Definitely Not A Game-changing Still Life. Just An Excuse To Try Out The Watercolour Pencils I Bought
Definitely not a game-changing still life. Just an excuse to try out the watercolour pencils I bought this week. I've never used them before, hence blotchy shadow-ness.
I think I might need to be a bit more liberal with the colouring before I add the water, too ... it all just looks a bit faint and, well, pencilly as it is. But not too shabby a first go, I guess.
(Plus, unlike at life drawing today, I got to eat my subject once I got bored.)

Another exciting instalment of the Adventures of Mrs Hudson lands this evening!
Meet El Chickito. He is a chicken who dreams of becoming a Mexican wrestler. His nemesis is a dragon. The dragon isn't too impressed about this situation and, although he is very polite, privately dreams of turning El Chickito into BBQ chicken wings.
(No, I really don't know what this is all about either.)
My first ever commission! Following yesterday's sketch, my nearly-sister-in-law asked me to draw a picture of the aforementioned niece that she could hang in the nursery. So, er, here she is with her pal Woolly Mammoth, obviously.
(I'm not very well today, evidenced by the fact that I uploaded this post earlier and only realised a few hours later that Woolly was missing a pair of ears... d'oh!)
There may be more of these to come, if I actually manage to shift this lurgy...
A quick preliminary sketch for Emily's Adventure's Part 2 (a reminder of part 1 here). Today: Emily and Woolly the Mammoth go exploring.
(Baby hamster-cheeks a-go-go!)
Well, my dashboard’s looking a lot cheerier since posting the last installment of Mrs Hudson’s adventures! I’m not sure where you’ve all popped up from, but it’s terribly nice to have you around.
I went back to work yesterday, but was sent home for still being gross and icky… So, it’s back under the duvet and back on with the Granada Holmes boxset.
Herein lies part three of Mrs Hudson’s adventures, in which Holmes doesn’t want to tidy his room.
