The WHIPLASH I felt when I checked your bio and found out you were trans. I beg of you, do a morsel of research. An itty bit. Just the basics. Enough to not quote a right wing conspiracy site.

It’s wild the number of posts I come across where people act like voting for or supporting Harris and Walz in the election is tantamount to implicitly supporting genocide. You know what actually helps genocide? Doing nothing while pretending you have the moral high ground. America is deeply tied to Israel and there will be no candidate who is as critical of their actions as we want them to be. We as private citizens do not have the power to make the USA suddenly cease all activity with Israel and demand an uncompromising ceasefire deal. Instead, we have to get our hands dirty and decide what path forward will mitigate as much harm as possible. You have one presidential candidate saying Israel needs to finish the job and another saying that we can’t ignore the tragedies in Gaza while vocally supporting a temporary ceasefire. These are your two picks. Thinking any third party candidate has a shot when none have any wide-reaching name recognition less than 100 days before the election is a fever dream.

The question then becomes, are you willing to say you voted “correctly” by voting for someone who has no shot of winning but is most closely aligned to you? Or are you going to vote for who will do the least harm? The idea that voting for a president involves liking them is a fairy tale. The establishment will always be the enemy of civil rights and safety. You’re voting for which opponent you want in office. The writing is on the wall about which candidate will be less of an uphill battle to fight against, and sidestepping the responsibility of making that decision by throwing away a vote isn’t moral or intellectually groundbreaking - it’s cowardly.

Listen, no hate to anyone, but I personally dislike those irondad type posts. The ones that make it clear that they’re only reference point is the mcu. Like, it seems v diminishing and one-beat. Peter Parker is a fucking genius. Like an actual, genuine genius. And the way ppl post about him just idk. To be clear I have nothing against wholesome slice of life posts/head canons towards super-heros. I love the batfamily (specially that one webtoon), but something about this just seems. Idk. I don’t want to be gate-keepy, or anything, but can people delve into literally ANY other form of marvel media besides the mcu. This isn’t even me saying “smh you don’t know this one niche thing about Spider-Man do you even read comics”, you don’t have to read comics!!!! There’s other marvel movies, shows, and shorts out there. I don’t hate Tom hollands Spider-Man, not by a long shot. (I do hate him becoming essentially a nepo baby and having access to all of that stark tech, I find it to be very out of character for a Spider-Man, but I digress). But I do hate people taking the mcu and then mischaracterising spiderman/creating a one-dimensional, boring, and just downright bad Peter Parker. Again, no hate to people that do it, but I am just tired of seeing that.

HAMAS STARTED THIS???? Fuck all the way off. Israel was created as a puppet state in the Middle East. Joe Biden called it the “best investment we (the USA) made”. Israelis started the mass killing of Palestinians as soon as they arrived. This did not start on October 7th. Anyone who thinks so is a fool, uneducated on the subject, and should not speak on it. Hamas has tried to negotiate for a ceasefire, for the release of the hostages. Guess who refused? Israel. Israel has killed more hostages than it has saved. It is not conducting “self defense” it is carpet bombing an innocent population while committing war crimes against its people.

Vote if you want to. But more importantly, ORGANIZE. Fun fuckin fact, career politicians don’t give a SHIT about you. They will say whatever puts them in office. They are not your friend. The democrats don’t give a shit about fascism beyond how it will affect their success.

Do not shame those who find Kamala Harris, the woman who has always supported Israel, abhorrent. do not be baffled at the idea that she supports genocide. Watch the videos of people at the dnc convention closing their ears when faced with the reality of Palestine. Her government is supporting the genocide. Voting for her in some way contributes to it. I understand why people are voting for her, but voting will not save us. It never will. Organizing is the most important. Continuing to learn, and grow in your political journey, with an emphasis on intersectionality and nuance is nearly as important as organizing. This country’s governance is simply the infighting of capitalists. It will never help those in need unless it is profitable or advantageous.
