Think about it: Husk becoming interested in this mysterious fellow Overlord and Alastor coming to enjoy Huskโs company, but his concept of affection is skewed. Alastor only understands want and power.
Heโs been around longer than Husk, but thereโs a respect and camaraderie there for The Gambling Demon who listens to jazz and holds himself to a similar standard. So when other older Overlords disrespect Husk? They start going missing. Alastor gains power while working his way closer to Husk. Eventually though, itโs not enough. He wants control over the man whoโs made him do what few (if anyone) have before: care.
So when Husk falls on hard times, Alastor is there to swoop in and take what he wants. Alastor may have damaged their relationship in the process, but heโd rather be hated than lose Husk entirely. At least then Husk is feeling for him.}}
