking a step back to sit on the edge of his desk, “Yoongi and Taehyung invited you to have lunch with them.”
You looked down at your bandaid, believing that Jimin had been talking to Jungkook. But Jungkook calling out for you made you make eye-contact with Jimin, who had an eyebrow raised.
“With me?” You frowned, pointing to yourself. Jimin chuckled.
“They both want to get to know you,” he explained, a smile spreading on his lips. “They told me so yesterday.”
They, in fact, did tell him yesterday.
It was late at night, around 3:33 AM. Taehyung, Yoongi, and Jimin were in the metallic basement of theirs, two men sitting in front of them, beaten down.
“Hey,” Taehyung punched a man on the face, “do you think you can tell Y/n if it’s okay that she has lunch with me? I want to get to know her.”
“If she wants,” Jimin nodded. “I have to ask her but she’s very shy so, I might come with you.”
“I want to go, too,” Yoongi piped in after beating up the other man to a pulp, his face unrecognizable after he got punched and kicked repeatedly. “Free food and all.”
Jimin and Taehyung glanced at one another before Jimin squinted his eyes at the older man, nodding slowly. “Uhuh… whatever you say.”
So after that talk, Jimin knew that you would either say no or yes because you felt like you had to. He knew how nervous you get.
“Um, I don’t know them that well,” your brows furrowed together. “I feel nervous.”
“I’ll be there, don’t worry,” Jimin reassured you, his hand grabbing yours. Jungkook watched you. “If you don’t want to, you don’t have to. But expect Taehyung to bother you about it during work.”
“Uh, never mind, I’ll go if you’re there,” you smiled a bit awkwardly before turning to look at Jungkook. “Will you join as well?”
The way your eyes looked at him made his stomach flutter and his fingers itched to squish your cheeks. He blamed it on Jimin for always talking about you.
“If it’s tomorrow, I can’t,” Jungkook replied, staring at his watch. “I have a meeting soon and then tomorrow… I’m packed until the afternoon.”
“That sucks,” you mumbled, trying hard to look away from his tattooed arm. You did so after a while, ignoring Jimin’s smirk while Jungkook tried to hide the smile threatening to spread on his lips. “I’m sure the guys will save you food.”
“We’ll just change it to dinner,” Jimin spoke up. “It will be better for you,” he stared right at you, “to not worry about coming back from work late. Eunji will have my ass if I have one of her workers come back late.”
You thought back about what Eunji had mentioned yesterday. The woman that had been seeing them.
“If it’s for dinner, I’m down to go,” Jungkook shrugged. “I’m done by the time everyone leaves.”
“Then it’s set, tomorrow, when you come up here, we’ll leave from then. Is that okay?” Jimin now made sure his attention was on you, thinking that if he hadn’t, you would’ve believed the question wasn’t aimed at you. You nodded. “On the other hand, come back later. If Iseul is causing issues, have a witness and I’ll make sure that it’s enough to have her out, okay?”
“Okay,” you breathed out before looking at the time on the clock. “Crap, I’m late. It’s your fault.”
“I’m pretty much innocent here,” Jimin raised his hand and you softly glared at him, turning around to leave in a hurry. You hurried towards the elevator, immediately pressing on the button to your work floor, scolding yourself for taking too long.
Making it to the floor, you hurried towards Eunji.
“I am not to blame for my lateness,” you rushed out. She looked at you. “Blame Jimin. It’s his fault.”
She chuckled and nodded.
“I’ll call him and scold him.”

before & after

“What do you want, Nabi?”
Jungkook kept his composure as he stared at the woman in front of him smiling at him. He wanted to grab his gun from behind, shoot her so he won’t see her face ever again, but he had to keep you safe. He had to keep you away from Nabi’s eyesight and words because she will try to belittle you.
“Hey,” she tilted her head to the side as she looked you up and down and Jungkook stood in her way, making her stare at him with amusement, “I’m Nabi.”
“Do not talk to her,” Jungkook snapped and Nabi rolled her eyes, sitting down in front of you two. She glanced at Jungkook.
“Are you going to sit down or not?”
You watched as Jungkook’s hand reached behind him and saw the gun under the light of his office he was going to reach. You grabbed his free hand that was formed into a fist, making him stare back at you. His eyes softened at remembering he and the others promised not to display violence in front of you. He knew he had to keep everything in him in order for you to be safe. You had to be safe.
Nabi watched the interaction. She couldn’t help but feel annoyed at how he was protecting you, his hand finding its way to your thigh. She hurt them, wounded them, so why were they getting closer to you? Did she not leave much of an impact on them?
