KEVIN CAN F**K HIMSELF | 2.07 The Problem
So, Nick.
His introduction isn't actually terrorizing Patty for pills right? His introduction is being friendly to Diane while buying scratch-off tickets because his girlfriend likes them.
Which is crazy, in the context of how sleazy dick filled Worcestor is? Diane's other customers being misogynistic douchebag and misogynistic doctor, Nick the violent drug dealer is like "Can I get some scratchies too, my girlfriend likes them :)))"
His establishing character traits are "can be affable to low-wage workers" and "considerate of what partner likes and attempts to satisfy them" which is shocking and groundbreaking and from that one line makes Nick/Unnamed Nick's Girlfriend the healthiest relationship in the entire season.
And there's definitely more to his backstory. He "probably" killed his step-dad, but he lives with his aunt? He emphasizes his reputation as maybe-stepdad-killer to Patty, but Tammy the cop treats him like a ne'er-do-well rather than a cold-blooded murderer? He plays it up like being a hired assassin is nothing special and gets annoyed with Allison trying to backseat-murder but then caves when she finally gets forceful about it?
More Reddit venting but considering this is the *third* time someone has tried to argue that Allison faking her death with a stolen certificate should have had some kind of legal/karmic repercussion, I have to get off my chest the person who argued that Allison was taking the chance that Gertrude Fronch's relatives could find out she died and grieve away from them, which COMPLETELY DEFEATS THE ENTIRE POINT OF ALLISON TAKING GERTRUDE'S IDENTITY.
The most egregious example of someone making shit up just to be mad at a fictional character I have ever seen.
Did not expect to have this exact thought in my head twice in the same day?
Jenn chapter, because she's the well-adjusted cinnamon roll we deserved, but never actually got :/
This subplot is so funny with the knowledge that Patty spent a year in highschool being manipulated into giving another girl rides.
