I Hit A Goldmine Tonight. This Is More Activity In One Night Than Ive Done In At Least A Week.
I hit a goldmine tonight. This is more activity in one night than I’ve done in at least a week.
“Wei Wuxian’s ghost path is inherently evil!” Ok, but consider this:
Wei WuXian, “You think I’m implicating? Maybe I was being too general. Let me phrase it more clearly then. Everyone here has lost their cultivation from doing one thing. And what’s that? It’s fighting corpses. This Sect Leader of Moling Su was with all of your through the fights. And while you were all fighting corpses, he pretended to be playing evil-repelling songs, but in reality he had re-written the song into a melody that makes people lose their cultivation. So while he pretended to be fighting by everyone’s side on the battlefield, he was actually secretly…”

This is the second time the Lan Clan has had their righteous musical cultivation that is meant to expel evil instead used for evil and to commit murder (or attempt a massacre, in this case). So maybe nobody’s cultivation path is inherently good or evil, hm?

Do you know what I find absolutely ball achingly hilarious?
That JC stans literally make shit up and see what they want to see.
"WWX giving up his golden core to JC was romantic... If it was any other 'ship' (🤢) it would be seen as such, but because it's them it's not"
No... It's not because it's "them" (but there is zero chemistry there either way, not to mention the fact WWX only has eyes for LWJ even from being a teen or the glaringly obvious fact JC is homophobic!) It's the fact it wasn't romantic at all, you morons...
WWX did not do that out of love, it was out of obligation. The fact he had to actually think about it and convince himself he was doing the right thing should be enough to show even the simplest of people that he actually didn't want to do it. When it's an act of love it's instinctual, it's automatic and natural. Not lying in bed at night reminding yourself you have a 'debt' to pay back, the words to selfish people said to you before they died and trying to convince yourself it is the right thing to do.
It also wasn't romantic of JC to take it knowing fine well WWXs story had major plot holes in it and made zero sense when thought about logically. He had a lifeline this whole time and never used it when he was starving and being attacked by dogs? Don't be so bloody stupid. JC took that opportunity knowing it was suspicious and he didn't care how he was getting a new golden core. That's not romantic, that's selfish.
Guess the JC stans must have skipped those pages huh? Just like the pages of the book where JC is homophobic about MXY before he knew it wasn't MXY. Or the times he actually hits JL to the ground on more than one occasion? Must have missed those too.
Quite honestly, Lan Wangji probably figured out something was wrong with Wei Wuxian’s golden core, here:
As though he was hit by a large boulder, Wei WuXian flew back from the force, crashing onto a tree. He felt warmth rise up his throat and cursed. Lan WangJi saw this happen just as he returned. His expression changed at once and he rushed in front of him. Wen Qing had just shoved Wen Yuan into another’s arms. She wanted to check on Wei WuXian’s injuries, but he got there before she could. She paused with surprise. Lan WangJi was almost embracing Wei WuXian as he held his hand and passed spiritual energy to him.
Wen Qing hurried, “Let him go first—it’s not necessary! Let me do it! I’m Wen Qing!”
..and that’s why his response after bringing Wen Ning back is so tame, here:
Lan WangJi gazed at him quietly, “Wei Ying.”
Wei WuXian, “What?”
Lan WangJi, “Can you really control it?”
He’s no longer cautioning. He’s asking as if he realizes that there might just be another reason Wei Wuxian has chosen this path, and it has nothing to do with seeking perpetual revenge or attaining power or being corrupted by an outside source:
After a while of silence, Lan WangJi asked, “But what if something does happen to you?”
Wei WuXian, “It won’t.“
—Chapt. 75: Distance, exr
But something already has, and Lan Wangji is about to find out the hard way.
@wuxiaphoenix
Strike 1:
[Wei Wuxian’s] heart had been sinking for a long time. In the beginning, it was filled with the joy of being on his way to attend the full-month celebration of Jiang YanLi’s son. But right now, all of the joy dissipated, clouded over by a shadow. Still, though, he refused to think about it too much, unwilling to take a guess at why these people made an ambush here.

AO3 was created deliberately as the place for taboo fanfiction that no one else wanted to host.
It was created in significant part in response to the spontaneous deletion of adult and queer content fanfic on other archives; specifically fanfiction.net and livejoural.com.
I cannot stress this enough. Fanfiction.net and livejoural.com straight up deleted users adult and queer content without warning, backup or recourse.
AO3 was created so that authors could host queer fic, porn, and transgressive adult material without the threat of deletion.
AO3 was created as the place for shipcest and underage fic.
If you want a clean archive with no taboo material, those archives exist. AO3 was created to be their alternative.
Mmm, that Qin Su plot bunny is getting new strength here…
Imma be honest: I do not believe Jin Guangyao when he said that Qin Su was pregnant and that’s why he went through with the wedding. Bi Cao says:
“A few days before the wedding, Madam suddenly told me one evening that she needed to go see Young Madam Su’s future husband. And that she needed to go see him immediately, and asked me to accompany her. I said, “If you want to see him you can summon him, Madam. Why would we go to a young man’s place in secret in the middle of the night and draw suspicion on ourselves if someone hears about it?” But Madam insisted, and so in the end I went with her. Once we were there, she asked me to stay outside, didn’t let me in, so I had no idea what she and Jin GuangYao talked about. I only know that a few days later when the day of the wedding ceremony was finally decided upon, Madam fainted the moment she saw the official invitations. She continued to be miserable long after Young Madam Su’s wedding. It was a sickness of the heart that only grew worse as the days went by. Right before she passed away, she finally couldn’t keep things to herself any longer, and told me everything.”
–Chapt. 86: “Core” Part 8, boat-full-of-lotus-pods
Not only did Madam Qin ask for the wedding to be called off just a few days prior to it being officially instated, but neither Madam Qin nor Bi Cao, who says she watched Qin Su grow up, would have noticed if she was pregnant at the time? It doesn’t seem like the wedding was rushed at all, and the only thing I can think of is that Jin Guangyao knocked Qin Su up and found out about the pregnancy after his talk with Madam Qin but before the wedding invited got sent, which is such a short period of time that I find that extremely convenient if true but mostly improbable.
If Jin Guangyao is telling the truth that Qin Su was pregnant before their official marriage, then I think it’s much more likely that Jin Guangyao, wanting an excuse to not be forced to call the wedding off, may have purposefully gotten Qin Su pregnant as insurance in case anyone tried to break it off for him, as a pregnancy out of wedlock would ruin Qin Su’s reputation, but Jin Guangyao calling the wedding off by stating either the truth (he was about to marry his sister) or no explanation would have damaged his own reputation.