“I’m surprised you got access to get in,” Jungkook said, his tone calm as he gripped your thigh. You softly cleared your throat as you watched Nabi and the way she eyed you. “What are you doing here?”
“I just wanted to visit,” the woman answered, hiding her feelings behind her lies. She turned to look at you again. “What’s your name?”
“Do not speak to her,” Jungkook sternly said and you glanced between them, knowing it was best to stay quiet unless the boys told you it was fine. You didn’t know what type of person Nabi was, they knew her better. “I’m not kidding, Nabi.”
“I’m not going to do anything, Jungkook,” she rolled her eyes. “Relax.” She looked at you again and Jungkook scoffed. “What’s your name?”
You turned to look at Jungkook and he nodded. “My name’s Y/n.”
“Are you a worker here?” She asked and Jungkook glared at her, a deadpan expression on his face to showcase that he wasn’t kidding about how he was feeling about her talking to you. She smiled in a mocking way. “It’s very cute how they protect you. Are you sleeping with them?”
You noted the way she kept smiling, dragging out words that were clearly lies. She was such a beautiful girl and if she wasn’t such a bad person, you wished you had her as a friend. In the meantime, you could only show her that her words weren’t affecting you. You couldn’t show her that you were being affected by her words and will be affected if she speaks more.
“I’m not,” you smiled a little at her, placing a hand on top of Jungkook’s own so he could grip it instead of the skin of your thigh. But, he had his own thoughts as he continued gripping the flesh, hard enough for him to feel and soft enough for you to not be hurt. “I’m simply someone that got to know them.”
“Well, honey,” she got closer as if she were going to tell you a secret, “be careful. If you work for them and they find you attractive, they’ll sleep with you and try to fire you later when they’re done using you.”
Jungkook’s fingers shook as Nabi continued to speak, clearly trying her hardest to affect you and affect him.
“Jimin got closer to me first,” she went on. “He took me on friendly dates that then turned into dates, he called me pet names, protected me, and when he finally asked me out, they asked me out, too. It’s crazy, huh? To withhold such power knowing that your boyfriends, who are CEOs of the biggest company, can make anyone disappear in a flash if you ask.”
“Nabi, that’s enough,” Jungkook said, his lips then tightly pressing against one another to not let out any more words.
“I genuinely liked Jimin,” Nabi held eye-contact with you, glancing down at her freshly painted nails. “He was a good guy, a good boyfriend, but… they all started to ignore me, getting bored of me, and they will with you, too. They have one another and they have for years, they will realize soon into the relationship they don’t want you, they have enough. They’ll ignore you until you will leave.”
“Did that happen to you?” You asked and she snorted, shaking her head.
“They started ignoring me,” she answered. “I didn’t care. But, don’t let them fool you, Y/n. They’ve been in a relationship for years. They’re not gonna know how to handle a person they just met.” She eyed the way Jungkook grabbed you. “A word of advice, though, don’t let them touch you like that if you’re just their friend. That’s how they start.”
Jungkook’s hold loosened and you mentally sighed. You just fixed things with Jimin and now your overthinking was coming into play, and you knew that it will make you distance yourself.
“Get out,” Jungkook grumbled out, knowing that her words affected you. He stood up and headed towards his desk. “Get out before I call security.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Nabi waved him off and she looked at you one more time. “I’ll see you soon, Y/n. It will be nice knowing you in the future.”
“You’ll never see her again, Nabi,” Jungkook didn’t spare her a glance as he spoke, but he did arch an eyebrow once she turned her head to eye him. She rolled her eyes.
“Be careful with them,” Nabi spoke loudly as she walked away, “they have never dated anyone that has your body shape.”
The door closed behind her as she walked out and the only thing heard was yours and Jungkook’s breathing. He looked at you but your eyesight was on your fingers, fidgeting with them.
“Y/n,” he breathed out but you shook your head and smiled a little at him, hoping not to worry him too much.
“I’ll get going,” you said, standing up. He walked towards you. “I have dinner with Ari and her mom and I can’t miss that dinner. I’ve missed enough.”
“Don’t listen to her,” he mumbled, grabbing your hand. You smiled sadly at him.
“It’s hard not to, Jungkook,” you said under your breath, knowing he understood you by the look on his face. You dropped his hand and walked away, hearing him sigh.
The person who talked to you was Nabi. Nabi their ex-girlfriend. The one who hurt them. So, why were her words getting to you? Because you knew that no one would like you because of your weight? Because you knew that men in South Korea preferred those who fit the beauty standards? It’s hard when someone tells you that you can’t have what you want after your friends have told you the opposite.
