In the kingdom of leiren(Lee-ren), There is a is a small village deep it the forests of the Miruu Mountains. There was a happy village, children played and laughed, as they’re mothers prepared super and their fathers tended to their small plots of land and cattle.
Not far from the village there was a small humble temple, the few monks there would take in orphaned children, and teach them as well as the children of the village about basics of life and how to take care of one’s self.
One day during the time of harvest in the village, the monk by the name of Gabel was teaching that day, he decided to teach the young children about the God of their land. He said that their God was a great and powerful beast that had protected the land since before their ancestors were born.
During their break time most of the children whispered and talked about what kind of beast their god may look like, however there was child, called Haldir, who did not talk about the god nor did he interact with the other children for you see he was the outcast of the group, the strange one, no other child would go near him let alone talk to him.
Reason being that he was a strange child, for he was a child that was abandoned, by his parents if he had any, they didn’t know. It was unknown as to who abandoned him, for he was found outside the shrine, of the land god, in the Middle of a clear summer night, with a fullmoon in view and fireflies flying around the temple and shrine. That wasn’t the only reason either, because he had sky blue hair, pink eyes, slightly long elvish ears and fair pale skin, the other children thought it was strange, thought that he wasn’t born from some family from the village or that maybe his strange skin and eye colour were the reason for his abandonment. For everyone else in the village had dark coloured hair and light tan skin, as for their eyes some had brown and others had blue, there was even a few children with both eye colour. So he often keeps his eyes closed so no body sees them and dyes he hair, trying to fit in but to no avail.
So he sat in acorner of the temples garden, away from the other children and just looked up at the sky. As he stared at the sky, he thought about Why he was he abandoned? Was it the land gods will for him to end up at the temple? And to be ignored by the other Children?. Whilst in thought, an old monk walked up to he and asked “Haldir why aren’t you interacting with the other children?” Kneeling down in front of him.
Haldir replies “I try father Erart, I really do but every time I try to talk to them they ignore me or the walk way.”
Erart places an hand on Haldir shoulder “give them time, from they know no better, they only know how to treat you like that because they see how the villager treat you. It’s not completely their fault.”
“I know that father but still….never mind it doesn’t matter” he smiles at Erart, hiding the loneliness he feels.
Erart stands up brushing off the dry mud dust from his robe “haldir”
“Yes father Erart?” He asks.
“Would you like to come read some dusty old books with me?, keep me company for a bit?” He asks in reply, peering down at Haldir.
Haldir look up at Erart and smiles “I would be happy to be up reading companion father Erart” he stands up and walks with Erart to the temple library, when they got to the library father Erart grabs the book he had yet finished reading and sat down, continuing reading when he had left of. As for Haldir, he began to glance over the dusty books on the shelf, looking for a book that may catch his attention. As he was looking for a book in the maze of book shelves, on a book shelf again a wall, he found one of the books out of place, so he decided to push it back into place, as he did he heard a very strange, repeating click sound, the the sound stopped.
Within moments of the sound stopping, the was a sudden loud thud that may haldir jump. He came out of the maze and to check on father Erart, Erart was sound asleep in his chair and his book laid pages open across his stomach. Haldir gave a sigh of relief that nothing happened to father Erart. However he had become very curious as to what that sound was so he he when back to where that out of place book was. But it was no longer there is stead the was a big empty door way of sort where that book shelf was meant to be.
What the!? Where the book Shelf!? And why is they a big hole in the Wall!? He asked him self, not wanting to think about it any more than that he decide to leave the maze of shelves, but as he was about to leave his curiosity got the better of him, back at the entrance of the hole I the wall the, thought one little look in side won’t hurt?….Right? So he peered in side.
In side the hole it as pitch black nothing could be seen no even the slightest cobweb, in that moment he felt something brush past his feet, he looks down to see a rat next to his feet, startled by the rat he jumps back and notices some stairs leading down into the darkness.
How far do these stairs go down? Where do these stair lead Too? He asked him self. After a moment of thinking Haldir decided to descend down the the stairs, in the pitch black darkness he walk, go further and further down the stairs, going deeper and deeper underground. After about ten minutes of walking he saw something glowing about 10 to 15 steps front of him, as he kept walking, the light getting closer and closer till he reached what seemed to be the bottom of the stairs, there was clearly no windows nor lite torches for light, yet on the was there were square of some sort of gem like rock that glowed giving light to a hallway about 7 meters long and a meter and a half in width. At the end of the hall way the was an old wooden door that looked to be over a century old. The lock on the door was worn and rusted, so must so that with just a slight push on the door the lock fell of making a lot clanging sound and the door opened, revealing…
