This, Like THIS!

This, like THIS!

Not just for physical disabilities but for mental health.  Like yes, I am glad that you got the support you needed and with time and meds you were able to contribute just as much as everyone else.  But also, if you can’t take the meds, or you take them and they aren’t effective, or you have good days and bad days for the rest of your life it isn’t because you aren’t trying hard enough, and you still deserve the accommodation and compassion you need to get by.  It shouldn’t be on some form of arbitrary timeline, and we shouldn’t start this with a metric for, you need to produce this much work to have value.

Stop talking about capability, and start talking about worthiness

disability advocacy went wrong when it became about inspiration porn and “differently abled” and savants. its incredible that that guy with no legs did a triathlon but your sister with no legs will not and she doesnt need prosthetics or five hour training days to deserve respect and compassion and accommodations. its incredible that that autistic guy can look at a city from a helicopter for an hour and then draw the entire detailed skyline from memory when he lands but your autistic friend cannot and they dont need to have a special Autism Power to deserve respect and compassion and accommodations.

activism framed around “we are just as CAPABLE” means that when people genuinely are less capable they are left behind. activism framed around “we are just as WORTHY” is fundamental to radical compassion.

For The Last Two Years I Have Been Doing Trickortweet On Twitter, Where You Post A Tweet Sized Horror

For the last two years I have been doing trickortweet on Twitter, where you post a tweet sized horror story every day in October. In the face of Twitter's ever changing policies( not for the better), I am moving it on over to Tumblr.

The challenge here is to write a horror storyline in 100 words or less. This years theme is the senses, as adding in something other than sight makes it a little more engaging. Use #100wordhorror when posting, and let's see if we can make a thing of it!

Hope to see your #100wordhorror this October.

Shout-out to everyone suffering from eczema, psoriasis, or any of the other ailments that can also be described as, my skin hates me sometimes. Having that special moment today where I noticed a small outbreak, and applied moisturizer, only to discover it was too late, the "soothing, calming" lotion felt like acid being rubbed into a thousand tiny papercuts. Isn't the changing of the seasons lovely?

So I learned something today, and also, this is one of those, “the truth is stranger than fiction” moments because NO ONE, would be okay with this sort of random farfetched conclusion in a story, and YET!

It's kind of tragic how homophobia affects insecure men.

Like sometimes they want to experiment with a bit of anal and instead of just buying a sex toy and some lube like a normal person, they instead shove random objects up their ass that inevitably get stuck and then they try to get them out by themselves which makes things worse and then they lie to doctors about it and like this all leads to all kinds of extra complications like internal damage, risk of infections, bleeding, the fall of Yugoslavia, etc.

Come on guys, just buy a dildo. It's way safer and it leads to way fewer problems.