“Flower, you okay?”
Too into your thoughts, you had waited until the elevator’s doors opened, waiting for your turn, that you hadn’t noticed Jimin in front of you. He stared at you with a look of concern, worried.
“Don’t worry about me,” you mumbled, keeping a smile on your face. His brows were furrowed, fully knowing your words were lies. “I have to cancel our plans. I just… I hope you understand.”
He couldn’t say much but, he watched as you kept your gaze on the floor, pressing the button to the floor you worked on, and then the doors closing right in front of his face. He turned to look at Jungkook’s assistant who looked anywhere but him.
“Who was here?” He sternly asked and the woman looked at the papers in front of her.
“A woman named Nabi.”
That’s all he needed to hear to know that something went wrong. He hurried towards Jungkook’s office, opening it, and heading inside. He closed the door behind him and saw that Jungkook was sitting by his desk, face burried in his palms.
“What happened?” Jimin questioned and Jungkook sighed loudly. “Your assistant just told me Nabi was here.”
“She was,” Jungkook said, leaning back on his chair, staring at the ceiling. “She told her all these horrible things. I couldn’t say anything. I couldn’t defend us.”
Jimin couldn’t say anything, either. But, he walked towards Jungkook and hugged him, knowing that was all he needed.
They stayed in the position they were in for 20 minutes or so, having headed towards the couch, before the door open, the others pouring in. Jin came in first, followed by Namjoon, followed by Taehyung, and followed by Yoongi and Hoseok. Jin was seething, especially by the way the tips of his ears glistened with red and the way his eyes looked everywhere for the certain figure of the woman who hurt them.
“Where’s Y/n?” Yoongi asked, remembering from Taehyung’s words that you had been taken away by Jungkook.
“She left,” Jimin said, eyeing the clock and knowing that you already left the building. “Jungkook said Nabi told her some things.”
“I told you we should’ve killed her as soon as we caught her in the act!” Jin exclaimed, running a hand over his hair before taking off his blazer. “She’s not going to let any of us, any of you, be happy with Y/n. This is a good example on why we should’ve killed her.”
“I agree with Jin,” Yoongi piped in, nodding his head along the man’s words. Hoseok hummed in agreement, too.
“I don’t have any feelings for her and she deserves it.”
“Yeah and it’s a shitty one,” Namjoon said, giving them glares. “We cannot kill her just because she did us wrong. That’s not the type of people we are.”
“She’s done worse, Namjoon,” Jin argued and he sighed. “You know what? Fine. But, this time, I’m going to talk to Y/n. You assholes need to think about this and how Nabi is going to ruin anything you all want with her.”
He walked away and everyone stared after him, silence consuming them once they realized what his words. Namjoon sighed.
“Nabi didn’t just hurt us,” he started, glancing at each one of their faces. “She stole from other people. Single mother’s, homeless people, whichever. We’ve been focusing way too much on how she’s wronged us, we didn’t realize that her actions have impacted others very harshly.”
“I’ll call who we know that if they see her to bring her to us,” Yoongi spoke, grabbing his phone before leaving the room. The others then turned to look at Namjoon again as he was going to start orders.
“In the meantime,” he said, staring at Jungkook, “what did she tell y/n?”
“She started off by saying that since she’s someone who works for us and if we find her attractive,” everyone listened to Jungkook’s words very closely, “we’ll sleep with her and try to fire her later when we’re “done using her”. She just went on a rant about how she needs to be careful letting us touch her if we’re just going to keep her a friend and even said she’ll see her in the future.”
“I want to kill her,” those words escaped from Jimin’s lips, a serious expression on his face as his chest heaved up and down to calm himself.
“This is where y/n changed,” Jungkook went on. He took a deep breath. “Nabi told her that she needs to be careful because we’ve never never dated anyone that has her body shape.”
The silence was deafening. If anyone listened too closely, they would hear a pin dropping. If anything, they could hear the emotions bubbling in each one of them, especially Jimin.
Jimin was seriously going to kill Nabi. He was going to kill her if no one stopped him right then and there and held him back. He was going to kill her. He really was.
Taehyung immediately went to grab him from behind, noticing his change of features and attitude. “You need to hold yourself, Jimin.”
“She can’t be far,” Jimin scoffed, referring to Nabi. “I need my gun.”
While the boys calmed Jimin down, Jin was on his way to your house. It took a bit of convincing from Yoongi (he made him tell him “please” and then he would get the address) but Jin successfully got it. It wasn’t that far from your house.
