I wanted to know the reaction of the brothers after hearing this! imagine that after she says those words, the hall becomes silent and suddenly fills with killing intent!

The brothers arguing about something, while you with a deadpan stare with your D.D.D on hand. The screen read 'back up boyfriend' on the caller ID.

After an hour of fighting, you decided to push call.

Solomon: MC?

MC: Hey~ Solomon, haven't I told you that I was into older men?

Solomon: MC we talk about this. Just because I'm immortal that doesn't mean-

MC: Do you want to be my boyfriend old man!

It's Sin Eater anon again - and yea that would be an interesting way for them to be created in Obey Me. Sounds like a shady experiment that the Celestial Realm would do. Lesser sin eaters being born/created from lower/weaker demons, humans, and animals. Lightwardens and Cardinal Virtues being born from demon nobles/former avatars because I doubt there weren't Avatars of Sin before the brothers became them.

Most sin eaters aren't intelligent relying on instinct to hunt their prey be it demons, angels, or life from the human world. The Lightwardens and Virtues though? There's a chance that they retained their intelligence in the transformation. The irony that is the Virtues being former demons and the name's they are given.

The experiment that lead to the creation of Sin Eaters was probably done long before Lucifer and his brothers fell. Probably when the Celestial Realm was still at war with Hell/devildom (I assume that Diavolo's father probably wasn't at peace with them.) which would explain why the brothers became the new Avatars of Sin. The former ones were missing, presumed dead most likely. Along with other demons that may have been taken prisoner by the angels. Because good doesn't always mean nice.

MC having to battle one of them is fun. You know what would be horrifying though? The MC they summon (because Lucifer or Diavolo made a mistake of some sort in the spell and that's just hilarious.) being one of the Lightwardens/Virtues that retained their intelligence. They are capable of masking what they truly are but still struggle under the vast amount of light they contain. They still play the part of the "human" exchange student. Maybe it's curiosity - they had been locked away for such a long time - that they willingly pretend to be human.

To the demons MC's soul just seems to be unusually bright, blinding even. Maybe they believe that MC's soul is just exceptionally polished and appealing and not that it drips with corrupted primordial light. Had they not been one of the former Avatars of Sin their soul might have simply shattered under the weight. Even now their soul is just barely holding together.

To Luke and Simeon (and maybe Raphael later on?) the light in MC's soul is what makes them believe they should be an angel. There's no way that someone with a soul that bright would belong anywhere else but the Celestial Realm. Luke's too young to know about the Sin Eaters - there creation was purposely hidden because not even the angels want to admit to such a terrible mistake. Maybe Simeon knows of them but has never actually seen one. Or he doesn't know because everything about them has been hidden away.

Sin Eater!MC still befriends the brothers, though whether it's because they truly care, or if it's for some other reason is unknown. Maybe they desire to find a way to free the other Lightwardens and Virtues that are locked away. Or they understand that while incredibly strong they might not be able to take on all the brothers and Barbatos/Diavolo alone. If they make pacts with the brothers like in canon or not depends on how the pacts react with them being a sin eater. Maybe they do and sometimes feel something more than what a simple pact should share. MC's light reminds them in a way of being back in the Celestial Realm. Perhaps it draws the brothers/demons in like a moth to a lantern.

Or they don't make the pacts and need to find another way to free Belphie. MC wasn't fooled by his claims; they've lived so long it would be hard to trick them. They'll free him - his lies and barely concealed rage along with his sin is tempting.

Lesson 16 probably plays out quite differently - either they free him with use of the pacts, or use their own light/strength to "burn" away the seal. Though I imagine Belphie trying to kill them and in that moment it forces Lightwarden!MC to actually fight back. Belphie wasn't really expecting to be hit with light that burns so badly and reminds him of an angel/the Celestial Realm. Maybe even in that moment when he's knocked away he sees MC for what they truly are - a sin eater and a Lightwarden (he even if never knew of their existence.). Crueler (and because the names of the attacks Lightwardens use in FFXIV are named after tortures) would be to resemble Lilith in that moment.

Lightwarden!MC probably has alternate forms much like the brothers/demons do in canon. A regular human looking one, one akin to the demonic form we see (so probably similar to what the Virtues look like, mostly still "human" but with plaster-white skin/hair and black sclera with red eyes? maybe bits that are reminders/leftovers from who they once were? Like horns/wings/tail if MC was once a demon - the possibilities are endless!), and their true form - the eldritch abomination of light. Because Sin Eaters have such monstrous forms it could easily be something that would give nightmares to demons and angels - twisted and wrong and bathed in so much light. Maybe they cry shimmering white/gold fluid like an angel's blood, or the black ichor of a demon. It could be almost a mockery to what the seraphim look like.

As for Lightwarden!MC's title/name? I'd lean towards something like Forgiven Betrayal as in Dante's Inferno betrayal was the worst of the sins. Or Elpis (Hope), to go with the other Virtues that bear the Greek name of what they represent. Because in one timeline/Lilith's hope was for the MC to save her brothers. Lilith didn't get that MC in this timeline/au. Or like the other Lightwardens are named after forms of love so MC's name/title is Agape (unconditional love). I could see any of these three being something the Archangels naming MC.

Lilith's ghost/spirit in this timeline/au is terrified of what the MC is and there's no way for her to warn her family. She can only hope/pray that MC maintains their curiosity about them and the Devildom and doesn't give into their impulse to devour them and their sins.

