The ship I'm insane about right now is Eclipse/eaps Moon. I've never been one for Eclipse ships, but for some reason, they make me insane. There's just so much potential!! Give Eclipse a mirror to stare into and contemplate how he's the worst-case scenario. His own self-fufilled prophecy. Give Moon a confidante who's seen the possibilities and, against all logic and probably his best interest, wants the best for him. Who wants to protect him against an ever-looming threat that he realizes he can't just fix with machines. It just gets to me in the worst and best ways.

I included some very "defiant whumpee" things too :)

Whumpee bracing themselves and then flinching when Caretaker touches them

Silence as a trigger. Like if caretaker goes quiet... Whumpee believes they're about to explode and compulsively starts apologizing

Or just stares at them waiting for shit to go down

"stop apologizing... You're safe." "...define 'safe'"

"I made them angry, I guess," whumpee bites their lip and rubs above the broken arm. "You made them--who the hell would do this?!" "Sorry..."

Whumpee wakes up after a nightmare. Doesn't want to make caretaker "angry" by telling them what happened.

Caretaker rubbing face in frustration, "I'm serious whumpee, I'm not going to hurt you" only to get another mumbled "sorry"

"where did you get this wound! You told me you were in a fight!" "Well it WAS a little one-sided" (whumpee currently bleeding out)

Whumpee trying to make it sound like they had some control over the situation because they can't cope with it otherwise

Whumpee bawling and caretaker rushes in... Whumper rubs their face dry hastily. "I wasn't crying. No I wasn't. No that was a giant belch. Yeah. Got any tums?"

"you know it's okay to be vulnerable..." "Oh FUCK that."

When I first saw Earth, I found her boring. She was the optimist who gave everyone a chance. But as her character evolved, I started to like her. Her pain is almost insignificant from most of her family. Yet it exists. I don’t think she is perfect, at least not anymore. Since she learned she can’t help everyone. I deeply relate to her and love her dearly. I just hope people will like her more.

Besides, she is extremely funny. And I don’t think everyone realizes how important she is to the family.

Today's EAPS episode has made me start wondering how many adults Sun has actually interacted with. Moon seems to have a better grip on maturity and the world around him, but he also has interacted with the world more, even if it's via things like video games. But Sunshine?

As Foxy implied, he acts like he is mentally a child. Given how AI works, if he's barely had any adult interaction and works with kids all day, then it's no wonder why he's so childish. He's like a child afraid of a shot at the doctor. He can't seem to comprehend that being brave and sharing will give them a mutually good result; all he can think about how scary it is to lose control and be in pain.