When he came to see the house with the right numbers, he eyed the amount of plants littered on the front. There were even some cats eating some food obviously left out for them. He walked right up the stairs, fixing the sleeves of his shirt before knocking on the wooden door.
“What are you doing here?” He turned his head to the side and saw you there, holding some plants in your hand. Your professional clothes were long gone and you were wearing some shorts and a shirt that Jungkook had left behind. His guards immediately their guns at you and you glanced at them, groaning under your breath. “I’m the owner of this house.”
Jin watched you, nodding his head at the ones taking care of his back. But, he remembered you had talked to him. “I just wanted to come by and see you.” You frowned out of confusion and nodded your head slowly.
“Well, now you saw me and you can leave,” you walked off and he stared at you with a mouth agape. He quickly followed after you. “Who even gave you my address? I specified that I didn’t want you to know.”
“Don’t worry about that,” he waved you off but he grabbed your wrist, stopping you from moving forward. “We need to talk.” You have him a deadpan look and he continued. “Jungkook mentioned that Nabi talked to you.”
“Ah, yes,” you breathed out and you continued to do your thing. You got on your knees and looked up at him. “If you expect me to answer to you, you can help me.”
He thought about it and he went with it once he knew he couldn’t catch your attention. So he too got on his knees, his pants and hands getting dirty. He helped you plant some things you needed, glancing at you once in a while once he saw you were obviously thinking about something.
“Nabi… is not a great person,” Jin started and when you looked at him, he dodged your eyes once he felt your stare. “It was true what I told you at the restaurant by the way. How it ended, I do feel sorry about that.” Now it was your turn to ignore his gaze. “You shouldn’t feel hurt by her words or whatever she told you. That’s her goal, that’s what she intends to do.”
“What hurt the most is that…” You debated whether you should be honest with him. “I’m not the standard. I’m not. I don’t normally feel insecure, but it’s just bullying after bullying as if my body shape isn’t normal to have.” He watched as you stopped what you were doing, taking a seat. “Nabi is beautiful, she is. She’s insanely beautiful and I understand why the guys fell for her, I would even fall for her.”
He chuckled lowly and nodded his head slowly. “Good to know.”
“It’s just hard,” you admitted, letting out a sigh. “Sometimes it’s hard to live here when even my own mother criticizes my own body or I can’t go somewhere by myself or a guy tries to grab my ass. I’m either sexualized or hated on. It’s hard.”
“And Nabi didn’t help?”
“I fell for Jimin,” you admitted, chuckling sarcastically as you found the situation ironic. “For everyone. Well, except you… You’ve done nothing but hurt my feelings.”
He looked at the way your cheeks heated up and he placed a hand on your arm. “You’ve done nothing but been nice to me and I apologize for hurting you when you only wanted to get to know me.” You watched as he leaned against his hands. “It’s hard taking care of 6 boys whose hearts have been broken by a girl who had just come into our relationship. It’s scary to know how easily they can get hurt by other people brought into our relationship, and it’s up to me to take care of us because I can handle heartbreak.”
“You were protecting them from me?” You asked and he hummed.
“I didn’t know your intentions, and I know it’s not a right excuse,” he snorted and continued, “but they become attached very easily. Their hearts are kind and it’s funny since, you know… what we do for work.” You chuckled at his words. “But, I needed to be there to keep them in check, to let them know that they’ve been hurt and they shouldn’t make the same mistake as before work Nabi.”
“We could’ve talked,” you whispered to him and he nodded.
“I know,” he mumbled. “But it’s hard for me to express my own emotions since I’m always so focused on the others emotions. I don’t really care for mine.”
You eyed his sensitivity and the way he couldn’t make eye contact with you. He was fidgeting with his fingers, nervous and anxious.
“It’s going to be a long road of me forgiving you,” you admitted and he nodded, “but I’m willing to start a new friendship with you.”
His head snapped towards you and a small smile tainted his lips. He took out a dirty hand and you did, too, shaking his.
“Now,” he started, looking around, “why are you planting when the sun is setting?”
You snickered. “When I get stressed or I’m just angry, I just plant. Plants are very much alive but, at least, they don’t have mouths to piss me off even more or to make me more anxious.”
“Are you the type of person to compliment them?”
“I-” You immediately sat up. “They grow more! Do not judge. If I want to call them pretty, they shall be called pretty. I will give them all the praise if they need that in order to grow.”
He chuckled at your defense. “Good to know. I’ll make sure to buy you more plants then?” You raised an eyebrow his way. “I have a lot of money, I can give you any type of plants. Just tell me which ones you want and I’ll buy them for you?”