Additional pain/suffering would be if the demon/avatar MC was formerly before becoming a sin eater/lightwarden was someone that Barbatos and Diavolo knew/cared about. They thought they were dead, but here the MC stands a mockery of who/what they once were bathed endless light.

That and no one noticing or caring about lesser demons disappearing. It isn't often enough to raise a concern - demons do kill each other on occasion. Except it's not a demon doing it - it's Lightwarden!MC. Why is the sin eater feasting on lesser demons? Maybe to build strength/power. It could be for breaking the seal on Belphie's door, or to insure their strength if forced to fight against the Avatars/stronger demons. Or they need the power to break the chains/seals binding the other wardens and virtues.

I guess this really long thing kind of snowballed? Though part of it is inspired by the what if/au of the WoL/player falling and becoming a lightwarden themselves. That and it amuses me to think of the brothers/dateables entering battle against the MC and it's like a boss battle. There's the boss music and the flash of their title - Lightwarden Elpis/Agape, Forgiven Betrayal.

The Celestial Realm is only interested in doing it’s own version of ‘good’ and that includes cleansing sinners. What those in charge failed to realise is that even angels are capable of sin - it is in fact their choice to follow their Father’s law and resist temptation that makes them angels. They assumed that removing sin from a being would leave an angel behind… not a being that judged even the Seraphim lacking in purity.

I imagine Lucifer, Simeon, and Raphael are all aware of the Sin Eaters’ existence as seraphim/former seraphim. Whether or not they had a hand in the experiments, they were likely the ones sent to take care of it if there was ever any concern about Sin Eaters encroaching on the Celestial Realm. Mammon and Levi may well know too - Levi was a general after all, and now a Grand Admiral. He may be expected to fight off weaker Sin Eaters when needed.

But a Light Warden MC…

It’s been so long since anyone saw a Light Warden that they can’t recognise MC for what they are. Maybe it starts as curiosity for MC - and the knowledge that even they can’t defeat this many powerful demons (+ Solomon and Simeon) alone. They still have their tactical mind, after all, and they aren’t interested in getting sent right back to prison. They decide to play along and bide their time until they can purge all this powerful sin.

The pacts… after the pacts, the brothers find themselves changing, subtly. Beel is better able to resist his hunger, at least not going into rages anymore. Levi doesn’t get as much FOMO. Satan finds for once in his life he can feel peace. MC’s excess light travels through the pacts into the demons. Lucifer’s worries are justified - MC, however unintentionally, is making a change in them. Whether it’s for better or worse though isn’t obvious.

But the pacts are a two way street. Maybe some of the demons’ darkness starts to poke at the edges of MC’s overwhelming light. Enough to remind them more of the person they used to be. Enough for them to want things for themselves, like friendship, and love, and good food and pretty things. MC’s feelings for the brothers start to become less an act and more sincere. Their lies start to fill them with regret. They don’t want to hurt the brothers.

And then Belphie attacks - MC easily able to break the wards but following the pacts plan anyway - and instead of MC dying, Belphie is nearly killed. Worse - nearly turned into a Sin Eater, his own sin nearly seared out of him by their light. For a moment Belphie sees the whole of what MC is - and maybe MC is still a descendant of Lilith, their Light Warden form bearing the appearance of the angel their spiritual ancestor once was.

Of course, even if Belphie maintains that suspicion, it’s not like many will believe him. After all, if MC was a Light Warden, they would’ve tried to attack by now, right?

Lilith can’t influence this MC as she did the canon one. Is forced to watch as MC gains the trust of her brothers. Can only hope that MC’s growing personality will win out over their excessive light.

And maybe MC is winning… maybe that title of Agape or Elpis is starting to truly fit as they learn to love again, truly love, after centuries of only feeling the pure light. Maybe they’re starting to break out of the light, to be the first Sin Eater ever to be reformed as another being, a being in balance with light and dark.

And then… to lead into that boss battle… there’s a fight with a Light Warden/Virtue and MC takes a hit for one of the brothers, becoming newly infected with excess light once more. All the progress on their true personality, all their love, is erased in an instant as they are returned to being a Light Warden. The pacts light up and sizzle out as MC burns off the remnants of darkness within them.

Cue boss bottle music.

Dammit, what if the pact with the 7 brothers was the power the dark lord doesn’t know about?

I’m already imagining what the Battle of Hogwarts will be like! Voldermot and his Death Eaters against the seven very angry older brothers!

Meg: This would be a very interesting take… I do love Harry Potter, but wrapping my head around everything would be a doozy.

Though I do think the Brothers could assist in defeating Voldemort although that would be a lot of school for harry.

Also! No kissing booth if someone is uncomfortable! Hugging booth instead! Or!!! If physical contact sucks!! Lucy with her therapist stand but MC instead. Or!!! FOR ANYONE JUST DONE WITH ANY LEVEL OF CONTACT, people can pick up handmade “fortunes” that MC slapped together.

Mostly I want MC being like “we don’t take Grim here, five non cursed rocks gets you a peck on the cheek but a particularly nice compliment gets you some flirting to go along with it”

MC arbitrarily deciding what the 'cost' of the booth is considering they're not using Grimm, but leveraging it against the brothers.

For Levi its "say three nice things about yourself that you believe." For Beel its the last bite of his funnel cake, and for Lucifer its to apologize to his brothers for being an 'invulnerable' hardass.

MC working out they can just apply this concept (a kiss/hug for x) in their everyday life and baking Simeon a giant cake as a thank you.
