I'm trying to prove something.

Random short story to go along with it because why tf not:

Taylor takes a heavy breath, sitting on the halfbroken overpass and observing the view. “It’s cold today.” She remarked, seemingly feeling the presence of Ben, who was quietly walking towards her. He nodded, adjusting his scarf.

Ben pulled out his notebook, writing something. ‘Should we keep looking?’ He showed to Taylor. She stared.

“...We can rest for the day, I guess.” Taylor answered, rubbing the back of her neck. “I’m sorry if I made you worried, it’s just…” Ben nodded, giving a small smile. Taylor reciprocated. “Thank you.” She whispered.

Ben sat down beside her, also watching the view. ‘The town looks so ruined despite it being only 5 months since the apocalypse.’ Taylor chuckled.

“I see you like keeping track of time?” She asked jokingly, Ben rolled his eyes before nodding. Taylor only snickered. “It’s funny how I first thought of you being cold and rude, never judge by its cover, then.” She smirked. Ben gave a small chuckle.

Silence then proceeded after that, a comfortable one at that. Taylor remembered when they first met each other, Ben throwing the zombie to the other side of the room, then her making them jump off the abandoned apartment to the other side of the roof, leading a lot of zombies trying to follow and then falling to their doom. She still found it funny.

“...You know,” She started, “I could’ve killed myself long ago if it wasn’t for you.” Ben looked at her in concern, Taylor chuckled. “...That apartment had ropes, and I just found no use of life without anyone, without my brother. Then you came, my prince charming,” Ben slightly blushed, looking away, “You saved the day, you helped me cope with loneliness even with your lack of speech, you helped me realize that maybe, just maybe, that there’s still hope. You agreed to help me find my brother, and now…” Taylor took a breath.

“...Thank you.”

Ben sat silent, as if processing the information. Taylor patiently waited for a response.

“...You’re welcome.” He whispered, looking at her with a smile. Taylor’s eyes widened.

“I-what-” It was as if the words got stuck in her throat, Ben silently chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. He then quickly wrote in his notebook.

‘My voice is just severely damaged, I’m sorry if it scared you-’ Ben gave a nervous smile. Taylor blinked. “Oh Ben…” She looked at him, then his notebook, then back to him. “You… Could’ve told me otherwise!” Taylor found the sudden change of subject funny. She hugged Ben, which led him to become a blushing mess. Taylor laughed.

They stayed like this for a moment, their warmth with each other making them comfortable as ever. Maybe they should do this more often.

5000 notes: I'll try stopping the voices in my head that says that all my injuries/suffering are just little and actually start trying to ask for help more

10000 notes: I'll go and fight my trauma and start trying to cook more food other than rice and eggs because I still remember that fire back when I was around 5(It's funny because I wanted to become a chef before and now I joke a lot about arson, ironic, ain't it?)

Why so much? I really want to do these and yet there's something in my head making me scared of doing these