“Are you sure?” You asked and he nodded.
“As long as we plant them together, it seems calming,” he answered and you smiled at this new him. You were just happy now he was opening up to him. “But, I also wanted to add… You’re honestly beautiful, Y/n. I’m serious. Nabi is pretty on the outside, but she’s nothing but trash in the inside. You are beautiful on the outside and inside and that’s what makes you stand out. I speak for the boys, but they’ll choose you over her any day and any time.”
You smiled a bit bigger at his words. “Thanks, Jin. But, if my feelings ever make you feel uncomfortable, I will stop hanging out with them. Just tell me the word.”
He laughed at your expression, so serious. “Y/n, I’m not worried. If anything, it would be a privilege to fall for you.”
You noted the way his gaze didn’t stray away this time you looked at him. “I promise I won’t hurt them and I won’t hurt you.” He simply looked at you and you couldn’t look away, either. You couldn’t. “Thank you for being here.”
“I will take it as long as you go to dinner with Jimin tomorrow. He’s mad at what Nabi told you.”
You smiled at his words and nodded. “I’ll call him later tonight while I make you dinner.”
“I’ll help you.”

before & after

“Jimin likes a girl.”
Taehyung and Namjoon looked at Jungkook as soon as his comment escaped his lips, their food being placed on the table in front of them.
“What?” Namjoon questioned, raising an eyebrow at the blonde-haired man who froze in his spot. “What do you mean you like a girl?”
Jimin sighed and he glared at Jungkook before looking away. He eyed the men in front of him who were giving him a stern look.
“Look, I’m not in love with her.”
“Let’s not forget this is how it started with—” Taehyung got caught off by Jimin’s annoyed tone. He leaned back against his chair.
“I know,” he said. “You don’t need to remind me. But she’s different! She’s not like her at all, I’m serious. She’s much more than that old hag.”
“That’s enough,” Namjoon stepped in between the two, noticing that their stare off was going to cause an argument. He didn’t need them arguing in a room full of people. “Listen, Jimin, you can have an attraction, whatever, but I know Jin is gonna deal with this the hardest. Do not tell him.”
“You shouldn’t give her the satisfaction of us not being able to let in another person because she left,” Jimin argued. All three eyed him. “You can all feel that we’re missing something, someone. It’s not just me.”
“What do you think?” Namjoon looked at Jungkook as he ate his food, acting as if he didn’t put Jimin on the spot.
“I met her,” Jungkook explained. “She seemed nice. Very awkward. Very… quiet. She gets harassed at work, won’t even snitch. It’s very obvious who does it but, we can’t do anything without catching that person on the act.”
“Hmm…” Namjoon hummed. “Send her up to your office when I’m there. I want to see her.”
“I want to see her, too,” Taehyung piped in rather excitedly, a smile on his face. “I want to see how beautiful she is.”
“She is stunning,” Jimin described. “You should see her eyes. After everything we’ve seen and done, I’d want to see her eyes after everything.”
Namjoon eyed the way Jimin spoke, his eyes glistening at even mentioning the girl. He wondered but, he knew he and the boys had to guard themselves. They couldn’t let themselves be hurt again.
During the next day, you came to work with Ari right by your side. She always liked heading to work with you and always made sure you ate a proper breakfast since you would not eat anything at work. Iseul and Minjun were to blame.
“My mom has been waiting for you to come over,” Ari said. “Wants to introduce you to her new recipe. But, it’s not really a new recipe. She just added a new seasoning.”
“Ugh, your mother’s food makes me want to die and reincarnate into a new person so I could taste it like it’s the first time,” you groaned out before jokingly slapping the wall by the button of the elevator since it was just you two.
“And then my aunt is asking for you, too,” Ari bit into her cookie. “You know how much she thinks of you as her daughter.”
“She is like my mom,” you shrugged, going inside the elevator with Ari, pressing the button for the floor you two work on. “Swear, having mommy issues really does make up for it when I have wonderful women loving me.”
“Your mom sucks ass,” Ari shook her head. “She really dislikes you because she projects her own insecurities to you. Like, she really said, ‘my daughter isn’t the weight I want her to be, I’m going to mistreat her’, and that’s stupid.”
“Mother’s.”
“Are we talking about how terrible mothers can be?” Eunji spoke up as soon as you and Ari came into her office to drop off the coffee she liked from her favorite café. “Because, I’ve met so many terrible mother’s.”
“I have a terrible mother, have you met her?” You smiled sarcastically, grabbing a donut your supervisor offered you both. “But, anyway, was the plan for today?”
“Don’t you need to go to Mr. Park’s office?” Ari nudged your shoulder, wiggling her eyebrows in a teasing manner.
You puffed your cheeks and nodded. “Do you have any documents, though, to turn in?”
“No, I turned in everything yesterday after you two left,” Eunji answered, glancing down at her computer before looking at you. “Yup, he asks for you right now.”
“I’m going, I’m going.”
You turned around and left, heading towards the elevator. Doing the usual routine, you walked towards Mr. Park’s assistant, smiling at her.
“Good morning, Binna,” you greeted, having read her name by her desk. “I’m here to see Mr. Park.”
“Good morning, y/n,” she smiled back at you, “and go ahead. He’s already waiting for you. He’s joined, though, by Mr. Jeon and both Mr. Kim’s. Thought I’d let you prepare.”
You furrowed your eyebrows at the added names and mentally screamed at yourself to not be too awkward. You wouldn’t be able to sleep if you did anything embarrassing.
“Thank you, Binna,” you bowed and left, heading towards the door of the office and opened it, poking your head in to make sure who you were going to be facing. “Um, Mr. Park?”
A head perked at your voice and the others turned to look at you, staring you down as you stepped forward.
“Y/n!” Jimin smiled at you. “Now, you know why I called you up here, right?” You nodded. “Mmm, good. So, let me see your arms.” You extended your arms and he eyed them, tracing the skin with his ring-clad fingers. “By the way, this is Namjoon,” said man smiled a little at you and bowed his head, “and Taehyung.”
Taehyung simply waved before placing his hands on his thighs, leaning back against the couch. Jungkook curtly nodded his head when you looked at him, continuing to read the documents he was staring at.
“Hello,” you smiled at them.
Namjoon eyed you and the way the blouse hugged your curves. But, Jimin was right. Your eyes, he noticed those first. Though it wasn’t a big deal, it was nice to see someone look at them like they’re normal human beings.
“Okay, you’re all set,” Jimin nodded at you, his hands lingering on your forearms. “Come see me at the end of the day.”
“Yes, sir,” you breathed out, feeling nervous at the intense stare down both Namjoon and Taehyung were giving you. You could feel the way their eyes burned holes into your body and you could see that they wouldn’t look away. “Um, is there anything else?”
“Nope,” Jimin shook his head. “We’re all set for today. Just send up some documents later on. Eunji already knows.”
“Okay,” you nodded. You slightly puffed your cheeks as you glanced at each one of your bosses. “It was nice to meet you two.”
“Likewise.”
You cleared your throat and walked away, immediately hurrying up so you could get out of the hot room that was suffocating you little by little.
You closed the door behind you and walked away towards the elevator, waving at Binna one last time before the doors closed.
As you made it to your floor, Ari was already waiting for you, a smile on her face.
“So?” She questioned, wrapping her arm around yours as she led you towards your desk. “How was it?”
“I met two of our other bosses,” you answered. “They were very attractive but, they made me so nervous. They just kept staring at me.”
“Because you’re beautiful, duh,” Ari commented. “Look, just be careful okay? I heard a couple of… rumors that they might be involved with the wrong crowd. I wouldn’t have cared but, it seems that Mr. Park has taken a liking to you.”
“Yeah, I’ll be careful,” you smiled reassuringly at your friend. “But, hopefully they’re just rumors.”
As the day continued, lunch arrived rather quickly surprisingly. You and Ari were in the lunch room, eating the food Ari’s mother had made you both.
“You should get a cat,” Ari started. “I would definitely go to your house even more if you had a cat.”
“Wow, not even for me?” You gasped dramatically, holding onto your chest. “That’s fucked up. I do nothing but love you.”
Ari snorted. “Shut up.” You chuckled and continued eating as you listened to her. “You give me cat person vibes so, you should definitely get one.”
“I would want to,” you said, “but, I can’t have pets in my apartment. The owner is allergic to every kind of animal so, he’ll sneeze from a mile away.”
“Fuck him!” Ari exclaimed, causing other workers to glance at you out of annoyance. “We’ll keep the cat hidden and when he does a house check, I’ll take her away.”
“We?” You questioned her voice of words, smiling a little at her. “But, I’ll think about it. Having a pet wouldn’t be bad.”
“I’m telling you,” Ari said, standing up as she had finished her food. You followed quickly behind, your tray in one hand and a drink on the other. “Get a cat and name it after Mr. Park.”
You giggled at her choice of words before you were blocked by two people.
“Oh, God,” you sighed, rolling your eyes as you stared at Iseul and Minjun. “What do you two want?”
“Back away from Jimin and Jungkook,” Iseul glared at you. “They don’t care about you so, stop being weird and leave them alone.”
“Okay?” You confusedly questioned before Ari stood by your side. “They’re not yours so I don’t see why I have to “back away” from them.”
Iseul stepped closer. “Stay away from them, you fat bitch. You’re not pretty, you’re not anything. Everyone here hates you and I can’t wait until Jimin and Jungkook see the whale that you are.”
You would normally cower away from her words but lately, you have just gotten annoyed at the way she spoke.
“You bullying me is very elementary school of you, Iseul,” you commented. “It’s embarrassing of you thinking that you can easily insult the way I look and I’ll automatically be on my knees begging to look like you.”
“Minjun, stop being Iseul’s little bitch, yeah?” Ari sarcastically smiled at the man and he stepped forward, too.
“Shut the fuck up, Ari,” Minjun glared at her.
Ari shrugged. “You know I’m right.”
Minjun headed towards you, grabbing your arm tightly. “You and your bitch friend need to shut up. Iseul is right. Our bosses do not give a shit about you so stop acting like they do. No one would ever see you as anything but a whale trying to fit into clothes that don’t fit her.”
Every co-worker there laughed at his words and you simply stared at him, knowing that the bruise he would leave on your skin would be an issue later on.
Ari deviously smiled at the way Minjun left his finger marks behind on your skin. Surely now, he would be fired for harassing you.
“Now, you pig,” Iseul smiled at you, “stay away from them. They want me. I’m to be their future wife and my mom is making sure I am. Before you know it, I’ll be your boss.”
She and her minion walked away, leaving you to look at the skin of your arm, watching it turn red.
“Mr. Park is not going to like that,” Ari commented, shaking her head. You two walked away from the lunch room. “Sometimes, I want to punch that stupid mouth of hers. She’s so delusional.”
“It hurts much more this time,” you whined, resting your head on her shoulder. “Kiss it better, Ari.”
“Stop,” Ari chuckled and waved you off, making you laugh with her. “But hey, don’t listen to her. You’re not a whale or a pig and your body looks hot as hell in the clothes you wear.”
You smiled at your friend’s words. “Thank you, Ari. It fucking hurt a lot. Does it look bad?”
“Yep,” Ari nodded, inspecting the new wound. “Shit, you’re even bleeding a little. Mr. Park won’t like that, you know?”
“I know,” you breathed out before shaking your head. “He’s gonna want me to tell him. I can’t…”
“Look, don’t be afraid of Iseul,” Ari tried her best to reassure you. “She doesn’t give a crap about Minjun so, just snitch on him.”
“I can’t just snitch on him,” you told her. “If he gets fired, everyone will know it’s me and then the bullying will get worse. I’m already drained from all of the harassment now, I can’t imagine later on when everyone realizes that I snitched on one of their own, as stupid as that sounds.”
“Hey, if it gets worse, I’m being serious by the way,” she grabbed your shoulder and shook it gently, “tell Mr. Park. You know he already has your back.”
“Yeah, until he realizes that Iseul is the one doing this to me,” you stressed out. “Iseul’s mother is friends with them. It’s scary.”
“Well, she claims they are,” Ari rolled her eyes at the mention of the girl. “We don’t know they’re relationship but, Mr. Park and Mr. Jeon didn’t seem entirely thrilled when she interrupted them when they were with you.”
“Hmm…” You thought about it before slowly nodding your head. “Yeah, I should test the water first. I should briefly mention Iseul to Mr. Park.”
“You should,” Ari nodded, drinking from her water bottle. “Just try to see what their relationship is like. If you get that feeling that they’re friends, don’t say anything yet. Let them catch her in the act.”
“You’re right.”
As the day went on, it was finally time for you to face Mr. Park in his office.
You did the usual routine: heading towards the elevator, pressing the button where Mr. Park’s office was at, waiting anxiously, greeting Binna, and standing in front of the door nervously.
You went in and saw him looking down at his watch before his head snapped towards hearing you open the door. You smiled a little at him.
“I was waiting for you,” he chuckled a little, stepping forward until he was right in front of you. He grabbed your arm, the one that Minjun didn’t hurt, and you felt the way his fingers gave you shivers. They were so cold.
“You shouldn’t be waiting for me,” you told him. He looked at you under his lashes before smirking.
“And I won’t listen to you,” he said, grabbing the other arm. His smirk immediately disappeared as soon as he eyed the finger marks, the ones that been bleeding again after you cleaned them. “Who did this?”
“Look,” you started, not looking into his eyes, “I appreciate your concern but, it will get worse if you do fire that person…”
“Is there a group of people who are harassing you?” He arched an eyebrow at you, his face so serious it scared you. You tentatively nodded. “I’ll make sure it doesn’t happen. I don’t tolerate bullying or harassment in my company, especially my division. If you don’t tell me who it is, I will tell Namjoon.”
You gulped. You knew Namjoon and your other boss, Jin, were the main bosses. Yes, there were the other 5, but they had much more control and superiority over every worker since they were much more serious. Namjoon took care of the company well and the workers, and Jin had the idea of creating BTS Inc. which then expanded to an idea helped by the others.
“Fine,” you breathed out, not wanting the issue to get any bigger. You sighed, closing your eyes, before opening them to make eye contact with Jimin. “It’s Minjun.”
“Mmm, that asshole,” Jimin chuckled lowly before pressing on the phone by his computer. He tapped some buttons before it rang and Binna’s voice was heard. “Call security and tell them to go to Eunji’s floor. Then, call Eunji and tell her that she needs to let Minjun know he’s fired.”
“Yes, sir.”
He hangs up and you look at him nervously. He sighed at the way you played with your fingers and he grabbed your hand, making you sit on his chair even though there were others.
He grabbed the same box he had grabbed the first day you met him, taking out a wipe to wipe away any remaining blood on the wound. You scrunched your nose in pain and watched him place a bandaid on it. The Barbie one.
“Can I ask you something?” He hummed in response, staring at you. “Are you and Mr. Jeon friends with Iseul?”
Jimin made a thinking face before shrugging. “She’s… the daughter of someone we know. Her step-dad is one of our great friends, she just… associates herself with us since she’s seen us so many times. Why?”
“I was just curious,” you shrugged next. “Especially since she approached you and Mr.-”
“Just call him Jungkook, flower,” he chuckled at your words, smirking in satisfaction as he heard the way your breath hitched at hearing the name he gave you. “What? You like that name?”
You cleared your throat softly and ignored the way your body warmed up at the name. “Um, but yeah, I was just asking since she approached you two.”
“Mmm,” he grabbed a chair and placed it beside you, taking off his blazer. “Well… I can’t say much but, Iseul just associates herself with us when we don’t want to… associate with her, you know?”
“Yeah, I get you,” you smiled a little at him and he smiled at you, too, his head tilted to the side a bit. “I’m sorry for asking. It’s none of my business.”
“Don’t worry, I don’t mind answering,” Jimin leaned back. “Iseul is not exactly one… for this type of work, but her dad wanted her to experience hard work and to be paid, and he asked a favor. I just wish she tried at least, to put in the hard work. But, are you friends with her?”
“No?” you squinted your eyes at him, making him raise an eyebrow at the way you sounded unsure with your own answer. “Complicated.”
“Listen, if she’s doing anything to you, you tell me, okay?” He grabbed your hand and you looked at your hands, feeling the coldness of his fingers and rings. “Her father might be a friend of mine but I won’t hesitate to step my foot in if she’s doing anything damaging.”
You gave him a tight-lipped smile. “Thank you. It means a lot.”
He smiled at you as if you two have been friends for years.
“I’ll let you go,” he whispered in a way that if he spoke any louder, he would give away any shared secrets. “I’ll expect the same routine tomorrow, okay? I’m checking your arms again.”
You nodded. “I’ll be able to do that. In the meantime, as much as I love the Barbie bandaids, get new ones, please, Mr. Park.”
“Y/n,” he gave you a playful look, “call me Jimin, and I’ll buy you new ones since you asked so nicely.”
You smiled at him and stood up from his chair, turning to leave. He grabbed your wrist before you walked any further.
“Yes?” You turned to face him.
“Have you ate?” He asked and you hummed, nodding.
“My friend Ari makes me eat so I ate lunch, don’t worry,” you reassured him, confused as to why he was asking.
“She makes you?” He raised both eyebrows, almost as if scolding you. You sheepishly smiled. “You better start eating well, flower, I can’t have you fainting on me.”
You wondered if he heard the way your heart sped up, hammering against your chest rather quickly at the way he called you flower. Was this even appropriate? You just enjoyed the moment. You’ll ask Eunji and Ari later.
“Yes, Mr.—” His lips opened, about to correct you again but you immediately caught on to your mistake. “Yes, Jimin…”
“Much better,” he smiled. “You can go now. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“See you tomorrow, Jimin.”
“See you, flower.”
